This romance has a wonderful picturesque setting that adds lots of ambiance, passion and thrills to this exciting story. Gabi and Kai are strong, passionate characters that easily grab readers’ attention and holds on tight. The chemistry between is electrical and their relationship is a tsunami of passion and gripping emotions that flow from the pages.
The plot is fast paced with lots of thrills, excitement and unexpected twists that keeps readers glued to the pages. The story has some unique dragon elements that add spice and flair to the story while the gripping emotional pull of the choices the characters make ensures that reader are completely engaged throughout this thrilling and entertaining story.

This is the second book in the Dragon Mates series and part of the Reckless Desires set which is a multi-author set. This book is around 190 pages long and is for adults only due to the steamy content. While this is can be a standalone book, you don’t want to miss out on references to Lacey (her best friend) who also happens to be the star of book 1.
This book is even better than the first book. I loved how this book grabbed my attention at the first page and didn’t let go. Gabi is definitely a spitfire. She has a sassiness that I loved from the start. Kai is sort of broody at start. He is of course a hot head because what shifter male isn’t.
J.K.’s books seem to get better each year, and I’ve liked them from the start. She is definitely author that I always know I will enjoy the adventure she takes us on in her books.
I highly recommend her Dragon Mates series to all shifter lovers especially if you have a thing for sexy dragonmen. I can’t wait to see who the next book is about!!

Man did I love this one, Kai is super hot and Gabriella is one tough sassy cookie who knows when she wants something and goes for it.....Yeaaaaa Latina power! This is book 2 of this fantastic series and I think after Burned this is my favorite, although all 3 are my favorites!
Gabriela Santos grew up listening to her abuelita's stories of shifters and the ocean which only served to pique her curiosity and pushed her to become an ocean archeologist. She feels best when she is underwater, but when she come face to face with a dragon at the shipwreck, she realizes that all her abuelita told her all those years ago was true and she is very happy she believed her, even with her scientific brain. But will she put her career and reputation on the line to save her precious abuela? And what about the very sexy and hot man she met last night will she get a chance to jump his bones because she is really looking forward to it?

