The Secret to the Subconscious Power Within You

Rate this book
Discover How to Change Your Thinking to Change Your Life. The chapters in this audiobook provide the listener with the way to live a life that is healthier, happier, and more fulfilling in every possible way. This audiobook is a tool that can be used for most problems that individuals encounter in life, and have been time-tested to accomplish the goals as intended. Murphy’s basic theme is that the solution to problems lies within oneself. Outside elements cannot change one’s thinking. That is, your mind is your own. To live a better life, it’s your mind not outside circumstances that you must change. You create your own destiny. The power of change is in your mind, and by using the power of your subconscious mind, you can make those changes for the better

(Arabic:
Joseph Murphy was a Divine Science minister and author.

Murphy was born in Ireland, the son of a private boy's school headmaster and raised a Roman Catholic. He studied for the priesthood and joined the Jesuits. In his twenties, an experience with healing prayer led him to leave the Jesuits and move to the United States, where he became a pharmacist in New York (having a degree in chemistry by that time). Here he attended the Church of the Healing Christ (part of the Church of Divine Science), where Emmet Fox had become minister in 1931.

In the mid 1940s, he moved to Los Angeles, where he met Religious Science founder Ernest Holmes, and was ordained into Religious Science by Holmes in 1946, thereafter teaching at the Institute of Religious Science. A meeting with Divine Science Association president Erwin Gregg led to him being reordained into Divine Science, and he became the minister of the Los Angeles Divine Science Church in 1949, which he built into one of the largest New Thought congregations in the country. In the next decade, Murphy married, earned a PhD in psychology from the University of Southern California and started writing. After his first wife died in 1976, he remarried to a fellow Divine Science minister who was his longstanding secretary. He died in 1981.

It's a very interesting book but only works if we try to follow the recommendations, anyone of them. I tried the one which says for us to repeat what we want until there's no doubt before we sleep, because that's when the subconscious mind works better. And it's working! Everyday I do this I wake up better.

But what I have to criticize is the interpretations Joseph Murphy makes of the Bible. Maybe I just don't have enough faith in everything he says, hahahaha, but since I'm a Christian I see he gets some passages out of context and, thus, offers a wrong interpreation. But apart from this, it is a nice book.
