Remember that I told you I was in Deep trouble? I am. When one of your fave authors decides to write a second book about angels and that second book is absolutely Beyond everything you were expecting. When you have twists you didn't see coming. When you laugh and cry at the same time and can't choose between Rafe or Luc. You know the author did an amazing job. You did it again Nancee.

Nancee Cain Tempts Readers

...with her quirky heroines, hot-as-sin angels, southern charm, and cheeky humor. The wonderful characterization of Saving Evangeline continues in this story, featuring a young woman, Jo, who's torn between the bad boy (Luc, her boss) and the good boy (Rafe, her guardian angel).

The story begins when angel Gabriel summons angel Raphael to God's chambers, telling Raphael not to make Him wait long.

"He's already pretty upset. He hasn't been able to crack level 666 on that candy game He plays on His phone."

"That's bizarre. I mean if anyone could, He could."

"You know how He is. He likes to experience what frustrates the humans."

This is precisely why I don't play Candy Crush!!!

God sends Raphael on a mission to rescue Jo from her lecherous, soul-sucking boss. Rafe already knows Jo from helping her through her abusive childhood. God urges him to take a little vacation on Earth afterwards.

"You need to live a little, Raphael. Everyone needs time off to relax. Even I took the seventh day to -- how do they say it now? -- chillax?"

I love God. :-D

Jo has a boss from hell but dang is he devilishly delicious. Butter my biscuit; he looks good enough to eat. He wines and dines her; makes her knees weak. Jo considers succumbing to his charms.

Not if heavenly handsome Rafe has anything to say about it. He calms and protects Jo, but seems to hold back from a physical relationship.

Too late, Rafe realizes he has deep feelings for Jo. I'm no stranger to love. Look at Who I work for. He's the Author of it. He's not supposed to fall in love with a human. How will this supernatural conundrum unfold? Will he follow God's plan, or will he wing it?

The twist leaves me curious about the relationship between God and the devil. Things that make you go hmm.

Well done, Nancee! Excellent writing.

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

Ladies and gentleman, Nancee Cain does it again! I just LOVE the way she writes about angels and make them seen so human. Even God is a bit human and I love it!

As usual I didn't read the blurb so I had no idea what to expect (and I was anxiously waiting for this book)! I fell in love with the characters, specially Luc! Obviously I feel in love with him and I'm claiming him for me now! She'll have to write the story of how this brazilian girl called Carol stole Luc's heart!!

As I said I just LOVE how Nancee make these characters so relatable!! I loved Saving Evangeline, it was one of my favorite reads and I loved this one too! They are different stories, Tempting Jo definitely has a more funny aproach and it worked really well for the story!
Very well done, Nancee!!

Complete review to come!

Dear lord! I am a huge Nancee Cain fan and I was lucky enough to be asked to review Tempting Jo, now if you have followed my blog, you will know Nancy's first book, Saving Evangeline, is one of the first books I officially reviewed and it started my adoration for Nancee. She is a brilliant writer and her stories really make you feel genuine emotions.

At first I was half in-lust with Luc and I can totally understand Jo's fascination with him, but Rafe..... oh brother! I want my own guardian angel and he must be just like him!!

I loved how in the start of the book we get an update of Remi and Evangeline. It warmed my heart to get a glimpse of two characters that have stayed with me long after I read the book.

I don't want to give too much away, but I will say I was on the edge of my seat from start till finish! I loved this book so much that I didn't want it to end.

Make sure you have tissues for the happy tears and a stress ball for the anger you may feel at certain points towards certain a character, whom I am hoping will get their own story.... hint hint.

Anyway, this is another fabulous story by a fabulous author!

Tempting Jo is a battle between Heaven and Hell, good verse evil with a human caught in the crossfires. It is also a book that you want to finish in one sitting because you are determined to find out what happens. You are asking yourself just what does each character have up their sleeves. It’s a book that causes you to stay up till 7am to finish. Tempting Jo was the perfect blend of paranormal and romance.

Good girl Jo wants to dance with the devil! Her hot boss Luc is everything, well almost. He is a douchebag lol but very hot, smooth talker and looks damn good in a suit. He has his eyes set on Jo but the question is what are his true intentions. Now Rafe is Jo’s guardian angel and best friend since they were four years old and it’s his job to protect Jo from her boss. Jo somewhat annoyed me because she repeated over and over she is a 25 year old and she knows how to take care of herself but yet was such a willing participant when it came to her boss. At the same time I have to give it to Jo because as the reader you know what Luc is up to and you want to bitch slap him. On the other hand there is her best friend Rafe, oh Rafe. Every woman deserves to have a Rafe in their life to look after them and care about them the way he does Jo.