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This delightful story is about a Dragon Shifter named Kai Long and a female Diver named Gabriela Santos. Gabriela Santos or "Gabi" and her research team discover a shipwreck the ship is called The Santa Maria. Her and her research team are there to catalog the find. Gabi and her dive partner Shane go below the water to take pictures of the ship which is then relayed to the top on a computer to her research team. This find is kept secret so nobody knows it is there. At least that is what Gabi and her team had thought. Gabi has a sick Grandmother who she affectionately calls "abuela". Gabi has a purpose she wants to save her Grandmother's life by being able to afford to get her the treatment that her Grandmother's insurance can't provide for her. Gabi decides to do something she's not proud of and is deceitful but she loves her Grandmother and she is okay with what she has to do. Then one day while on a dive she was taking pictures of the whole on the side of the ship where the gold was and something real shiny just below on a ledge was glowing and it caught her attention so she swam to it and stuck her hand below the seaweed and held it in her hand to look and it was a small gold nugget. She decides she wants to borrow it as proof and will return it to it's place as soon as she is finished with it. Then just as soon as she get's ready to go meet Shane on the other side of the ship she gets an eery feeling in the water she sees something huge and holds still thinking it could be a shark but then discovers that it isn't a shark but another type of creature a dragon with big green eyes and a beautiful blue green body she notices that it is staring at her and for a moment they are just looking at each other and then in a flash the dragon swims off fast leaving sill and other particles under the water in its wake. She dropped her camera. She calls to Shane to ask him if he seen what she saw, she didn't say it was a dragon, she didn't want to sound crazy but, Shane said he didn't see anything and asks him to help her find her camera. Meanwhile Kai the dragon shifter had a mate that died several years before and he is not able to touch his gold horde because his deceased mate placed a spell over it to keep it hidden it's called a death spell, so each day Kai would go down to visit his Gold in the hopes that he can touch it because you see the gold is a dragon's source of life and power without it the Dragon can not live. So Kai is swimming along and goes to the ship only to discover humans in the water particularly a female human who was touching his gold as he is watching her she turns around suddenly and he just looks at her holding still, he then realizes that she can see him and she is not suppose to be able to see him because he and all other dragons cloak themselves from the eyes of humans but apparently she can see him. The only humans that can see Dragons are humans called Fealties who serve and help Dragons. But he didn't want to wait around and let her continue to stare at him so he swims off and now has to go and figure out who this woman is that has his gold and to find out how she knew about his treasure. So that night Kai goes to the local bar that he is a silent partner in and has a drink and is waiting to see if the research team will show up so he can find out who the woman was so that he can seduce her into telling him how she found out about the gold and what their intentions were for the gold. When the group walks in he assesses each woman and decides that Gabi is the one he saw under the water, so he tells the bar tender to give the lady whatever she is drinking, he then walks to the table they are at and Kai speaks to Gabi asking her what they are celebrating and if he could buy her a drink and if she wouldn't mind sitting with him so that he can get to know her better, she and the other women stare at the handsome man with gaping mouths open, So Gabi agrees under one condition, that Kai buy drinks for the table he then asks the bartender to come over with a bottle of Cristal and Gabi is impressed and goes with him. The go to the VIP area and Kai and her are thinking to themselves how pretty and handsome they are. Kai wants to seduce her for information and while they are talking Gabi gets a phone call the number on the screen makes her look concerned and she excuses herself from Kai to take the call, she is on the phone with the contact person from a company called UTEI asking if she was able to provide a sample and the coordinates of the gold. Gabi tells the man that she will get it tomorrow. She then walks back to the table where Kai is and tells him that she has to leave and she gives him her phone number so that they can meet up again at some other time but as she is about to leave she gives him a quick kiss and she feels a little spark happening by the touch and ends the kiss abruptly. Kai decides to continue with getting the information the next morning by requesting she report to the Chairman's Board room of the Marine Center to discuss the paperwork her research team filled out so the next morning her boss tells her she can't go out with them that she has to meet with the Chairman. Gabi is disappointed because she wanted to return the gold nugget. So she leaves for the Marine center and when she arrives at the board room she is surprised to see Kai standing there and becomes upset with him because what gave him the right to pull her out of her work she then finds out he is the chairman so a little sexual thoughts and banter go across the room toward one another until Gabi finally stands next to him and they are both thinking sexy thoughts about each other so to break the sexual tension Kai calls her over to his desk to go over the paperwork. The next day while she is getting ready to go into the water a sailboat is seen in the distance and the research crew recognizes it as the guy from the bar the other night and Gabi is once again appalled by this because she can't go back into the water now. He challenges her by saying that she can't handle his sailboat but since Gabi has had a sleepless night dreaming about Kai she decides to see where this day will go so she gets on his boat and drives the boat where Kai tells her to. They end up in a secluded part of the ocean where there is a reef and no one around for miles. Kai decides that today right now he is going to seduce her then ask her questions. Well they end up taking care of the sexual tension and the spark between them right there on deck after they are finished Kai's dragon keeps putting into his mind that Gabi is his mate and Kai gets carried away and claims her as his mate then at the realization of what he has done he gets up and becomes distant towards Gabi and starts asking her questions. Then Kai reveals himself as a dragon and Gabi is shocked and in awe because she finally got to see a real dragon because her grandmother had always told stories about seeing water dragons when she was younger and Gabi had always believed in her stories now she had proof with her own eyes. But while they are there on the boat they are attacked by another dragon and Kai has to shift again into Dragon form to fight the other dragon. Kai's dragon wants to protect his tiny human mate from the other dragon and notices that Gabi is trying to help or cheer him on. They fight each other but Kai is a water dragon the other one is not and is not able to stay under water for a long time, he then flies away. When the fight is over Kai shifts back into human form and as he is asking if she is alright Gabi's phone rings and she finds that it is still strapped to the rail of the boat she answers it and it is her brother telling her that her abuela is in the hospital, she passed out in the kitchen and bumped her head while making lunch for Gabi's nephew, Kai rushes down below the boat to get a shirt and some shorts for Gabi because she can't find her swimsuit bottoms. She is at the hospital with her grandmother and when her grandmother awakens Gabi tells her what happened to her and about Kai being a dragon and then her Grandmother tells her of her dragon man that she fell in love with how they met before she married her grandfather and the importance of the gold to dragons and tells Gabi that she must return the dragons gold back to him now. So the next morning she has to do what her grandmother told her and she calls Shane to go with her to the ship so she can return the gold piece so when they get there Gabi senses something is wrong and sure enough something is wrong the treasure is gone. I would tell you what happens next with Gabi but I'll leave that for you to read. I'll also leave you to find out what happens when Kai discovers his gold is missing and he thinks gabby has stolen it from him. This story does have a happy ending but you'll have to read the story to appreciate the ending which was quite nice. I really enjoyed the book so much, it is not a really long read and I didn't find any slow parts to the story and the sexual tension between the two characters was sometimes funny and sweet. I would definitely recommend this book if you love dragon shifters and their quests to find mates. This is a romantic story as well.

