*** Mace ***

I own an exclusive escort service for high-end girls and high-rollers. I’m having my most profitable year ever. My life is fan-f**king-tastic.

Until the day my smoking hot stepsister, Alyssa, waltzes in for a job and strips off her clothes.

What the hell is she doing here, saying her name is Carly Olson? How the hell could this happen? My situation was perfect until she showed up. Now I'm entirely obsessed with her. Night and day, I can’t get her out of my mind. I want her or no woman at all.

*** Alyssa ***

I’m a hardworking, studious good girl, an honors student at Princeton.

My sexy-as-hell stepbrother, Mace, is an ass. A cocky, skirt-chasing, testosterone driven MMA fighter who makes millions doing things he won't talk about. He walked out of my life on the day of our parents' funeral, and he can just stay out. I definitely don't want to let him back in.

So, when I'm drowning in student debt and about to lose my scholarship, why do I find myself asking for his help? And why am I so willing to follow him into this underworld? My virginity is a valuable commodity and I've given him control of it. I only hope he realizes he wants me for himself, before he auctions my virtue away to a wealthy stranger.

***HEA and no cheating ***

A synopsis of Mace follows. May contain spoilers.

Sweetly seductive Princeton student Alyssa, has always been a good girl... until the death of her wealthy father forces her to confront hard reality. To save her education, Alyssa takes the decision to step into an occasional job as a high class escort. Her money problems seem solved until she discovers her scorching hot boss is also her devilishly handsome stepbrother Mace.

Bad boy Mace is an alpha male and a man of action. An amateur mixed martial arts fighter, building a multi-million dollar business, he satisfies his sexual needs with casual hook-ups that don’t involve love or commitment. When smart and sexy Alyssa waltzes into his office looking for a job, Mace is determined to dissuade her from becoming an escort. He decides to personally take charge of her schooling in the ropes of her new trade. Little does he know, Alyssa is the one about to teach him some needed lessons.

Alyssa is still recovering from her grief over the loss of her billionaire politician father, and knows she should steer clear of her handsome stepbrother, but the the charming bastard offers some enticing benefits. He stirs her erotic and romantic feelings like no other man and she wants more.

Mace is struggling with his own issues: sadness over the loss of his mother and anger toward Alyssa’s father, whom he suspects killed his mother. He trains and fights in mixed martial arts, to help him subdue his inner demons and keep hidden his dead stepfather’s dark secrets. Mace needs to learn forgiveness before he’s ready for a serious relationship.

Mace is set in urban Trenton, NJ, and is full of racy adventure and swift B-movie noir action. The plot is reminiscent of romantic mystery movies and dime store detective thrillers. The story is full of twists, betrayals and suspense. The gambling and poker casinos of Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and the Jersey vacation beaches provide backdrop. Full of fun and humor, the story is seasoned with salty exchanges between the warring sexes. This new adult series is a romantic sexy saga worth reading.

Wow! This book was HOTTTTTTTT! I ran across this book on Pinterest and am so glad I did. I felt like I was on the roller coaster with Alyssa with Mace. One minute he is frustrating, the next sweet, and the next stand-offish. Donovan swept me up and took me on a great ride on page one. The book is as bit predictable but like any good book or movie, I just keep wondering about the next event and move on. I highly recommend this book and love all the characters. Morgan is a force to reckoned with and would love to hear how her weekend went at the end. I would love just one more follow up but am happy with the end. Great story and storytelling.

I never thought I'd say this..but I couldn't finish this book because the content was so beyond twisted that it crossed the boundary into evil for me. I've read some seriously messed up stuff. Studying abnormal psychology for fun in college kind of messed up stuff and I couldn't finish this book. There's just something about incest even if only implied incest that makes me sick. I also didn't like the male character him being a pimp and the way he treated women including his step sister was just twisted and wrong. I couldn't buy him as a loving son when he treats women that way..I just no, that was too unbelievable for me. I found the female character to be weak, needy, and lacking in self-esteem ripe for her step brother to abuse. I'm not saying the book was poorly written just that I myself don't find any reading pleasure in those kinds of situations.

⭐ ⭐ Provided by Author in Exchange for an Honest Review ⭐ ⭐

Judging a Book by it's Cover:
Monochromatic blue-grey scale. Text fonts are legible. Lacks the necessary "pop" to catch and keep the eye. Synopsis was just enough to interest and have me agree to reading it for Ms. Donovan.

Looking Deeper:
Alternating First-Person POVs, clearly defined - easy to follow.

Smoothly written and silky flowing text, it's hard to believe this was written by a #DebutAuthor!
Mace and Alyssa were step-siblings, but had not lived under the same roof very much since Alyssa was shipped off to boarding school and only came home on major holidays and the summer. During the summers, they'd grown closer, but were still made to keep a distance. Over the years, Mace became resentful of Alyssa's "Princess" treatment while he was expected to comply with some dirty work business. After the death of their parents, the only contact they had was the quarterly meeting at the lawyers. Alyssa's string of bad luck brought the two together once again and she was not about to let him go this time.

The characters were very well written and had just the right amount of depth to them to make them interesting and fun without feeling to heavy and complex. Their chemistry was entertaining. Self-doubt, past recriminations, pre-conceived notions and miscommunication got in their way more than once, but they worked through it in believable manners that were age- and situation- appropriate. There was a small number of secondary cast members that helped to fortify any weaker parts. The only time I felt that the writing was "less" was during the sexual content scenes as a climax was approaching, the writing seemed to lose quality at that moment and revert to "co-ed male" mode. (Just my opinion, though). Otherwise, the dialogue and cast interaction was amazingly smooth, natural and believable. The plot flowed so smoothly, I was truly surprised to see that this was written by a Debut Author. There really was no point of major predictability, not even with Dr. P. [trying to avoid any name drops or spoilers]. Morgan's final move was a nice touch.
The ending provides a quick and painless conclusion that is solid and satisfying. Overall, this is a Stepbrother book, but much more. I'd recommend it to friends.

** Note - While the plot does contain elements of the escort business and subsequent views and treatment of prostitution and whores, No explicit sex is detailed.

I enjoyed reading this book, which is the complete series about Mace which was called Pimp when the first book came out. This new indie author is spreading her wings and expanding her library of books she has written.
I like a book about a man swooping in and saving a woman, but in this book, Alyssa is a strong willed woman who thinks she knows where she is going and what she wants to accomplish. Her feeling for Mace, her stepbrother have always been there and strong; she just didn't realize how much she really cared for him.
Mace, has always done his best to look out for Alyssa, as she was younger and more vulnerable.

"Click, click, click- more quick photos. Morgan has me changing in and out of lingerie as quickly as I'm losing my innocence."

"Getting a blowjob from my stepsister might end up screwing with my head for the rest of my life."

"There are feelings I have when I'm with her that I can't ignore."
