This is a classic example of the old adage that home is where the heart is. If that is the case then this book is my home. I loved it for its depth of characters yet ease of flow. As it was coming to a close in a dramatic fashion I was saddened that this beautiful story was coming to an end, and then I looked up and saw that this was the first in a series and I was happy again.

This story takes place in a small town where everyone knows everyone and you can’t do anything without everyone knowing about it. I have always dreamed of living in a town like this for some reason, maybe because it seems like one great big family. That’s the vibe I got while reading this book.

The characters made me laugh and swoon a little. Leah has spent the past couple of years dealing with the fallout of a family issue when she asked to move to Cedarville by her friend Carly to help her open a dance studio. She is introduced to those closest to Carly, including her cousin Brandon and these people soon become very important to her, especially Brandon. Their story is full of sparks and everything you could want but not everything is great. Someone is out to hurt Leah and it is up to Brandon to find him.

This was such a good book that I want to yell it from the mountain tops to treat yourself. I am waiting with bated breath for the next book. I am looking forward to watching some of these people squirm as they come to the realizations that we as the readers already know. It should be very entertaining.

An Unexpected Home (A Cedarville Novel) by Bree Kraemer is a four star read for me.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I have really enjoyed it. Even though at first I found it hard to connect with the book I soon found I was getting along better with it. A really nice and easy storyline with a hard hitting subject. This book reduced me to tears. The storyline was done really well. I went through so many emotions whilst reading about Leah and Brandons story together. I'm really looking forward to reading more by this author. I feel as though there were a few things unanswered which I hope to find out about in the next book in the series. I loved reading this book but I felt at times it just seemed to slow down to a halt for a while before picking back up again.

I liked the characters but at times felt like the main character was made a bit too depressing in retro spec. I enjoyed reading about the characters none-the-less. It didn't put me off reading the book it was just something that niggled at me. This book was full of different emotions with many twists and turns in the book that will keep you guessing what is going to happen till the very end.

I'm going to be keeping my eye on this author for sure. I hope you all like the book as much as I did. Good read. I'm looking forward to see what else this author can come up with.

I will definitely be recommending this authors work to friends and family. A really enjoyable read

It's fairly boring. The characters are ok and I do like the girls interactions for the most part, but there's some dumbing down to make the story drag out... and then to bring it to an end, the H & h both have TSTL moments, we have a few bit of a saga moments and then we are done with questions still hanging about.

There's LOTS of sex to fill out the page count, but not much really happens throughout.

Another author who uses ‘that’ instead of ‘who’. It’s intensely irritating, as is the overuse of ‘that’ in general...A search of my Kindle says there are over 1000 'that's in this novel. Thats a LOT of 'that's - most of which are little more than padding!! In the end my eye was automatically drawn to each 'that' and I stopped reading. The writing is stilted and Leah seems to be one of those ‘sassy’ women who are just plain obnoxious. Not continuing. Dnf at 4 %

Okay read

Slow and sluggish to start and took a while to get into it. Characters were a bit wishy washy and it was a predictable outcome. Not a keeper.

This is the first book in the Cedarville series by Ms Kraemer and it’s a pretty good start. Cedarville is in small-town Ohio. Like all small towns, everyone knows everyone else and all of their business. At first, Leah is hesitant to move from NYC to Cedarville even though she’s looking for a fresh start. You see her father and uncle have made it near impossible for her to continue living in NYC. You’d think that as large as NYC is she could get lost in the crowds. Nope, what happened to her family, or rather, what her family did to others is so heinous that Leah can’t go anywhere without people taunting her. How much worse would it be in a small town like Cedarville? She’s about to find out…..

Brandon is the first person that Leah meets. Well, that’s not quite accurate. Leah moved to Cedarville after her two best friends talked her into it, so it’s not like she doesn’t know people in Cedarville. Brandon is actually the first person she sees when she gets to Cedarville. He happens to be at his cousin’s house taking care of her dog, Max, when he hears someone rustling around on the front porch. It’s three o’clock in the morning! Whoever it is out there is up to no good. Brandon, being Cedarville’s chief of police, is not about to let someone break into Carly’s house.

This is a short book and things happen quickly, like within a month’s time. So, is there inst-love/connection between Brandon and Leah. Yep. Are there quick set-ups for future books? You betcha. If you’re looking for an afternoon read with some interesting characters, small-town charm, and just a little bit of intrigue you may want to check this one out.

