Thanksgiving is here, and while Maddie Graves is thrilled to be sharing the holiday with the love of her life, Nick Winters, she’s also slightly manic about hosting her first big family meal, but that’s cause for family hijinks more than actual worry.

Maddie’s anxiety shifts to a new problem when Detroit Detective Dwight Kincaid – a man Maddie worked with for years as he searched for missing people – shows up on her doorstep. It seems Dwight’s daughter Sage, a freshman at a local college, has gone missing. Dwight needs Maddie’s help to find her.

Nick volunteers his time to help, but he’s terrified Maddie will fall into despair if the search for Sage doesn’t go as planned and Dwight doesn’t get the happy outcome Maddie desperately wants for him. When the trio hits the campus, things turn dark and deadly quickly.

Between an out-of-control fraternity, two friends who seem more like enemies than allies, and a secret about Sage herself that throws Maddie for a loop, the group has a lot on their plates. For his part, Dwight seems resigned to his daughter’s death while Maddie refuses to give up hope and won’t listen to reason when Nick tries to talk her down from a perilous ledge.

As the pieces start falling into place, Maddie realizes something even more nefarious is going on. Will it be too late to save Sage, though? And when a killer sets his sights on Maddie, will she escape and make it to another family holiday?

I enjoyed Dwight Kincaid's character. Although I knew the outcome, I still love the ending. Maddie gets a little more feisty with every book. I wish the author would stop repeating herself. I feel I'm constantly repeating myself with my reviews because of it.

Exceptionally entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series

This is an exceptionally entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Maddie Gray’s is a young woman who has a unique ability to see and speak to ghosts and she also has a bit of sexy ability and great intuition. Her boyfriend Nick is a local police officer in their small town of Blackstone Bay. Maddie runs a magic shop that is in the front of her Victorian style house and lives with her grandmother and her boyfriend. Her grandmother has her own private apartment in the converted garage and Nick and Maddie live upstairs. Maddie seems to find herself involved in some of nicks cases on occasion as the ghost of victims of different crimes sometimes find her and seek resistance. Sometimes that gets her in trouble but she has help as her mother’s ghost is still hanging around until it’s time for her grandmother to pass on. Her mothers ghost has been able to whisper in nicks ear and warn him when she’s in trouble. Once again Maddie’s abilities are needed and this time it’s more about her psychic abilities rather than her seeing ghosts. Read on and find out what adventure awaits and how it turns out.

Grave Disappearance

It's almost Thanksgiving and Maddie is determined to prove just how thankful she is by making the best dinner ever for Maude, Christy and the Winters clan.

A visitor peering into the window as Nick and she doze together wakes Nick and raises alarm bells. Maddie, however, drags the man in and rushes around to make him comfortable. It's Detective Dwight Kincaid and his visit isn't for pleasure.

Sage Kincaid has gone missing from her college in Traverse City and Dwight is desperate for Maddie's help. Trying to have faith, fearing the worst he's promised his wife he won't return home without answers.

Maddie is sure that Sage is still alive and the three of them head over to the college determined to find her and bring her home.

With the Alpha Chi fraternity up to no good, Sage's roommates who are avoiding straight answers and Thanksgiving the next day, they return to Blackstone Bay and return to hear that one of Sage's roommates has been murdered.

Will anyone on campus tell the truth? Is Sage still alive? Can Maddie finally get to the truth without putting herself in the path of a killer?

So its time for Thanksgiving and Maddie has decided to host for her family and nicks. She is going a bit crazy with wanting it to be just perfect, I totally thought Thanksgiving was going to be ruined by a murder but I was wrong... When the detective that she used to work with in detroit comes to her for help to find his missing daughter, Maddie and Nick drop everything to go and help him.
They start looking for her at her college and start to question her roomates and the fraternity where she was dating all the boys.
Turns out all the kids would rather talk to Maddie as she looks young, and well just not like a cop. I think at first its thought that the roomates Heather and Allison had to know something, but when Heather turns up dead. The focus is shifted to the boys at the fraternity, one in particulat who is a big ol tool.
Turns out one of the boys has been kind of telling the truth, but also purposly stearing them in the wrong direction. They don't figure out who the bad guy is till basically the very end, when he kidnaps Maddie, and takes her straight to the girl they have been looking for.

