I let her slip away from me once - this time, I'll kill to keep her close... because this time, she's pregnant with my baby.
*
It was a lifetime ago when I first met Ana as she stepped out of the moving truck. From the second our eyes met, it was instant fire. What came after that was years of wild lust and a romance that seemed impossible to kill. Until I got patched into the Reap MC and all our lives changed.

Now, the MC is falling apart, my old man is in prison on a life sentence, and the only thing that makes sense is the secret fling I've been having with Ana for years. It's our secret, but I'm tired of that. But there's a big problem. She's running with a rival crew who wants to take out me and my club for good. So I make the call to everyone in the MC to put the leather cuts back on and gear up for war. The first strike comes in the form of murder... and that's when all hell breaks loose for good.

In the mirror, I tell myself to get ready for a different kind of war. A war with love. Because this time, with Ana, it's all or nothing.

" I felt his strong, outlaw fingers cup over my breast, squeezing, sending a warm pulse down through my core "

Bwahahahhaahha outlaw fingers??? I think we've got a little bit lost while trying to give the fantasy of the forbidden luuuv. Since my sarcastic fingers have nothing good to type about this book, I'll just laugh myself out.

I really wanted to like this book but this back and forth between then and now made me dizzy and i truly couldn't focus on the story.
If i read the then or only the now it made more sense still you were left with half a story of each.
I decides to read only the now after a couple of chapters and it made much more sense without struggling to understand.
The story was a nice one with many flaws unfortunately still it was a nice MC story to read.
It could have been better.

I love Jaxson Kidman's other MC series The Backdown Devil MC and figured I would like this one just as much. Sadly I was disappointed. The book wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. It was more confusing than anything. Kept going back and forth with the time line and for some books it works but not this one. I will try the second in the series but if it's the same I will give it up.
This book is for adults only

I need an Outlaw like Knox! A dirty bad boy biker who grew up on the “other side of the tracks” and that was fine by him. His dad worked his way up to become the Reapers MC President which helped Knox make his decision for what he wanted out of his life and that was to be a Reaper too. While still in his teens a moving truck pulled up next door and he knew at that time that the beautiful girl who stepped out of that truck was going to be his. Ana also had a hard life but knew that Knox was going to be a part of it in some way too. The connection they had was very deep but that didn’t say that it was all roses for those two because Ana wanted the nice house with the white picket fence and with Knox making the Reapers his life it seemed like they may never have that happily ever after.

This is a definite read for any biker fans out there which means that you will be able to handle all the down and dirty that Knox is all about. Be ready to see if Knox and Ana will ever be able to make a lasting relationship work with everything they both have to go through. Hard Knox was one hell of a hot read and is a huge accomplishment for an author on his first time out. I’m a fan and can’t wait to see what Jaxson has up his sleeve next. Keep that dirty coming!

I wanted to like this, I really did. Unfortunately, a few things made that impossible. First, the way the story jumped back and forth between time periods did not work. Instead of enhancing the story, it just made it confusing. The "then" story jumped around so much, I never knew which "then" I was reading. Two, the MC/enemy story wasn't deep or compelling enough. There was no real threat and once the one character was gone, everything was smoothed over so quickly, it just highlighted that there was never really any threat. Three, the writing itself was just too rough and repetitive. I don't mean rough as in too violent (there was actually very little violence for an MC), I mean words didn't flow. It wasn't descriptive or fleshed out. The author has potential but needs a stronger editor and more development. I cannot recommend it and honestly struggled to make myself finish it. In the end, I wish it did make it on my DNF list.

This was the first book I've read by Jaxson Kidman and for a debut novel it was great. This book was not what I expected... it was better. Hard Knox is gritty, dark, intense, addictive, raw, emotional, captivating, powerful... it is everything. This up and coming author pulls you into the story and doesn't let you go until the very end.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Hard Knox is pretty decent book, after my disappointment in reapers fall i really enjoyed in this one.Knox is your typical biker alpha and Ana is sweet and likeable heroine. So why not 5 stars?
Throwbacks with now and then really confused me.

