Czarująca atmosfera ośnieżonego Londynu z odrobiną magii w powietrzu. Ona, Emily - urocza, utalentowana, z polotem. Czy da szczęściu drugą szansę i pozwoli, by złożona przysięga miłości ogrzała jej serce?
No, it never crossed my mind, though I have always loved books.

HOW DO YOU RELAX?
I love gardening. This is my garden in Belfast. We managed to squeeze about 25 trees into a very small space. It’s getting quite cramped now the trees are maturing but it feels like a little secret garden to sit in so we love it. I don't think I could ever move house as I love my garden far too much and also this was our first home together and the only house our daughter has ever known! WHAT KIND OF FOOD DO YOU LIKE?
I'm a veggie who doesn't like courgettes or aubergines! So eating out is usually quite an adventure. I love salads, pizza, fries, most vegetables especially butternut squash, most cheeses, Indian curries, pretzels and most types of bread, all kinds of fruit and ice-cream. My favourite snack is tea and toast with real butter. I do a mean roast chicken for my daughter Alice, and she loves my bread and onion stuffing made on the frying pan with a little butter and DO YOU WATCH MUCH TV?
Too much! My favourites are:

Well, I would have said no until recently when it was pointed out to me that I love fashion very much: but only certain trends, and I never change my mind about what I like. So, for the last 25 years I have worn (only black) Victorian-style blouses, long waisted overcoats, pointy-toed ankle boots, DM shoes and sandals, palazzo pants and silver costume jewellery. I have long, straight hair and my favourite perfume is the POISON range by Dior, or anything by CHANEL. I have one designer piece: a LULU GUINNESS handbag that dermot
DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT?
Yes. It happened to me. My husband Dermot is a wonderful man; strong and supportive yet gentle and thoughtful too. I wouldn't have a career without his encouragement, and I don't think I'd be nearly as happy or well-grounded either. He's my best friend. The funny thing is, when I first met him, he was really skinny with long black hair and he wore a dog collar and an overcoat from the second World War. Twenty-three years on, he's gained some muscles, shaved his head, and now resembles a Hollywood hit-man. Both looks work for HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED?
Hopefully with affection by my husband, daughter and close friends.

Emily loves Dylan. And Dylan loves Emily. Their relationship is rock solid. Everyone says they are meant to be together, it’s just a matter of when – not if – Dylan’s going to pop the Big Question. There’s just one tiny fly in the ointment: Emily hates weddings. Which is fair enough seeing as she was jilted at the altar years ago by Alex, her supposed soulmate. Still, Dylan isn’t Alex. He’s gorgeous and sexy and scruffy and kind – and more than worth taking a chance on …But what happens when the ghost of Emily’s Christmas past threatens to ruin everything? Can Dylan convince the love of his life he’s different and that their wedding day will be remembered for the right reasons? After all, with a sprinkling of snow and a touch of magic in the air, there’s nothing quite like a winter’s wedding to warm the soul...
Earlier this year I read The Seven Secrets of Happiness by Sharon Owens and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the first of Sharon’s novels that I’d read and I was pleased to discover a new author I liked. So when I was browsing on Sharon’s website to note down the titles of her other novels I saw she was working on her seventh novel A Winter’s Wedding. I made a note of it and when I saw it on Amazon I thought it sounded brilliant, a perfect book to curl up with during Winter, despite the fact Tenerife doesn’t have a Winter season. You just know Christmas is coming when the Winter-y titles begin coming out and when I received my copy of A Winter’s Wedding I couldn’t wait to get stuck in.
A Winter’s Wedding is a bit different to most Chick Lit novels, as instead of the main female and male characters hating each other, then loving each other then fighting before declaring undying love at the end, Emily and Dylan have a solid relationship. And A Winter’s Wedding charts their relationship from the beginning when they meet at a charity shop. And that is basically the plot in a nutshell. Yes, Emily has some issues to get over, but there are no plot twists or unexpected issues throughout the book. It’s purely a love story. I liked that, sometimes I get a bit bored with books that don’t have twists and turns but A Winter’s Wedding was nicely done and I enjoyed just how simple Emily and Dylan’s relationship was.
