The cover blurb makes it sound like this is all about how Evangelicals are converting to more "high church" denominations like Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. While that topic is dealt with to a degree, the book is primarily a fairly standard "this is why Evangelical Protestants think that the high church denominations are seriously wrong" book. Only a few things set it apart from other books of this sort:

1. The author is more honest than most about the fact that the 2nd-3rd century church more closely resembles Catholicism than Protestantism

2. The author spent many years in Eastern Orthodox churches so he focuses on them a little more than on Roman Catholicism

Other than those points, there is little to recommend this book over similar books. The argumentation was not very rigorous, the subject matter seemed to be organized somewhat haphazardly, and the author didn't even spend much time on the issues that he said are most likely to attract Evangelicals to these kinds of churches. Personally, I felt that Are We Together by R. C. Sproul was much better articulated even though it was less than half the length.
