The title said techniques for public speaking and presentations and that's what I thought I would get, tips on how to speak publicly but to me it only seemed to go on about using slides ect for presentations. Which whilst is a good thing for those wanting tips on using slides I wanted something to help with the speaking. E.g. remember to breathe, project your voice in a certain way, imagine everyone your talking to is in their underwear so they don't seem as scary like people advise for job interviews. Whilst I do believe the author has a lot of credentials and knows his stuff, I do think it could improve on the speaking side.
A good, quick and insightful read on presentations - particularly in light of technology advancements and new tools. The advice here is spot on - from slide layout to how to use IM. I’ve been doing this a long time and know I have a fair bit to work on after reading this book.