There are a few other things going on in the book, Emily’s relationship (if you can call it that) with her parents as well as her friendship with boss Arabella. There’s nothing note-worthy, though, so if you’re expecting a fast paced and frenetic read then this one isn’t for you. However for Chick Lit fans who like a change of pace once in a while and want to read about two people who genuinely love each other from the word go then this is absolutely for you.
I really liked both Emily and Dylan. They seemed so perfect for each other and they both seemed like lovely people. Emily is a bit guarded for a while, after she was left stood at the altar, but she really comes into her own when she realises Dylan is nothing like Alex, her ex. And Dylan is just the perfect guy. Seriously, this is the type of man everyone would like to meet and there’s basically nothing wrong with him. No wife, no deranged ex, no skeletons in his closet, no sirree. I found it hard to warm to Emily’s parents, as they were never really there for Emily, however they go eventually get a bit of a wake up call which made me like them a bit better. As for Arabella, I found her fascinating, if a little crazy. She has her spiteful moments but on the whole I think she was a nice person.
I really enjoyed reading A Winter’s Wedding. The change of pace really worked for me especially after the fast paced read I just finished before reading this one (Getting Away With It by Julie Cohen, if you’re wondering). It’s not a book that will appeal to all and some will find it very slow, but I enjoyed it. It comes in at just under 300 pages which makes it a very quick read. It’s the perfect read to curl up with during Christmas, and the tale of Emily and Dylan’s relationship is really sweet and it’s the kind of good-feeling story that will leave a smile on everyone’s faces after they finish reading the book!
An entertaining enough story while reading but one of those that's pretty much forgettable once read. I thought from the blurb that the story would be about Dylan convincing Emily to marry him but the bulk of the tale seems to be about Emily de-cluttering her life of past baggage by sorting out her wardrobe.
Oh.....& as is so often the case in this style of book, Emily's are parents are dire -although I am not one to advocate violence I did feel the urge to give them a good slap...a really good slap.... ;o)
it's a light reading, very enjoyable, it shows how life can be so cruel sometimes, but in the end, you'll get your happy ending. life has its ups and downs, you just have to be strong, be practical about it. don't let your emotions get you down. that's how i think of Emily. she had been let down, but she gets up and move on, and be better. and she deserves better. she deserves Dylan. Dylan is perfect. Dylan is one charming guy. He's just this gorgeous, hearthrob, well mannered guy. i just can't seem to find any flaws in him. well, this book just give me high expectation for a guy. *not a good thing i guess*
i love the characters. Emily, Dylan, Arabelle. Even Emily's parents. though they didn't really play their part well, in raising Emily, but i like it when they finally realised their faults and want to be better, want to be part of Emily's life. i just wish there's more about Dylan too. I mean, he's too perfect to be true.
Letting go of the past is not an easy thing to do. That explain Emily's wardrobe. But sooner or later she has to move on, and that time finally came when she met Dylan. Perfect moment. Perfect timing.
The love story is beautifully written, it's about the solid relationship of Emily and Dylan, the friendship between Emily and Arabelle, and the conflict between Emily and her parents.
It was OK. Writing wasn't great. Story wasn't great, there wasn't really a start, middle or end. The whole storylines with her friend Arabella and her parents are just a bit irrelevant. I wanted to read a story about a Winter Wedding. There wasn't really a storyline and the whole way through I kept thinking that the cover/title was from a different book. I didn't get the relevance of it until the final few pages. The book was not what i was expecting to read at all! I feel duped.
