Sterling Canyon #3

Unexpectedly Hers

Rate this book
By day, bashful wallflower Emma Duffy works at her family’s bed-and-breakfast. By night, she secretly pens erotic romance hot enough to melt the snow in their cozy Rockies town.

But Emma’s real life is about to heat up when her mother books the entire inn to a professional snowboarder, hoping the publicity will put them on the map. In a karmic twist of fate, that guest is Wyatt Lawson, the man with whom Emma had shared the secret one-night stand that became the inspiration for her novel and its dreamy hero. Worse, a film crew is documenting his comeback just as her debut is about to hit the shelves. Emma’s only saving grace is that Wyatt doesn’t remember her—and hopefully he never will.

When Wyatt arrives in Sterling Canyon for several weeks of intense training, the last tumble he expects to take is falling for a girl, especially one as shy as Emma. Unlike groupies with their hidden agendas, she isn’t using him—or so he believes…until the film crew uncovers Emma’s pen name and steamy novel.

Wyatt’s comeback run can withstand a fall or two, but can his heart recover from this crash and burn?

3 Unexpectedly bland stars

Some Spoilers

I love Jamie Beck and I loved the first two books in this series, giving both those books 5 star ratings, but this one just didn't do it for me. I really liked Emma in the other 2 books and I was looking forward to her book, but I just didn't care for her in this one. The biggest problem I had with Emma was the way she was with her mother. Emma is a 31 year old woman and in this book she acts like a child afraid of getting in trouble with mommy. It drove me crazy. Her childish behavior threw her whole character off for me and I didn't connect to her. This quote totally summed it up for me.

"If this gets back to my mother..." Emma stopped herself, realizing that, at thirty-one, she sounded pathetic to be worried about her mother's opinion.

 photo mom5_zps78mwq4h8.gif

And can I just say that I really really didn't like Emma's very bitter, selfish and judgmental mother. I would have loved for Emma to stand up to her and grow up but instead the whole book Emma was like the naughty child hiding things from mommy so she wouldn't get grounded. I mean my god her mom calls her and chastises her 31 year old daughter for kissing a guy. Kissing a guy, 31 years old I mean come on! Even at the end of the book she still lived with mommy and was still trying to please her mom by using her own money to fix her mom's Inn.

 photo tumblr_mla4n8Zn9U1r8s5bto1_400_zpspd3cors9.gif

Wyatt was okay for me but he didn't really stand out. It really bothered me that Wyatt and Emma had a one night stand years ago and he never remembered her. Talk about a blow to the pride. Now Wyatt's brother Ryder I loved him. He had depth and I would have loved to see Emma with him! Truly I would read Ryder's book in a New York minute. I really connected to him, totally got invested and I want more Ryder!

 photo Hes-Amazing-Aubrey-Plaza-In-Parks-Recreation-Gif_zps1nblhoy5.gif

Now because I never connected to Emma I never got invested in her and Wyatt's relationship. I didn't feel any chemistry between them. That colored my whole outlook on the book. So the whole read for me was kinda bland. I did really enjoy the parts with Ryder but other than that it was just an okay read for me. I didn't even like the ending. The HEA was just kinda whatevs. I still love Jamie Beck and I will still read her books, but this one was a miss for me.

ARC requested through Netgalley, and kindly provided by Montlake Romance in exchange for an honest review.

I have read the first two books in this series and was very excited to get to read Unexpectedly Hers. After I got over the shock (and bit of disappointment) of the hero not being who I was expecting/hoping it would be, I settled in to read more about the shy and quiet Emma Duffy. I wavered back and forth between enjoying the story and struggling with some of the things that happened.

Emma helped her mother run the bed and breakfast, The Weenuche, in Sterling Canyon by day and, by night, she donned the pen name Alexa Aspen while writing romance novels. Emma’s writing was in secret because her mother would not approve.

“It’s lovely to know I can count on you, perfect girl. You always make me proud.”

As Emma’s mother left for a trip, Wyatt Lawson, along with his brother, Ryder, and a film documentary crew, rented the inn to film a comeback for Wyatt’s snowboarding career. And the twist? In a completely rare moment, three years earlier, Emma had an anonymous one night stand with Wyatt. Emma was shocked to see Wyatt at her inn, but Wyatt did not remember her.

