3 1/2 stars. I have always loved PR/Sci-Fi romance so I am always on the lookout for a new author that can fill my need for these books. In this new series we are introduced to a world in the future where earth learns they are not alone. When earth learns they are not alone they begin to work towards the goal of aligning with the Kreossian Empire. Melissa is working for Ambassador Fuller the first and only human to meet the Kreossian's. Now it is finally time to meet with the Kreossian's again and to become a part of the commonwealth.
Melissa has waited for this day and to be picked as the only other human besides Ambassador Fuller, her mentor to meet with the Kreossian Melissa is both excited and also a little afraid that this is all too good to be true. When the day finally comes meeting Kreossian Melissa can't believe her eyes, Admiral Kaalax, who met with Ambassador Fuller all those years ago and Ark are imposing men but it is Ark that captures Melissa's attention.
Ark has no desire to be on this mission in fact it's beneath him as a Kreossian warrior but when Admiral Kaalax order's him he agree's. Ark can only think of getting this mission done and then leaving but when he see's Melissa the little human he quickly realizes his plans have changed. Melissa is Ark's mate. After so many years Ark thought a mate wasn't for him but Ark finds himself still wondering if he can have a mate when he is a warrior.
When the unthinkable happens Ark is convinced that earth is to blame and has every intention of destroying it as soon as he can. But as Melissa and Ark spend more time together Ark begins to realize that his priorities have changed since he met Melissa and maybe earth isn't what he thought it was. Melissa can't believe the turn all their lives have taken. But through it all the more time she spends whith Ark the more she begins to fall in love. Soon Ark and Melissa's realize their journey won't be easy and surprises are on the horizon for both Melissa and Ark.
I really enjoyed this world Lucy Snow created, in this future so much has changed and I wished we had gotten a little more info because it was so new and interesting. I will say that earth seemed a little too great for me. After everything earth has been through I don't know that I believe they would have worked so well together and trusted the aliens so easily with the info they were given. I don't know maybe I'm to cynical. I really liked the concept of the Kreossian, at first you think they are the same as many aliens we have been introduced to in other books but we quickly see they aren't and there is a lot more than meets they eye.
I really liked Melissa and Ark. Ark is a strong huge warrior, and even though he knows about mates when he finally meets his he is thrown for a loop. I think Melissa was just what Ark needed. She added life to his existence, before Melissa all Ark cared about was fighting for his planet and people and meeting Melissa he realizes there's more to a person and the love he has for her shows him how precious love is. Melissa is funny and caring and all in when it comes to Ark. Melissa would rather die by Ark's side than safely sit on the sidelines and be away from him.
I would have loved more info into the mating. At times it sounded like when you found your mate you were with them, almost like a marriage. Then at times it sounded like a tradition mate, so I would have loved to see more about their idea of mates so we could have understood it fully. We are introduces to a lot in this book and I really would like to see what happens next in this world.
There are some minor errors in this book but nothing huge, and nothing that took you out of the book. I'm not sure who book two will be about but there is so much left that I can't wait to see who book two will be about and what will happen. This book is finished and you get a nice hea(though you know I would have loved an epilogue, and yes I know I sound like a broken record). I think seeing where this future will lead in this new series will be very interesting and I'm excited to see what happens in the future and I think this will create a nice new series.
This is my first read of author Lucy Snow. The scifi part of this story was done very well. It's tricky to write about things that we have no reference too and if it's not written well, then it's hard for the reader to grasp. I had no issues picturing the Kreossian man and the world and creatures the author described in this story. She was also able to make Ark an alien that we can still think of as attractive by human standards. As a scifi, this story was really good. As a romance novel, I felt it a little lacking in passion. This is probably more because of my personal preference in romance novels. I had a hard time believing Ark felt much towards his life mate. He kept talking about taking her back to earth while he goes back to war and researching the new planet they found. That doesn't speak passion to me. In the beginning before they met, he was thinking how he was ready to find his mate but when he recognizes her at first sight, there is no reaction. He treats her as if she was just another stranger. Personally I like to see the Hero that can't be away from the heroine and expresses it physically and emotionally. Ark was just too robotic. He is a warrior so I can understand him bring less emotional but he just didn't really express much at all. I still enjoyed this story as a scifi read.
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.