Even between the battle of good verses evil we are shown what it means to truly love another. We see just how much one person is willing to go to show the person they love just how much they mean to them. Nancee Cain does an amazing job in writing this story. The way she writes about these hotter than hell angels it’s like they are down to earth humans with a flare. One of my favorite things about the way this story is written is all the southernisms that Nancee uses throughout the story. As a southern girl myself it tickled me to see many of the phrases that I use throughout this book. I have to say that I enjoyed seeing some of the other angels as well and the very last chapter of the book left me in tears from laughing so hard. Madge is my spirit animal. I can’t wait to see what else Nancee comes out with!

I finished Tempting Jo in two days; and I still am having a book hang over. You don’t have to read Saving Evangeline first; this story stand all on its own, but a few characters pop in and out of Jo’s story. Remi has been sent to bring Rafe back to the boss’s office. Rafe feels that he is in for punishment because he was unable to stop Remi from crossing the line while he was on his assignment on earth. The Boss is truly worried about Rafe and tells him that he needs to learn to loosen up and enjoy life, but he knows that Rafe is by the book and thinks having fun would let the boss down. The Boss tells Rafe he needs to go to Earth and get Jo on the right path and once he feels she is safe, he needs to take a Vacation before returning home. I don’t want to ruin this story by giving to much away. I can tell you will be surprised who is working with whom and along the way you will laughing out loud. The characters are hot and sexy, even though you find yourself wanting smack Luc DeVille smug smile off his face…lol Once again, Nancee thanking you for not only sharing another great story but sharing your talent. You will be sorry if you do not add both Temping Jo and Saving Evangeline to your TBR list.

This was an absolutely fantastic read with brilliant characters. I loved jo and Rafe. They were my favourite characters. I loved how they were with each other. Bought tears to my eyes and made me laugh. This is a must read and I would highly recommend this book. Definitely worth more than 5*. Love it

I have to admit something about angels just piques me and two of them though of different nature meaning good vs bad just makes it doubly interesting.

Of course angels are gorgeous, built and have style. But when they compete against one another and the banter just rolls on and on I can't stop laughing as I'm reading. I love banter and just like its predecessor Saving Evangeline it had plenty plus some of the same characters showed an appearance.

The flow of the book was steady and though you get the jest of what is going on from the beginning Nanceen keeps us in the ark of who will win out in the end or if anyone wins at all. Then to change it up a bit she gives us a surprise twist in the end and not only was I surprise by the out come the characters get one too.

It was a charming love story and I loved the epilogue at the end it made it complete. Thank you Nancee for a bit of heaven.

Are Angels more human?

I met some humans in my life, I can say they are sweet angels...
And some are damn sexy, making a devil out of me!

But this is not my life story haha.

Tempting the good human Jo, on one shoulder is her protector
the sweet angel of a friend Rafe and on the other shoulder is Luc
her interesting fallen angel the devil of a Boss.

Jo stands out, original and believable.
Will the Angel remember to be only her guardian, or will her Devil?

Between good and evil is true love.
How much are you willing to go to show
the person you love how much it means to you?

Love or lust? Power or Happyness?

They compete against one another and I loved the banter! Laughing as I'm writing this.
The author keeps us in the dark but I'm determined to find out what happens!
Are you?

Don't miss this sweet funny charming story!

I must admit that I am struggling with this one a little. I have thought a lot about it and I finally realised that if I read this book about twelve years ago I would have enjoyed it much more. It’s a sort of book to I think suited me in my early twenties before my reading horizon widened so much. So if I am really honest, back in the day I would have given the book 4 maybe 4.5 stars. But even now it gets a solid 3*.

Overall I think the story was good and I especially warmed to Rafe’s character. Rafe is your typical good guy, torn between duty for the greater good and love for the woman he’s been guarding for years. I even had a soft spot for Luc; your typical bad boy with ‘devilish’ good looks and attitude to match. Good and evil was well represented here and the story reiterated that one cannot exist without the other.

The one character I could not get on with was Jolene. And I think that’s why I struggled with the novel. I find it hard to read a book when I dislike the main character – it sort of throws me out of sync. She was supposedly intelligent, beautiful, amazing creature, but to me she was just this naïve, silly little girl that everyone had to take care off. And she really got on my nerves using the ‘words of the day’ in the wrong context. I wanted to shake her to wake her up!

To summarise I would recommend this novel as maybe a holiday read. It was a relaxing book and one that I would take up in between something meatier perhaps. The storyline was there and the concept was good if like to believe in higher powers.

Thank you to TBConFB and the author for giving me access to this book in return for an honest review.

