For Seattle blogger Payton James, life is all about trying to achieve perfection. Payton is determined to be her best self in all areas, and she refuses to rest until she achieves it.
However, an imperfect moment in a coffee shop completely changes Payton’s life. When her drink order gets switched by mistake, Payton finds herself face-to-face with a gorgeous British man named Brooks. Payton is instantly attracted to the witty stranger who is quick with his words—and has a beautiful smile.
Brooks is an exotic veterinarian with a huge passion for animals. Heartache in his past has led him to focusing on his career out of fear of getting hurt again. But there’s something about Payton that makes this vet want to know more about the bubbly blogger he has met via fate—and has him reconsidering his stance on love.
But will Brooks ever be free of his fears to truly open his heart? And will Payton’s drive for perfection cost her the one thing she loves most? Or will she learn to embrace imperfections?
And maybe perfect is the one thing Payton doesn’t want after all . . .

Aven lives in the Dallas area with her family. Aven loves shopping and fashion and can spend hours playing with fragrances in any department store. She can be found chatting it up on social media, eating speciality M&Ms, and crushing on the latest outfit the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing.
Have you ever read anything by Aven Ellis? Trust me, you are missing out on romance with heart and humor, fabulous characters and always a twist or two in the plot that feels like walking on hot coals of emotional turmoil.
Payton is a fashion and lifestyle Seattle blogger, trying to prove to both herself and her family of over-achievers that she can make it on her own, blazing her own trail. They have made sure to let her know how frivolous and irresponsible she is being, but she’s happy with her choices and willing to pay her dues to achieve the following and income she wants.
Rule number one, always start out with a Green Tea Latte To Go, but what she receives is someone else’s order and that someone is hot, amazing and British! Meanwhile to make ends meet until her big break in blogging, she takes a position in a chaotic young family’s home. Her first duty is taking the family pig to the vet to have his hooves trimmed. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Payton is determined to get that little porker into that office, no matter how much he squeals! And there, right in front of her stands the most beautiful man in the world, with the sexiest British accent, you guessed it, Dr. Dreamy is the “wrong latte guy.” Brooks is stunned to see the little spitfire from the morning right there in his veterinarian’s office. The rest, as they say, is history in the making!
Grab a few tissues, divide them in two, tears of laughter on the right (make this the biggest pile) and tears of frustration and sadness on the left. Aven Ellis is back with a cast of charming characters, heartwarming exotic animals, night time emergencies at the worst time and love, sweet love! Not that either Brooks or Payton are about to admit what their hearts feel, because really, poor Payton feels Brooks needs someone perfect like him and Brooks has been hurt so badly, he is gun shy, very gun shy.
Fuzzy, scaly animals, a couple of little pigs, newborn kittens and Payton’s completely dysfunctional family adds to the chaos of two souls who dance around that four letter word, love. Start to finish, Aven Ellis will have you under her spell. Her ability to be able to turn mere words into a ray of sunshine and hope is magical! Will Brooks and Payton continue to dance around their feelings until pigs fly or will they accept what the fates have decreed and be one of the best couples ever? Love this feel good tale! I was grinning like a Cheshire cat throughout this fun read!

My Thoughts on Green Tea Latte To Go by Aven Ellis
I always love books by Aven and when this book came flying into my cluttered inbox, my heart soared. All her books are adorable, but in particular I loved premise of this one.
The main character, Payton, is a blogger, a blogger who loves her planner, a blogger who loves her planner and falls in love with a vet. I think Aven wrote this one just for me!
There was a lot of humour, a couple I connected with instantly, and a relationship that moved at just the right pace. Payton and Brooks are adorable together. Of course they had challenges.
But they knew their relationship sparkled and so worked on through the obstacles. As I'm allergic to over the top drama in romance books, I can safely diagnosis this book as getting the balance just right.
It's about family and career as much as it is about the swoons though. And I loved how passionate and ambitious Payton was about her blog despite the frowns from her family about its suitability as a sustainable long-term career. As a blogger who 'gets' what creative joy feels like, I emotionally connected to this storyline. So much.
Overall a very satisfying book with a fun blogging theme and no shortage of heart-melting moments. And clean, very clean. Which is refreshing, as despite current trends, I don't think romance books need to have overly detailed sex scenes. I find the emotional intensity and character growth so much more satisfying.
Who should read Green Tea Latte To Go by Aven Ellis?
I'm always excited when its time to read a new Aven Ellis, as she is fast becoming one of my must read instantly authors, and having just devoured Green Tea Latte To Go I was completely correct to be excited. It is what Aven does best a gorgeous story, with fantastic characters that is a joy to read.
It took a while this time but I do at the end of this story have another new book boyfriend, this time its exotic vet Brooks. When you put a handsome man together with various cute animals, my heart can't help but melt at the imagery. He is of course for a vet an animal lover, and his pig Angus is a a real character, but it was the lionhead rabbit that had me googling to see what unusual breed it is.
