I really enjoyed reading all the books in this series all the characters were really interesting an all came together well in the overall story.

This was an interesting series that I liked but didn't love. It lacked the thrill in thriller and seemed to float over the storyline with events fading into each other. There was a lot of instant love which was surprising for mafia Alpha males and that just didn't ring so true.

Okey, so I liked the characters, but this author is not that talented in the excitement/thriller department.

When you figure out who the "bad-guy" is in the middle of the second book, you kind of have a long way to go before you get closure on the whole ordeal. The only reason I kept reading was because I wanted to see who each of the brothers ended up with, and also to see what they did with the "bad-guy" when they caught him. AND BOY, was that a let down. 5 books building up to that moment, and poof.
You should stick to romance Glenna Sinclair, that's where your strength is.

This is the kind of series where you have to read all the books or the story won't make sense. It's good in the sense that it has romance, and hot scenes, but it's so predictable, I mean, with just the first book and the titles of the books you figure out what's going on. Also, I hate when the big bad guys with everything going for them are so easily fooled and played. Like with so many series the individual stories are interesting and entertaining, and the shared plot that goes through all the books is good, but many things are predictable and some things are just plain ridiculous. I get this kind of books use the instant love card many times, but in a couple of cases it's just ridiculous.

So we have five books, the first one Brian is about the father, and then the others are about some of his kids: Killian, Sean, Kyle and Ian. When you start the second book you see that another one of his kids, Stacy is also a main character in Killian's book, that only leave Kevin. So by the second book you know who the bad guy is, just because is the only one without a book, that means that either he dies, or he is the bad guy, and since it's pretty obvious that is someone close to the family you know. That's one of the things I didn't like.

Book 1, Brian: Cassidy is waiting for her daughter when she gets a call telling her that they have her daughter and that she must do everything they tell her to do or she will die. They send her to meet Brian, with whom Cassidy had an affair. So she goes and ends up as Brian's assistant, in the perfect position to get information for the kidnappers. Brian is the CEO of a company that acts as a front to the Irish Mafia. His friend Jack is the boss, he just runs protection for him, but he is involved, at least indirectly, and it's affected when several of his deals start to fall. Something is happening and he is not sure what, until Cassidy breaks down and confesses that her daughter is in danger and that she is also Brian's daughter. Brian is trying to find his daughter when the person who has her finds out that Cassidy told Brian and asks her to come to him or he will kill her daughter. When Brian finds out that Cassidy is gone, he goes after her, but arrives to late to save her, but manages to rescue Brianna. They plan to use Cassidy to hurt Brian, but he manages to find out where she is being held, and she manages to escape her captors, so she returns to Brian, who confesses that even though he loved his wife, he never forgot Cassidy and asks her to marry him. They get married and everything is going perfectly, until they find out that Stacy's fiance was murdered and they are afraid that Stacy is the next.

At the end of the book there are a few things that get really obvious, and that they don't even consider, like the fact that someone had access to Cassidy, even when she was inside the house. They should have started to search for whomever had access to them, suspect everyone!



Book 2, Killian: So Killian is the biological son of Brian and Abigail, but Abigail was always rescuing kids, and Stacy was one of them. They could never adopt her officially, but she was considered part of the family, until her mother got sick and decided to hide it from her daughters until the very end. Abigail died and Stacy blamed her father, thinking that he hid Abigail's sickness because he didn't care about them, taking away from the Abigail's last days. She is so mad that she goes away and refuses to talk to him, not even to tell him she's getting married. When Brian finds out that someone is after them, he sends Killian to look after Stacy, and she sees him following her, every day, but the day her fiance is murdered, so she believes that Brian asked Killian to kill her fiance, because he didn't like him and since Stacy thinks that her father doesn't care about her, it makes sense to her.