First of all, humanity is not going to give up war and hatred JUST because of aliens. In fact, it may even make it worse. Maybe if I had read this at another time I wouldn't feel like this (the week Trump gets elected and the world dies), who knows.
Secondly, when you are the second human to make contact, isn't there anything more you could ask than questions about love?

The exchanges between Ark and Melissa were very awkward in the beginning. In fact, the whole book was awkward really.
Also, if humans aren't really in space, why did they find one so far from home? Ugh.
I didn't enjoy it at all, and that's a shame because I usually like this stuff.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
I found this book hard to get into. The beginning didn't really grab me which I think then effected my reading of the rest of the book. The story didn't keep my interest. With that being said though, there was nothing wrong with either the story or the writing.
I'm sorry to say this book is really badly written, a good example of the reasons why having a story to tell (or dream about) don't equate being a writer.
Flat, un interesting, boring, cliché and at times cringe worthy (the smexy times) there's no saving grace for this novella.
DNF at 20% Just some quotes to illustrate why this wasn't for me (besides the absolutely silly heroine):
Heroine, who accompanies the Earth ambassador to the most important meeting in all human history: "Of course I wanted a family. Working with Fuller all this time over the last few years had been wonderful, but it wasn't the same as having a special man in my life." First of all, she sounds like 16, so "the last few years" had me scratching my head, and her general demeanor has me doubting Fuller's sanity for choosing a "I want me some romance" silly clutz as his attendent. Major FACEPALM.
The hero, who likes to kill things. Talking or interacting - not so much; killing, yeah! - tall, muscular, alpha: "I remembered venting to Kaalax in private, railing against the shame at being assigned to escort him to a "conference". The very world sounds like something babies would play at, not fit for real men, real warriors."
Of course insta-lust on the heroine's side as soon as she sees his muscular warrior's body, she nearly loses her professional cool (AHEM).
Their dialogue is so cringeworthy, I simply couldn't go on. "Tell me about yourself, Ark." Ark stopped eating long enough to stare me down. "I am a warrior."
Oh, but he has a sweet and romantic side too! He has a little monologue about how passionate his race is about love, while shoveling food supplements down his gullet. And her reaction: I blushed, and quickly looked down to try and hide my face just as I noticed Ark's eyebrows raise in question. "Tell me about how your species loves, Ark. You make it sound so all-encompassing."
I even cringe inside writing that down. That has to be the worst come-on line in all history, alien or human. I can hear bad 70ies shag music in the background, groovy!
Then our precious heroine does a little slut-shaming with saying that humanity's way of love is basically crap with only serial affairs and one-night-stands and such awful things instead of sticking with their choices, because it has become "so easy to jump between relationships" (the 50ies called, they want their sexual morals back...)
I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the series. I do however hope Melissa winds up listening to her mate more. She will get herself killed very soon if not. I understand that she is strong and independent, but she is making really stupid decisions above it her own safety and that of her mate's.
This was a rough one to get all the way through. The plot was bad, scenes so bad I thought the author was trying for campy. But it wasn't intentional it was just poorly done. Attempts at humor were in a few sci fi references and the characters trying to overcome cultural barriers. It didn't work. The H is the warrior and logic type meets the h who is all jokes and always scared. H was not endearing or sexy or alpha or anything. h was scared and more scared and reacted oddly to H in what I think was supposed to be funny dialogue and interaction. You can overlook any grammar errors as you start to wonder if the author was drinking while writing this. Just getting wasted as you get past the halfway point. Favorite quote: "It was hot, what we were doing." This was an entire paragraph by itself. Which brings us to the erotica side. So bad writing, plot and characters can be overlooked if you get the erotic out of your erotica. Well you don't. Very bad. Very, very bad. It was not hot, what they were doing. And to wrap up it was too long. Most reviews in this genre complain about the short length but this could have been cut down to a quarter of size. So much extra narration about nothing. Just kept writing until she contradicted herself a hundred times. But she earned an extra star because I finished it. I consider that an accomplishment for the author and myself.
