David was born and schooled in the North of England. After gaining a BSc in Psychology at the University of Manchester, he enjoyed a successful and diverse career as a freelance journalist and magazine editor, publishing and computer consultant, trainer and music critic.

I am still reading the book, but I have to admit it is "outstanding brilliance". As a beginner in photography, I keep learning the basics from courses and book. This one hits in definitions and illustrations . I guess it is a must have reference book for any photography enthusiast or may be professionals too (here, I don't really know).
