Heart gripping, emotional and captivating. Victoria Renteria is a debut author that blew me away with her second book in her Betrayed series.
This is a non-stop page turner that held my attention from start to finish. It was full of twists and turns from every angle that I didn't see coming.
It pulled every emotion out of me. Anger, humor, to absolute heart wrenching moments that really brought the story to life.
The characters are all well developed. Some deeper and more complex than others; yet she made it very easy for me as a reader to connect to each one and understand to some degree.
Victoria's writing style flowed nicely and was consistent. She was very detailed and steady throughout the story to the very end.
My anticipation for the continuation of this series is high and I look forward to it. I recommend this as well as Betrayed By Blood; the first installment of this epic series.

4.5 Thrilling Stars! Kylee and Alex are in a relationship and things are starting to get serious. Kylee is suddenly kidnapped and Alex does not know where she is. Alex is part of a secret ops team of the military and he is assigned to go find Kylee. Can Alex do his job without letting his emotions get in the way? This book is full of twist and tuns that you don't see coming. Victoria writes a well written story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved the chemistry between the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and am looking forward to the next one. This is the second book in the Betrayed Series and should be read in order. I recommend you one-click it!

The emotion.....my god I can't remember the last time I cried like that with a book. This book is so very well written, I couldn't put it down ( well I didn't want to but I had to adult in the end!).
Totally recommend this series.

As a reviewer its rough when you don’t get the first book in a series. This happens to be the case with Bound By Blood. Although the book has a decent story line I couldn’t fully appreciate the events due to not receiving the first book.
I love the genre but I wasn’t sure I had the full story of how the characters had previously been involved or emerged to where they were now. Kylee is facing the past and seems to be barely surviving. She is tied to the mafia but not by choice. Being held against her will, she lives as best as she can.
Alex Grant serves his country. Its what drives him. Leading missions and finding the bad guys gives him purpose. While overseas he crosses paths with a woman that changes everything he once knew. Decisions have to be made and sacrifices will be determined. Who or what is more important and where does his loyalty lie?
I did like the characters but again as I said I did not received or have the opportunity to read the first installment. If you have read the first book Im sure you will be please as the series continues. There is a cliffhanger that will probably send you over the edge. Alex and Kylee’s story continues in the last installment, Royal Blood coming in the Fall.

This is the second book in ( The Betrayed Series ) by Victoria Renteria ,and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this great story. Victoria Renteria has given us a story that is heart gripping ,emotional ,and will keep you locked in it's pages from start to finish because it's so captivating, that when you reach the end it will have you wishing for more from this author. The twists and turns at every corner that you turn and you won't see them coming. It will have every emotion of your racing and roaring ,there is angst, humor ,with some heart -rending moments that brought this whole story to life. The characters are well written and the storyline is also well developed ,Victoria Renteria made it every easy for us to enjoy and to connect with each character easy. The chemistry between these two is amazing and seem strong. The authors writing flows smoothly and is quite consistent and the details was everlasting throughout the whole story. This Kylee and Alex's romance story. Kylee and Alex are in an relationship and everything with them is getting serious. But without warning Kylee is kidnapped and Alex really doesn't know where she could be. Alex is a member of a secret ops team in the military and his assignment is to find Kylee . But will Alex's emotions hamper his judgement ,or could it get in the way ? I could tell you more about this great story ,but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend you one -click this story ,you won't be disappointed.

Another emotional ride from Victoria Renteria. I knew there would be tears, of course. For half the book I was biting my fingernails, wanting Alex to hurry up and save Kylee already…but drawing that out laid the foundation for the next book, and I’m already anticipating what will come.

