As the son of Hades and a Guardian of the Realms, Pothos has been gifted with immense power to protect the inhabitants of the four Realms of Earth. When the evil God Apollo is stolen and the Guardians are forced to wake Hades from his sleeping confinement, P is faced with a long held dangerous secret; that he was born of two worlds. Learning that his mother was a Priestess from the unknown world of Thule, Hades also confesses that P has been kept hidden from all who dwell there as his very life is in danger the moment their Gods learn of his existence. As P struggles to make sense of the life he has lived and what this means for his future he finds himself forcibly pulled into Thule by an unstoppable divine force. Bracing for attack, he instead finds himself faced with a threat of a different sort, a beautiful golden Goddess who calls to the very depths of his soul.

Gefn is a Goddess of Thule, dedicated to the preservation of her world. A world constantly faced with wildly shifting energy left behind in the wake of warring Gods. Haunted after witnessing the brutal murders of her closest friends, her Priestesses, she has lived a life of relative loneliness but for her few remaining siblings and her pair of giant, magical lynx gifted to her at birth. They are Guardians of Thule and her most trusted companions. When they lead her to a hidden garden outside her missing sister’s palace she is shocked to find a winged male who calls to her most primal desires, unleashing her power in a way that sweeps her into a passion she’s never known. His sudden disappearance leads her and her brothers into a tense and deadly standoff in another world.

As both worlds collide will Pothos and Gefn’s unique mating end in his death? Or will the strength of their love help them survive a storm of ecstasy as they uncover more secrets that could save them all?

Warning: Gods gone crazy, bad language, dirty talk, and explicit scenes meant for mature audiences.

5 “I’m a beast for you, thea mou.” stars

Pothos is the son of Hades and Guardian of the Realm, he has his hands full to not only protect those he was entrusted to protect but to keep his father out of trouble. A secret is revealed making him face the reality of his existence and power, but also come face to face with the one who can bring him to his knees.
“He is my male… The son of a God from another world and Eir...He is my maðr.” Her consort. “Pothos was championed by Spa and Velspar.”

Gefn is a Goddess of Thule, who is faced with a man who threatens her world, her body and her mind. Trapped in the sacred haven of her world there is only one solution... mate with the Guardian and pray her brothers don't wage war against his people in the process.
“Thea mou, I vow to honor and care for you, with my body, soul and blood through all eternity.”

Storm of Ecstasy took a different method to their mating bond and I loved it. There were no games it was pure exploration of each other worlds and bodies. It was a sexual journey of the past, present and future. How Setta Jay managed to make story telling and world building sexy and hot at the same time is beyond me but she did. I was fully engrossed the whole time.

P has always been the quiet controlled power, not one to be underestimated, but he isn't one to loose his mind. Even with all that is happening with Gefn and him he manages to treat her with care and give her what she needs to build the bond that is strong and everlasting. One of my favorite parts, is when Gefn trusted companions, Spa and Velspar, championed for him... goosebumps. It's bitter sweet, this being the second to the last book, but what she has coming next has me so excited. Another Amazing addition!

"You're a greedy Goddess. What am I going to do with you?"
"Give me what I need."
"By the time we're done, there won't be an inch I haven't loved."
description

Storm of Ecstasy is the 9th book in the Guardians of the Realms Series, and it picks up immediately after Divine Ecstasy, The Guardians are back and as the battle wages on P finds that he is mated to a Goddess from another world.

description

"That Goddess is my mate."
When P and Gefn set their eyes on each other, the frenzy begins. If you are a fan of this series, you understand the physical attraction becomes so extreme that it can be painful until the two come together. With P and Gefn, the situation could not be more extreme. They are practically enemies, and P must convince his brothers and sisters that he is meant to claim his mate. In addition to his guardian family, his own father is not in favor of the mating because he fears for his son's safety.

description
"Have you put a spell on me?"
Gefn is a strong Goddess whose beauty and grace has carried her through a lifetime of loneliness. With only the companionship of her brothers and her magical lynx cats, she has never experienced true companionship with a mate. When Pothos and Gefn come together, it is a huge explosion of lust and passion, and when Gefn puts her trust in P they become a force to be reckoned with.

description
"You taste so damned good, thea mou. Come again. Give me more."
Told in alternating POV, Storm of Ecstasy is another beautiful addition to the series. With each Guardian that is revealed, I fall more in love with this world. The beasts and mystical creatures are passionate and loyal. They love their mates fiercely and will stop at nothing to protect the humans. The smoking hot dialogue and physical connection between P and Gefn is will certainly get your heart rate up and the blood pumping in all the right places!!! Additionally, the supporting Guardians remain an integral part of the story, and after falling in love with each of them, it only makes you that much more engaged with each and every heart-stopping moment.

