Navy SEAL Benjamin Raines is on a deep undercover mission and is paired with a sexy CIA operative Kate McKenzie. Together, they must put aside their heated rivalry and mutual attraction in order to stop a deadly U. S. attack. As the threats intensify and fireworks fly between Kate and Benjamin, all hands are on deck to catch the enemy. Will the SEAL six-pack (another term for a SEAL team) stop their evil plot in time or is it too late?

From the first page, I was hooked. Cue shower scene. Benjamin and Kate sizzle and Elle James ratchets up the suspense. I loved the accuracy of the SEAL and CIA operations. It added to the authenticity of the story. I honestly gasped aloud when the enemy was revealed. I never saw it coming. Well done, James! Gripping, suspenseful, romantic edge-of-your-seat thriller ripped from current headlines. A must read!

Favorite Character/Quote:

Kate. She’s a tough woman working in a male-dominant industry so her exterior is as solid as a Tiger tank. Yet, she has a soft side that I adore. An honest-to-goodness real woman, which I love reading, since I am one, too. Benjamin gets under her skin and her reactions were realistic. I want to read more about Kate.

Normally, I'd start off with a plot description, but this book didn't have a plot! I had no idea what the fork was going on! Something to do with various deaths related to various people in a team numbering about 557. Or that's what it felt like. The sheer number of characters running around here, considering the book's length, was insane! There was no need to have that many characters, and it was impossible to keep any of the SEAL team members apart.

On top of the see-through plot, the romance was a bust. Other than some steamy shower sex, there was nothing to indicate that Ben and Kate are destined to fall in love and be together. This is both due to having about 100 secondary characters, and lots of action.

The action scenes are good. But when there's a complete lack of a cohesive plot to tether them to, they have no real meaning or excitement. Plus, everybody is so super good at what they do, there's never any sense of danger that anything will ever happen to them.

To be blunt: this is empty, stupid, inane, and incoherent. For a short book, it was an absolute slog to get through, and I am surprised this hodge-podge of cliches and confusion ever got past an editor and made it to publication!

Excellent conclusion to a series that began with four SEALs on vacation stumbling onto a human trafficking ring, followed by foiling an assassination and discovering a conspiracy of murders. Each book has solved its immediate problem, but the questions have continued to build about who is behind it and why. In this book, our sexy SEALs have joined with the men and women of the Stealth Operations Specialists to figure out the connections among a bunch of diverse murders. Montana has been paired with CIA operative Kate to infiltrate the upper reaches of Washington society while protecting a valuable asset.

I really liked Montana and Kate. Montana is an honest-to-God cowboy, raised on a ranch, with bone-deep cowboy values. He's a hard worker, honest, and a true gentleman in all circumstances. I loved the way he credited his mama for his manners, especially when it would help make his point. Kate is a kick-ass CIA agent who was recently burned when her partner and lover turned out to be a double agent. Because of it, she's wary of trusting Montana right away.

Both Montana and Kate have been picked for this mission because they are good at blending in with those around them. I loved watching the two of them bounce off each other as they work out their balance of power. Montana is naturally protective, but he is also aware of and impressed by Kate's skills. It was fun to watch him fall a little more under her spell with each new talent exposed. I especially enjoyed the scene with the motorcycle. As good as she is at her job, Kate's confidence in her judgment was shaken by what had happened with her partner. I liked the way that Montana's treatment of her restored that confidence. I loved how their feelings become crystal clear in the midst of danger. The ending was pretty sweet as they shared those feelings.

The action and suspense of the story were fantastic. I loved the teamwork of the group as they bent their minds to figure out the connections. When they deciphered the code from the end of the last book, the intensity amped up even further as they went to work to prevent any more murders. The scene at the gala, with Kate impersonating Mila, was a real nail-biter as I waited to see what was going to happen. The fear and confusion at the end of the evening, topped off by the chase, had the team scurrying to make sense of what had happened. As some of the information started to come together, a very scary picture began to emerge. The final confrontation had a couple of twists and turns before it came to a very James Bond-ish ending.

Everything about this book, Navy SEAL Six Pack by Elle James, gives you reader contentment. The author has woven together a story where danger meets tough as nails characters who will stop at nothing when it comes to serving justice. I fell hard for Benjamin. He is an ideal alpha hero. Everything about him is...perfect. He finds his match in headstrong, independent and stunning Kate McKenzie. The air around them spark when they're in the same space. Meanwhile, the angst and the intrigue kept me turning the pages until the end.