As their “romance”, which at first was really just about attraction, began, I had a hard time getting past the fact that Wyatt had zero memory of her. It really put a damper on any connection they were building. I don’t know if I could be with someone that was with so many people that they didn’t remember their faces or what they were like in bed, including myself.

I really related to Wyatt in this story and felt a lot of compassion for him. He was harbouring a lot of guilt over an accident that had permanently changed and damaged his brother, Ryder. It didn’t help that his mother, quite openly, blamed Wyatt for the accident, despite it not being his fault at all. I felt for him each time he tried, and failed, to make things better for Ryder. It was truly Emma, in her annoyingly interfering way, that helped the two finally communicate and work towards healing their relationship.

Ultimately, aside from Wyatt not remembering Emma throughout the story, I also struggled with Emma, who was 31, still being treated by her mother like a teenager, to the point where Emma felt like she couldn’t date or reveal her love for writing. I felt so bad her, being caged in by her her mother’s tainted opinion on men. It also broke my heart that it caused Emma to not have a real relationship with her father.

“What did it feel like to be so independent and free? To take off on a whim and meet up with a lover, or travel, or do anything unexpected? A swell of resentment toward Emma’s mother surfaced, followed by guilt. Her moralistic mother had only ever loved her and sought to protect her from pain.”

Without giving away any spoilers, when the “truth” about Emma came out, I was seriously angry with how the chips fell and with who felt they had the right to feel anger and hurt. I also felt a little bit of whiplash at how quickly and without any real chance for amends or explanation of how the heroine and hero’s points of view on where their lives were heading had changed, the story resolved itself with a happily ever after.

As usual, though, Jamie Beck’s writing was wonderful and her stories were rich with, not only romance, but well written characters I loved to get to know. Though I didn’t love the story, I did really like it.

Unexpectedly Hers is clean, vanila romance. I was hoping something more, but sadly left with disappointment.
Not hating it, but not liking it very much either.

Miss Beck is talented writer. Her books, which I read a lot lately, proofs that. The idea of the story is recyled. I was expecting much more from this book.

Overall, OK book.

Kitty's review:

I am a little bit up in the air about Unexpectedly Hers. It took a little bit of time for me to become invested in the story. I wasn’t sure about either of the characters or what their end-game would be. In the end, everything fell into place but, it took a while to get there.

Let me start with both Wyatt and Emma’s mothers. Neither one of them warmed my heart the way a mother is supposed to. Wyatt’s mother blamed him for all that went wrong in her life. Emma’s was just an uptight, controlling, bitter person. They both made them into people who couldn’t trust and made them both feel like they had something to prove and feel bad for. Wyatt felt nothing but guilt over his brother’s accident and Emma constantly felt like she was lacking and couldn’t trust men.

Wyatt’s brother Ryder was the high point in this story. Jamie Beck did a wonderful job of bringing his story of life after a major accident and TBI to life. I honestly felt like I knew him and his struggles better than the main characters and totally fell in love with him. He was actually the driving force behind Wyatt finally letting up on his guilt-trip.

Wyatt was a whirl-wind. Kind, sexy and sweet at times. Bitter, guilty and frustrating at others. He’s a wham-bam-thank you ma’am kind of guy but he’s drawn to Emma. He’s training and can’t get distracted by a woman but there is something about her that has him trying to spend time with her and getting her to like him. He has no idea why she gives him the cold shoulder or doesn’t treat him as she does the others. When he finally breaks through the ice, he finds exactly what he thought he would – a fiery, passionate woman that wants to give up control. Until he finds out the truth and can’t get away from her fast enough.

Emma is living the life her mother wants her to have. Safe, solid and free of men. But, she’s torn. She’s tired of being the “nice” person. The one everyone can depend on. Is her legacy really heading in the direction of her mom’s … running the B & B and living a solitary life? She’s taken some chances, she’s trying to break free but she can’t with her mother’s constant disapproval. When the truth of what she is doing comes out, her friend’s stand beside her, her mother is a bible-beating shrew and Wyatt runs away. Now what?

Trip and Kelsey, Grey and Avery are back from the first two Sterling Canyon books and I loved catching up with them. Trip was a trip in this story and the reason for them finally giving in. And, Mari … she was just a bitch. I felt like she was out for herself and didn’t give a damn who she walked over to reach her goals. I wish that Jamie Beck went a little further with Emma’s father. He was a side-note in the story and was skimmed over. It would have been nice to know his side and why things happened with him. In fact, I don’t think she even put a name to him.

