Enjoy This Heartfelt Romance From Bestselling Author Lucy McConnell.

Liam Bernhard has climbed Egyptian pyramids, skydived, searched for sunken treasure, reached high camp on Mount Everest, and paddle boarded in Antarctica. He has one final wish before he dies; he wants to be married. With time running short, he hires Pamela Jones to find him a bride.
Kiera Martin has done the Billionaire Marriage Brokers arrangement once before and it didn’t turn out well. She left her verbally abusive husband and BMB behind to nurse her mom through cancer treatments—expensive cancer treatments. Three years later, with few financial options left, still carrying baggage from her first marriage, and her mom in remission, Kiera gives Pamela one more chance.
What she thinks will be the fast road to debt reduction turns out to be the hardest path she’s ever trod as Liam’s diagnosis looms over their every minute together. He showers her with enough love to last eternity, which is good because eternity may be all they have to look forward to. In order to find her happy ending in a world where sorrows outweigh the joys, Kiera must learn how to live in the moment, cherish every good gift, and love like she was dying.

(4.5 Stars) I made a colossal mistake before reading this book. I didn't read the blurb, so I had no idea what I was getting into and boy, oh, boy! This is such an emotional read and I just wasn't prepared for it. A book that can bring me to tears is a book well-written because that doesn't happen too often. It probably doesn't help that a loved one passed away from cancer almost exactly a year ago and those feelings just came flooding back.

Kiera is just getting over a bad marriage and when she's recruited to be a billionaire bride once again, she's hesitant, but her need of money propels her to jump in and do it. Liam is dying and his final wish is to be married. This couple immediately has a deep, almost other worldly, connection and I enjoyed their moments together immensely--especially the ways in which they made lasting memories.

Kiera is able to get past her trust issues quite easily. I love how kind she is and the way she makes his dreams come true. Liam is such a likable guy--anyone would have trouble resisting his charm. I love their connection, relationship, and sweet interactions. I love the little heartbreaking wrench that's thrown into their future. When characters think of others above themselves and the story plays out in such a tender way, my heart just can't take it. Focusing on the positive and living in the moment are really great messages that I took away from the story and I love a book with morals to the story. This is a great feely book--one that I think is well done.

Content: mild romance (kissing, flirting); moderate religious elements (some talk of afterlife, praying beliefs). Clean!

I'm giving this book 5 stars because it emotionally touched me. It actually made me cry which is a very hard thing to do. I'm not really a book crier. I could tell that the author wrote this book from a personal place. If you have ever lost a loved one to cancer- or watched someone slip away from you with any illness, this book will probably bring those feelings back. The story doesn't dwell in hard and unhappy places long though which I really appreciated. It focused more on the living and loving aspect.

I loved the hope, the enjoying life while you can attitude and the loyalty displayed. My connection to the characters felt almost instant. So well done on an emotional level.

I wish the book had been longer. I wanted more. More details with extended family, and some of those blanks filled in. I wanted the ending filled in a bit better. I felt like I got the soup ending instead of the hearty dinner I was looking for when I was so hungry. :)

This series is so fun. I love it. This one is definitely the most emotional of the bunch!

I have to say this book was amazing. In the short fast read it was deep, developed and almost made me cry like a baby. Okay not really but still it was that good. I took me back to my dad. In fact at the time of writing this it is July 28. My dad passed away from complications to cancer Nov 2006 one week from his 53rd birthday. This November it will be 10 year ago and I still have not listened to the recording from his funeral. He was classified under the denial/ it's not going to happen to me. So ya this book was hard to read but so beautifully written. Loyalty and love. Just beautiful.

I'm such a huge Lucy McConnell fan and was ecstatic when I got an email that her newest book was out. The book was not what I was expecting, it was so much more. Romantic love, brotherly love, friendship, tenderness and caring, life and death. It's all there and I just can't recommend this book enough.

This book is so cute! I love the whole story, it's well written, full of love and kisses, and I love that I could read it in a short afternoon's time. And I love that it's a clean romance that I don't have any problem passing on to my daughter to read.

I love Kiera, and that she is able to have another chance after her first BMB marriage that didn't work. It was great to me to see her happy and healthy after her quick appearance in The Academic Bride. I love her compassion for everyone she meets. I love how she's able to care for her mom, for her patients at the cancer institute and that she's able to determine right away that Liam is sick and how to care for him.

Liam is a great character as well! I love the idea of his life, jetting from place to place with his brother David, finishing off the bucket list they've created for themselves. I love his lack of selfishness, and how to the very end he's caring for Kiera and David both, giving them what they both need to move on.

This book made me laugh, it made me cry, and it made me sigh in happiness. Make sure to grab your own copy!

My favorite!!!