Action filled adventure, where six pack of SEALs join the forces with an SOS team to find a killer and rescue the day on several occasions.
Benjamin "Montana" Raines is a charming hero with impeccable manners and a big heart. What a delight it is to find an alpha hero who doesn't fight to fall in love, but fights for his right to protect her stands up for her and sweeps her off her feet.
Kate McKenzie is a wounded heroine, her past relationship left her in tumult, causing her trouble with her career in CIA. She is capable, intelligent, kick-ass agent with a vulnerable heart with no plan to fall for a partner again.
The attraction between them is instantaneous that swiftly turn into physical conjunction. And while Kate tries to convince herself it is just a fling, Montana makes her clear of his intentions.
Suspense is high in the tale, the danger lurking around every corner and even attacking them in their inner court of the headquarters. The action that follows is savage and lethal. No one is safe from peril, not even the joint teams. The twists in the investigation keep everyone on the edge, every attack leading for one more step closer to the main culprit. There is an abundance of characters, even more cues to the person behind a multitude of crimes. The links, the clues, the crimes, criminals, and good guys require the reader to hold the focus on the tale and following sharply with the plot.
Fierce fighting against the grim and cruel crimes, fancy affairs, political connections, kidnapping, explosions, and murder doesn't hitherto Montana losing his heart when the right woman steps into his life.

This has it all!

It is a fast paced suspenseful plot with just the perfect compliment of snark in the hero and heroine. Love seeing the team come together again to stop the insanity of a terrorist plot. I feel you need to read the series together to get a full appreciation for all they have been through but the story can stand alone if you are not someone that wants to know everything about everyone. A great adventure.

This book was great. The story was interesting and built on the previous three books beautifully. Having added two more SEALs to the mix, I hope this isn't the last book in the series. I've really enjoyed all of the books thus far and would love to see the series continue.

I was going to give this book a 5. Lot of action,, love, death, suspense, hate greed. Kate and Ben belong together. But where is the closure, where everyone is. What really happens? We were left hanging on the ledge.

Really 3.5

It has only been one day but I couldn’t tell you much about this. It was okay and it was a romantic suspense. They got together quickly and the action followed soon after and didn’t really stop until the very end.

Benjamin, aka Montana, a Navy SEAL, is a country boy through and through and as such is feeling twitchy being in the city, especially as he isn't wearing any kind of protection nor can he openly carry his weapon, but he's there to meet his new partner. As he's waiting, he notices something that while seemingly suspicious, could also be perfectly innocent. The beautiful woman flying at him telling him to take cover apparently only focuses on the negative aspect.

Kate, a CIA special agent, can't believe this is the SEAL that she'll be paired with on this mission. When her friend and former college roommate, Becca (read Quentin and Becca's story in Navy SEAL to Die For), mentioned a SEAL would be her partner, this sexy man is not at all what she envisioned. Meeting him the way she did wasn't in her plans either. LOL

Although as Montana and Kate make their way to the meeting with Royce and his SOS, Stealth Operations Specialists, team which includes some returning characters from previous books, they quickly learn her suspicions were correct. Kate doesn't know what Becca got her involved in, but Kate is ready to get started and hopefully to redeem herself in the eyes of her employers. But it doesn't take long before Kate is more concerned with keeping those in danger safe as opposed to her career or lack thereof.

Though both feel an immediate attraction, they're each equally determined to not act on it, albeit for different reasons. Montana knows as a SEAL he's hardly ever home therefore making a relationship difficult to maintain. As for Kate, after learning her partner, and lover, was a double agent, no longer trusts her judgment as that situation impacted both her personal and professional lives.

As Montana and Kate begin their mission, they learn some things just can't be denied, such as the connection they feel for one another. Amid the danger due to their assignment, they grow closer and realize that fate has plans for them and though they may try to avoid said plans to protect themselves, they know the feelings between them are not only strengthening each day, they're also rare and worth exploring.

Can Montana and Kate keep each other safe? Will they uncover who is behind the attempts? Is it all connected to prior events? Is their relationship destined to be short-lived? Or are they looking at their future? Is their a HEA for two people who both have dangerous jobs and are away more than they're home?

One-click now and follow along as these two discover that love works in accordance to its own time frame. Please keep in mind that while this book is part of a series, I do feel that they can easily be read as standalones thanks in part to the author sharing enough information so as to keep us informed of previous storylines.

4 1/2 STARS!

With the continuation of Navy SEAL Boat Team 22's foray into trying to solve the human trafficking operation they turned up in Cancun in prior books, Elle James brings us Montana's story. It's a fast paced, full of action story, and we are intrigued as they get closer to finding out who's been behind all of the killing, but I felt the romance was a tad weak. I enjoyed Kate & Montana, but I would have liked to have had more time with them.

When Benjamin Raines AKA Montana, meets his new partner in his work with his SEAL team and some Stealth Operations Specialists team members, he is taken aback. She's gorgeous, feisty and totally competent in her undertaking to bring down the bad guys!

Kate McKenzie has been double-crossed before, so she's not so sure about trusting this team of unknowns she's been set up to work with, but she soon realizes they seem to know what they are doing and buries herself in the mission.

When she and Ben go undercover as a couple, the "for show" intimacy between them becomes all too real and they find themselves falling for each other in the middle of all the chaos. Is there any future there or will it be over in the blink of an eye when they take down the target?