Killian has been in love with Stacy for a long time, but since she is practically his sister, he stays away from her. When he is sent to protect her he is forced to spend time with her and his feelings only get worse. When a friend of Stacy lets her know that Killian feels something for her, she sees it as an opportunity to get revenge, she plans to seduce Killian and then kill him, punishing him for killing her fiance, and Brian for ordering it. She finally orders the hit, but while she is waiting to see what happens she starts feeling bad and realizes that she loves Killian, so when he escapes the killer she feels relieved and tries to cancel the hit, but someone else also paid to have Killian killed. When the killer attacks again, he lets Killian know that it was Stacy who order the hit. When he confronts her, she confesses everything, and Brian feels bad because Stacy thinks him capable of something like that, and they tell her that the killer after Killian is the same that killed her fiance, later, Jack confesses that he had her fiance killed, because he was a mole from the Italian mob, sent to gather information and eventually break her heart, he was a married man that was going to stand her at the altar. So Stacy has to accept that she was wrong. Then Killian is kidnapped by the killer who is mad because he thinks someone betrayed him, but they find him and Stacy ends up killing the killer and saving Killian.

What no one bothers to look into, is the fact that it was Kevin who gave Stacy the killer's name, also that the person after Brian and his family still have access to information that only the family should have.



Book 3, Sean: Sean is the youngest biological son of Brian and Abigail. He is asked by Jack, his father's friend, to look after Delaney, his illegitimate daughter, who is having trouble with her ex. He starts training her in boxing, trying to get her to be able to protect herself. While being together, they start to have feeling for each other, so at the end they fall in love, of course. She finds out that Sean knew who she was from the start and that he manipulated her from the start, and she gets mad, but quickly forgives him because she loves him. Then her father tells her that Sean is working with him and that she hates what he does so much she should have Sean and leave him, but she refuses and says that she loves him and will be with him no matter what.

Brian is arrested, and Brianna and Sean try to get to him. They know that the federals are just fishing, and they are trying to get him to betray Jack, but of course, he doesn't. He is beaten in jail, but in a surprising move they retire the charges and let him go. Sean gets his hands on the evidence they used to arrest him and discovers that someone very close to the family is the guilty one. Then he receives a call from the guy that's after them and his suspicions are confirmed by Kevin himself, that wants to destroy Brian because he thinks he killed Abigail, not knowing that it was Sean, after she begged him to end her pain. Kevin says that if he tells anyone he is behind the attacks, he will kill Delaney, so he runs away, taking Delaney to Europe where he thinks they will be safe.

I just don't understand why he couldn't let the others know who was behind the attacks, and take Delaney to safety, or just kill Kevin and then explain to the other what was going on. I get that he loves Delaney, but the others are his family, and he just abandoned them to a crazy guy.



Book 4, Kyle: So Kyle is an adopted kid, Abigail rescued him from the system and gave him a home. He goes to Las Vegas and there he is drugged and manipulated into marrying Amelia. She was contacted by a mysterious man that told him to marry Kyle and keep him occupied in exchange of money to pay for her father's care, and since she blames Brian for destroying her family, she thinks it's the perfect opportunity to get her revenge, but things get complicated, in part because Kyle suspects something happened, and in part because he feels guilty for what she is doing to him. Later she starts having feelings for Kyle, and then everything gets more complicated when she confronts Brian and he tells her that he never had an affair with her mother and there must be another reason for her to leave her father. She is confused and not sure anymore, she talks to her father and realizes that he is not as perfect as she thought. She always thought he was innocent, and that it was his pain for the divorce that made him take the wrong decisions, but he knew what he was doing when he participated in the fraud that affected many innocent people. Not knowing who to blame anymore, she feels even worse for what she did. She later finds out that her father lied to her because he didn't want to tell her that her mother had left him for a girl, so he said that her mother's lover was Brian.