An Unexpected Home: A Cedarville Novel (Book 1) by Bree Kraemer 5 stars

Leah’s best friend Carly has invited her to town after Leah has had a bad couple of years. Cedarville is an idyllic small town where everyone is welcome and “everyone knows everyone else and people were nice, like really nice. Almost nauseatingly so.” (Sounds like a great place to live).

Brandon is the acting police chief and is Carly’s cousin and he is the first person to greet Leah when she comes to town. “How come I never knew you had a hot male cousin?” Leah asks Carly.
Leah joins Carly and Melanie in running a dance studio and she is hoping to move on from her past. She has come to Cedarville for a fresh start, but unfortunately her past catches up to her for a bit and she must rely on others to help her through.

This story has it all. Inta-love, a little suspense, a lot of great banter between friends (I’m so grateful I have a similar group of friends in my life) and characters that I just know are going to have great stories also.

The Cedarville Series reminds me of a Jill Shalvis or Marie Force series. The small town romance, the recurring characters, the desire to get to know everyone in town. I would classify these as “beach reads” for the summer because they are easy and breezy. This is definitely a series that I would recommend to my mom (as long as she skipped through the sexy parts...hehe)

Meet Leah, a 28-year-old woman who has been handed a crappy hand in life and just wants to escape. After her father and uncle are put in prison, her college roommate convinces her to move to her small town to live with her and her new roommate.

Now, this is where the stereotypical happens. Who answers the door at her friend's house? None other than her smoking hot cousin, Brandon. "I know this is fast, but I can't help how you make me feel." "I feel the same way. It's like we were meant to find each other." I would be more nauseated if the book wasn't so dang good.

In the midst of all this falling in love and having sex (And yes, there is a LOT of sex. Pretty graphic sex for your everyday run of the mill novel. Unless it's just me since I'm usually more of a YA girl) there's also a very angry man trying to come after Leah. The crime part takes pretty much a background role until the last few chapters and then BAM!

Overall, this was a 4 star book. It wasn't Shakespeare or anything, but I enjoyed it. But Jayme, you only rated it 3 stars??? Yes, my friends, because the editing was AWFUL. I get it. Books have mistakes. One. Two. Even three. But this book had SO. MANY. GRAMMAR. MISTAKES. Calling someone the wrong name (Literally, something along the lines of "Carly tried calling but Carly wouldn't pick up the phone.") was cringe-worthy enough. But when almost every single "your" that is used was spelled "you're", that's where I draw the line. Hopefully it was just my copy, but it was a Kindle copy, not just some random PDF. Oh well.

TL;DR: Decent book. Typical love story. Lots of sex. Terrible editing on the Kindle version.

What is there not to love about small towns, everyone knows everyone, they help each other, the bad side is they know everything about everyone and you just can’t get away with much. Three women move to town to start a business, Leah hopes to find herself and put some issues behind her. Things aren’t always that easy since the past she is trying to outrun comes back and bites her.

The Attraction between her and Brandon is from the start, they can’t seem to keep their hands off each other. Which leads to some very hot sex scenes. They are very likable characters and a believable plot. I thought the writing was good, I enjoyed the twists and turns along with the danger. The question is will their love last or will Leah’s past tear it about. She has to trust in someone looks like Brandon will be the one she lays her cards out for.

The story is interesting it isn’t a book I couldn’t put down but it is a story that holds your attention. A cute read that made me smile and laughs. I loved the humor and the wit the author gives it. I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series.

I actually started the series out of order having found "Better Together" (book #4 in the series) on Bookbub for free. I enjoyed that book, so went looking for the other books in the series.

I found book 1, An Unexpected Home for free on Amazon, which was a nice surprise. I spend way too much on books and when authors make their books free it just makes my day. Using Bookbub, I have found many good authors who listed a book for free. Trying to watch my spending, I have been getting most of my books this way for the past couple of years. I may never have found these really good authors otherwise. I appreciate the free books as well as that is money not in the author's pocket.

I enjoyed An Unexpected Home very much. I like all the secondary characters and their relationships with each other. You know they will each be getting their own books and I look forward to reading them and learning more about these characters.

