Jess is on the hunt for more wanted men on his list. His travels eventually take him to the town of Hamburg, Texas, where he runs into an impetuous young kid by the name of Junior. The kid is seventeen and fancies himself as a seasoned gunslinger. He is pushed along by his two friends to challenge Jess to a gunfight. Jess tries his best to ignore the kid, but before he rides out of Hamburg, Junior forces his hand.
In an unusual move and against his own survival instincts, Jess purposely wounds Junior, hoping it might teach the kid a lesson. He rides out of Hamburg on the hunt for a killer and bank robber by the name of Edmond Musk. He finds himself engaged in a gun battle with Musk and his partner when Junior suddenly shows up in the middle of it.
Jess allows Junior to ride with him long enough to get him safely back to Hamburg where his intentions are to leave him there, but Junior refuses to part ways. Jess find himself having to teach Junior right from wrong so he might be able to survive to see his eighteenth birthday, but Junior’s reckless attitude and temper keep getting in the way, making Jess’s job of hunting the worst of men more difficult than ever.

The stories are each different but with the same goal of a man. I’m reading the insights to a great story of a bounty hunter that certainly lived a purpose to his work
The kid got on my nerves. Too bad he didn’t get his in the first chapter. Usually the characters are interesting or funny, but this junior was just a pain in rear. On to the next one.
I am a big fan of Jess Williams books. The situations that he seam to get into make the book fun reading. I am always looking forward to reading the next book. I like the sense of humour that goes along with each book it gives the book more character.
Crazy hot head with quick temper. Jess takes him under his wing and teaches him about life and what it means to be a good man. Great ending to another story.
Well I sure would like to have someone like Jess for a friend. One who will always help if needed. Just call I'll be there as fast as I can get there. Jd
Well Jess has a new recruit, Junior whose trying to make a name for himself, by shooting Jess Williams. Young Junior has hooked up with some older riff-raff who egg him into gun fighting, but they keep their hands clean.. Well Junior joins Jess bounty hunting and at Junior's request, Jess gives him pointers on how to draw his gun and the frame of mind he should be in. Well they catch about six wanted and Jess who we all know has a generous soul when there's a need shares the bounty with Junior..and Junior whose parents were killed coming from California to Texas has no family. Anyway Junior learns from Jess it's not all about speed but its aiming and hit what your shooting at. Well Junior learned to control his ANGER and made some money while he was in the company of Jess Williams..Oh he was also hired by Sheriff Polk of Hamburg as their new Deputy. So as Jess said on his way out said..stay a good man Junior.. And I say to all the Jess Williams fans..keep your coffee hot and watch your backs..
This is not one of the better stories that you have written. It was more like a touchy feely story. Not sorry I read it since I read all of the books in this series. As usual waiting on the next book.
Another fantastic book in the Jess Williams series. I enjoyed how Jess helped Junior to grow up. The story still carries the usual theme, but with a different twist to it. Keep writing them Mr. Thomas, the books are great.