Storm of Ecstasy is an absolute must read. I am DYING for the next Guardian book to be released! With the birth of a guardian baby, gods on the loose, and one Guardian left to find her mate, this series is sure to end with a bang. I am already feeling sad to see it come to an end. However, I trust this author to make the final story in the series an explosive conclusion that is worthy of these amazing characters. Setta Jay is the Queen of Paranormal Romance, and if you haven't checked out this series, you are truly missing out!!! There is simply nothing better!!!!

The darkness is coming.

Whenever I write a review for one of Setta Jay’s books I’m always in a quandary how to do it justice. We come back to the old Sassy story where I find it a little embarrassing admitting I like smut. Romance I’m finding is easier to admit to reading. I can justify (so not the right word) reading a romance with the understanding that I’m in it for the heartfelt storyline. What I don’t shout to the rooftops is that I get a kick out of being a peeping tom. I want to know how other people connect, see when lust turns to love, and maybe even get some pointers. ;)

What I really get a kick out of is when there is a storyline just as intense, riveting and heart pumping as the sexy times. Setta Jay has managed to get me to a stage where I’m more interested in the goings on with all of the Guardians than who is bumping uglies. There is Drake, and the tendrils of smoke escaping his mouth when he’s frustrated. We have Sirena with her sexual frustration and lack of sleep because she’s always healing someone. Then there’s Hades the God who thinks everyone should bow down to his greatness. These characters and the other Guardians and their mates are all awesome in their own special way. How they get it on with their mates has become an added bonus instead of the reason I read the Guardians of the Realms.

The Guardians have a calling to protect the innocent from the Darkness that is coming to destroy the worlds. In Storm of Ecstasy, we start off by meeting Gefn a Goddess in Thule (one of the other worlds) and her siblings Hroarr (in charge) and Dagur. They’ve just found out that their other sister Kara has gone missing and that Gefn while searching for Kara, was drawn to a powerful otherworldly male. This man kissed her and from that very first touch…everything has changed in and around her. Gefn is confused and horrified by the sexual arousal that has taken over her body. What she doesn’t realise is she’s just met her fated mate.

Pothos can’t believe it’s finally his turn. When he realises the beautiful Goddess of Thule Gefn, is his fated mate, he is excited but also a little worried. Pothos had only just recently found out from his dad, Hades, that his mum was a priestess from Thule. Mum dearest had dumped P on Hades hands and warned him to never let P know of Thule or her existence because it could mean his death. Considering what they’ve all learnt about fated mates, P knows fighting the mating frenzy is a waste of time. Better off to suck it up buttercup and let the cards play out.

One of my favourite things about the Guardians of the Realms series is that the women are equal in strength, fierceness and protectiveness as the men. Oh, the men like to stand in front of their women to protect them, but half the time the women just step around them and do what needs to be done. Gefn is definitely an example of this. She has her own strengths and powers but with the mating, they are stronger and she gains some new abilities too.

Things are heating up and the Tria (evil siblings stuck in hell) are sending out more hell beasts and other bad creatures (can't remember all the names) to cause havoc. All the guardians, gods, goddesses and wolves must stand together, work together and fight together to beat back the darkness that is coming.

Now to the sexy times…they’re there…and they’re HOT!! Enough said.

Storm of Ecstasy was another excellent instalment to the series. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know Gefn and Pothos. I really liked seeing all the old characters and love that Alyssa and Gregoire’s little one is giving them hell…from the womb. I cannot wait for Sirena’s story…ABOUT BLOODY TIME!!

