Alexa: I hate him, but I want him… I hate the emotional blackmail that my mom gives me for not being with Sebastian, the guy my mom wanted me to marry. I never wanted him. But if I don’t, my mom will end her relationship with me.
I am only interested in the quarterback who I cheered for on the sidelines, even though I hate his guts. Regardless, I can’t deny what my body and heart desired. But we are about to graduate and go our separate ways. What am I going to do?
Martin: I’ve always loved her, but I’m poorer than she knows... Playing my last year in college as the star quarterback people thought I was, it was bittersweet. I hope I get drafted into the NFL to be able to help pay my family back for all they’ve done, and get them out of that trailer. But that would mean being far from Alexa.
She was the cheerleader I always wanted by my side. But man, she could be so stuck up sometimes! That was until our friends locked us up in the dorm and wouldn’t let us leave til we sorted things out. I have no idea what will happen next…

"Touchdown" A Bad Boy Sports romance-garners 4 stars from me. Our two main characters Alexa and Martin are in their senior year at Princeton, but their backrounds could not be any more different. Alexa, is the only hold of a wealthy up crust family and lacks for nothing, well she does lack for her parents attention and support for her choices. Alexa's father who made his money in the tech Industry and was not born into it,is much more supportive of her choices than her mother. Alexa,s mother came from a socialite family and expects Alexa to conform to what she believes is correct. Marry wealthy, come to tolerate or care for each other , have a child or two and spend your days gossiping and planning fund raising events for the needy. The very same needy that you donor want to associate with. Alexa may have plenty of money and anything she wants but her desire to go to college has gone unsupported, her desire to play sports shot down, luckily her mother allowed her gymnastics and cheer; and that only because in her mother's eyes you have to be beautiful to be a cheerleader . So when her parents come to visit her and ring the son of a long standing family friends, Sebastion a young man she has already told her mother she was my intrested in, but apparently has not gotten through her mom's thick , controlling head she finds herself being proposed to in the middle of a restaurant. But when Alexa does not fall in line with her mother's plans by running from Sebastion and the restaurant after saying no; Alexa finds herself cut off.
Martin, is the star quarterback for the Princeton Football team and has had a rush on Alexasince he met her as a freshman, but knows he will never fit in with her lifestyle, never be good enough. He only has his mother, his father lives in a rehab facility, a former football player himself who did not handle fame and fortune well he became an alcoholic and lost everything. Leaving his mother to raise him alone and work hard. They do not have half of what Alex and her family does . Martin is hoping to be drafted first round with a could contract into the NFl ; but fears even that would not meet with Alexa or her parents standards. The whole time Alexa has like Martin but fears getting involved with him because of how her parents may treat him. However , now that shehas finally stood up for herself and has no true expectations of reconciling with them, only hope the thought of Martin and giving a relationship with him a try , but still questions it.
Finally, after a party one night Alexa and Martins freind Sasha and Reg locked them in his dorm room until they worked it out , best thing their friends could of ever done for them. These two finally Talk through everything and start on a path of a sweet romance . Can these two survive through there differences ? Will they find themselves going their separate ways after graduation ? At Graciuosly supplied by author for an honest review.
Safety Level: Safe with exceptions. Both hero and heroine have been with other people after they've met. Cliffhanger: No Ending: HEA
This is my first book from this author. I think. Actually, I've read so many books that I sometimes forget if I've already read an author or not. But, if my memory serves me right this time, I haven't had any book from Ms. Sinclaire before. I chose to read this book because it had a sexy cover, and the premise sounded a bit interesting, so I jumped in.
All in all, it was pretty entertaining. The heroine was a rich girl, whose wealthy parents wanted her to marry into wealth as well. Then, there's the hero who comes from a poor family. They spend a good part of their college years antagonizing each other. The hero because he thought the heroine was out of his league. And the heroine because she was fighting her attraction for him. However, love is magic. The more you try to hide it, the more it shows. The more you try to suppress it, the deeper it grows. That's why the two of them happening has been a long time coming.