Oh wow another cliffhanger but, the good news means there is another book in this series. Bound by Blood is the second book in The Betrayed Series.
There are some sad parts and I would suggest don’t read this book at work like I did. I had a slow night and decided to get a little reading in. I had to get up and walk away from this book for a little while because I could feel those big sloppy tears coming on and I didn’t want to cry, especially at work.
I When I accepted this gift from Victoria Renteria I didn’t realize this was book 2. I quickly went out and bought Book One Betrayed by Blood to read and I am glad I did. I don’t think I would have been able to read this book without knowing what went on. I did read some of the reviews on Amazon and saw that one reviewer did not read the first book and just went ahead with this book. I think that she left a lower review because of that so. Please read book one first and then will be in the know. If you like dark reads then I would suggest you read this book!
This book is the continuation of Kylee Parker’s & Alexander Grant’s story. I will let you read the synopsis since, I think the author does a far better job at that than I do. I don’t know how Kylee Parker survives with all the things that happens to her. I don’t want to say more because I don’t want to spoil the story for you.

Bound By Blood picks up right from the ending of Betrayed By Blood, so you MUST read the first book before this one! Kylee Parker has been kidnapped by the person who should be protecting her, but who has vowed to make her join the family crime business by any means necessary. As Kylee is being tortured, she's doing her best to maintain her sanity to find a way to escape. Alexander Grant 's main focus in life has been to serve his country. He and his elite team were in South Korea for a highly classified mission when he meets Kylee. They fell hard and fast for each other, but now that she's been kidnapped, the line between his job, and his love is becoming very blurry. He knows he must keep a clear head, but as days go by, he's starting to put his job at risk. As Alex and his team race against time, will they find Kylee before it's too late?
I was so very excited to get this book that I did my best endzone dance, and devoured it. Now I've spent a couple days very pissed off at the way I was left YET AGAIN! Victoria Renteria has been moved up the list of authors trying to KILL ME, and as sweet as she looks, she's now hash tagged #EVILWHORE forevermore for her evil genius self! Of course, I wouldn't be so upset if she didn't have a brilliant writing style that I can't get enough of! Her twists and turns never stop, so I'm pretty sure my mouth should have been washed out with soap as the OMG moments had new levels of f-bombs raining down everywhere. The character development is fantastic, with an awesome cast of secondaries that I believe need their own stories (hint hint). My heart raced cover to cover as I felt like I was racing against time to save Kylee myself, and it took a while to calm it down when I finished. Since my dramatic girly girl emotions still won't switch off, I'm going to end with saying that the next book CANNOT COME OUT SOON ENOUGH, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Where do I begin? I guess the first place is to say this was a gut wrenching, I have to put the book down and walk away and come back to it type of read. This book was not what I expected at all. Bound by Blood most definitely binds and winds the reader so tightly in the feels from the first chapter to the last. This is not a book for the faint hearted by any means. And, even though this was a tough read for me, I am happy I finished it.
Alex and Kylee are in a race against time: Alex finding and saving Kylee and Kylee surviving the kidnapping and returning to Alex's side. Alex has to turn to his military training and his best friends to help keep him sane enough to get the mission completed : Get Kylee Back!! Kylee digs deep in the recesses of her mind to survive the maniacal thing (you'll have to read why I refer to it as a thing) from her past. Both, Kylee and Alex know that if they falter even once, it means the end for both of them.
Holy frigging cow! Usually I have the problem of not wanting to put a book down because the story has me by my heart through my stomach, not this book. The reality and descriptive images the author weaves into Kylee's kidnapping had me cringing and nauseous and a blubbering mess. My heart bled for her. I almost felt the author spent too much time on some scenes, I just wanted to be over. I will say too I got frustrated that Alex was not moving fast enough! I hate to say it but I wanted him to be more alpha. With soul crushing subjects of abuse, rape, torture and miscarriage, Bound by Blood is a gutting bloody good read.
While I would love to give this 5 stars, I can't. Why? The story ends in a mega cliffhanger and I am in total shock. All I want is to ask the author.... What did you do?! Why?? This was a 4 star read for me.