GRITTY, INTENSE AND COMPLETELY CAPTIVATING !!!
Title: Hard Knox
Author: Jaxson Kidman
Designation: Full-length Standalone Bad Boy Outlaw MC Romance, NO Cliffhanger
Reading Platform: Kindle Unlimited
My Rating: Four Sinfully Delicious Stars*****
Wow! We have a new male author in town and his name is Jaxson Kidman! Kidman hit the ground running with the release of Hard Knox, his debut novel in the wonderful new world of self-published Contemporary Bad Boy Romance and folks, he totally nailed it! Color me impressed! If you think a man can't write great romance, you'd be dead wrong! Hard Knox is not only one of the hottest, but also one of the most emotional stories I've read this year. If this book is any indication of Jaxson Kidman's talent, then consider me a fan! I will be following his career closely and can guarantee this won't be my last time reading Jaxson Kidman! And apparently, I'm not alone! Fans who enjoy fast paced, full-length contemporary romance with a hard edge, liberally seasoned with heart-pounding danger, heart-breaking drama, gut-wrenching angst, fiery passion and steamy sex will most certainly love Hard Knox. I found the story to be raw, gritty, intense, thrilling, realistic, gripping and seductive. And these are only a few of the words that come to mind when trying to describe this book. I was immediately drawn into the story by the well crafted and quite unique first person past/present narrative and clearly defined his and her perspectives from the two protagonists. By the end of the first three chapters, I was glued to my seat, totally enthralled, white knuckling my ereader with the pages flying as did the time. I just couldn't stop reading. I was instantly smitten with sexy bad boy outlaw biker Knox and found myself relating to the beautiful, innocent and somewhat naive Ana. As the story unfolds, we learn so much about Knox and Ana, and what motivates them. My heart ached for this young couple whom fate has dealt a losing hand. They became kindred spirits with much more in common than just attraction and lust. But what drew me like a moth to a flame was the emotionally gripping interaction between our two unlikely lovers. Their heartfelt emotions, fierce passion and intense chemistry was nothing short of spellbinding as well as smokin' hot, yet still completely realistic. The dialogue was raw, emotional, seductive and flowed effortlessly. Kidman does a remarkable job of combining these elements into an extraordinary tale of modern day star crossed lovers. Quite obviously, Jaxson Kidman is an exceptionally gifted storyteller with a promising future in the romance genre and hopefully, many more stories to tell! And I look forward to reading them all!

Handsome bad boy Knoxvile, Knox to his friends, has always known what he wanted to do with his life, and going to school had never been his dream. His only degree comes from the school of hard knocks but Knox was a quick study. His aspirations leaned a little more to the type of life most people try to avoid. Even as a teenager, Knox knew he didn't want to spend his future scraping out a meager living as a blue collar worker barely surviving at a dead end job in a dying town. His mother worked two full-time jobs as a waitress trying to scratch out a living to pay their bills and look where it got her - nowhere! He wanted better for himself and his town. He dreamed of following in his father's footsteps and being patched into the Reaper's Bastards MC. But the one thing he never anticipated was the beautiful teenage Ana who moved in next door. Even as a teenager, Knox knew he had the looks and body to seduce any woman he fancied but since setting eyes on the lovely angel next door, there's only one woman he now desired. He realized the minute she stepped out of the moving truck, there was something special about the sweet innocent Ana, something that would change him forever. He wanted her and he would have her, eventually. He's willing to wait until she's ready - no matter how long it takes. And wait he would. But fate can be a cruel mistress indeed. He soon realized because of the life he'd chosen, Ana's safety was at risk. Being with him could cost her everything, including her life. So for her sake, he would stay away - to keep her safe. Unfortunately, staying away was easier said than done especially when his heart yearned for the comfort of her gaze and the warmth of her arms. Ana would always be his first darlin'. The day would come when denying his love is no longer enough to keep her out of harm's way. And when that day arrives, Knox knows he's willing to do anything and kill anyone to finally claim her. He's had her body but now he wants it all - her heart, the dream, the whole thing including the house with the white picket fence, and he wants it only with Ana. But will Knox and Ana live long enough to find their happy ending? Not if his enemies can stop them! Oh my! Buckle up, my lovelies! It's a wild ride!

When reviewing and rating a book, there are several questions I always ask myself. First, how did I feel about the book? I'm not a professional reviewer but I know what I like, what I love and what I don't, and I loved this story. Some people may believe if you're read one MC romance, you've read them all. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I found this story to be quite unique as well as unconventional, yet still very realistic. It's quite obvious to me that Kidman poured his heart and soul into this book. I found myself completely captivated by the storyline as well as the characters. Were there a few problems? Of course. I'm 64 years young and an avid reader. I've read literally thousands and thousands of books in my lifetime, too many to count, and I've yet to find a single one that's perfect. So yes, there were a few boo-boos but none serious and certainly nothing that distracted me from the story. Hopefully, as Kidman matures as a writer and gains experience, there will be more money in the budget for editing. But even with a few typos and grammatical errors, Kidman's true talent shines brightly in Hard Knox which leads me to my second question. Was there anything about the story I didn't like? Well, that's a loaded question and just a matter of opinion. I loved the story but I, personally, have a little pet peeve I can't seem to overlook, no matter how hard I try, especially in any type of contemporary romance. I want my characters to have first and last names. In order for me to know them, invest in them, relate to them, empathize with them and remember them, I need a full name. I guess it's a carry over as an English major - names are important. Sadly, I was never able to find a surname for either of the primary characters in this story. So yes, I would love to have known their complete names. Third, would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but most definitely only for adults since there are some steamy, dreamy love scenes included. Yowza! Did I mention this book is totally HAWT?!? Well, just in case I neglected to mention it, it's so hot it sizzles! Fourth, will I read this author again? Abso-freakin-lutely! Just as soon as he releases his next book! I look forward to following Kidman's career and eagerly await his next story. I predict great things for Jaxson Kidman. I suspect he has a bestseller on the horizon. And finally, my final and most important question. Was I entertained? Oh Lawd, yes! If you're looking for a delightfully entertaining, although somewhat unconventional, fast-paced modern day tale of star-crossed lovers who, despite their enemies, trials, and tribulations, are finally able to find their happy ending, then this is most assuredly the boo for you. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read! And Jaxson Kidman, you can call me darlin' anytime! Great debut novel!