This book is so boring there is nothing to it no substance and it just jumps from one month to the next. One minute its Christmas the next it's summer. I really just wanted to get it finished as I had paid for it if it had been free then I wouldn't of finished it
I did not enjoy this book at all. I feel like a lot happened but there was no detail or depth. Or rather, there was detail, but apart the wrong things, and other things were given one line?! I felt NOTHING for ANY character. Honestly, I DID NOT CARE. Thank god it was only a short book or I doubt I'd even have finished it. I cannot for the life of me understand why it has such a high rating on here. Also, the title? The wedding is really not a big feature here, and the blurb appears to have been written by someone who didn't actually read the book.

A new author for me ( #2 of 24 for 24 ) and it was a quick and sweet little read.
Emily and Dylan are meant to be together, and it's only a matter of time, until Dylan pops The Big Question.
The trouble is, The Big Problem, Emily hates weddings, which is understandable, since Emily was jilted at the alter some years back by Alex, her supposed soul mate.
Emily needs to remember that Dylan is a totally different person to Alex, and he is definitely worth taking a chance on.
But Dylan is definitely going to have his work cut out, if their wedding day is to be remembered for the right reasons.
Just the book for reading on a chilly Winters evening.
A Winter's Wedding is a nice read for the chick-lit fans. Beginning in the harsh winter in London, Emily works for a home and garden type magazine. She loves her work there and is very good friends with her boss, Arabella, who is having big problems in her marriage. Emily has given up on marriage and even dating since her fink of ex-fiance stood her up on her wedding day. She's still paying off her wedding loans almost 2 years later. She still keeps her wedding dress as a reminder of her failure. But then one days she decides to clean out her closets, and that's where she meets Dylan.
Dylan is helping his sister, who works at a type of consignment shop. Emily donates her clothes and other clutters she doesn't need. Dylan is handsome and seems very nice. She gives Dylan a chance, and soon they're dating. Dylan is the perfect boyfriend- loving, understanding and very supportive of Emily. As Emily's relationship with Dylan strengthens, Arabella's falls apart. Her husband leaves her to start a new life with another woman. Arabella tries to get her revenge against her soon to be ex-husband that is both shocking and somewhat funny. While Arabella is having a breakdown over her broken marriage, Emily has to deal with her parents, who always have money problems because her father is addicted to gambling and her mother an alcoholic.
A Winter's Wedding takes place over a year as we see Emily find love again and work her issues out with her parents, who were never there for her. You cheer Emily on as she reevaluates her life with Dylan by her side. Dylan is a true prince of a man. Arabella is a spitfire who brings forth the chuckles.
A cute, and at times endearing novel about love and life and everything in between. The ending is near perfect and brings forth the warm fuzzies.
This book is really enjoyable. It's sweet and packs quite a bit into under 300 pages. There are some serious issues covered in this book. So don't think its all nice and fluffy. It's a quick and fast engrossing read. I found it very hard to put it down while I was reading, and only did so when I had to. The story mostly revolves mostly around Emily and Arabella. While I was very happy with the way Emily's story turned out, I was left feeling as if Arabella's was incomplete. I wonder if Arabella's story is in the cards? This is the first Sharon Owen's book I've read. I will be looking into the other books she has read.
I really did enjoy this book, as I have also enjoyed everything else Sharon Owens has written, coming from Northern Irealnd and a short distance from Belfast, I can relate to a lot of the places mentioned (not so many in this book, though!!) Although a chick lit type of book it did cover some thorny issues for the main characters Emily and Dylan. Mainly Emily's hang-ups from her childhood in Belfast from a very dysfunctional family. Dylan is just the rock she needs and he is more than happy to help, he just loves her unconditionally! This book has a real feel good feeling to it, and is ideal for a quick winter's read, before we all get tucked into our Christmas goodies!!
I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down. If i'm honest i thought the book started off abit slowly but once it got going it turned out to be a great book.
When Emily first meets Dylan i thought that he didn't seem all that keen on Emily and that he was stringing her along, but as the book goes on you begin to understand that he loves Emily very much.
All in all i very much enjoyed the book, it would be nice to know what happens in the end with Dylan and Emily. I would like another book to follow as this one was very good.