I voluntarily reviewed this book for TBC on FB, and it was different. In the beginning of the book Jolene irritated the daylights out of me, though it says something to the skill of the author that even while irritated and frustrated with the character, you can entirely relate to her and her experiences. As I was reading the story, I kept thinking oh, jeeze I've been there before!!, though in the end the story came around nicely, and had a delightful happily every after. Totally not my typical genre, but I'm glad I branched out a bit, I enjoyed it!

Tempting Jo is the story of Jo Sanford, small-town girl seeking her fortune in the big city. She has an enormous crush on her drop-dead gorgeous boss and has an amazingly handsome best friend who is pining for her. Life is simple for Jo, until it becomes decidedly complicated. Her boss, Luc, sets his sights on Jo as a new conquest; her best friend Rafe is really her guardian angel who discovers that he has distinctly unangelic feelings about her, and Jo is still trying to figure out what fork to eat with.

Nancee Cain creates magic in the pages she writes: her angels are sinfully unangelic, her humans are downright flawed and completely relatable, her plots are impeccable, and her writing is genius. I devoured this book with anticipation, frustration, exasperation, and awe.

While Tempting Jo is not a sequel to Saving Evangeline, Ms. Cain’s first novel, there exists a bit of shared history. Each are stand-alone and I recommend both as wonderful reads.

Heavenly Hot!

What a great read! Nancee Cain continues to delight her readers with the release of her second novel! She brings every character to life with not only their physical attributes but more importantly their personalities. The humor sprinkled throughout the book was so refreshing!
Jo is a natural beauty but is unaware of her alluring charm. She comes from a dysfunctional family and a small town. She decides to move to the city and work two jobs to support herself and Atticus, her grouchy white cat. She is a young, hard working woman determined to rise above her raising and create a life that she can be proud of! Jo’s personality, spirit and sense of humor are like a breath of fresh air!

Jo soon becomes very attracted to her new boss, Luc, a handsome man who has the ability to be charming when he needs or wants something. Yet, he revels in the power and control he has over his employees. Rafe has been her friend since childhood and has always been there when she needed him. He is also handsome and charming but sincerely cares about Jo. Yet, she has never considered him more than a friend. As the story unfolds, a love triangle develops between them. As the battle for her love is fought between her two suitors, her true feelings for each of them are revealed.
Another feather in your cap, Nancee Cain!

It felt like the wait between Saving Evangeline & Tempting Jo was an "Eternity" LOL!!! SE had such a lasting impression on me that I could not wait to get my hands on TJ. As I just knew Nancee Cain would not disappoint.

Jo has been sorely tempted by her boss Luc DeVille who will stop at nothing torturing Rafe Goodman with his threats to claim his quirky assistant for himself. Jo has definitely had some R-rated thoughts about Bossman & wants to be someone he would like to be with.

"I want to eat you, like a big ole piece of lemon pie. I'd bet you'd be tart at first bite, but then sweet."

Rafe will stop at nothing to protect Jo from the devil himself. All Rafe needs to do is get Jo to stop fantasizing about Mr. Devil and focus on him .

"I'm a starving angel, and she is an all-you-can-eat human buffet."

Although Jolene can feel the shift in her relationship with Rafe can she take off her blinders where Luc is concerned and see what has been in front of her the whole time?

"One man I want desperately to kiss, and I've just sampled the lips of the other. And what a kiss. It was like being zapped by a jolt of electricity."

I loved this book so much. Just as much as it's predecessor. Now I just have my fingers crossed that we will be getting Madge's story at some point.

Nancee Cain has delivered another fantastic story! I read this in one sitting and was laughing out loud too many times to count. I love the storyline about angels and fallen angels here on earth and not to mention hot as hell angels watching over us!

Rafe, I fell in love with immediately. I knew he had feelings of more than friends for Jolene but like most men, it takes them awhile to catch on. I love the relationship that Rafe and Jolene had that starts out as friends but you can tell the feelings run deeper than either wants to admit. Loved that Luc had a little soft side but he is the devil and that side doesn't show very often. I really loved how this story shows how Angels have feelings and can be just as human as you or I. I enjoyed reading this story and the humor and seriousness all rolled into one was one of the main reasons I enjoyed this story so much. Jolene is a strong woman and Rafe is an angel who tries to stick to his rules but as we all know rules are made to be broken.

This story proves once you fall in love, no matter who you are, you just can't stop certain things from happening. I am a fan of Nancee Cain and will read whatever she writes because I have never been disappointed and I always end up with a smile on my face after reading her books!