I have no idea what all the great reviews are about, honestly. The writing was incredibly awkward and stiff. Each mundane task the character did had to be included, making the story seem to drag. There was an information dump in the form of Melissa ruminating on all the cultural changes time since first contact and the state of current technology. This came across as very artificial for a first person POV. The word choices and cadence of the sentences seemed very simplistic. The number of errors, especially pronouns was really jarring. Once you got into the personalities of the main characters they came across as plastic. Ark, for a mighty warrior, seemed incompetent in the beginning as he was late for a meeting with his superior, showed up in the wrong place, is derided by a lesser officer, and is then beaten in battle by an old man. Melissa is someone who has trained for years to be a diplomatic assistant, but she busies herself laying out her superior's robes and tidying his room. I tried to push ahead, thinking the story would get off the ground once the exciting parts started and the romance was underway, but gave up a short way in. Given the poor quality of the book, I don't see myself exploring any of Snow's other work.
Sadly I couldn't suspend disbelief enough once they set off to find a power source. I had issues before but that was the final straw. Idea was intriguing and dragons are my weakness.
I was so enjoying the first-contact aspect of this story and then it went pear shaped in the romance aspect. The Sci-fi aspect began pretty good and I liked Dr. Fuller and even Kaalax. But Ark and his Empire worship was a bit much. Further he never seemed to be attracted to Melissa, didn't acknowledge or even talk to her and she only seemed to notice his hot body. I don't see that as romance and I really did not get the attraction for them to be mates. Even their "ahem" bonding scenes left me cold. It just felt like it was something they were forced to do.
Then there were the super convenient things that just happened. How they landed in just the right place, this couple that was basically THEM showed up to help when they needed it and then disappear and how the planet just became the most important thing in the upcoming war. Hmmm?
Don't get me started on how Ark was a two-faced idiot. He wanted to annihilate earth because he was sure they were responsible for the explosion but when he was confronted with the being responsible he let him go with a cherry wave. Nuh huh!I
This book just did not do it for me!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I read some of the negative reviews and, although I agree about editing being needed, especially when the wrong pronouns were used, I really liked the book! The story line was great, there was suspense, and it moved along at a good pace. I think the characters were well developed and I enjoyed their interaction with each other, especially the Admiral and Ark and Fuller and Melissa. I think Ark and Melissa were good together.
Anyway, I would be comfortable recommending this book. I liked it and was hoping there was a Book 2 to read. Dragon shifters are a favorite of mine, although his humanoid form seemed more than adequate for handling any task that came along! This was a good book and I hope more will be coming our way.
Generally I liked it! I read this thru KU. Interesting characters, heavy romance, mysterious saboteurs, and a mystery planet. Very creative. I only have 2 problems with this book - (1) the editing was sloppy as there were many missing, or correctly spelled but wrong words; and, (2) while it is a stand-alone with a HEA it pushes the line because of so many loose ends. Hopefully there will be more books to address those.
Great read with even better characters. Ark was a powerful warrior who developed compassion and humour throughout the story. I liked Melissa's character most though as she was so resilient and accepting. Would have liked more at the end.
I had troubles with the main characters reactions to life threatening situations, as well as representing Earth to a new species and all she could focus on how how attractive the male was. Storyline was fine just label this as smut and don't expect a strong plotline or any deep thinking.
ARC was given in exchange for an honest review. So, my review might not be popular. I read and review hundreds of books a year so I look for a lot of different things when I read them. New author for me. This is the first sci-fi romance she’s written. Good first! I DID like it as a whole. Just a few things stood out for me both good and bad.
Not Great: There were editing mistakes which I had to reread sentences to make sure I read it right. So, yes that is a problem when the errors are a distraction. Character development was a little lacking. For example, we don’t know a whole lot about the Kreossian people besides a couple things that are mentioned. We don’t get to know Ark that well as a person he seemed a little too closed off but that is forgivable because he is a warrior and that’s just how they are. Everything was focused on the story itself and not characters. Melissa’s character we don’t know anything of her history other than she worked for the Ambassador for a few years. We don’t know her hair color or eye color. We know exactly what Ark looks like but not Melissa. We know her body type but that’s all. I wanted more of a connection during their love scenes. They felt more of a “going at it” than anything else. Not as detailed. It was clothes off, kissing, put it in, and done. Sorry…that’s how it seemed.
Great: Excellent world building. A VERY good job. The pace was steady which is not a bad thing. I did like Ark and Melissa’s banter I think honestly that was my favorite part other than her world building. They had some really sweet moments.
