Wow. Not at all just a rehash of the Financial Fitness Program (the how-t0) nor the Tools of Money. Another home run financial book that teaches the importance of thinking hard on incorporating that shift in mindset from "stuff" to stewardship.
What is happening to my money? Why can't I get ahead? I found the answers to my questions here. Very informative and as you know, information gives you the ability to respond differently.
This is what I'd call a financial literacy / economic wisdom '101' book
Yet .... it is sorely & absolutely needed.
Why?!
By some historical accounting, financial literacy was nearly entirely removed from the conventional schooling tracks ( esp k-12 ) in the 1910's or a bit sooner.
And college / university track rarely fills this yawning gap either.
Definitely a solid read. May be beyond eye opening for many readers.
My son and I read this book as part of his TJED High reading list. It is a great introduction for a personal financial paradigm shift for most Americans and for those who are starting to earn money and want it to work for them instead of the other way around.
"Misunderstand money an it will make you its slave." The 5 Ss of Money, is part of the Life Financial Fitness Essentials Series and provides answers to questions that some of us have never known we should have.
"The introduction to this book contains a quotation from Marcel Proust, "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes." The gist of this short, easy read, is that we all have views of money we have come to believe and most of those views are hurting us financially.
Starting with some scary Statistics, talking about the Struggle we face with money issues, and following with chapters on the Source, Solution, and Strategies. This book could fix the money problems we share.
A highly recommended starter that may have all the answers you will need.
I was skeptical after the first few chapters, but this book ended strong. It definitely cleared up confusions I had about the You, Inc. investment hierarchy from the Financial Fitness book and gave solid plan for working through the investment hierarchy.
