This was my first book by the author and I was so impressed. My heart was broke for Ash. He had it all, loving family and then it was gone. I did love how we got glimpses of his life with Connie. They had a love we all dream about. Ash is still grieving his loss and just going thru the motions. Sophia makes him change things up. She adds some spice in his life. She makes him want to move on and live his life again. Here's the deal, I loved every character except for Marcy. Marcy was a conniving, vindictive bitch. She was the supportive friend who helped her dying friend out but then something snapped in her.. she was out to ruin lives. Ash had his hands full for awhile. He soon had a decision to make.. leave his family or follow his heart and have love again. I really really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend this to everyone!
"It was crazy and fast. But somehow, it worked. We were a team, completely in love and devoted to each other. The ugliness of our pasts no longer had power over our future. My sins would be judged on my last day on earth, but until then, I intended on making each moment count. Life was for the living, and mine was worth it again."

I absolutely loved this book and am very proud to say its one of my best reads this year. This book is written completely from a male POV which made it very different but was also very intriguing. I mean, who doesn't want to get into a guys head and see what they are thinking?! I loved Ash from the get go. His relationship with his 4 year old son is utterly adorable and its clear that they have a very special and close bond which I love in a male character. Sophia had me rooting for her from the first scene she was in. She is brutally honest, stubborn and doesn't take any crap from anyone. These are all traits I love in a female character. When Ash and Sophia are together, they combust into flames of passion. I am talking the 'need a cold shower' passion! The flashbacks with Connie added an extra dimension to the story and I really felt like I understood why Ash reacted how he did because of this. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I hope in the future I get to read about Danny's story. Another amazing book from Julieanne and I honestly can't wait for more from her.

This was a slightly different style book from Julieanne Lynch and not what I was expecting...in a good way. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars, I would. This author always creates a world you can fall into, characters you can fall in love with and a really great story with the right mixture of excitement, angst and intrigue. In that respect, ASH is easily the same. It's a powerful story of love, loss, heartache and second chances. Ash is a flawed guy -he's not squeaky clean- and that's what's so attractive about him. The story, told from his point of view, tells us of a broken man, a single father, a man with a less than spotless past. He's a firefighter and you expect that he's a tough guy. He wears his tattoos like badges of honour and probably puts women off him just because of the way he looks. In my opinion, it's always best to look beyond the exterior to the heart of the man. And what a heart Ash has. He was a loving husband and father before something no-one should have to go through makes him a mere shell of himself. He's going through the motions and keeping up appearances. But he's merely existing in his life rather than truly living it. He's there without really being there. His son Jake is one of the cutest little kids and the things that come out of his mouth had me giggling at times, but close to tears at others. Trying to piece his life back together through his grief, Ash is good at providing a stable life for his son. He's a great father and there's nothing he wouldn't do for that little boy. This endeared him to me so much. As a single mother, I identify with some of his struggles. This story reeled me in and held my heart captive. The way Julieanne Lynch weaves her spell, I couldn't help but to fall under it. I always expect an amazing story from her and she didn't disappoint. I can honestly say this is probably one of my favourite of her books. She doesn't fail to give you a story to lose yourself in completely.
This was my first book by the author and I was so impressed. This book is about a father that is doing his best to raise his son after the death of his wife. He lost the love of his life and just can't quite move on. My heart was broke for Ash and Jake. I really loved this book and was on the edge of my seat on what was going to happen. Now I must find more books from this author.
This book had me feeling every emotion known to me, happiness, sadness, surprise, "excitement"(in more ways than one ;-) if ya know what I mean ), impending doom/fear, love, hate, jealousy, disgust, joy, anticipation, surprise, pity, ending with respect and hope... I was ready to reach through the pages and knock out miss Dubois. and oh boy oh boy I DESPISED Marcy!! PHEW!!! While Ash is a broken man he is a true man, a mans man. He tries to be strong through it all but you can tell he is cracked. Jake is an amazing little boy (although a few times I wanted to smack him for his tantrums and tell Ash to dad up and tell him no I knew why he didn't) I felt drawn to this book and could not set it down. Although I have never lost my true love to death or what not(whose to say I have ever truly even BEEN in love yet) I could relate to the brokenness of Ash, I could relate to his feelings of guilt and such. My overall rating of this book is WAY over a 5 in a 1-5 scale. I wonder if there will be a second installment seeing as it was left wide open for a another one. but it also ending very nicely with no NEED for another one I would just love to read more about Ash. What an amazing complex character. what an AMAZING book!!!!
I loved the story of Ash and Connie. Bad boy meets good girl. Bad boy becomes good boy, marries and tries to become a father. But fairytale endings don't happen for Ash. He becomes a father, with help from a friend but loses his love not long after. Wading through the waves of grieving while trying to be a single dad is an everyday fight, but family and his Ash's best friend help him along with the burden. Ash's child and job are his everything, but someone is trying to take over his life and Ash is not the person to back into a corner. Then into the mix comes Sophia, with her killer body, French accent and kinky bedroom habits. I'm not sure I like Ash's solution to his problem, but I love that he wants to try to love again.
This book is an emotional page turner. Ash is about a father that is doing his best to raise his son after the death of his wife. He is moving forward by going through the motions but not living his life. When Ash meets a feisty French woman he automatically despise this woman for how she's acting. When he realize he has to work with this woman he is not pleased. When Ash comes to terms with what is going on his his life, he starts to realize that his co worker and him has a dark past that can help heal the both of them.
Ash is a wonderful read. It's heartfelt, warm, and it's always nice to see a story about father who take care of his responsibilities. Plus it's not bad that he's hot with tattoos.

*COPY RECEIVED FOR HONEST REVIEW * Hmm.......I don't know how to start or even review this. It certainly wasn't what i was expecting considering i've read all the other books by this author. As much as i loved Ash, the devoted dad, hero and guy who turned his life around only to be left broken, i really disliked Sophia. Even when she turned out to be a lot nicer than when she first met Ash, the first impression of her lasted with me and i just couldn't grow to like her at all. I really did enjoy the story, enjoyed the twists, flashbacks and whole plot line. Overall it was a really good story but unfortunately i can't get past my dislike of Sophia.
This was really good with alot of psychological drama. This story touches on several issues, such as surrogacy psychosis. The mental illness of people who are already narcacisst by nature. I'm just happy Andres took over the Marcy issue, because she would've destroyed Jake's life. Sophia was a disturbed woman in my opinion. The only sex she was introduced to from virginity was cruel rape and psychological torture. Bring niave immature doesn't make you unworthy of real affection. I'm sure Jakes character was the glue to everybody's existence in the story. Jake's presence put forth every detail in the story in motion. He was the connection!
Love this book. As usual the author writes about topics not usually covered in the tropes associated with contemporary Romance. I love her bravery and her beautiful writing, such depth and feeling in this story. As for the sex (backs arse into the freezer for a cool down.) An easy 5 stars. Want Ash!
Ash is heartbreaking, deep, hot read. Ash is left picking up the pieces of his life after his wife dies. This was at times so sad you could feel Ash's heart braking. Sophia is just the right lady to break through and put Ash back together again. what a strong character.