I pretty much love all of Lily Harper Hart's books. I think this is the 4th series I've read of hers, and they are all fabulous fun. The characters are just outstanding - well developed with real personalities and both strengths and flaws.

Maddie is a sweet person. She's sensitive to what others think of her and her friends, and just wants to live her life in peace and happiness with Nick, her best friend since they were 5. Nick is a police officer, and has loved Maddie his whole life. They reconciled when she returned to town, and have officially moved in together.

Episode 8: Maddie is going nuts over Thanksgiving, determined to make it the best ever for Nick. Then Dwight shows up, asking Maddie for her help to find his missing daughter. Of course she has to, so she and Nick drop everything and head off to search the nearby campus. Then the daughter's roommate turns up dead...Will Maddie & Nick figure out who the culprit is in time to save Maddie?

Maddie has a crazy case made personal, and this one is compelling.

A person from her past is missing someone near and dear to them and comes calling for help. Maddie and her detective boyfriend Nick become embroiled in a mess of a missing person case that gets messier and muddier every moment with no leads.

As Maddie and Nick question others hoping for a lead, a college classmate is murdered. Love how the author works through Maddie and her emotions, through her eyes for things to fall together, but as readers, we don’t see it until those last chapters and it flows like water, effortlessly and beautifully into the big finale.

It’s fascinating how the writer can intricately weave in characters so skillfully from earlier novels with such grace! Love this series and others from Ms. Hart.

Dynamic ending and with a powerful reveal of the surprising villain, and an absolutely worthwhile read.

Fab read!!

Its thanksgiving and Maddie has decided to cook for the whole family. An old friend arrives on Maddie's doorstep looking for some help in finding his daughter who has been missing from college for several days. Will they find the daughter alive and well?
Certain truths will be revealed about the college and its students.
Will nick be able to save Maddie when she's caught the eye of a killer yet again?
Maddie is a fan heroine who has slowly but surely come into her own. She trades insults with college students and gets angry at nick. I love her sarcastic remarks. Loving seeing her come out of her shell.
There wasn't a lot of Maude or Christy in this book but what was shown was good.
Eager to read the next installment.

Shallow

This has gone from an interesting mystery series to a series of books about how cute the main character and her boyfriend are. The last few were about people who were so in love with them that they wanted to kill the other partner so that they could have the other for themselves. Now, it's just endless dialogue about how adorable they are together, and the female character seems to lose IQ points with every chapter. Very disappointing as the first couple of books were very good.

A surprising Thanksgiving

We finally get to meet Detective Kincaid, Maddie's police associate in Detroit; too bad he's such a Dismal Dwayne! Of course, he may get a pass since he is seeking Maddie's help in locating his missing daughter, but still... Maddie, Nick, and Dwayne have conflicting stories, outright lies, and a death to grapple with before they can hope to find the missing teenager. The storyline is attention-grabbing, there's a surfeit of false trails to follow, and Maddie is thankfully to busy to obsess over Thanksgiving perfection! I really love this series!

Really enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this book. It has less ghostly presence them prior but still good. Not a lot of the regulars as Nick and Maddie are away from home helping her friend Detective Dwight.
Lots of great dialogue and mystery.

Some off page violence, sexual situations mentioned. No remembered language.
Recommend this book and series by her Amanda M Lee identity.

Enjoyable paranormal series. Finally got to meet Dwight Kincaid, who Maddie worked with in Detroit.
Hopefully we will see more of him and get a follow up on his daughter and her adjustment post the trauma she experienced. Thankfully the mayhem didn't interfere with Maddie cooking Thanksgiving dinner and it went well.

Maddie's past comes back to haunt her in the form of a Detroit detective she worked on cases with when she lived there for 10 years. His daughter is missing and he's desperate for Maddie to use her psychic abilities to find her.