There were instances in the book that I found weird. For example, the hero and the heroine decide to be friends with benefits because them having a future seemed to ask for too big a price. However, on the very next scene, they were already solidly a couple, ready to face any adversary. I just couldn't see the development and progression of their feelings. It just seemed to happen in a snap.
Still, I'm sure that a lot of readers would enjoy this book. If you are looking for a light NA romance with a solid conflict but without the angst or emotional upheaval, then this book is the right choice.
Such a cute love story!! A very well written book with great character development!! This story begins at Princeton with a college cheerleader, Alexa, and a college quarterback, Martin. Well they have both had eyes for each other but come from way different worlds. Alexa comes from money and when I say she comes from money I mean her freakin mom is trying to arrange a marriage so she marries a rich man whether she likes it or not. Martin he got a glimpse of that life when his father was a Super bowl champ but his father lost it all and Martin and his parents struggle. These two can't see eye to eye and have been fighting it for years. Until a drunken confession and some concerned friends take matters into their own hands. But will Alexa's parents ever be ok with her dating a man below her social status?!?! And if not can she make it in the real world with no money?!?! I love Martin from the very beginning. He is everything you think of wanting in a man. Alexa not so much but I am not from a rich family so maybe I just don't understand that lifestyle but what I do love is how she finally evolves. This is such a happy love story but I kind of wish there would have been some type of struggle. BUT this book will have you smiling the entire time. And at one point they say that her dad and his mom should get together and I agree 100%! I was sad when the end came and it was all summed up in a chapter I wasn't ready for it to be over... **I received this book as an ARC from the author herself and in return I gave my honest review**
Ugh. Two bad books in a row. DNF'd this one at about 46%. I can't be bothered to care about the rather flat story. Or the annoying heroine. Or the sad excuse for a bad boy.
Touchdown: A Bad Boy Sports Romance by Roxy Sinclaire is my first Roxy read and won't be the last. This book was given as a gift from the author in exchange for an honest review. This book features Alexa Hall, a rich girl that's used to getting what she wants and Martin, the quaterback with dreams of making it big. He wants her but is afraid she will reject him because he doesn't have much. She wants him but thinks he's nothing but trouble. This was a very quick, clean read. It is definitely a college romance with a happy ending. I enjoyed it. It is always refreshing to read a nice story without the smut. I recommend this book as a quick beach read.
I liked this story; it was a sweet YA romance. College is not easy, but when you have the right friends, it makes it that much more tolerable. You’ve got the rich kids and those kids on scholarship (aka poor). I thought it was cute how the main characters were shy but yet loved playing jokes on each other. Just another variation of, “he pulled my hair”! I thought this book was a quick clean read. I would defiantly recommend this book for a quick read on a sunny warm beach day. It is hopeful college romance with a happy ending. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
3 Stars: Kindle Unlimited Read It has many redeeming qualities. The characters were likable at best neutral at worst. The writing was much better than expected. I developed an interest that withstood to the end. The plot was nice, somewhat original or had its own unique flair. The writing was good, and the pretense wasn’t half bad, the romance was simmering with few exceptions. The male/female lead showed hints of abuse both verbal and/or physical or signs of spot-on or forced chemistry. It was a tiny bit predictable. Overall, liked it enough, entertaining.
Such a sweet story about the college life, goals and rich versus poor. Alexa comes from a wealthy family that still believes in arranged marriages, even though she doesn't. Martin comes from a primarily poor family. Martin's dad was a pro footballer in his younger days but squandered away all his money while becoming an alcoholic. Martin's mother is a nurse who worked long hours to provide for Martin.
Martin never thought he had a chance with Alexa but wanted her the whole 4 years of college. The same was true for Alexa. When the two get together there's an instant connection with a lot of twists and turns. Find out if the quarterback can win over and keep the head cheerleader.