One is sent to tempt while the other is to protect.. One is good and one is bad....
I must have forgotten about how Raphael was an actual angel because reading the first chapter threw me for a loop. I feel kinda dumb about it now lol.
I must say I haven't read a book like this before but I found it interesting.
Luc is very good at tempting. He has the charm and good looks that brings women to their knees. While I'll was charmed by him, I found him kinda cocky at times. I thought it was hilarious he forgot her name and just called her Friday.
Jo is a character I think we can all relate to. She didn't grow up in a great place but has manage to push they that and make a life for herself. She has a best friend who has been by her side always and very tempting boss. While both have her attention, she must follow her heart and choose who she loves. I especially loved the ending of the book. Good vs Evil, who win the heart of Jo and live happily ever after... Read the book and find out!

This was a great little book and takes the crown of being the last book I have read and reviewed in 2016!

There is a strong tongue in cheek flavour to this story of Angel versus Devil , battling with their particular allures for the soul of an (almost) pure young woman. The plot was fairly predictable, but as I have said several times, it is not the destination but the journey that counts and this was a satisfying little romance with enough spice to suit any fan of the genre.

The trick is to fall in love with both men so there is always just a tinge of regret that one wins and the other doesn't, due to the supernatural prowess of both adversaries we get satisfactory results for both handsome celestial beings.

This premise of Angels on Earth is perhaps not new but Ms Cain embues her characters with enough strengths and failings to make them likeable.God himself is just delightfully eccentric in his omniscience!

If Jo is anything to go by, this series will not get stale. Looking forward to reading more.

Tempting Jo is a fun, smoking hot read. It's heaven verses hell, angels verses the devil. I loved it!! I loved all the characters. Rafe is a guardian angel who is sent to protect Jo and has been her best friend since she was 6 years old. Luc is Jo's boss who is the object of her desire and he just happens to be the devil. Jo is the quirky and funny assistant to Luc who thanks to her free will manages not to make a deal either the devil. There was a few suprises along the way that I didn't see coming. If you love angels and light hearted romances this is the book for you. I received this book for an honest review.

This story was sort of Pretty Woman with a devilish twist. What girl doesn't want a sexy guardian angel doting on her and coming to her rescue? Although with Luc, it felt like it was sliding a little towards Shades of Grey in places. Not that that is such a bad thing, those books were/are very popular after all. Tastes differ don't they? I found the story well-written and humorous in places. If you want a light-hearted, hot romance with paranormal elements, this story is sure to please.
My three star rating is purely a reflection of my personal preferences really. The Author did a great job of portraying the characters and storyline in her book.

I enjoyed this book from start to finish!
This author has the knack for writing Angels! I love that they are so human and even the big guy is 'real' with our slang as humans.

Both Rafe and Jo are amazing. I enjoyed watching them interact and their attraction - including Mr. DeVille. I wanted to hate him but I also fell to like him.

If you are a lover of angels you will devour this book and enjoy Ms. Cain's take on them! They are sexy, sweet, swoon worthy and make you wish they were real so you could call on them! (HA!)

I found Tempting Jo such a fun read. The author wrote the characters so well and I particularly liked the she made the angels and devil ‘human’ and some of their interactions with God, who is a complete technophile, were very witty. A lot of clever writing in this story and I will definitely be reading more by Nancee Cain. My thanks to TBC for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I've read by Nancee Cain and although I did enjoy it I wasn't blown away.

I enjoyed reading the different POVs and the book was well written. But I found I wasn't gripped by the characters and I felt there could have been more made of Luc's feelings as it seemed a bit like an after thought.

Solid 3 star.

I enjoyed this book! It was a cute love story that included a battle between Angels, good and evil. I will admit I was a bit annoyed at times with how naive Jo was but she was still so easy to like. The added characters brought the story together. It was an easy read and flowed well.

Just finished Tempting Jo on KISS App....loved it so much. love the way Nancee Cain intergrates human ego, flaws & failings with the spiritual, sacred, paranormal combined with heat. Who woulda thunk I'd get hot for Archangel Raphiel !?! The love story of Jo Sanford runs the gamut of secrets, love triangle, demons, angels, forbidden love and best friend. WOWZA...binge read this book 'til 4am to get to the "finish"...am sleep deprived but fufilled with my journey through Nancee Cain's great read!
Treat yourself to this white feather and pink roses moment as well as her other books. You won't be dissappointed.

A super fun story about a love triangle straight from heaven...or would that be hell? I was surprised to find myself at times rooting for Mr. DeVille. Just don't tell Rafe, okay? Because of course I was rooting for him, too.

I love the way this author portrays God. He's quirky and human-ish, but reverence for Him is maintained throughout. I was very happy to see "Madge" play a role in this story! I also like that the HEA didn't come easily to the happy couple - they had to work for it.