It's been pretty obvious that I'm desperately in love with Hades. His son, Pothos, was almost as irresistible as he was! Between his passionate love for his mate and his never-ending love for his family and father, this male easily earned a place in my heart.

So here's what you'll find:
⭐ There was lots of the hot sex I've come to love and expect. Just thought you should know as this is an extremely important part of all of these stories.
⭐ Pothos had just found out who his mother really was. Hades had kept his full bloodline a secret to protect him. His mother was a Priestess of Thule and during a time of immense darkness, a time when Gods and Priestesses were being murdered by other Gods, she trusted Hades to protect their son on Earth. Always knowing how very much his father loved him, Pothos finally knew how very much his mother loved him too. This part was a bit heartbreaking and yet gave so much more dimension to an already engrossing story.
⭐ Gefn was a Goddess of Thule. Her brother and sister had already made huge errors with their potential allies on Earth and she just hopes that everything can be fixed and that these new-to-her Gods will make her and her people even stronger. Amidst a lot of confusion and male posturing, Gefn and Pothos (mainly P) realize they are fated. While Pothos understands what is happening and is all for claiming his beautiful goddess, she has no clue about anything to do with mating. It all leads to sweet, sexy fun and a lot of heartfelt sharing from an impressive male. I Love Pothos!
⭐ Hades presence is luring out the beasts and the Guardians are busier than ever. Oh, and there's a foretold darkness on the way, a Destroyer of Worlds (sounds all DC Crisis on Infinite Earths ish), and it may take the gods we know and the ones we've just met to work together to beat it back. I'm scared. I just hope that everyone I've come to love makes it out safely in the end.

Sirena, the Guardian Healer who never takes a break and puts everyone's welfare above her own, the female who didn't think she'd ever find a mate of her own because the only males strong enough for her were her relatives, seems to finally be getting her very own happily ever after. It looks like she has her work cut out for her when it comes to her warlord god mate and I cannot wait to get started. I'm off!

I just love this series, I look forward to every book. Not just because I want to know what happens with the individual Guardians stories but because Setta Jay has completely roped me into the world and every book puts me more on edge to see what will happen with the over all background story. I really liked Pothos and Gefn together. I especially liked how they didn't really resist the mating, sometimes the build up is necessary but sometimes the story flows better when there isn't the resistance and Setta Jay is one of those great authors that knows which stories call for it and which don't.

I can't wait for the next book!!! Finally Sirena's story! I've been looking forward to her book since I started this series. I'm foreseeing a lot of resistance in her book lol ;)

WOW! Another HAWT and DELICIOUS story!

I wait with great anticipation for each new installment in the Guardians of the Realms series. There is just so much mouthwatering yumminess to savor.

This novel ups the stakes and brings the fierce and fiery mate frenzy to a new high. We are treated to some riveting developments that come thick and fast leaving you awed.

The guardians world is vast, but now we get this new realm of Thule to further our excitement and satisfaction. Ms. Jay weaved this new world flawlessly into the overall story.

Pathos, finally is ensnared in the mating frenzy with someone even more powerful then imagined. He’s a sexy as sin Guardian and a very dominant male. I liked seeing that he appreciates Gefn’s abilities and strengths. I also liked that they both accepted the fated mate thing, because their was a lot of other stuff happening.

Storm of Ecstasy is another cataclysmic, sensual, and sultry read! It’s a nice blend of romance and eroticism. If you enjoy explosive erotic paranormal romance and haven’t yet tired Setta Jay’s Guardians of the Realms series you are in for a fiery treat. Delicious paranormal goodness ensues. We are treated to another explosive read after another in this series!

Storm of Ecstasy is electrifying ride that I couldn't put down until it was over. P and Gefn story is fast paced, it expands the Guardians world with the introduction of a new realm with its own mythology and heart stopping characters and showcases new powers. The chemistry and heat between P and his lovely otherworldly mate is sizzling and the general plot of the series progresses to such degree that it will be an impossible wait for the next installment in the fall. Setta Jay is hitting her stride with the last few books of the series and this might be my new favorite offering from her. I'll expand the review with more details in a few days, but this was so great! Highly recommend!

4 1/2 Stars!