It’s a good story I just think some things need to be worked on character wise a little more. Editing getting fixed would be good too. Although her world building was excellent it did outshine the characters. One trait I didn’t like about Ark is he was really insulting to Melissa and humans making her feel less than. I expect that at first until he learns more about them, but he continues to be a little insulting through the whole book. I understand we can’t like everything about characters. I think the only time he ever realized he was being a douche is when she was sad at losing her mentor, the Ambassador. That wasn’t until a good while later though. I felt Melissa was too agreeable and sorta went with everything too easily. She questioned things but didn’t really disagree on anything. I will read what she does next in the series. I really don’t want the author to think of this as a bad review. Its not. :) A lot will enjoy the book. A few have already. Just my perspective.
I absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful entertaining scifi alien romance. This story covers Melissa Crane, (a personal aide) who is on a spaceship making it way to the space station with Ambassador Fuller to meet the Kreossians, who unbeknown to the humans are alien dragon shifters. Ark, a Kreossian is a feared warrior is on his way to the space station with Admiral Kaalax to meet with the humans. Ark is lonely and wants to find a mate, the one woman for whom he has waited to have the ultimate bond with. On arrival by the space station he meets Melissa and realizes that this human female is his mate for the rest of his life. Now the story really gets interesting. What you will find in this story is, intrigue, drama, suspense, action, sabotage, explosions, mission of diplomacy and exploration, aliens, meetings, nervousness, curiosity, arrival at space station, Kreossians that conquer other races for love and mates, no mate, lonely, feelings of wasted warrior talent, babysitting diplomatic mission, training fight, commonwealth, meeting on space station, noticing each other, two leaders speaking as old friends, eating together, questions and answers, sarcasm, Ark realizing Melissa is his mate, denial, explosion, Ambassador Fuller dead, escape, spacecraft damaged, crash landing on unknown planet, mate can be irritating, death of Admiral Kaalax, burial, aircraft repairing self, a creature screaming, looking for creature, hearing screaming, protect mate, changing form, killing creature, kissing and finally mating, scanning for energy source, hiking towards energy source, wolves, discovering another Kreossian with a human mate, a diversion, taking some of energy source, back at spacecraft, attack by king-wolf, battle with king-wolf, escaping on spacecraft, Mazon battle spaceship, tractor beam, Khad (a Mazon) boarding spacecraft and admitting to sabotage of space station, battle, Kreossian fleet arrival, Mazon and Khad retreat, back on board Kreossian battle spaceship, emotional feelings and some hot erotic scenes. The plot is well thought out and written with a intriguing and entertaining story-line. The characters are well developed with emotion feelings of doubt, lust, needs and desires, suited to the situations they find themselves in. I would recommend this book to people that like to read alien books that are different and interesting with a HEA.
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first read of author Lucy Snow. The scifi part of this story was done very well. It's tricky to write about things that we have no reference too and if it's not written well, then it's hard for the reader to grasp. Also, the use of water on Ark's ship seemed out of sorts when he goes on about being as advanced as his race is. I didn't like how he kept putting down then human race to Melissa. It was the same as putting Melissa down and saying she is beneath him just because of the species she is. He doesn't really compliment her or accept her, he just accepts that she is his mate, but doesn't really accept him.
So, the romance part of this was lacking. I got the impression that Ark didn't really care for his mate. He drones on and on about wanting his mate and when he finds her he acts like she's nothing but another woman. At one point he seems adamant about her being his mate, then says nothing about it, then is like "you're the only one for me" and it was a lot of back and forth. Then he was all "I'll never leave you. but I'm going to return you to earth even though it may be destroyed by my people". Not much passion overall. She was a little strange at times. I liked her little flirting with him and her sarcasm, but when she would freak out over the smallest things at times she came across whiny. Also, during the sex scenes I don't like it when authors use the words pussy and cock in their writing. It does nothing and is actually kind of a turnoff when reading them, as soon as I read those words I stop reading that scene and skip all other sex scene in the book.
The writing, for me, didn't seem to fit a scifi story, but more of a past time book set in 1800's at times. There were also miss spellings and lowercase "I's" in the story along with writing forms changed. When Melissa is yelling/exclaiming something I didn't like that the author would use CAPS LOCK ON IT! it doesn't add anything to the story line or the intensity of the words being said. Lastly, everything was a new paragraph, three sentences and a new paragraph would begin. It's overkill when three of those paragraphs could have been combined into one paragraph. Also, spelling out numbers, numbers are always written out in novels/books.
