Wanita May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario - St.Catharines. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.
The youngest of six -- four older brothers, and a sister -- taught her at a young age to be competitive in all aspects of life.
At sixteen, she began competing in athletics (track and field) and before she turned seventeen, she was representing Canada in high jump. She continued to compete, breaking Canada's JR High Jump record (1.92m - 6' 3 1/2" for those metric-ly challenged). She attented University of Toronto, and Kansas State University - winning CIAU's and becoming All-American 6x - NCAA Indoors Runner Up + more.
But you're not interested in her athletic career - unless of course you're curious to know she stands 1.70m (5'7") and has jumped 20cm over her head on more than one occassion. She's represented Canada at the World Championships, World Jrs., won Francophone Games, and loved every minute of every competition. From the grueling workouts, the crazy weights she lifted on her back, the days she thought her lungs were going to spit out of her mouth for lack of oxygen, the travelling around the world and the opportunity to read - her favourite past time.
Life continued with her husband (a distance runner from Liverpool, UK, who she met at KSU) and then their first, then second and finally third child. Their house became full of more imagination and stories.
Wanita and her husband run an online business, dealing in antiques and collectables - particularly jewelry and porcelain (one of the business' website: www.wadeincanada.com ).
After her father passed away in 2009, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she'd loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.
Her first book, Rae of Hope - from the Chronicles of Kerrigan - will be available October 2011 by kNight Romance Publishing.
She is currently represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Wanita is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.
Into the Darkness is all about Simon still trying to master his tatù. So far, it's not going so great.. but someone does want him dead? Again, this book had some pretty good twists and turns. Yet, Simon is just so annoying to me know. I feel like his friendship with Tristan, although a bit sudden and weird, made him a bit more likable.
Both were cocky bitches, but together Tristan makes Simon likeable. It could just be me though.
After that ending, I'm wondering what is going to happen next. I definitely need more of Beth, just saying.
Simon is getting stronger with his tatu and after a while hears from tristan one of the guys has to leave since it is his younger brother who got the tatu instead of him.this new guy jacob can see the future with his vision and simon has a dream about beth and their future.of how their relationship has changed and beth setting herself on fire.after an attempt made on his and jacobs life they find out about another boy who was killed in another town who was a hybrid and would probably have a rare tatu or unknown tatu and from there simon changes, loving power, becoming a bit of a tyrant

An intriguing, paranormal & urban fantasy. After the assassination attempt on him, Simon Kerrigan begins questioning everything about Gilder and the Privy Council. Uncertain about whom he can trust, he and other students form a secret society to discuss the issues. Beth, Simon's girlfriend, makes a few cameo appearances.
This title chronicles the beginning of Simon's fall into darkness. It does an effective job of highlighting the issues that led him there. Most of which are his personality. This tale ends abruptly. Nevertheless, this is a high-quality backstory for the series which follow in the time frame.
Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Romantic. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.
So the story gets more involved, and I can see where he feels his dreams/ideals/wants are more important than others thoughts and feelings, which leads to form of selfishness, that he feels he can do whatever to accomplish. The path he is taking becomes murky. And with Tristan not remembering their fight, that can become interesting if he ever remembers. I can actually see why Tristan aka Mr Wardell actually feels the way he does about Simon in Rae's story.
Superb writing! It's refreshing that the hero of the story isn't exactly a hero in the common sense of the term. He's not overtly perfect or charming. He's struggling to find himself and figure out his new world. Rarely does a story captivate me enough to have me want to continue reading and get me pulled into the story. This series does. Can't wait to finish it and read the rest of the C.O.K. stories.
Into the Darkness by W.J. May was another great Read in the Chronicles of Kerrigan series. I loved reading some of the questions Simon and others have after there was an attempt on his life. This book helps you understand why people fear the name Kerrigan. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
the tatu receiving age is 16 and only per family? then why did the younger brother get the tatu on the older brother's birthday? If the first years have a tatu then why was Argyle 1.5 years away from his but he and Simon were the same year until Simon gets to skip a year and then gets his ink. there is no consistency
I received this book for free for a honest review. I loved the characters and storyline. it flowed very well and held together. I love Beth and her character. Jason is amazing as well!!! The narrator did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. highly reccomend
This book takes you back to the beginning of how people became to fear the name Kerrigan. It's a great book. I loved that I got a chance to see the beginning of how things got started.
