Chocolate Makes Everything better...even books

I have enjoyed this series as well as Cindy Bell's Sage Garden series. But with this one, it seemed like the story was a little tedious. Ally seems intelligent, but after the many times in the series she's had to be rescued, you would think she would stop placing herself in harm's way (many times in the course of the series, it has been by illegal breaking & entering). But I knew she'd do it again --and again. If I were Luke, I would be more than tired of her doing this repetitively, not just trusting him to do his job. But then when you throw chocolate, cute pets & many interesting characters into the story, it redeems itself. I will continue to read the rest of the series although I hope someday Ally will really learn her lesson, and it will remain learned!

As much as I liked this book, there was a glaring oversight. Can't believe it got past Luke. Since Charlotte's keys were missing and they were used to gain access to the store and her place, you would have thought Luke would have insisted that Ally change the locks on her place since a copy of her key was on Charlotte's keychain. Although, this is fiction, it's bad police work on Luke's part to miss this fact. I was sad for Gary and also that Emma found fool's gold in Jack. The story flowed nicely and it was another wonderful addition to the series.

Who Doesn't Love Chocolate?

I have loved every one of these mysteries. Ally and her grandmother, Charlotte, have such a wonderful relationship, and the townspeople are so nice. It makes one long for small town living. Peaches the cat and Arnold the potbelly pig bring a comic note to the stories.

Sally's friend had died from a suspicious fall. Her ex husband is a possible suspect. But, it also looks like a accidental fall.
What makes Ally and grandma Charlotte angry is the chocolate shop being ransacked. Someone is looking for what?
Sorry, Cindy Bell, but I guessed what they were looking for and who the suspect was way too early.

The Cat and The Pig

I usually enjoy Cindy Bell's stories and this was no exception. Our heroine and her grandmother are the intrepid crimefighters who solve mysteries. This was a fast and enjoyable read. Just perfect for a warm afternoon entertainment.

How anyone can stand Ally or her twit of a grandmother is BEYOND me. My cats are more intelligent than these women. If I was Luke, I would have lost interest long ago. Ally clearly has no respect for him or his profession so why would he stick around? Completely unrealistic relationship.

Another cozy mystery

This mystery certainly had several twists and turns. Just wish Ally wasn’t so naive. Wonder if the author will do a special edition cookbook with all of the recipes.

Brownies for a yard sale!

Hours later, Ally returns to find her friend dead inside her house. Was it an accident? Or murder? And who would be angry enough to push her down the stairs?

Slow and repetitive. Definitely not as good as other mysteries, but okay.

Ally and her grandmother Charlotte own, “Charlotte’s Chocolate Heaven”. When a friend of theirs has a yard sale and then murdered, the ladies are bound to find out who killed their friend.

With their store closed for the time being, they have nothing but time on their side. Will they find out who killed their friend? When can they get back into their store and bake again?

Will the local policeman, Luke; who has a thing for Ally, be upset with the ladies investigating their case?

My first read by this author and this series, but I will read more for sure!

Very intriguing

This was a really good one. I had 3 suspects in mind. I had narrowed it down to the correct one before it was revealed. I am anxious to see what is ahead for Ally and Luke
