A day by day description of the ground war in the European Theater. This book does a nice job of describing the chronological events that took place at the operational / strategic level for both Allies and Germans (with more emphasis on the allies). The book goes into occasional tactical detail, but doesn't over-do it.

This is a day-by-day account of the fighting in Northern France during the month as the Allied advance rolled back Germans defenses following the invasion on June 6, 1944.