Overall, it wasn't bad, but it needs some work. 3.0 stars.
This was an interesting read. I enjoyed the story. Melissa and Ark are good characters and they have an interesting adventure. Melissa is traveling in space to meet up with the aliens for the first time after first contact. It's interesting because they were given some things to do and told when they were ready to build a space ship and space station and they would meet up again. That time has finally come but there is a lot of speculation about what the aliens want and how this is all going to work out. Melissa's boss has no such worries and is very excited to get this meeting going. Ark is second in command and usually on the battle field. He is not super happy to be in on this negotiation and diplomatic meeting but he has some lessons to learn. Ark realizes quickly that Melissa is his mate but he's struggling with what to do about it. She's human and he's just used to battles. Things change quickly though when the space station is blown up and both of their bosses are gravely injured and one's dead. They are then caught in a secondary blast and crash land on what they think is an uninhabited planet. This is where the real adventure begins, along with their relationship. There's action, intrigue, and explicit sex. There's plenty going on in this story to grab your attention and keep it until the end. It was a fairly quick read for me, not that it's short though. It just had my attention and I read it in one go. This is the first in a new series and I'm excited to see where the rest of the series goes. I liked the characters and the way the story was written. There's some twists and turns so you don't exactly know what is going to happen next. I enjoyed the characters and the story and hope that we get to see them again in the next one. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The plot was good. I was really disappointed in the heroine. She was really pathetic in any emergency when a strong character overcome fears and grow. I seen no reason why Ark would be interested or happy with her.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Ark is an alien Dragon Shifter. A Kreossian warrior. A deadly fierce warrior. One of the deadliest in his empire. Commander Ark is second in command to Admiral Kaalax, a mighty warrior in his own right, of the Kreoss Empire. That's not all he is though; he has been waiting for his mate, the one woman to make his own. Melissa is the human assistant to the Ambassador and they are on a mission from Earth to meet with the Kreossians. This mission is both diplomatic as well as one of exploration. Since their first meeting with the Kreossians, the Earth has definitely become a better place. Unity has prevailed along with peace. The meeting being held is to advance relations between the two and possibly have Earth join The Commonwealth. Upon Ark's and Melissa's first meeting, Ark realizes that she belongs to him....his mate, to protect for the rest of his life. And protect he does. If they can make it though explosions and shuttles without power, they should be able to make it through just about anything. They should, right? Despite their obvious attraction to one another, how could a human and a Kreossian be mates? Ark is definitely attracted to Melissa, and she is obviously interested as well, but Ark is not about to act on impulse. Tragic circumstances bring them closer together, but the cause of those circumstances just might tear them apart. Wow, I was really impressed with this book! I never read science fiction. Never. I loved Lucy's other books, so I gave it a try. I'm glad I did. FULL OF LOTS OF ACTION AND LOTS OF ALIEN ON HUMAN SEX ! VERY INTERESTING CHARACTERS AND AN INTERESTING STORYLINE ! This was BOOK ONE in THE DRAGON EMPIRE SERIES, I AM PATIENTLY WAITING FOR BOOK TWO !
So in this book you've got Melissa and Ark as the main characters. Melissa is the personal assistant to Ambassador Fuller of Earth, and Ark is second in command to Admiral Kaalax of Kreoss. Fifty years ago Kaalax met Fuller for the first time and imparted his wisdom of technology to Fuller. As a result, Earth and it's people set aside their differences to achieve a common goal. Now there are no longer wars or people judging others based on all the differences they have--they have finally united themselves as the human race. Wouldn't that be nice? So now these four characters are having a meeting in space so that Earth can join with the Kreossian empire and take advantage of their advanced technology and protection. But then something goes wrong....
While I liked the idea of this book--two different "people" coming together possibly forever--there just wasn't really that wow factor. I liked how Melissa and Ark interacted with each other, especially when she was trying to joke around with him, and he not understanding. There was definitely suspense throughout the book with the attack on the space station and then Melissa and Ark trying to survive on an unknown planet while also trying to figure out how to get off that planet. Their sex scenes together weren't would I would call "I need a cold glass of water" steamy, so that might be good for those that can't handle descriptive sex scenes. There were issues with the editing in the advanced copy, so hopefully that was taken care of for the released version. I liked the book overall, but it just didn't wow me. I'm going to read Lucy's sports romances to see how those go.
