This series and spinoff might have been dragged on to long. Tammy still my favorite and she was definitely a real woman taking care of her husband side child. Essence was my least favorite, all that to end up with Sept. I thought Avon and Ace were a cute couple.
I loved this series, so many people and emotions were involved that it was crazy. I'm glad every situation was worked out but I loved me some Tammy cause she was the real deal. Excellent read
This book?? STRESS. Absolute, top tier, make you cuss out your favorite character STRESS. Tammy’s mama out here being everybody’s problem. Latrell’s acting suspicious. Essence is back in Sept’s arms and Honey is STILL being a menace. And don’t even get me started on Ace and Avon if they don’t catch a break soon, I might riot.
Jahquel J gave us everything: betrayal, secrets, scandal, and love that stays fighting for its life. I laughed, I screamed, I threw imaginary hands. If you like your love stories loud, messy, and full of “WTF did I just read?!” energy, this one’s your kind of chaos.
Jahquel OMG, I asked my bestie for a hood love story without the overwhelming drama and I'll be damn if she didn't recommend exactly what I needed. B.A.E!!!!!! And when I tell You I read BAE & HE STILL BAE straight through! I absolutely loved these series. I love the strong black men and their spoiled ass women.
I had a love hate relationship with Tammy, sometimes she was way too much especially when it came to Latrell and the other times I'm sitting back like yes say that. I loved all their relationship.
I believe my favorite female character was Essence and my favorite male was between Hakeem and Latrell. I loved when. Hakeem cut Monett off (get some act right) lol! I honestly wanted Latrell to do the same to Tammy but Tammy hard headed ass would suffer before she would have admit she's wrong. I loved how she would check Moët ass.
From the beginning It was something about Sept that I liked even after all the bullshit and something about Kamari I never connected with needless to say I was glad when Essence and Sept hooked back up. She has such a kind and forgiving Spirit I love her! Iesha & Cabrina and Honey got on my last damn nerve ughhhhh
My I loved all the kids but Ace daughter was my favorite, she loved her daddy and nothing her mama said about Avon could not tarnish the image she had for Avon.
The series was good, but Avon and Ace truly tested my patience. The disrespect that Avon recieved from Ace's children's mother, Ace should've checked her, from the very beginning. Ace knew that she was bitter, (his children's mother), and if he knew that Avon was the woman for him, he should've protected her more, when it came to both Avon's well-being, and her emotions. It seemed that neither of them could get it together, and I wanted to slap the both of them. Hopefully, there will be a spin-off of Avon and Ace, becoming a family, like Moët and Zane.
Monett and Hakeem wasn't mentioned nearly as my much in this series, however, they both were very successful, and were at the top of their careers. Monett finally had her family, and she loved Hakeem, just as much as Hakeem loved Monett. I admired Hakeem for being the bigger person when it came to Monett's son 's father. Hakeem not only was the major role model in Monett's son's life, but he also took care of him, as if he was his own. There's not a lot of men that would be able to deal with that, and a broken woman, and he did both exceptionally well. I would've loved to see Hakeem walk Monett down the aisle, after all that they went through.
Kamari disappointed me the most in this series. The secrets, the lies, the betrayal, to Essence was disgusting to me. I really thought that he would've treated Essense better, knowing what she went through with Sept, or Savion. The icing on the top was Kamari's mother. Essence was a better person than I could ever be, because there's no way, I could've or would've tolerated the treatment that Honey gave Essence. Kamari was so weak when it came to his mother, and it was unfair, to both Essence, and Kanari. Boundaries were crossed, and it was all because of Kamari's actions, his lies, and his secrets. In the end, Kamari nor Savion deserved Essence, or her love.
Most of this series was based on Tammy, and she was indeed the strongest of the women. The obstacles that Tammy was given, the average woman would've been broken. Just when Tammy thought that she was dealing with an issue head-on, something else would hit her full force. It was if she couldn't catch a break, and finally she became over-whelmed, and she shut down. Latrell was there, but due to Tammy not telling him what she needed, and expected of him, he felt unappreciated. When Tammy and Latrell went to counseling, suggested by Big Mama, that's the best thing that the both of them done, because it opened up the lines of communication. Tammy and Latrell both loved each other very much, but without communication, the relationship wouldn't been savaged, but thank goodness it was. They were both very good people, that had a heart of gold, and I see them being able to conquer the storm.