Thrilled: Reckless Desires book 2 by J.K. Harper is a steamy paranormal romance you do not want to miss out on. Be ready to lose some sleep, as you will not be able to put this down! With romance that will leave butterflies in your tummy, sizzling sex scenes, suspenseful twists and turns to keep you wondering and action that has you holding your breath, you will not be disappointed. This installment was very well written with a storyline that packs a punch, the author’s imagination limitless. I give this novel a 5/5 star rating.
Gabriella Santos has done her family proud by becoming a respected scientist working for a maritime archaeology department. I immensely enjoyed her feisty, fearless, thrill-seeking personality. I love it when the author writes about strong, independent women and that is exactly what Gabi is. Her love of the ocean and for the creatures that live within is admirable. Her respect for the historical artifacts found in the depths of the ocean and her loyalty to her crew are of utmost importance to her. Unfortunately, when Gabi has to choose between her morals and family, family wins out. Desperately seeking help she makes a deal with what she believes to be a firm that raids sunken ships for treasure. Unbeknownst to her, she’s the only person who can break the spell on the Santa Maria that hides it from thieves and it could cost her everything.

This is a fantastic book I actually preferred this book to book one and that is saying something as I gave book one "Dazzled" a five star review too. I loved Gabi and her fierce personality. I love Gabi. She is sassy and confident and the chemistry between her and Kai is off the charts.
This book is a 10/10 read loved it.

We first meet Gabi, intrepid undersea explorer, who has found a wreck that promises to be a treasure find. Kai is a water dragon shifter who has been cursed by his dying mate: he's not been able to touch their combined hoard until he finds true love again. Is this what Gabi has found? How can she see it and him, when she shouldn't be able to do either?

Gabi is full of life, exuberant, and dedicated to her job and her grandmother. At times, the book feels light and airy, while at other times we can understand and feel the pressures that both Gabi and Kai live under. There are humor and good banter, which I always love in any sort of romance.
This book is a part of a series, but it could be appreciated as a standalone. If you enjoy shifter romance with a strong heroine, a little steam, humor, and heart, you might find this a satisfying read.

She has baggage from a bad marriage, so she avoids relationships. While on a dive, she sees an odd object swim away from a ship wreck. Kai Long is a water dragon who suffered a devestating loss when his mate, Leilani died and put a spell on him. He can't retrieve his treasure and is functioning at half power. The family put a spell on the wreck to make it undetectable. Gabi found it and pocketed a golden nugget. What happened? Is the tide changing? How was Gabi able to touch what was untouchable? Is the family treasure in danger? Absolutely, fun, fascinating, breath holding, sexy adventure. Miscommunications add to the excitement. Can Gabi and Kai ever get on the same page? Nicely done! This is book two in this series and it delivered just as well as the first. I do recommend that you read book one first to understand the characters.
I loved the storyline; it takes you on a magical adventure into the ocean and opens your mind to the possibility of dragons and treasure. Gabi is such a strong woman and has such a deep love for her grandmother that she would risk her career to heal her illness. She also risks love. Can she save both? Kai is our dragon shifter. He's hot and sexy, and he's cursed. Kai has been burned by love before so he's wary of Gabi. He tries to fight the attraction he feels but, can you really fight true love?

I was so excited when I figured out that Gabi, Lacey’s wild child and danger seeker best friend, would have her very own Dragon, even if it had nothing to do with Sebastian and Lacey from Dazzeled. Gaby is sassy and a no-frills kind of girl. She likes to live on the edge and loves the ocean. Kai is a water dragon, who had a mate and lost her. He has a treasure, which he doesn’t guard all too much, because no one can find it or touch it - or so he thought. Gabi loved her job as a diver for an exploration team with the university. She’s on the verge of HUGE discovery, that will change her life forever and that of Kai’s as well. I wish, we could have seen a bit more of Gabi’s Abuela, because she was so important to Gabi and a lot of the plot. Overall the book was a good read, and I loved the banter between Kai and Gabi.