**I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
This is the story of a fearsome, powerful, yet lonely alien warlord named Ark. While travelling with his mentor, Admiral Kaalax to meet the representatives of the human race, he begins to truly understand the lessons that were imparted to him in the beginning of the story. Heading to a newly constructed space station that his race gave the humans blueprints to build during their first contact 50 years prior, Ark thinks very little of the human race and does little to hide the fact. He views them as nothing more than weak children with nothing to contribute to the Commonwealth. However, he slowly comes to think differently of humans after encountering Melissa—the person he instantly recognizes as his mate and the missing piece that would make all of his war glories mean something. She’s the personal assistant of Ambassador Fuller, the human that Ark’s race reached out to during their first contact. When they meet up, the Admiral and the Ambassador are very happy to see each after such a long time and go off to bond while leaving Ark and Melissa to get to know each other. However, not long after meeting, the space station starts exploding, the ambassador is killed, and the admiral badly injured. Ark and Melissa are forced to abandon the station and eventually find themselves on dense jungle planet where his mentor dies and they aren’t as alone as they initially thought. This story has the makings of a very engrossing serial. It isn’t overly violent or sexual and has happy, sad, funny, and surprising parts that come together to make for a very entertaining saga; and while I got this story in exchange for an honest review, I would definitely pay for the next story just to see what happens!
Great start to this series, can't wait to see what the next adventure will be. Two different species one from space, very tall and bodies people with glowing tattoos or body glyphs, can change form, they been one earth under disguise and myths were created about them. Their other form is the Dragon, from oriental myths. They been on earth for many centuries as spies form the mother/planet. 50 years ago the Admiral visited earth and left instructions for a space station and a ship to be built for a meeting for 50 years later. That time has come and now the Admiral and his second are to meet up with the Ambassador of Earth join the station. The Ambassador and his assistant will be the two lucky people to travel to space and meet the aliens, Melissa has work for this but was surprised to be picked for the mission. When she meets the alien men she's floored by their appearance and falls fast for the second in command, Ark, warlord in his own right. She tries flirting with him but she doesn't really know what to make of it. Ark knew Melissa was to be is mate the one is all space that is met to be his one and only. He will fight a bit at first but will give in to temptation. Until his enemies sabotaged the meeting and killed the important people. Crashed onto a inhabited planet Melissa and Ark will need each other to survive until they can get off the planet and back for his fleet. What the planet has to offer is not for the faintest person, big beasts, blue and yellow foilage, intelligence ghost wolves that Dance! It is a great story that will bring you right in from the beginning.
3 stars for the story 2ish for the Romance, or lack thereof
While I liked the book in general I have a couple of issues with it that keep me from Lovin' it: Melissa: her character is flat. I have no idea why she was included in a mission of this importance. The whole world, the entirety of Earth, has been working toward this meeting for 50 years and she gets picked for this mission as the second person to meet the aliens because of what.... she volunteerd? She can't have been the only one to do that! And she has no qualifications for it that I can see. The whole reading of the book I kept thinking "there must be something she's extremely good at, when are we going to see it?" But she's basically the stereotypical helpless female, except for a few times when she suddenly grows a spine.
Ark's reaction in the end whats up with that?
Melissa's reaction in the end
Other than that is was a nice book :D I really liked the description of the alien-elements/men. I do after all have a very large weakpoint for Dragon(men). And I am actually curious how the story will progress.
This was a nice mix of shifter and science fiction. I have not read a lot of science fiction but I liked this and am looking forward to reading more in this series. I am very intrigued about some of the other characters we met in this story and how it will all work out. I like the mix of human and alien that brings different viewpoints in how things are looked at. Good story. Ark is a warrior that is very upset that he has been chosen for a "diplomatic " mission. This is just a waste of his skills as far as he is concerned. He should be someplace fighting for his empire not going to this meeting with the humans. If not for the respect he has for his Commander he would not have come. He hopes it doesn't last long and he can get back to where he needs to be. Melissa is the assistant for the ambassador of the humans at the meeting with the Kessorians. She has never met an alien before and is a little worried about what is going to happen. The ambassador had been at the first meeting and he seems very excited about seeing them again. Melissa doesn't have much information about what the Kressorians are like and she is hoping for the best. At the meeting things are going good until the explosion.
