Continuing the award-winning Weapon of Flesh series. Assassins at war… A bloody guild war was the last thing Mya wanted. She nearly had it Lady T’s endorsement as Grandmaster of the Assassins Guild, the emperor’s gratitude, and finally someone who made her feel human... Now Lady T is dead, the emperor asks a favor that Mya dare not refuse, and Dee expects more from her than just friendship. It doesn’t help that a cabal of assassins prefers an Imperial Grandmaster over an upstart from Twailin. What she doesn’t know is that the rebel factions want more from her than just the Grandmaster’s ring. Everyone wants something from Mya, but how much can she give before it kills her?
From the sea to the stars, Chris A. Jackson’s stories take you to the far reaches of the imagination. Raised on the back deck of a fishing boat and trained as a marine biologist, he became sidetracked by a career in biomedical research, but regained his heart and soul in 2009 when he and his wife Anne left the dock aboard the 45-foot sailboat Mr Mac to cruise the Caribbean and write fulltime. With his nautical background, writing sea stories seemed inevitable for Chris. His acclaimed Scimitar Seas nautical fantasies won three consecutive Gold Medals in the ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year Awards. His Pathfinders Tales from Paizo Publishing combine high-seas combat and romance set in the award-winning world of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Not to be outdone, Privateer Press released Blood & Iron, a swashbuckling novella set in the Iron Kingdoms. Chris’ repertoire also includes the award-winning and Kindle best-selling Weapon of Flesh Series, the contemporary urban fantasy Dragon Dreams, as well as additional fantasy novels, the humorous sci fi Cheese Runners trilogy of novellas, and numerous short stories. Mya can't catch a break, even surrounded by her own people and Guild - she's still alone. Another great entry into the Weapon of Flesh series, more action, plots, scheming and betrayal. Old friends return, new friends become enemies...
Man I need to sit down and re-read the whole series. They really do flow well together. But seriously, that ending....
I read the series again, up to Weapon of Pain, when the last book came out a few weeks ago....the wait for the final book has been TORTURE!!!. I don't re-read a series often, but the Jacksons are up there with Sarah J Mass, Jeff Wheeler, Brandon Mull, George Martin, Rick Riordan and Brandon Sanderson. The story line and character development is superb. I've cried, laughed, bit my nails and had to stop reading at times to let my heart stop pounding like a race horse on caffeine. I'm off to read Weapon of Mercy.....won't you join me? 😏