Unexpectedly Hers turned out to be a sweet story with a beautiful ending. One that was totally expected since it was hinted at through most of the story. True love finally shown through and distrusting, guilt-laden mothers were put in the back-ground.

A nice addition to the Sterling Canyon series. Emma, Wyatt, and Ryder were all fantastic characters each dealing with their own issues. I really connected with each of them and I enjoyed how the relationship between Emma and Wyatt developed. I hope Ryder returns to Sterling Canyon and we get his story to enjoy. This is a book I recommend for the must read list.

Althought the narration is good, the sentences are well built and the vocabulary is easy-to-understand and not very heavy, I gave it 2 stars because of the story.

The first two books of the series were cute, light reads but this installment was a disappointment. Emma acted more like a 16 year old, than a 31 year old woman; her endless insecurities were annoying. I didn't feel any chemistry she and Wyatt; maybe a prologue or flashback with have been helpful to establish their connection? The one bright spot was catching up with the other couples of Sterling Canyon. Not certain if I'll read anymore books from this author.

I receive a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Unexpectedly Hers is the third book in the Sterling Canyon series by Jamie Beck. It is not necessary to have read the first two books as this can be read as a standalone novel. But I suggest reading Accidentally Hers and Secretly Hers so that you will understand why I had to give this one such a low rating.

I was really looking forward to reading this book and I was so disappointed when I didn't like it. Jamie Beck has created a fun series set in a small Colorado tourist town with great characters, but this book felt like it was something different than the first two. It wasn't the sweet love story I expected as the first two had been. But more than anything, I never connected with either of the main characters. When you are flipping ahead in a romance story to read about what happens to the secondary characters, it's a bad sign. Emma was annoying, Wyatt was obnoxious and I couldn't figure out what these two were supposed to like about each other besides sex. And Emma's mother was just the worst. I was more interested in what was happening with Wyatt's brother, Ryder, and handyman Andy than with the couple.

Ms. Beck is a great writer and I am not giving up on this series because I hope to read Andy's love story someday soon, but this one was not for me.

Unexpectedly Hers: Sterling Canyon Book 3 is by Jamie Beck. This third book in the series is the best so far. This series is set in Sterling Canyon which is located in the Rocky Mountains in ski country. the mountains. Once again, second chances is the major theme.
Emma Duffy is a quiet, polite, girl in town. She helps her Mother run the in which is located in the old building that was started in 1900. Her Grandparents had run it, followed by her Mother, and now Emma. Emma also did all the cooking which many said made the inn. However, behind this humble and quiet exterior was a person no one knew. Emma was the writer of an adult erotic novel. It was to be printed soon and she has no one to tell about it. Emma wrote it with a pseudonym. The premise and the main character was somewhat based on Wyatt, a snowboard champion. She wasn’t concerned about his seeing the book as much as her mother since she figured she would never see him again. Was she mistaken!
Wyatt Lawson was a former snowboard champion. He had taken a year off to be with his brother, Ryder, while he was recovering from a horrible accident which almost took his life. Wyatt was determined to bring his brother back into snowboarding. He had come to Sterling Canyon to learn freeriding skiing. He was too old to get back into the snowboarding so needed another field. He was being shadowed by a film crew which was filming his life in coming back. They were staying at Emma’s inn. Would he recognize her after their one night stand?
Can Emma keep her identity a secret? Will Wyatt succumb to his attraction to Emma? Will Ryder get with the filming like Wyatt wants him to? How will Emma’s friends and family react to her novel writing?

**My thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This can be read as a stand alone book although it is part of a series and i did not feel as if anything was lost with the other characters by not having read their stories.

This book was ok, but i really struggled that at age 31 Emma was such a wet blanket with her mother and had not reached out to be more of her own person before now. The fact that she was still living with her mother at the end of the book and using her royalties to fix up the inn also sat as daft, especially as she could have used that money to get her own place and be her own person. Just daft!!

Emma's mum was also someone i did not like, i mean what adult chastises their 31 year old daughter for kissing someone. I mean really!

Wyatt was ok but again i had issues with his character, but i did live his brother Ryder who seemed to have more character and lovability than his bland brother.

I will not be reading any further book in this series.

