When Mia finds herself in the wrong place, at the wrong time, the bold and daring scientist has a hard time understanding what these savage aliens want from her.
Not the kind of male who thought like others, Maxton was not able to understand his troops’ need for baser pleasures. But, he wasn’t going to deny them that pleasure after everything they had been through over the past few years. It was just unfortunate that it was what they had chosen to do on the first night back.
But, then a single glimpse of this exotic creature changed it all…
The fearless, strong alien warrior swallowed hard as his eyes drank in this entirely strange creature in front of him. He wanted her for his own more desperately than anything he had ever known. It was not the strong desire to survive, but something else entirely; something so primal he didn’t think there was a word for it.
Maxton stared at the creature still wilding, trying to get out of the place. It was the most interesting, entertaining, and scary encounter he had had in a very long time. He had heard about humans a few years back. They did not do well as slaves, and based on legislation a few years ago, they were considered an exotic animal that was not to be brought to the planet.
The real question was how did a human end up at his planet? And more importantly, why does Mia matter more to him than just a warrior’s prize?
Mia is rounding out the worst week imaginable when she comes face to face with Maxton which might explain her going with 99% reacting and 1% thinking, but when Maxton gets her to calm down and let her brain kick in these two characters begin to shine in truly charming, fun, and delightful ways.
The story does need to go through proofreading again, I lost track of how many spellings Stanzie’s husband’s name had, and a few things like that which read like dictation errors, but the story was a fun read with a slightly rushed ending.
So the CONCEPT is good, the execution however was lacking. It's written super odd, going from he she to the human and the commander etc, and it really stopped me from clearly seeing the narrators voice. There was also at least more than 20 mistakes that I picked up on and I mean, I'm pretty okay with a few mistakes, but when it's this short and has MORE than 20, somethings going wrong. It badly needed editing and honestly I returned it which I don't like to do even if it's only like a dollar like this because it is cheap but I can't support someone who's job is writing and published with so many mistakes. Kinda like if you're a butcher and the steak you give me is just hacked off the carcass and you sell it to me anyway. Sometimes the quality in these smaller books is disturbing.
There is however a great idea here, it was just very quick at points and the timeline didn't quite flow or the emotions didn't feel realistic to what was going on etc. with some editing it wouldn't be too bad, but it wasn't so I can't ignore that.
Controversy over being able to keep her eventually became more .
A earth scientist is betrayed by her coworkers an unwillingly sold as a sex slave she finds herself on the auction block being sold an Lord Commander their with his soldiers as they purchase women for themselves as he goes to leave he sees her an for unknown reason he's compiled to buy her he was only their for the morale of his troops . Her new life beings . 18+
The main male character Maxton seemed different from your usual alien who buys the abducted sold as a slave human. The female he purchased, a pity he couldn't return for a refund. Besides the above, the writing is very jerky, like someone is learning to drive stick-shift (manual) and haven't gotten the hang of it. The 2 stars are for an interesting premise, but I was really really tempted to leave at 1.
This is the 2nd book I've read by this author and sadly no improvement.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading ,MINE. The characters are endearing in their growing attractions to each other. My only complaint is that it just abruptly ended. Otherwise it was a enjoyable reading experience.
As the other reviewers stated it is a good story but it seems incomplete. It felt like the end of a chapter not the end of the story. Too many unanswered questions.