Everything gets even more complicated when Kevin attacks again, during a meeting with the heads of the Italian and Irish mafia. The boss of the Italians and Jack are hurt, and Kyle saves them to avoid war. After that, he confronts Amelia and she tells her everything, he throws her out of the house, but she refuses to leave, and at the end he accepts her back. Also, Sean returns when he finds out that Delaney father is hurt, and tells everyone that Kevin is behind the attacks. When they try to find Kevin he is already gone.

What I don't get from this book is why they never go after Mickey, after all he was the one who drugged Kyle and helped Kevin. If they are after him, they should start with those that were helping him, but they never mention anything about it. And no one yells at Sean for not telling them sooner, especially Delaney, since her father was hurt because he didn't speak sooner.



Book 5, Ian: Ian was another of the kids that Abigail saved and adopted into her family. He thinks he is incapable of love, but of course he loves his family very much. Since the Italians and the Irish are trying to avoid war after the attack, Ian has to marry the Italian's boss' daughter. Mia is not happy, but she knows she will feel guilty if she doesn't get married and a war starts, so she accepts to marry Ian. She wants a chance with him, and as always, just after spending a few days together they end up falling in love with each other. Ian and his brothers are doing their best to find Kevin, but they can't, they just keep with their plans, and the wedding. When they are leaving the church they are told about an explosion on the reception hall, where Mia's aunt and Jack's wife, among others, were killed. The war is about to start again, but they rally together. While the Callahans are looking for Kevin, the women go to a hotel to wait for them. Eventually they go back and Ian and Mia have their wedding night. The next day Ian goes to look for clues of where Kevin is, and gets some information, but Kevin outsmarts everyone again and goes to the hotel were he takes Mia hostage.

Kevin is in love with Brianna and thinks she loves him too, despite having her kidnapped and trying to kill her family, so when they try to exchange Brianna for Mia he doesn't suspect, and Brianna takes the opportunity to drug him. They take him to a warehouse where they try to understand why he did what he did. He gets crazy and tells them that Brian killed Abigail, that he saw the report saying that she was asphyxiated, and then Sean confess that he was the one to kill her because she asked him to do it. Killian gets mad, but Kyle and Ian understand and Brian too, forgiving his son and telling him that he doesn't blame him, Kevin goes ballistic when he finds out and Brian shoots him in the head.

After everything that happened, it seems that it ended too easily for Kevin, and they leave a lot of questions unanswered, like how the guy that wasn't supposed to be involved with the family business is a criminal mastermind.

breathtaking

This story about The Callahans was simple amazing. A mob family that knew violence from the very beginning, secrets that destroyed lives and love that changed everything. It made you laugh, it made you cry, it even made think "What the hell were they thinking" moments. Throughout the telling of each member of this family we learned some hard lessons about life. Poor Brian, he had the hardest part of it all. A wife with 2 kids and a woman that he fell in love with and daughter he didn't know about. Life changed the most for him. Then we have Killian who fell in love with Stacy... kind of sister but not. They finally got their happy ending. Poor Sean, found love almost lost it but had this dark secret that did destroy his whole family....him giving his mother Abigail want she wanted death. Finally the finally 4 adopted kids had the beat life finally offered them but it was almost taken away by the one person that they never expected. I felt so bad for them but Kevin jus lost it and blamed the whole family. In the end they all got that happy ending that their mom wanted. This book just blew me away. Such great work that I hope to see more from her soon. 5 stars absolutely.

3.5 I read all the series individually unfortunately I couldn't find the fifth anywhere apart from as part of the complete set.
As I had read the first four I needed to find out what happened to the bad guy in the end. As I hadn't had much faith in this series and felt a little flat conviction that the final installment wasn't going to be much was not really a surprise the ground did not open up and I was not amazed to say that it was anti climatic would be too strong as I didn't have hope.
I got most of this series through free kindle books etc which is always a good way to try new authors. I have a few more of her books in my library if they are as graphic with the graphic scenes they will not be for the faint of heart or those who are easy to offend. Even the romance in book 5 seemed disjointed and no context like they were just stuck In to give the book some to make it "sexy" .