It was fine. I just lost interest. Like an earlier installment in the series, it seemed to get caught in a loop of the same behavior again and again.
My patience is nil at the moment.
I will probably revisit.

Emma was a true surprise. I loved that she had another side that no one is aware of and she occasionally steps out of her box. I am glad that Wyatt was able to help her with it. I liked how she was able to connect with Ryder. Great story.

This is the third book in the Sterling Canyon series and while I enjoyed it, I didn't exactly love it like I loved the other books in the series. I found this one to be quite slow going and didn't hold my attention how I want a book to. To be honest, I skimmed through some of it because I found it to be very repetitive. The characters seemed to have the same arguments over and over again which I found to be quite annoying.

Shy and quiet Emma Duffy helps run her family's bed-and-breakfast but at night she secretly writes erotic romance hot enough to melt the snow in the Colorado town she lives in. Emma's double life is put to the test when her mother books the whole inn to a professional snowboarder, Wyatt Lawson. The same man that Emma has a lurid one night stand with that became the inspiration for her novel and the sexy as sin hero. He doesn't seem to remember her and she hopes he never will.

When Wyatt arrives in Sterling Canyon, his main focus is to start training to get back on the snowboarding circuit after he had to take a hiatus when his brother suffered a life altering brain injury in competition. The last thing he expects is to fall for a girl, especially one that is not his usual type. But unlike his usual types, Emma isn't using him...until Emma's pen name and novel come to light. Wyatt can withstand a tumble or two from his athletic training, but how will his heart survive the crash and burn of his relationship with Emma?
I absolutely Wyatt and his brother Ryder. I felt for Ryder and all the struggles he went through on a daily basis with his traumatic brain injury (TBI). The author really did her research on TBIs because the mood swings, light sensitivities and attitude changes from before the accident to after fit his diagnosis to a T. The thing that really bothered me about this book was the fact that Emma based her life around her mother and was afraid to really do anything and really be herself for fear that her mother would disown her or something. I found Emma's character to be really weak throughout the course of this book and she gave off a very different vibe than what I got from being introduced to her in books 1 & 2 in the series. Other than that, the book was filled with angst and passion and emotion and I actually quite enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I have enjoyed very much the books of Jamie Beck. I read the Sterling Canyon novels 1 and 2 a while ago, and I really liked them. However this one, surprised me. I identified myself so much with Emma and her story that I almost felt I was reading about me and meditating on my life. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Emma shared a night of passion years ago, with a man story books are made out of. In fact, she is about to publish that very book under a pen name. In her everyday life, Emma helps run the family's bed n breakfast. She is nothing like the character in her book. She is considered a wallflower.
Her mum has planned a trip away leaving Emma in charge of the B & B. The man of her dreams ends up being her guest, but he comes with his own baggage. A film crew are doing a story about his career come back. He is a professional skier, but things have changed. He's now the player she once knew.

4 stars out of 5. This book felt a little different to the other books by this author, however, is worth the read.

After reading the second book in this series, I didn't think twice before picking this up to review. And the writing remains as lovely.

Aside from one night of freedom years ago—which has led into her first published novel about to be published—, Emma has always been the good girl her mother hoped from her, especially after her father abandoned the family to follow his dream of Hollywood. Now she was left by herself to take care of the family's inn for a movie crew, the real version of her sexy character Dallas is back in her life, thus she needs to be careful not to be unmasked.

Montlake Romance books do have an appeal to me and this one was no exception. As was the previous number in the series, Unexpectedly Hers is even above average, compared to the others I have read from them. But it's impossible not to compare to Sterling Canyon #2, and this time I can't use the word above.. I did find a lot of the elements I loved in the second and the plot was even more interesting but the development of the story was a little flat. Again, this is better than most romance books but weaker when we're only talking about this series.

Character-wise, Emma was a good idea. Leading some sort of double life not because she wanted to fool others but because she wished her outside persona were her real self made my heart go to her. Also she's a great cook, how not to love? Her romantic interest Wyatt is a family guy even if he has the party boy fame. I liked how he wasn't a walking cliché whom Emma was supposed to break.

I think one of my issues with this book was when it came to the couple. I don't mean chemistry but I didn't find their getting together exciting and while they had a lot of material for a main conflict, the climax came and I felt even less willing to cheer for them. To be honest, that was a good excuse for conflict but a terrible reason for arguing. It was like the wrong person got angry there, and for being presumptuous. Pause for clicking my tongue here.