WOW! 5+++++ stars! This is a one of a kind read. Spectacular!! This story really did a number on me. I love it so much. It has a little bit of everything all rolled into one of the sweetest edge of your seat storylines I have ever read. The author did an incredible job developing each character and their story. It's so well written that you can very easilly see it in your mind's eye as it progresses along. There's some betryal, awkwardness, a good bit of humor, steamy, lots of love to go around and even a bit of stalking to make things interesting and keep you on your toes. An Unexpected Home is a story that you just have to experience for yourself to understand why I love it so much. I highly recommend this book!

This is the start a series of stand alone books. Each book about different characters in then town of Cedarville, Ohio. I really enjoyed reading this book, that I couldn't put in down and read it in less than a day. Leah's life has been turned upside down and leaves New York City to go help her college friend run her business. She's not looking for love but finds it when she meets for friend's cousin. I was given an ARC for an honest review. Bree is a new is a new author to me and I can't wait to get started on the next book.

Good Plot – Graphic Sex
This story has an exceptionally good plot. Unfortunately, there is a lot of graphic sex that caused me to skip about a third of the book. This writer is skilled at her craft and did not need to resort to smut to fill the pages. For that reason alone, I will not be buying anymore of her books. Unless, of course, she starts releasing clean and smutty versions of the same book. Hint, Hint.

A great small town romance. Small towns are awesome because everyone is always in your business and it makes for funny times. In this case the hunky Chief makes it worth it as Brandon and the new chic in town Leah who just happens to be his cousins room mate. Even though I am not a big fan of insta love I do enjoy one that at least comes with a good story and this story is pretty good, with loads of hot steamy scenes since these two can't keep their hands to themselves. But this isn't just about those two and the drama Leah brings with her, there is more with the antics of room mates and brothers and friends. Loads of laughter and good times had by all.

Unexpected Home is the first in a the new Cedarville series. Wow...wow it is amazing. Bree Kramer has written a story about main street America in a quaint small town. Think a Norman Rockwell painting with hot guys and gals. This is a town where everyone knows you and your business but in a good way. They have your back. But there is something bad in Cedarville and the town police chief can't quite put his finger on it. Bree Kramer writes with exacting crisp detail and alot of emotion. Her character development is spot on you know and care about these people. Brandon and Leah are perfect for each other. He is the police chief and she is trying to restart her life and someone is stalking her from her old life. This is a feel good story and you will relate and love these characters. I loved this story and will continue to finish this series. You need to read and remember this author.

This one was just okay for me.

I liked the small town feel it had & I thought the characters were charming but... it was just missing something. A little more excitement & descriptive sex/longer sex scenes would've rocked my socks off. *hint hint for future installments*

I'm interested in seeing how things will unfold for both Logan & Melanie and Tony & Carly but they won't be "gotta-have it-right-now" one-clicks for me.

Heartwarming love story with a twist!!!

This was the first book that I've read by this author. Also, the first book in the series. I loved Brandon and Leah's story, they were so meant to be together. It was so fun getting to know them and I felt like I was part of their journey. This was a heartwarming love story with a twist of mystery and suspense. I can't wait to read what is next. This is a must read.

5 stars is not enough for this story - absolutely loved it! This one is Leah's story and boy what a story she has to share. It is one of those stories you just can't put down and sucks you in from the very beginning. You will find yourself totally immersed and living the story along with her and her friends. Bree Kraemer definitely knows how to tell a story and make it so realistic. Loved the drama, suspense, romance, friendships, community/town unity, etc. - an awesome story all around. Looking forward to reading more about this town and its interesting and great characters.

This book is so amazing. I love the details of the little town. The characters are very relatable and amazing with each other. When she meets the sheriff who is hot as can be, she is instantly attracted to him. So pick up this book and find out just how hot the sheriff is and what these friends will go through.

Leah comes to Cederville to get away from all the gossip, harassment and more after family is sent to jail , when her friend Carly invites her to work at the dance studio. But I don't think she was planning on meeting a gorgeous man answering the door to her friends house. (She later calls him a Greek God). Brandon never plans on meeting a woman who changes his mind about serious relationships. The interaction between characters is wonderful, you never know what is going to pop out of any of the girl's mouths at anytime and I LOVE it This is a book that gets even better the more that you read it and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series

Very good

I almost didn't read this book. Since I get so many free I only now choose the ones with at least four and a half stars. This one has four. At the time I got it I was still getting the ones with four star ratings. I have so many that I'm still reading books from over a year ago. Now I usually just skip over the four star rated ones. I'm glad that I decided to read this one. It's has a good balance of romance, intrigue and action. The character and story building are great.