So good! P and Gefn are really good together. I like them both very much and it was cool seeing them get together, but this book focused a lot on what has been happening in the Realms and in Thule. The series has progressed quite a bit from the beginning to now. It started out very erotic with not that much of a story, but some interesting characters to now having a very interesting sometimes intense story that I am excited to see how it all ends- or hopefully not end. And still the very interesting likeable characters too.

The ending leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger and I CANNOT FREAKING WAIT for the next book. Serena and Hroarr are going to be explosive! Happy reading!!

Setta Jay has created a fascinating world of powerful beings destined to protect the worlds. It's like stepping into another world when you dive into her books. It can be a bit confusing at first with all the new terminology but I'm fascinated with these guardians. I especially love reading about each and everyone of them meeting theirs fated mates. Setta takes erotic fantasy to a whole new level. At the end of every book in the series you get a glimpse of who will be the next couple and she has a way of making the next book even more intriguing than the last. I'm looking forward to Sirena Hroarr's book!

Vane scratched behind the tall golden ears as he spoke. “What can I say, I’m the pussy whisperer, aren’t I, beautiful?”

I love this quote even though it doesn't have a lot to do with the overall story of this book. Nevertheless, I am so happy with this one!

Yes!!! We have a cover, it's Pothos' book, 2 weeks to go!!! Hip, hip, book hurray!! (Lol, where did that come from?!?!)

But I'll still campaign, please give Sirena her book, let her be next, #TeamSirena but take your time, and give her a kickass Alpha who I'll love over all others. Thank You

Final Review:

Yeeeeeessssssss!!!! We finally read it. And completed it. This book was devoured in one sitting. Devoured, because i did not move, did not have a bathroom break, and had water and a snack to get me through, and it was all worth it....#TeamSirena

Pothos, P met his perfect mate. This felt very insta-quick love, what with them having to complete the bond in record time so that Gefn could absorb P's abilities for their overall well being. They were puzzle pieces, because they generally had the same backstory, only taking place in different worlds. Their smut scenes carried with the hot and bothered aspect of it. But this book was basically about strategy, and i think we're being set up for the big finale, either in the next book, or atleast two more after this one.

My main concentration point was about Alyssa and Gregoire, because their baby is just fascinating the hell out of me, and also making me try to figure out how the plot will be carried forward when the kid get's here. In my head, i have the scary thought that the baby will be born, and then grow up in a span on like 10 minutes, which i pray isn't so, but i'm speculating she'll be like an out of the realm of their possibility baby who'll have special powers, but not in a creepy baby way.

I also absolutely loved Spa+Vespar, as they're playing a key role in match making as well as the fight that'll come about. Their antics are just too funny, especially Spa with Vane.

Let me just say, the end is what made me jump up and down in excitement. It was a good cliff hangar, coz now i'm hankering for the next book like mad...and also my wish has come true...#TeamSirena. I just cannot wait. That will be a hot book, and i hope they have some sexy tension between them. I'm not saying who, you have to read to find out who it is. :-D

Overall, a good book in the series, which i feel is setting up the finale of the series.

Oh.My.Sweet.Baby.Jesus.

Mindblown.

Ok ladies and gents shit just got real. Looked like I was waiting forever for Pothos "P"s book and it's finally here! Thank you Setta!

Storm of Ecstasy takes off right where the last book ended and from than on its an intense ride from start to finish. In between all the delicious sexual tension/mating frenzy between Tall dark and yummy ahem...Pothos and his goddess Gefn the plot thickens with an incoming darkness that threatens the world as we know it, Alyssa's powerful baby drama and a New God in line for Sirena who I want to climb like a tree! mind you I believe I'm a loyal lover and initially it was Jax for me but every book I'm hopping from guardian to guardian like a jumping jack because they just get better and better! Jax, Drake ( no offense Kumiko Lei a girl can dream right?) than Hades! Squee!!! and now P! but Hroarr...fucking A!!! In addition we get more in depth into the world of Thule and the world building is just out of this world! Add in the killer but too cute mischievous Lynx's and Uri's He'll hound and it's a free for all that is surely driving Drake to madness. I love a furious Drake **Sigh**

I totally read this book in one sitting. It's so engaging you just cannot put it down. Loved!