My reading order is all messed up! Thought I’d better go back to the beginning with Jaxson’s debut novel. What a way to make your debut, not sure why it took me so long to read his earlier books. Once again the characters have such a good story to tell, they’ve had a lot of life experience. Not always good...the title Hard Knox fit the story perfectly.

A new neighbour, she is very easy on the eyes her name is Ana. She is feeling rather vulnerable due to her life being uprooted. Her mum warns her and Knox to stay away from Each other.

Knox hears the warning from Ana’s mum loud and clear. He knows his outlaw life isn’t an easy one. His club the Reapers B@stards MC comes first, he lives a wild and fast life of crime, protection and women. Ana is never far from his mind.

Ana has hooked up with Porter who is part of the family! They are throwing some weight around town trying to scare off the Reapers. With Knox’s dad the president in prison things start changing. Then Porter does something stupid and paints a target on his back. Knox goes into action and wants revenge, but it’s a precarious situation and he has to play his cards right.

HARD KNOX …
By Jaxson Kidman

FIRST AND FOREMOST let me tell you JAXSON KIDMAN took me on an absolutely stunning adventure!
I positively loved every word!
Now, THIS is the kind of STORY I LOVE TO READ.
GRITTY AND STEAMY from the very first sentence all the way to the very last sentence with NO LET UP in between.
Thank the gods for "no-holds-barred" male authors. Whether it's action or lovin' they're writing about, they're going to pull you into a fast-paced and emotional DREAM-RIDE.

I've said it before - MALE AUTHORS know how to write honest-to-goodness Real, Emotionally Heart- Wrenching, Romantic scenes. Plus, factor in that they also Know life's Real, Raw, Gritty and Most Trying Hardships, and that helps to make them the Most Hellacious, Bad Boy Romance Writers.

I positively loved the grit, violence and no-holds-barred absolute realism that Jaxson Kidman writes with. Not only does he master the real feelings of life's seemingly relentless beating down of you, no matter what you do or how hard you try but, he also gets how desperately we can sometimes grasp - no matter how fleeting or how wrong it might be - for just one moment of happiness in the listless and lonely lives we sometimes are left with, no matter how hard we try to be, or do better, every now and then you Just Need Someone To Love.

Knox and Ana love each other. Have since the very moment their eyes met each other's when she jumped down out of the moving van that pulled up next to his apartment. That very first day, after he's finished helping them move in, her mother warns him off her Though only a teenager, she tells him: “Stay away from Ana. This is not where I want to live. This is not what I want for her. The last thing I need is some thug like you to get into her head.”

Knox takes that to heart. He truly believes he wouldn't be good for Ana. He's a "Bad Boy" as a teenager, already, and destined to be an Enforcer in his father's MC - Reaper's Bastards. Plus, he knows she wants things he will never give her - "A white house. Two stories. A point at the top with one attic window. A wrap around porch. A red door. Red shutters. A white fence. And a black mailbox at the end of the driveway. Two car garage with a basketball hoop attached to it."

So, Knox does just that - he stays away from Ana. Knox believes when she's old enough, she'll leave town and move on to a better life, AWAY FROM HIM. However, she Never Does Leave town. She won't. She can't stand the thought of leaving Knox behind. She will Never Leave Knox Behind.

But, over the years, when they needed more from life or just couldn't help themselves any longer (actually they really just needed each other) they did get together but only long enough for short encounter. Literally, just minutes. For as soon as they literally even touched each other something bad would come up, or would happen to interrupt them, and they wouldn't get back together, afterwards - "Just fleeting moments where we could sort of stop time and enjoy each other." For every good moment they had something bad immediately followed. Seemingly, reinforcing the idea, that they shouldn't be together.
So instead, because she couldn't have Knox, she hooked up with a different "Bad Boy", one of Knox's MC rivals. Only this one really IS bad, bad, bad. PLUS, he doesn't have a Heart-of-Gold, like Knox does.

