The Missing Polygamist is the first story in the English Detective Series. Alexander Davenport, an ex policeman from London is now a private investigator in San Diego and in this story; you will meet his unlikely friends and even more unlikely cases he has to solve in the heat of Southern California. What do a missing polygamist, a stolen famous dog and a millionaire who believes he is being poisoned by his new wife have in common?
Welcome to the surreal world of an English Detective, his bubbly, positive assistant, his Russian drug dealing friend and a beautiful member of the SDPD but is she really a friend or foe?
This is a really good short mystery. Sort of a modern soft hard boiled detective mystery. The characters are well developed and there is a lot of time spent on the actual investigation (it is surprising in some mysteries how little time is actually spent on detecting). But there is even a little time for romance. I was impressed.
Private Investigator Alex Davenport is accustomed to strange and unusual cases. But when he is asked to investigate a stolen dog actor, a missing polygamist and a potential poisoning all in one week, his life takes a turn for the bizarre. A light-hearted novella set in San Diego, The Missing Polygamist is fast-paced with nifty dialogue and a satisfying resolution.
