The deck is beautiful, but the guidebook is trite, self-contradictory, boring, condescending and unwise; written almost totally in the second person (a recipe for mental suffocation), with shallow symbolism and no mystery. Card descriptions give a general idea of the purview of each card using far too many words. Very coddling and unchallenging, full of the sorts of lies a person of weak and uncreative character might tell to a child at a funeral. I'll have to do my own research into the true meanings of these pretty cards and their titles. Do I edit the pages using blank address labels and wite out, or just tuck the book away out of sight and replace it with a notebook of my own? Hmm. What I do know for sure is that I paid $35 for this, so I'll have to make it work somehow.