This is the second book in the series and it is the first one I have read. I did not realize at the time that they are to be read in order, so I was a bit confused as to where the story was taking place. Also it is noted at the end that there will be a book 3 in the series.
Warning: this book has some very disturbing content, so if you have triggers you may not want to read this book.
Kylee has been kidnapped by a person very close to her….sort of. I was a bit confused on where they were in the story since it didn’t describe the location. It did grip my attention right away with the tension of Kylee waking up after being kidnapped.
Alex is part of a Delta force team assigned to rescue Kylee. Not only is Kylee Alex’s girlfriend, but she is also the daughter of a Coronel.
There was a lot going on in the story. There were dream like flashbacks to Kylee’s past while she is being tortured and also she often dreamt of her relationship with Alex. Unfortunately there were some gaps in the story and things that didn’t make sense…the biggest being why Kylee’s father didn’t mention her mother’s background….that didn’t seem to make sense to me, but overall it was a good suspense filled story.

In the first book of the series, the groundwork is laid for the relationship between Alex, or Alexander James Grant, a Captain in the Army who is also the leader of a Delta force team. He meets and falls for Kylee, a colonel's daughter and a teacher.We learn of her past, and how horrific her upbringing was.
At the beginning of Bound, Alex has been called to an important job with his unit. As he sits and listens to the briefing, he realizes in horror that the kidnapped colonel's daughter just happens to be his Kylee. Not knowing who has her makes it all that much worse, and her own father wants in on the operation.
Meanwhile, someone close to Kylee turns out to be the perpetrator, and proceeds to rain down all sorts of brutal torture on her. (Warning: Some of this is graphic and may offend some readers) But Alex and his team do what they have to do to get to the bottom of who has her, and that means anything.
There are some truly cringe-worthy moments here, some definite hanky ones too, but all in all, a book so very hard to put down once you have picked it up. Renteria weaves a mesmerizing tale, and I for one am holding my breath waiting for the final installment.

This book contains intense scenes of torture, detailed description of miscarriage and is a cliffhanger
Alex is Delta, he eats, breathes and lives his job. When he becomes involved with Kylee this changes. He can't help,but feel this connection thatnisnchwnging some of who,has has always been. When He finds out Kylee is kidnapped he is ready to do whatever it takes to find her and bring her home to him.
This story was very intense. It is characterized as a dark romance but be prepared for a very detailed and twisted story, but underneath all of it is a beautiful love story that is written so well. The various emotions I experienced while reading this story caused me to hold my breath, and also at times I had to take a step back because the intensity was so strong I needed to catch my breath. I loved both Kylee and Alex, as well as their connection. I didn't realize when I started this was a cliffhanger and there is one more book to complete their story. I guess I will need to read the next book so I find out what happens to this couple and the rest of Alex's team.

The various emotions I experienced while reading this story caused me to hold my breath, and also at times I had to take a step back because the intensity was so strong I needed to catch my breath. I loved both Kylee and Alex, as well as their connection. I didn't realize when I started this was a cliffhanger and there is one more book to complete their story. I guess I will need to read the next book so I find out what happens to this couple and the rest of Alex's team.

I'm really loving this series. I didn't know book 1 or book 2 was a cliffhanger until the last page of each book but the story is so great it's worth the weight. This is the authors first work but you would never know that. The book is full of details, lots of suspense and plenty of angst. I love how she didn't skip over a brothers death because of the victory of the rescue. My only complaint is enough with the Goddess crap. Yuck!! I've never ever heard a man call his girl that as a term of endearment but especially every other word. Too much!!! Great book tho. Definitely deserving of the 5 stars I gave

Bound by Blood is book 2 in the series and I highly recommend grabbing the first in the series. The story is thrilling, dark and emotional. Kylie and Alex are well developed characters and the chemistry is there. Watching Alex battle himself is heartbreaking but he does what he feels he must do. Does end in a cliffhanger and hoping book 3 comes soon.

So much happened in this book. There were definitely a few parts that had me cringing. The writing was great but the content was intense in some parts. It was a change of pace though and I liked that. I would like to personally strangle Kylee's mom. What a wicked witch!!! Her time is coming. I know it. I just hope it's everything she deserves. I loved how all the guys took to calling Kylee Godess. It was so sweet seeing such big, tough men weakened by the loss of ones lady. I'm shocked to know what's gonna come in the next book. I'm so ready for Kylee to be able to put her past in her past once and for all so she can live a happy life with Alex.
