Haha, okay, so maybe I shouldn't be reading kids books, but hey, when you find something from your youth, it's hard to not stop, look and read. But given this is a kids book, I'm going to review it as such.

It's a simple plot, with a wide range of stereotypical characters that are all friends instantly. A paintbox is supposedly stolen, but it's actually just being taken to the lost and found office, and everything is okay in the end. Oh, and an acting audition is scored. Bonus! It's simple for a child.

But there's still some things that grate on me. Like the fact that New York City is full of nice people- ten to every nasty person. Oh, and all Australians say 'g'day' and 'crikey' and 'fair dinkum' and 'mate'. Oh, and how come someone can miss the first week of school without getting into trouble? Maybe this would go over kids heads, but it's still a bad thing to present to them.

But then again, I am twice the recommended reading age.

Oh, and one more thing- it's really quite strange to read about the World Trade Centers and see them placed on a map.