Angus however isn't the only pig in this story, Mr Not Bacon is a star too, and what a great name for a pet pig! He belongs to Courtney who becomes Payton's exclusive concierge customer, which is what she does in addition to her blogging. Mr Not Bacon has a mind of his own, and a predilection for breakfast cereal!
Payton strives for perfection in her life, each chapter opens with her latest aim for self improvement, however she soons learn that maybe imperfection could be better.
However Payton's parents are not keen on her current career, and are continually finding fault in everything she does. They are the only characters I wasn't keen on, but I don't think they were meant to be that likeable!
There are so many moments in this book where you will either find yourself saying "aww how cute" or possibly "that is one amazing man" at various moments. I also laughed out loud a various points too, as some of the antics both human and animal are just that hilarious.
An incredibly enjoyable story, which shows very closely the slight differences between UK and USA culture and language, as well as having a delectable main man who is utterly brilliant!
Thank you so much to Aven Ellis for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.

Green Tea Latte To Go marks the start of another series by Aven Ellis. The series is called Life, Love and Lattes and this time there is no hockey involved. As a big hockey fan, that might seem disappointing, but it’s not. Aven gives her books another touch like this and this book is still fabulous, let me tell you why.
The story follows Payton James, Duchess Kate and Lifestyle blogger. She is a full time blogger and works as a concierge to earn enough money to make her blogs successful. That’s her life. Her family doesn’t approve, but she doesn’t care. It’s in a coffee shop, where she meets Brooks, their orders get mixed up.
I love the scene when they meet for the first time. The sparks between them fly immediately. The scene is funny, flirty and exciting.
Brooks is an exotic vet, half British, half American and he loves his black coffee. He has a big heart and loves animals. He is also very passionate about his job and that was difficult in the past. Can he get past that and commit to a relationship?!
I have to say that both characters are not really relatable for me and I don’t mean that in a bad way, it’s actually refreshing. Yes, I’m a blogger too, but that’s about it when it comes to similarities between me and Payton. She loves the outdoors and wants to make blogging her career. Brooks of course loves animals and the outdoors too, he is very attractive and everything, but I guess not really my type. What they both want in a relationship though is what made me relate to them and I think they have a lot of chemistry, which made this story a pleasure to read. I love the flirty and humorous banter between them and Aven has put that in to writing in a perfect way.
You also learn a lot about animals and exotic pets, it’s very interesting and bring this book on a new level. I love how much humour Aven has put in this book and there is still enough space for all the feelings and the emotions. We can read exactly what Payton is going through, it’s like being right next to her. The same goes with Brooks, he is thoughtful, vulnerable, passionate and much more.
Misunderstandings and dramas add some more excitement to this story and I really have to say I didn’t like Payton’s mom and dad, because they made things difficult for Payton, but she was strong! Brooks on the other hand supports Payton and also takes the next step. It was interesting to see how he doubted himself, but Payton really changed things in him.
I really adored how their relationship developed in this book, the storyline is beautiful and there were some magical moments for sure. Aven’s writing has it all: passion, love, humour, heart, sparks and much more. This book is an AMAZING start to this new series set in Seattle!!! I can’t wait for the next book!!!
Maybe I wasn't in the right mindset for this book, but I didn't enjoy it. Or maybe I'm too old to like it. I'm not sure. Whatever the reason may be, nearly everything about this book annoyed me. The h sounded like a 15 girl. Honestly. All the ohhhhhhhhing and ahhhhhhhhing about everything. And she just tells you what she thinks. A lot.
If you're looking to read something light and easy, you might enjoy this. As it is, I think this is where Ms. Ellis and I part ways. I like that all of her books are sweet, relatively low on angsty drama, and most of the Hs are down to earth nice guys who aren't manwhores, but the reality is that I can't stand the h in most of her stories. They're too light and fluffy, try too hard to be funny, and her books are told only from their povs.
If you want a fun, easy, heartwarming and captivating story then this is your book.. I mean whats not to love between a blogger, a veterinarian and a pig? yup you read that right! Miss Ellis gives you all of that in this hilarious book!
Another cute rom com romance from Aven Ellis! I especially love that it's set in my city <33 and there are so many fun details and nods to the Pacific NW. Basically... if you like hot British vets and cute animals, you'll want to read this sweet romance! Full review to come.
2.5. Least favorite of all of Aven's books. A fun drinking game: take a shot every time Payton says "the feels" or "fur babies." Congratulations, you are now drunk.
This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free for a Blog Tour in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you to Aven not only for a copy of this book but for letting me run the tour for this book to. I adore Aven’s writing and I am lucky enough to be a Beta reader for her.