I have read this entire series and the spin off. This is the one I always come back to. Liam and Kiera's relationship made me laugh and cry and want to throw things. Her relationship with David did too. This is by far my favorite of this series. Liam is so selfless and Kiera is so giving. She becomes his wife to help him, he is sick and she is a nurse. She creates adventures for him to enjoy until he can't anymore and he creates a safe place for her. It is heart wrenching and soul restoring. I recommend any of these books.

A tremendous, billionaire romance. Liam Bernhard is dying from cancer. The only thing he rejects is never marrying. Pamela Jones of Billionaire Marriage Brokers finds him a bride, Kiera Martin. The only problem is that Keira's first marriage via BMB left her slightly bitter because of a verbally abusive husband.

Lucy McConnell put together an inspiring story. The moral is to live life to the fullest as though you're dying. Several of the characters come out of the death stronger and more alive. While the story does involve death, it has a spectacular ending.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Haunting. Inspirational. Romantic. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.

While the whole marriage broker thing made me wary, this turned out to be a beautiful story about what love really is. While we often think of romantic love when we consider marriage, it is so much more. Lucy McConnell has show that so beautifully in this story about Liam, Kiera, and David (Liam's brother). Love is all those lovely thing read about in I Corinthians 13 and this story puts that into practice. The story of love in these pages is one that everyone will admire and desire to emulate. Love is so much more than attraction and romance, though that can play an important part. The love shown in this story is all encompassing, permeating all areas of life. Living life well through love is a story worth telling and it is told well here.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Liam Bernhard is dying of cancer but wants a companion so marries cancer nurse Kiera Martin who had a bad experience with Billionaire Marriage Brokers the first time around. She and Liam and his brother David do some traveling and enjoy their time together, but David and Kiera start to fall for each other. As his illness progresses, Liam asks David to leave so he can have time alone with Kiera to experience what marriage is like. An enlightening look at living with a terminal illness which is well done and worth the read.

The Second Chance Bride

This is a marvelous but emotional book. There should be a trigger warning because it involves the last days of a terminal cancer patient. That being said the book is very well written and handles the situation in an extremely sensitive manner. There are quite a number of lighthearted moments which offset some of the more somber moments. As Liam tries to make the most of his last days on earth, he decides he wants a chance at having someone to love him in the last days. Kiera has been a cancer nurse for many years and has gone through her mother having cancer. The BMB enlist her help to give Liam a wonderful chance at finding love in the end.

EMOTIONAL

This was a very emotional book. I don’t read sad books. It was a great book though.
Liam was the most amazing man. I loved him so much. David, his brother was wonderful.
I am just so sad to know how cancer affected them and the bride Keira. They went through a tragic time.
I needed comfort after this book. This is your only warning. This book will make you really feel sad.
I am glad there was a happy ending, but I am still grieving. 😢

Have a tissue this book grabs your heart

I have read all the other books in the series leading up to this one. While the others were really good this one was outstanding and one I will never forget. I truly believe that God used Lucy to say exactly what he wanted us to know about life and love.

Blessings to Lucy for allowing herself to be that conduit.

Ooh, this one was complicated. Two brothers: one dying and trying to experience life to the fullest, and the other in denial of the first's impending death and along for the experiences. Kiera is called in as a wife for Liam and eventually his nurse and caretaker. They bond from the beginning and feel like soulmates...but she has feelings for brother David as well.

A love story

This series has been book after book of relationships that change over the course of time. There have been happily ever afters and some angst along the way, but this book touched all the emotions. It’s a love story that ebbs and flows. As much as I didn’t want to read about heartache, I found myself not being able to put it down.

Emotional, bittersweet

Oh my, that what pulled at the heartstrings. There were a lot of great lines worth highlighting as the characters talked about dealing with death. The romance was pure and sweet, yet complicated because of the love triangle. Oh, it was a book I’ll remember.

It's no spoiler knowing Liam is terminal as that is discussed from the beginning. The topic of death and dying are handled carefully and with great tact by Ms McConnell. Having lost my mother to cancer, the story was sometimes painful but not overwhelmingly so. Just make sure you have plenty of tissues.

Sometimes Love makes you cry

Every book in this series has great, The Second Chance Bride is outstanding. It's a beautifully written story about a love that touches the soul. Liam and Keira share a love that knows no bounds, but David's love is just as real.
This book should come with a box of tissues. I cried because it was sad, but I also cried because it was beautiful.

Grab the tissue box, and keep it handy.

A beautiful love story. Be prepared to cry, a lot. Ms. McConnell somehow managed to find love in death and make it one of the sweetest stories I have ever read. I strongly recommend this book.

I loved this billionaire book the most I think. I cried, got excited, swooned— all of it. Such a sweet story that I loved diving into! And I hated it when it was over. That’s when I know I’ve loved a good book. I feel like anything I want to say will spoil it! It was just awesome.