One nice point was an absence of rivals. There were lots of candidates, and I confess I hate that device in romances, so I was a little anxious every time a character seemed about to get in the way. Fortunately, Beck never went that route. For those following the series, you will love the appearances from previous characters, and Trip from #2 was again the funniest here. They gave a new life to a story that seemed on the brink of going stale, in my opinion.

In all, this was another heartwarming story from Jamie Beck. Family is the big theme here, as well as following your own passions while being yourself. I do recommend it to those who enjoy romance books, this is cute enough to warm your winter.

This is a second chance romance for Emma and Wyatt but it wasn't one I particularly liked. It's an ok read but frankly I found Emma pretty immature and Wyatt wasn't the best guy either. I wasn't committed to these two getting together, which disappointed me because Beck has a nice writing style and I liked the setting. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. Try this one - it might have struck me wrong but that's just me.

What a great book! Right from the start you are pulled into the characters lives. The book is full of romance, secrets, & fun. Emma appears a quiet, somewhat shy homebody but her secret is a doozy! Wyatt comes across as arrogant, slightly self absorbed & sure his way is the right way. Ryder is fighting for a life of his own by trying to not get involved. The interactions between these three & with the supporting characters are great. Fun, flirty, sassy, anger, disappointment - all tones are there & pull you further into the story. The descriptions of the scenes have you picturing the scenes in your mind & feeling right at home. It was an entertaining read.

SPOILERS. Lots of spoilers.

I have read and enjoyed everything that Jamie Beck has ever written and after loving Trip and Kelsey's book, I was so excited for this one and the fun premise, but I'm sad to say that it missed the mark for me. Completely. To quote the book, this review is “only the opinion of one person, not a wholesale assessment of a writer's skill”. Ms. Beck has written multiple books about various topics, and I have enjoyed all of them until now, so this is not an assessment of her skill, but my takeaway from what was - for me - a rare miss from this incredibly talented author.

While I appreciate her attempt at branching out and being more daring, the entire book felt like Ms. Beck was told that the series was too sweet and that she needed to add some spice to it. Sadly, in changing up the theme and tone, the characters seemed to suffer. Something that was so surprising to me considering that Ms. Beck's talent lies in writing fantastic characters that always make the story.

The best thing about this book was Ryder. I loved him and I wish that we had gotten to know more about him because he was the only 'new' character in this book that I liked. I wanted to know more about his past, his struggle and his recovery, his newfound artistic skills, and about what he was up to in Sterling Canyon while he was there. And admittedly, at first I wanted Emma to fall for him, but that faded pretty quickly and I was glad he got out of dodge when he did.

Instead of it feeling like a really nice love story, like the other two books in the series, this one felt like some kind of social justice crusade against 'societal expectations' full of clunky pop culture references which would have been fine, except that this one starred two incredibly unlikable main characters. The more I read of Wyatt and his self-centered arrogance, the more I wished this book had been about Ryder, or even Andy. But no, we got Wyatt, who swaggered his ego into a small town inn, met the shy, reserved woman running it – a woman he so casually dismissed in his own mind as unworthy of his notice, until he saw her butt, of course - and because she was later singing a suggestive pop song by herself in the privacy of her own pantry, he felt he had the right to put his hands on her without her consent? That is not okay. And not only that, her anger at being touched without warning or permission automatically made him think that she might like rough sex...because that's a totally logical leap. Ironically enough, all of this happened with Emma - who did NOTHING to encourage his advances and was obviously uncomfortable around him - just pages after he lamented the fact that he was painted as an arrogant misogynist in the media. I can't imagine why anyone would think that of him... Then, in an effort to prove that he wasn't a total pig, he ignored her attempts at putting distance between them, and instead of respecting her when she said that she didn't want to get involved with him, he deemed her firm rejection of him a “challenge”. All of this is a typical romance novel “alpha” schtick and others will probably love it, but I found it off-putting. It was ironic that Emma used the term “alpha-hole” for her book hero because that's exactly what Wyatt was.