Well it's finally the turn of Pothos or P as he's known to his friends to step up and claim his own mate but happily Gefn seems more than happy to do some claiming of her own! Yes it's another scorching read from this author but pairing up this brooding powerful male with a Goddess no less just kind of really upped the stakes. I mean with Hades for a father it was quite clear that P was destined for bigger things but the discoveries here just keep coming thick and fast leaving this readers head reeling! This author leaves no stone unturned as she keeps expanding this world she has created. I loved the Guardians before but now we get the realm of Thule to even further entertain and excite readers. Yes I admit I'm not a huge fan of the mating frenzy these characters succumb to but the overall story arc is very imaginative and sucks me in every time . Aimed at those with an open mind this book and indeed this series is extremely well written, very creative and did I mention hot? I was gifted an arc from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Format: Ebook
Shelf: Review

Rating: 5
Heat: 5+

Thoughts: Man was that HOT, but did you really have to end it there??!! Ms. Jay as usual delivers a fast paced, sexy as sin story that will leave you breathless. Oh, and I'm still trying to figure out how to pronounce Gefn lol. I have to say I REALLY want Gefn's cats, they sound like the coolest pets ever. I think I still want Hades the most but there's no way I would pass up P if he came knocking on my door. I look forward to learning more about Thule and how that's going to work with them being guardians of two worlds. Can't wait for more!!

This series just draws me right in. With this being the 9th of the series there are a lot of characters. A lot has happened since the beginning. But Setta Jay does a pretty amazing job keeping us up to date and no huge amount of information dump. This could be read as a stand alone because of that but I'd recommend to just read the whole series. If you love steamy paranormal romance, this series hits all the good spots. The main couple in this book is Pothas (Hades son) and Gefn (the Thulean Goddess). Their chemistry is off the charts and their interactions are fun to watch. I loved watching these two worlds come together.

And the tease of the next book, I can't wait to read it!

OMG!!! I've been binge reading this series and am once again not only enthralled but feel like I know each of these characters and their mates intimately. Such an emotional roller-coaster finding Pothos' mother came from another world and then finding his mate. Setta has become a clear favorite and anticipate her following the rest of the characters just as closely. Congratulations on another GREAT SUCCESS

*I read my personal copy to review for Wicked Reads*

This entire series has been fantastic! I will say that each story builds upon the last, but more so in books 8 and 9 - please don't start with this book (and honestly, they're all worth reading).
This is the story of Pothos (aka P), Hades son. He's a powerful Demi-God who has always been a low-key character. All the Guardians are amazing in their own ways, but P has always been intriguing.

Gefn is also a very powerful goddess from a different world, Thule. We learn more about this world and it's history, but much is still to be discovered.
If you've been following the series then you know the relations between the Guardians and Thule are a bit strained. We're still missing Apollo and have no idea why the Thulians want him, or how they plan to use him.

The build-up to the conclusion of the series is killing me, so many questions still aren't answered, but I love the dynamic between the couples. Each couple is becoming more powerful with shared abilities, which keeps making me ask the question: What is really going on?
The romance in this book is sizzling, the erotic scenes are [always] amazing, and the introduction of the other world Thule is just adding more curiosity. I can't wait for the conclusion, but yet don't want it to end.

ARC REVIEW

I get my erotica fix! I can always count on Setta Jay to give me romance, hot sex, and a great story. Not to mention finally P gets his. I have been lusting after the black winged Pothos since I started the series. What I really liked about Setta Jay was the summery of what has happened up to this point. Most of her books have been written as stand alones but the last book left off as a bit of a cliffhanger and so the summery she give is a good reminder to those of us who have read all the books and a great in the nutshell for those who have missed it.

In the last book we finally find out the true origins of Pothos' mother, and Pothos gets pulled in the the blue swirling vortex that transports him to the other world Thule where he meets his mate Gefn. Gefn is a Goddess on her world and when P and her disappear in the middle of a standoff between the Guardians and her brothers they almost start a war. This calm down between the two worlds when Gefn proves she's safe with Pothos and that she will explain all later. Hades and Hrroar make a deal to trade their other sister for Apollo.