Alexa hates Martin, but deep down she wants him. When alexas parents force her to date Xavier she declines. When her mother gets mad alexa runs out of the restaurant into Martin crying on his shoulder. When he invites her to a party the next night she agrees. While at the party she gets really drunk. She tries to lure Martin into his room to make out, only to pass out. The next morning she finds her self with only her undergarments on. Thinking Martin has used her they fight. When she tries to leave his room she can't get out their best friends lock them in Martin's room to hash things out. Need to read. Great story. Loved it
I really enjoyed Alexa & Martin! They start off rocky, but once they actually sit down & TALK, they realize that they really, really like each other. More than. ; ) The "bad boy" moniker in the title isn't really accurate - Martin is an alpha-y captain of the football team, but he's a sweetheart & not what I would classify as a bad boy. This is a quick read, and the ending chapter/epilogue felt more like a wrap up than part of the actual story (IDK if that will even make sense) but I liked the direction it went & the story it told! Two thumbs up!! :)
Alexa graduated high school, grew up with wealthy parents, a mom who planned everything she did. She applied to Princeton just to get away from her demanding mother. Martin going to Princeton on a scholarship, totally a different class financially, a football player, that is banking on getting picked in the draft. He meets Alexa, two total opposites, yet drawn to each other, yet all hinges on the draft, her parents. Great story, challenges, loved it.
It was pretty bad. Their is no "bad boy" even thought it's called a bad boy romance. Alexa's character was a pathetic spoiled brat. Martin was easy to like. Unfortunately it seemed like they were in high school rather than college. The writing was bad. All in all it was just bad.
Martin & Alexa...the hot rich cheerleader and the hot star quarterback. They aren't the typical stereotypes that are going through your head right now. This was a really sweet story about finally knowing and going after what you want in life. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. I loved it! I definitely want to read more by Roxy Sinclaire!
Alexa and Martin had great chemistry and sweet and cute story about quarterback and head cheerleader in college. Alexa learn that just because your life is planned out you by your family it's okay that you want to choose a different path. Alexa and Martin life came together so fast after graduation but it all worked out in the end even though it didn't go as plan.
She does study, but she is a poor rich girl, having to do as her mother wants it a certain way. Sometimes I wanted to yell at her to grow up. Come on.
Luckily she decides to fight for the man of her dreams and go against her mother. Pity her struggle without her creditcards isn't in the book. Why not go for a job next to school?
But luckily he gets his dream job with a huge contract.
So I enjoyed the overall story of Alexa and Martin, but this felt more like it was written in high school, and not by someome billed as a writer of steamy romances....I didn't feel any steam! Heck, there wasn't even much in the way of heat.
Nice story ....takes the quarterback 4 years longer to get the head cheerleader but that makes this story that much sweeter! Quick read that has you "cheering" for the quarterback because he packs it all....talent, good sense, heart and perseverance!
This is a good book . It is about young adults in college. Rich girl cheerleader hooks up with poor star quarterback. Although I wouldn't have described him as poor. Lower middle class maybe. It's a pleasant book.
Martin and Alexa have danced around their love/hate attraction for 4 years while studying at Princeton. She’s the rich girl, head cheerleader, he’s the poor guy, star quarterback. She’s had all the chances; this is his one chance at pro ball.
This was my first book I've read by Roxy. For me I couldn't get into it as much. The storyline seemed a bit teenage. It would probably be a awesome book for someone that enjoys this kind of storyline. Thanks
2.5 Stars It was enjoyable but in some places a bit disjointed. Like a situation needed to be more in depth, or chapters missing. They got their happy ever after, it just seemed rushed
This was a really great sports romance book. Hot football player and gorgeous cheerleader, poor bad boy, spoil rich girl. But it has a really great story line.
I was extremely bored I made it through the first 8 chapters and felt like I was about to lose my mind. It was so dry and so tedious to read never again. Would not recommend