But Emma...Emma was worse. She was weak and fake and so worried about what all of the “good Christians” (aka the bad guys in this book) around her would think that I just wanted to shake her. She's 31 years old, living in a town where Trip Lexington used to troll for women constantly, but she was terrified that the town and her mom might find out that she kissed a guy? She constantly acted like she was 13, not 31. Whenever she felt weak or scared, she blamed whoever was convenient at that moment (her mother, her father, her religious upbringing, the entire town she lives in, or her being too “conservative”) for her issues instead of growing up and admitting that SHE is the one with problem. “Emma Duffy wasn't interested in easy” because “easy” wouldn't leave her anyone else to blame for her own shortcomings. But never fear, Wyatt and his magical rough sex were there to get kinky with her and make her feel like a whole woman. Because she couldn't be a whole woman by herself, she could only achieve that by being with an “alpha male”. But the worst part was at the end of the book when instead of making her own life and standing up to the mother who ran roughshod over her from the first page of the book, she used her earnings from the book that her mother had reacted so hatefully to in order to buy her mother's approval. That was actually worse than her years of blaming everyone for her issues or being magically fixed by kinky sex. Although I so badly wanted to love Emma and her erotica writing secret, she was everything that I didn't want in a book heroine.

I can't stand stereotyping, and this book was rife with blatant stereotyping that seemed to be added in just to give Emma a reason to be indignant and weak. Emma went from praying when she was worried about Wyatt, to cursing her Catholic upbringing and all of the “good Catholics/Christians” in town with lightning speed. One of the most ridiculous examples of “good Christians” being awful people is how they are apparently the only people in town who judged Andy for driving drunk and hitting Grey with his car then making excuses and blaming everyone else for his problems. I guess we're supposed to believe that the non-Christians in town are totally fine with his irresponsible actions and his inability to face his own mistakes. Also, to compare the “scandal” of writing erotica to almost killing someone by doing something ignorant and preventable was baffling, even for a romance novel.

This story had so much promise. I loved the idea behind Emma writing erotica and having a fun, daring alter-ego, but the execution here just didn't work for me. Which makes me sad because I liked Emma in the previous books and was looking forward to her HEA. Although my review was harsh, and unlike Emma's judgmental mother I hope that this book sells well and that other people enjoy it more than I did because I have a lot of admiration for Ms. Beck and her incredible writing talent. I will still be one of the first in line to read her next book.

I requested and ARC from NetGalley and wrote an honest review.

This book almost made it to a Did Not Finish, but I hung in there to avoid making this my 1st DNF for the year. It was an interesting idea, but the execution more often fell flat. The characters, the sexier moments, the ploy to make us sympathize with the unfortunates, and the moral of be true to yourself and not try to meet the expectations of the holier than thou mother all fell short of being something that could've been done better and earned this book a higher rating.

The sex really seemed odd to me. It felt as if the escapades -- whipped cream, tying, etc. -- were a bit cartoonish. I'm not even sure if the author stuck with more vanilla ideas if it would've been better. The scenes tried to shock but were completely unforgettable because it lacked emotion and sensuality.

As I don't usually read God-spiration books, I was sort of uncomfortable with the preachiness/justification. As it's part of the character, I just had to grit my teeth and get through it.

The only thing I wanted to hear more about was the food Emma prepared. 1-2 stars.

Couldn't finish

The first book of this series, Accidentally Hers, was so long and convoluted, I was just glad to see it finally end. It was so bad, I almost didn't read the 2nd book, Secretly Hers. Turns out, it was quite good. I was happily surprised, and went straight into Unexpectedly Hers next, hoping for another winner.
I guess one out of three ain't too bad. Such a disappointment. It just went on and on and on. Building up toward...something. I guess. It just never seemed to get there. Finally, I was just so fed up, wondering if we're getting to the romance soon, and getting more and more frustrated with each non eventful page. Then, I looked down, and saw the grim reality...I was only to the 48% point! With utterly NO romance. I was fed up, and bored by that point, and realized, I'm not even half way through. Just like the first book in the series, Unexpectedly Hers is another one that for me, is way too long, way too convoluted, way too little romance. I closed it out, and deleted it from my kindle, unfinished.

I can't get over how much I disliked this whole series. normally I love reading about the same characters and getting more into their stories but this was just exaggerated scenarios for no reason. people don't act this way in real life. idk, more and more I'm seeing contemporary fiction isn't for me.

I liked Wyatt, he was sweet and down to Earth, “I’ve never failed to reach any goal I’ve set. If that makes me cocky, so be it.” He kissed her hand again. “Stay with me tonight?” I enjoyed this book. I thought Emma and Wyatt made a great team.