You get to see Hades in his annoying overbearing father role. P and Gefn are worried about how they are going to make things work, she needs to be in Thule and P has to protect Earth. With the knowledge that Hrroar and Dagur have of the upcoming disaster that has been foretold for both of their worlds The Guardians are a bit more prepared for it.

Overall, I enjoy this series so much. I can't wait for Sirena's story next.

- Another awesome addition to the series
- The overall atmosphere of dark times ahead and ramping up of intensity throughout the book was awesome
- Lovely developments with many of the characters
- The additional mythology of the world of Thule was very interesting and complex (in a good way)
- I love Pothos. He's got so many feelings. His memories shared during his mating with Gefn were so beautiful
- Gefn is a great character and it was fascinating to see how she and Pothos handled the two worlds and all the newness around them

- I continue to love the alternating points of view (especially Hades thrown in too because he's just awesome!)
- LOL Hades is such a pain sometimes but so funny:
“The Goddess and Pothos turned smiles in their direction when he and Sacha approached. The female actually looked happy to see him as Pothos formally introduced, “Father, this is my mate, Gefn.”
The female beamed at him before bowing a fraction respectfully. “You have raised an incredible male with his father’s sense of honor.”
Hades arched a brow. Damn, he might just like this female after all. Sacha snorted in their bond, Well, she sure has you figured out.”

- The developments with Sirena were awesome!! And I can't wait to see what's in store for her.
- As always with this series, the intensity and keep-me-on-the-edge-of-my-seat writing continues until the last page. No, THE LAST SENTENCE.
- I can't wait for what's coming. I think I'll suffer from withdrawal until then...

Advanced Readers Copy Courtesy of Netgalley....:)

I am pretty sure I have said it before and I will say it again. This is without a shadow of a doubt one of my favorite paranormal series out there. Not only is the story line addictive as hell, the erotic content is off the charts hot......

This is Pothos story. I have pretty much loved him from the beginning when he was described as having tattoos and piercings....I mean really, not much more I needed to know. He is also Hades son, and the last book left off when he had met his soul mate in Thule.

Gefn is a Priestess in Thule and when she meets Pothos she has no idea what happened to her. All she knows is she wants more of the sexy winged man she cant get enough of.

Unfortunately this is not a book you can read as a stand alone, as it starts where the last ones leave off and you wont be able to follow the story line other wise....that said, you WILL want to start at book 1 as its a pretty addictive series and really GOOD!!!

And can I just say that I am pretty much going to sit on tender hooks now while I wait for book 10, because this is the one I have wanted from the beginning....Selena's story......I have always felt sorry for her as she has sat back on the sidelines as her brother guardians have fallen in love.....and now its her turn with a God from Thule.....grrr I want it NOW!!!!

Well, things are really hotting up in this world. It's obvious something big is coming and the tension is building at a rapid pace now. Apollo has been found and Hades is just spoiling for a fight but it's not happening just yet.

P is very sweet and he and Gefn are a lovely couple. it's looking like Gefn's brother and our sweet healer are up next, fun times ahead.

Oh my gosh, I love this damn series. Love, love Pothos aka P and Gefn. This series for me is always a great combination of so much sensual heat and great story line.....gotta love that, right. I think that P and Gefn may be my favorite couple in this series. Pothos is an awesome mate....psst, he gets that from his hot as hell dad. Bestest dad ever, him being an awesome dad just makes him that much hotter. I digress, sorry.

So in this book we get to find out what the Tria is up to, Vane has a new "admirer" (which is so damn funny), Alyssa's baby is being a tad naughty to her, P gets to learn some things about his mother and we find out who Sirena's mate will be (jumps up and down). I also love some of the new characters from Thule.

Gonna start the next book right now.......yay, Sirena's book. My excitement is so real right now people.

I really enjoyed this installment of the Guardian’s story. I will admit I was hesitant because she was pulling another world into an already full one, but Ms. Jay managed to weave it seamlessly into the overall story. Pothos was sexy as could be and although a dominant male, he still appreciated Gefn’s strengths and abilities. I liked that. I was also happy that they both accepted the fated mate thing as there was more than enough other stuff to keep the energy going, they didn’t need a relationship-denial arc at all. Their relationship is a nice blend of eroticism and romance that blended well with the turmoil around them. Oh, and I loved the lead in to the next story.