Love family sagas!!!

I loved the Callahan clan! It made me cry, laugh and fall in love with all of them every time. Hope to have a happy story for Brianna and Jack some day.... It's a little repetitive some of the stories in each book, but it kept me up to date on what happened in the past. I love family sagas and their characters and life, it's like mine without the mafia and guns, always intrigued me life inside a mafia family. I enjoyed every minute of the 5 books and would recommend to all who love family, strong independent men and women, respect and honor among family and love.

Great series

When I first started reading I thought it was going to be another book of one repetitive sex scene after another. I almost quit reading but I'm glad that I didn't. It soon got more interesting and intriguing. Each book led me more into the family stories. I was hooked halfway into the first book.

The Last Callahan

I could not find the single "Ian," so skipped the first four to get to him. "Ian" was an excellent wrap up to the the Callahan series. Trapped into an arranged marriage due to love and loyalty to his family, he was quite surprised at his developing feelings for Mia. Meanwhile, the hunt for Kevin continues and each of the Callahan clan wraps up their stories.

So a kid who killed his own mother was tearing his adoptive family apart because he couldn't accept his mother's death. I was pissed at Sean for not telling his family before he left. Brian is the father I wish I had.

Finding Your True Love

Brian meets Cassidy again because of their daughter. Killian and Stacey finally ignore being brother and sister. Sean and Delaney have to deal with lies. Kyle and Amelia marriage becomes real. Ian and Maria arranged marriage is a blessing.

I was not a fan of BRIAN, but interested. I wanted to see if my theory about the bad guy was right so I continued reading. KILLIAN was better and I thought there was some hope. Forgiving the fact that your wife put a "hit" out on you...crazy! SEAN was the best of the series for me, but I was confused by his actions at the end when he figured out who the bad guy was. He just runs off and leaves his family blowing in the wind? No heads up? KYLE and IAN were okay but not as good as the previous two. There were a lot of things not resolved, a lot of questions not answered for me. All in all, the first book left me curious enough to move on to the next but the series fell flat.

A very good read.

I purchased this book in error, mafia stories are not the type I go for. It's been in my Library a little while but a couple of days ago I started to read it, and I am very glad I did. Sean is my favourite, I cried tears as I read it, often I get lumps in my throat or my eyes fill up but never had tears running down my face. All the females were strong characters, they had to be to live with these men. All the men were bad, but were very attractive nonetheless, and all did right for the women they loved. A very good read.

Family and the ties that bind

The Callahans are a strong family with strong bonds. When the matriarch of the family passes away the family struggles to stay strong. But as time progresses they begin to pick up the pieces to move forward, well most of them do. But life is affected by this death and shakes each persons view on love. When a blast from the past walks back into Brian's life and a threat to the family comes from within, can the family rally together. Let's not forget their ties to the Irish Mob as well and all the danger that throws into the mix.

I enjoyed this box set and the mystery plot that connected each book.

This was a good series, not great but good. I enjoyed Sean the best but you really do have to dead these together. They just kind of dangle off...it's like each story is not complete. The aren't cliff hangers per say but the story is incomplete.
I guess the thing that bugged me the most about this series is how fast these "alpha" males all declared their love. They all were loners but as soon as a girl came along they were dispensing with the "I love yous" in just a couple of weeks.

I chose this rating because this was a really great series! The characters were amazing and honest. When the boys met the love of there lives they fell hard and were very protective. I never would have believed who the monster was that was threatening there family and their business. I really enjoyed this series. I enjoyed the love romance that was happening also. I recommend these books to all romance readers.

This is the first series I have read from this author. I quite enjoyed it and even though it wasn't as angsty as some Mafia stories I have read, it was still interesting. It was nice getting to know all the main characters and how their lives played out. All in all a great read.

Family Ties

So their mafia but what a family. I loved these characters and the story. I hope that we can catch up with the Callahan's and see what is going on with all the babies coming.