Knox thought Ana was happy until he learns her "bad boy" has hit her and he decides he's had enough of keeping away from her, just to protect her, from the bad things in his life. "The rage boiled over. I couldn’t imagine some man putting his hands on Ana. She was my girl. She was my love. I was the one who was supposed to take care of her and protect her. Keeping her at a distance was supposed to help her, not cause all this."

Over the years he's always seemed to "magically" appear to help her, to "save" her, when she's needed him the most. “I’m never going to stop looking for you. Checking on you. Protecting you when you need me most.” And this time is no different.
He goes straight to Ana as soon as he finds out how her relationship with her boyfriend really is.
They finally, really get together this time. He tells her it's for good, for always, that he'll never leave her again. “I love you, Ana. I’ve always loved you. I kept my distance to protect you and look what it did to you. I’ll never let that happen again.”
From that point on it's a matter of getting her ex to back off. Not too hard for Knox to do because Knox as he puts it "I was built to protect". And he tells Ana “You’re going to be protected, Ana. The Reap isn’t going to let you down. We’re taking care of things…"
And, they do, "take care of things". In the end, so does Knox.

It might seem I've given you a lot of information here, but believe me, I haven't even scratched the surface. This book is absolutely amazing! And if you've read the synopsis of the book some of it comes from the author Jaxson Kidman's own experiences. Hmmm…wonder which parts those could be…hmmm? Lord only knows but, the entire novel has the real feeling of life and love at it's rawest, grittiest and most emotional.

I've read very few like this. He gets it. He really gets it. And, most of all - HE KNOWS WHAT WE WANT and HE DELIVERS IT TO US ON A GOLD RIMMED SILVER PLATTER . And, oh my god, just think . . . This is ONLY his DEBUT NOVEL . . . What, pray tell, does he have to offer us in his future writing career? ? ?

BUY THIS BOOK ! ! ! YOU'LL BE BLOWN AWAY! YOU'LL LOVE IT, WITH EVERY BREATH!

I was definitely, so very honored, to have been one of the "chosen" ones who were "gifted" a copy of "HARD KNOX", by JAXSON KIDMAN , in exchange for my honest opinion about this TRULY AMAZING ROMANCE NOVEL.

Holy hotness

Knox is a perfect flawed hero/outlaw. Jaxson created an amazing story of life, it is messy, complicated and sometimes it sucks. But if you hang in and keep pushing sometimes you get perfect moments. The story was great and I am addicted to Jaxson right now and his writing. The only complaint I have is I hate the jumping back and forth, I prefer this is what happened, this is where we are.

I have a habit of reading the wrong books so maybe this one is included. I love the storyline and it had potential but the author didn't follow through with the storyline due to previous, now, and other times , which produces losing the true plot. I didn't hate the book I just had some of the same problems as I did in the previous book.

Short, sexy and a lot of heart. Knox and Ana stole my heart when they first met. They both had hard lives and depended on each other throughout the years for comfort and love. Even when they were apart, they never gave up on each other. Knox was rough around the edges which made me love his character. His protectiveness and the way he loved Ana made this story for me.

How did this book get 5 stars

This book makes absolutely no sense. It is all over the place. Even if it this is the very first MC book that you've ever read it would make no sence. It had a great story line and huge potential. All the characters were great. Unfortunately the author didn't bring it together in a way that was understandable.

Hot biker outlaw read

Loved the heat between Knox and Ana right from the start!! Even though their timing wasn't always right, these star crossed lovers were always meant to be together. Follow their story to see how these two overcome so many obstacles to beat the odds and come together again.

This was a good MC Book. My first read by Jaxson Kidman

I always have a weak spot for MC books. This book has different point of views between Knoxville and Ana. Past and Present. Outlaw ways, Loyalty and Family .
It's an easy read and keeps you wondering what will happen next

I liked it but didn’t love it, if I’m totally honest it didn’t feel like one of Jaxson books? I know weird eh! But anyway, I honestly can’t put my finger on why but I just didn’t connect like I normally do, glad I read it though and it did have a really sweet ending 😁

Life is a gamble!

I love the work of Jaxson and after reading Nobody Else/Somebody else I wanted to read more. Jaxson didn't disappoint. I love the relationship Knox has with Ana and that it's not all nice and tidy. It's gritty and hard just like real life can be. A good read

A story of two people meant to be together! Their story of love lost, love found, and love growing!

Bad boy going for the good girl who lost her way.

Make sure to pay attention to the chapter names as there is a lot of back and forth with foreshadowing.