I seen the ups and downs of friendships, relationships, and bitter ex's in this series. The women laughed, cried, and they showed their weaknesses, and their strengths. I seen the good, and the bad... the ladies go from the bottom to the top, and from spoiled little girls, to mature women, wives, and mothers. It was definitely a journey to get through it all, but job well done Ms. Jahquel!
Through all the fights, the break downs good see everyone come out stronger through all the BS. I had heard so much about this series and some glad I caught up. Ace, Zayir, Latrell are some strong brother dealing with all the mood swings in this story, especially Latrell. Tammy is still a handful and very verbal sometimes. Glad she was able to release all her tension and get back on track. Sept even got back on track. It was good that Essence learned to love herself first with all she went through, as for Avon, she finally got what made her happy.
Tammy and Latrell are still together and going strong. Eli,Dion,Ricky and Zen are doing well. Ace and Avon are engaged and having their first daughter together. ALesha has finally move on and found her a new man. Essence and Kamari are co-parenting their daughter he has taking responsibility for both of his daughters. Essence and Sept are dating and taking things slow. Moet and Zyair had their second baby boy a son Zyn. Monett and Hakeem are still going strong their parents are working out their marriage.
Tammy is the only character I like out of this series. She went to therapy to get the help she needed & I love her growth. She’s honest & tells ppl what they NEED to hear. The delivery might not be the best but I love it.
Essence was a disappointment bc I thought she loved herself enough to be done w/ Sept.
Avon was only 22 letting Ace give her struggle love 😩
I always have to remember they’re all young after reading.
Jahquel knows how to give us a good series that keeps us turning the page.
Now that was a great series. The drama was a lot. I loved every second of it. I’m glad they got themselves together. Kamari shocked the hell out of me with his actions. His mother was too much. I didn’t like her at all.
I don’t know if I could have forgiven Sept. that took a lot of prayer to make that happen.
Once again, my book wife Tammy was a comedian. She reminds me of a female version of Menace Caselli.
....this series is on my list of favorites. Moët Zyair and the crew were very easy characters-to get into. I love how this series moved away from the typical gangsta love and had real relatable characters made it a plus... oh well off to hunt for another dope series
Whew I went through all 7 books with this wild and crazy family/friend series! I laughed, cried, got mad, got sad, felt proud, felt shame, felt joy, felt sorrow! I experienced every emotion possible and enjoyed every minute of it! Thanks JJ…you’re really an amazing author❣️
Another awesome series by Jahquel. I put off reading this series but I am glad I finally read it and have enjoyed the entire series. Some of the characters might have ran my blood pressure up but it was an awesome read.
Always a joy reading a Jahquel J. book. I love how she gave more insight on Tammy and Essence in this book. Essence a real one because him and his Mama would’ve got the business.
I love how this book wraps everything up and Tammi will forever be my fave…. She’s so strong and loving and supports everyone I am so glad she finally went to therapy because even the strong friend needs to be checked on
This book brought the entire series to a close. I'm so glad thay essence found out the truth. Tammy allowed her walls to fall & learned how to accept help & love.
Where do I start, from the beginning this series pulls you in and captures your attention. I love how Jaquel J was able to give the view points from all couples involved in the story and there was never a dull moment. I would love to hear more about Ace and Avon's story, on the end they were my favorite. It was good to see Tammy's side of things and I am glad her and Latrell has their happily ever after. This is a series that I could read all over again, if you haven't read the entire B.A.E series you definitely need to.
Jahquel J really came through with this series. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. I was kind of sad when we got to the end. I’m like Jahquel, can we get Iesha’s story please? What about the kids? There’s about 13 kids in these 7 books (14 if we gone and add Blake’s kid) so let’s get some of that. Pleeeeeaseee!!!!! I give this series 100 stars!!!!! It’s definitely a must read.
I love the series and all the characters in it! I'm glad everything worked out for Tammy because she deserved it! I was proud of Essence for not staying with Kamari and taking things slow with Sept. Ace and Avon had a very challenging relationship due to bitter Iesha but I'm glad she moved on. It was really refreshing to hear about Moet and Monett too and how their lives were going. Great book!