"Storm of Ecstasy" by Setta Jay. Book 9 of the Guardians of the Realms series.

OK. So I'm giving this book 4 stars because I really really enjoyed this book about Pothos (P) and Gefn but I'm really having a love/hate relationship with this book! Please forgive me if my review doesn't make any sense and my thoughts may be all over the place but this book left me with so many conflicted feelings, I really didn't know how to start this review.

I really enjoyed the story line to this book. The romance between Pothos and Gefn was sexy and erotic and because both characters are strong and independent, they just work together really well. Their romance is very quickly paced, hot and heavy from the start, their mating frenzy being more aggressive than other Guardians because of Pothos being half Thulian and Gefn being a Thulian Goddess. I loved seeing Hades, Pothos' father, being all protective of his son. There's also some mischievous large cats in this book, Gefn's guardians, that are very humourous and are stirring up trouble for more than one Guardian. Throughout the book, there is the ongoing ominous threat that "something evil is coming." We also get glimpses into how Gregoire and Alyssa's pregnancy is moving along.

Now, here is where the love/hate thing comes in. Because Pothos is born of two worlds, there's an issue of how he's supposed to still be a Guardian in Earth but also be with Gefn in Thule. Well this issue isn't really solved by the end of the book and every time they question something about how their relationship is going to work, they basically say, we'll deal with later, and then the story continues. Also, there's no real bad guy in this book so there was really no current threat for anyone to deal with. Just that ominous "something" coming. There is also absolutely no conflict between Pothos and Gefn. I don't think they have one argument in this whole book! Lastly, as I was getting to the end of this book, I kept thinking, "OK, something has to happen now!" but NO! The last two chapter are freaking awesome but it's left with a CLIFFHANGER!!!! My first thought was "SON A B*#&!" The teaser ending as to who the next couple is (and other story plot lines I will not mention) were SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!!

I absolutely HAVE to keep reading this series now to find out what happens next! And this is my love/hate relationship with this book. I loved Pothos and Gefn's story but this book leaves you wanting more. Which I guess is a good thing because it keeps you reading and keeps you interested and intrigued.

So yeah, I really really liked this book and I will ABSOLUTELY be reading the next one!

World Building: This story takes place in the Tetartos realm, Earth, and the world of Thule.
Characters: The main characters in this novel are Pothos and Gefn. Pothos is the son of Hades and has been blessed with a terrible and wonderful gift. The ability to enthrall others can help immensely during battles but controlling the power around his family is harder than anyone can imagine. Keeping himself apart from his loved ones is the only way Pothos knows how to protect everyone. So imagining himself with a mate was never in the cards until he was pulled into the other world of Thule and met the beautiful Goddess, Gefn. As a Goddess of Thule there are no such things as fated mates and after her priestess are brutally murdered in front of her, she has closed herself off in hopes of not being hurt again. The whirlwind meeting of Pothos is amazing and terrifying all at the same time. But with elation comes suspicion, on both sides. Can Pothos, a son of a God, who is born of the two worlds find happiness with the Goddess Gefn? Or with her will her brothers and world prevent them from having a happily ever after?
Plot: I love that there was a good amount of information about Thule and the big darkness that is coming the guardian’s way. The romance between Pothos and Gefn was a big part of the story but understanding Thule and what went on in that world is the other main part of the novel!
Writing: This story was told in third person points of view of Pothos, Gefn, Hades, and Sirena. I loved this great mix of views because having Sirena’s point of view set up the story for the next novel! And I have been waiting nine novels to have Sirena’s story!!
Curb Appeal: I love the cover although I would have loved to see Gefn’s big beautiful cats featured as well. It’s nice to have both Gefn and Pothos represented on the cover when normally it’s just the hero who is featured. The blurb gives such good background on the characters but leaves out so much! This novel really answers a lot of questions about the world of Thule and their inhabitants.
Ultimately: I love this series so much and this novel didn’t disappoint! I’m so, so excited for Sirena’s story and very much anticipating more information on the big darkness. All in all, if you are in the mood for a smoking hot couple that isn’t about to let anyone tell them what they can and cannot do, then come check out Storm of Ecstasy!!