This was another great story from Elle James. I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. We get to pick up where the last one left off. Each one has been a stand alone that has a happy ending for the immediate story but there is an over-arcing problem that they are trying to solve that continues through each story as we get closer and closer to the bad guy. I love the way that this has been done and we get to keep seeing old characters while getting to know new ones better. Montana and Kate are well written and relate-able characters. They have great chemistry and are quickly drawn to each other. The sex is explicit but not very frequent given the circumstances they find themselves in. They are quickly thrust into the action in the DC area as they try and track down who is going to attack and when. There is plenty of action and intrigue in this story to keep your attention the entire time and the chemistry between the characters just adds to it. You will be engaged until the end. This was a fairly quick read for me as I couldn't put it down until I finished it.

A great addition to the SEAL of My Own series.

I always enjoy books by Elle James and Navy SEAL Six Pack, book #4 of the SEAL of My Own series, was a fun and intriguing read. It continues the story begun in book one of the series where SEAL Boat Team 22 discovered a human trafficking operation. Each story in the series has added to the overall plot and mystery. While each book has a conclusion for the main characters the underlying mystery has yet to be fully resolved.

Navy SEAL Benjamin “Montana” Raines is assigned to work with CIA special agent, Kate McKenzie. Both of them are assigned to help the Stealth Operations Specialists group. SOS steps in when the FBI, CIA and Secret Service are unable to act.

Montana and Kate are working as partners and have to pretend to be a married couple as part of their mission. While this is a pretty tried and true romantic suspense trope, Elle James puts her own special twist on it and keeps us guessing throughout the story.

I can’t wait to read the next book in this captivating series.

An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Navy SEAL Six Pack by Elle James is a true page turner. The suspense, the heat between the characters, and the well-written words and descriptions, make this story a clear success!

Montana and Kate are paired up for a covert mission. They both have their own special talents that will aid them in their mission together. Together, they need to go undercover to stop an attack while uncovering some truths! Undercover means they will be spending a very large amount of time together. Time that will be spent being close to each other and might involve pretending to be a couple.

Montana and Kate are both attracted to each other, but Kate’s been burned before by her partner, and Montana is just a country boy who doesn’t think Kate would keep him around for the long run. When lives are in danger, feelings become clear and Kate and Montana find exactly what and who they need.

Overall, this book was a quick read and highly enjoyable. This story is part of a series, but can certainly be read as a standalone.

Elle James never disappoints with her Navy SEAL stories! I loved Benjamin and Kate's story!
Benjamin "Montana" is known for his unshakable work ethic even in the most treacherous situations, but this new case has him partnered with a new partner as well and he's finding it a bit difficult keeping all of his thoughts on this job.
Kate is partnered with Benjamin to protect the United States and also to save a little girl, but Kate is finding it difficult to keep her attraction for him on the down low while they are working together.
As things heat up with their case and they find themselves in more danger, their attraction for one another becomes combustible.

I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

Hey guys, so I finished Navy Seal Six Pack by Elle James, and it was, least I thought it was, supposed to be a full fledged romance novel. But other than just thinking romantic thoughts and one romance scene, the novel was all action. And not really good action and adventure at that. It consisted of a disgraced CIA Agent working with a smoking hot navy seal Benjamin "Montana" Raines on a case where someone's husband was murdered and step daughter abducted. The novel was semi interesting the first half. But it just kinds lost my interest, and I basically skimmed the last 100 pages. *shrugs* sue me. Honestly, I was expecting more from this book.. More of what, I don't quite know, but just more of substance.

Ben Raines is a Navy SEAL and everyone calls him Montana. Kate works for the CIA and is asked to help out with an SOS case. Both Kate and Montana are good at blending in and their skills are needed. If they don't stop the madman, there will be many more killings. They are also trying to find a kidnap victim. As they put their lives in danger, they find a strong attraction. Kate was burned by a former partner and is very leery. Can Montana get past her wall so they have a chance at love?

WOW!! Elle James wrote an outstanding book. This book not only gives you adventure but tons of action. Benjamin (aka Montana) is on hot sexy kickass Seal who is all country. He had me laughing at different times. Kate is one sassy and puts up with no one CIA agent. They made a great team in this book as well as a perfect couple. If your looking for action packed this is the book for you. I highly recommend reading this book.

Honestly....
I liked it but also had no idea what was going on. The romance was the only thing I understood. Nothing else made very much sense because i was confused by who’s who and who we were trying to stop. The shower scene was a nice touch. I just wish that the book was more clear and consistent. Maybe also have more romance with the confession of feelings or the struggle of them. I also wished for more scenes between the couples because everything seemed a bit rushed.

Right away I was in love with Benjamin "Montana" Raines because not only was he a badass Navy SEAL; he was exceptionally polite, had manners and credited his mother for his upbringing. When paired with CIA Agent Kate McKenzie on an assignment, he finds how hard it is for him to keep his personal emotions at bay. I enjoy reading these Navy SEAL stories. The good guys are there to save the day.

Elle always writes a wonderful book that once you start you just don't want to stop. The main thing is that all the ingredient are complete especially sprinkled with romance. I love the twists and how the men and woman are always on the move. Just never a dull moment and that is why Elle hits a home run with her Navy Seals!