Without the hoard, though, he is losing his powers little by little. One day he sees a group of humans diving around his hidden hoard and a woman touching it without being repelled, like anyone else he knew. Little does he know that one of the women is bringing hope and tragedy to his life.
An interesting story with a beautiful ending - an "All's well that ends well!" kind of story.

Second in the series of dragon shifter romance. Gabi was born to be in the ocean. She loves finding archeological finds in the ocean. And her biggest find may be way more than she realizes. Kai is still feeling the loss of his mate that died five years ago. But either curse or fate he is unable to get to his dragon hoard. And for him that will be a death sentence the longer he is away from it. The two characters are definitely interesting. Gabi is very adventurous and lives for finding the secrets in the ocean. Kai is definitely a demanding presence. Plenty of adventure and romance in this one.

I am so glad I was able to read this book! Her writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole of the story. I found myself in love with not only the characters, but also the world she creates.
You truly feel as though you are living among the characters. An intense, emotional and SEXY storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and on edge throughout the whole book.

Wow what a read, Kai is a water dragon shifter who loves the ocean, Gabi is an underwater archaeologist who loves her job, she also loves her grandmother and unfortunately has made a deal with the devil to try to get her grandmother help. When Kai and Gabi’s worlds cross things are set in motion which will test them both, but will it be for the better???
Loved this read, great story, plot, characters, and history. My only negative is the drawn out sexy moments which made the story drag for me, but the angst and excitement make up for it. Nice read.

Again, he's an arrogant player who uses and discards women, and the love scenes were just straight up sex scenes with no romance as a result. Then suddenly they're in insta-love, except again it's a betrayal conflict. only this time she kind of has betrayed him and her principals. Except all is forgiven, and they're happy together suddenly. We are never given any reason why these people would fall for each other, and neither of them is very likable, so we don't care.

As soon as I had finished the first book in the series, I dived straight in to this one. Although it’s the second in the series it could be read as a standalone, but I think it’s far better to start with book 1. This is another thrilling read with amazing characters and fantastic chemistry. Loved this book and loving the series! So the second one of the series was harder for me to read at first. It isn’t like it was bad or the editing was bad, I believe it was just because it was slower than the first one. But, as it proceeded it was very good. It is such an interesting story and the dynamics’s of it is fantastic. I loved the uniqueness of the dragons and their abilities. It is a very good read that can be read just fine without reading the first one.

This is the second book in the series and can be read as a stand-alone. Kai is a water dragon and when he goes the sunken ship to regain his strength and energy is surprised to find Gabriela there and able to see him and is hoard. Will they both discover the truth as to what is happening? This is a fast-paced read with plenty of drama and great chemistry. Kai and Gabi are great characters and have lots of depth. I really liked it.

An outstanding 2nd book in the “Dragon Mates” trilogy! The well-developed storyline is emotionally deep, well written, action-packed, and relatable. There are twists and turns, humour, danger, witty banter, and excitement that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Amazing and strong characters – fated mates; their chemistry is off the charts. Definitely recommended.

This book was very enjoyable. Loved that Gabe is a no nonsense strong character. She's an underwater archeologist and thinks that she and her fellow archeologist have found the find of the century. What they find is the gold hoard of Kai a water Dragon. I missed the first book of this series so I'll go back and read that. They is an enjoyable story and hope you like it as much as I did.

Kai and Gabi started off on the right foot. A jolt of something in a hand shake. Must be nice if you stop and think about it to know your mate from the start. I think it is cute that they don't even think about mates when they first meet. A lot of things happen some dangerous, some sexy and some just not thinking. An excellent story. I like it. This book offers plenty of excitement, emotional turmoil, drama, tension, passion and romance. I loved Kai and Gabriella. Their chemistry was hot and the pull attraction powerful. I was definitely Thrilled with this book.
The underwater aspect was very interesting. Never heard about Water dragon before and that was really cool.
Kai is Water dragon and Gabi, archeologists is looking for stolen treasure.

Gabi sees a dragon and cannot believe her eyes. Kai is a water dragon and the gold in the boat belongs to him. Gabi meets a stunningly gorgeous man in a bar but has no idea just who he is. The treasure goes missing and Gabi is blamed, Is it her fault? And what has her grandmother got to do with it? Fantastic story and I loved it.