Payton James is a perfectionist. She’s spent a long time striving to be perfect and in her eyes failing. Payton runs 2 blogs. One about her favourite Royal Princess Kate and one lifestyle blog. To assist with paying the bills until her blogs become profitable Payton works as a concierge. In this book we see Payton become a concierge for Courtney and her family.
I love Courtney’s family. It’s crazy and messy and everything I hope my family will be when I grow up.
When Payton’s order at the Coffee shop gets mixed up she meets Brooks. Brooks is a hot exotic vet. He doesn’t work the usual 9-5 hours and sometimes gets called away unexpectedly. Brooks got his heart broken because of his working schedule and he’s feared that it will always ruin his relationships.
There are some extremely funny scenes in this book that will honestly have you in tears. Aven’s writing is witty, compelling and addictive. This book will leave you with a case of the warm fuzzies.
I can’t wait for more from Aven and definitely the next book in this series.
Although her parents thought that Payton is ridiculous and not approve her blogging career, Payton still thinks that she will succeed. Payton is an independent girl who endeavors and wants perfections, whether that be her looking or achievements in her career, even her green tea latte is perfectly chosen to be the perfect drink for her.
One day Payton goes in her usual coffee shop and orders her green tea latte, but she gets coffee which is not her but Brooks’ a perfect Englishman with beautiful brown eyes.
I like this book like all Aven Ellis’s books that I’ve read, because of it with her recognizable calm tone, enthusiastic story line, and sparkle and breathing new character.Yes, breathing because Ellis brings life in her characters they are like breathing, alive persons. I like the light way and like delightful Payton.
Payton is a girl like every girl in the world ambitious, trendsetter, a girl with style. I like how she manage to accomplish all her aspirations.
Brooks is every woman’s dream boyfriend. He knows what he wants and what doesn’t want, he knows how to conquest the girl’s heart.
I recommend this book to everyone who wants to read light, heart melting funny books, to everyone who believes that true love can defeat all obstacles.
This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
It was a bit bland for me. I like a bit of drama in my stories. Nothing really happened. This had little to NO angst. There was a small argument at 90% or so and was solved in a paragraph or two.
I LOVED this book! It was the perfect mix of flirty, sexy, sweet, funny, and romantic. Exotic pet vet Brooks is the ultimate British gentleman who knows how to make a lady feel special, loved and enough just as she is. Plus, he’s a total animal lover. Fashion blogger Payton just wants to be perfect in the eyes of her family, but Brooks teaches her that she is perfect just the way she is. From their chance meeting at a coffee house, their attraction is immediate. Then, fate brought Payton into his vet office, which led to sparks, and a Half-English breakfast. This book had me laughing out loud, swooning over Brooks, feeling for Payton and falling right along with them. I absolutely love Aven Ellis’ style of writing. Her humor-laced romance, and real characters keep me wanting more! This is my second book by Aven, and it definitely won’t be my last.
Pigs, Rabbits, Cats, Dogs, Kate Middleton, and Sherlock
Opposites attract single point of view Standalone Payton is a concierge and blogger in Seattle striving for perfection and Kate Middleton’s style when she meets Brooks a vet over a mistaken coffee order. Brooks has been burned by a love in the past whose standards didn’t meet his lifestyle goals. Can he and Payton work or will perfection destroy their future? Laughed out loud several times at the animal antics and chaos Payton embroils herself in. The couple was super cute and you are roofing for them all the way. Felt the timeline was off and the couple was too sweet at times.
Oh my goodness, I loved this book so much! I read it all in one morning and I don’t think a smile left my face the whole time.
Payton is a blogger and a Concierge, and loves what she does, her family on the other hand think she needs a serious job!
Brooks is a British exotic vet! He loves what he does, and after meeting Payton twice in one day, he gives her his number!
What follows is two people who are uncertain of how a real relationship works, one who has had their heart broken and one who likes everything perfect! What follows is a story of two people trying to find their way in the world of love and perfection!
Perfectly cute is all I can say about the story of Payton and Brooks. From the fur babies to the blogging there is nothing plain about it. There were moments of clarity pertaining to how life takes someone in a different direction, and hilarious moments with pigs and a toddler. This is another must read!
Thought it would be another boy meets girl story. The characters are well developed and believable. Family life is believable. Cute animal characters as well. Great feel good story
Why can't I meet a British man in a cafe?! This is what I want to happen in my life, and Payton definitely gets that. The story is very organic and how it develops for Payton and Brooks. There's was a great story to follow along to, and I wished there was a sequel to this book!
Cute, but slight. Set in Seattle, this romance between a blogger and a British veterinarian is filled with sprightly dialog and funny contemporary cultural references. Good for a day at the beach.
This is a fun and pleasant romance. Payton is a little bit quirky but delightful character. Brooks is the perfect mate for her. He's supportive and gives her confidence.
