TWISTED BOND:
Drake obviously doesn't know that it's rude to bring up inappropriate matters, "his smile grows. “Noelle,” he murmurs, “not ten minutes ago, you had your legs wrapped around my waist and your tongue in my mouth. Little late to be worryin’ about personal space, don’t you think, cupcake?” I really think Noelle and Drake are perfect for each othr they egg each other on but really it's sexual flirtation, “Noelle, trust me, babe , you did effin’ do it. But that ain’t what that call was about.” Don’t look down, Noelle. Whatever you do, don’t look down at his pants. I look down. Holy ***t. I really did do it. And now, I do really want to do it." I really enjoyed this book, I think it's going to be another great series and Emma is showing us her talent for mystery and romance mixed in.
TANGLED BOND:
Drake is something else I think he and Noelle are perfect for each other, “sweet eff, cupcake. I think you just gave me a brain aneurism.” He chuckles. “Wear whatever you want. Preferably something that shows your leg and a hint of panties when you bend over.” Drake is one of those men who can appreciate his woman's assets, “have you seen your a** in those shorts? They’d wake up the entire graveyard if you walked through.” Noelle is such a smart***, “are you seriously asking me if this”—I motion to his exposed body—“is a problem?” I enjoy this series Noelle is so snarky and Drake is the man to handle her properly if you get my meaning.
TETHERED BOND:
Drake and Noelle's relationship is getting pretty serious, "the toilet flushes in the background. “Did you just pee on the phone with me?” Silence. “Now, I’m hoping you peed on the phone with me,” I say hesitantly. Wow. This relationship is going at warp speed." Drake is still one hot, alpha man, "he runs his tongue across his top lip. “Stay with me tonight.” I bite down on my lower lip. He notices, and his gaze becomes unwaveringly intense. “That wasn’t a request, Noelle. I’m telling you to stay with me tonight.” I thought this was the last book in the series but I get to the end and find out there's going to be another one so excited!
TIED BOND:
Drake is still that sexy beefcake that we all love and have naughty fantasies about, “suck it up, cupcake . I can perv on you if I want to. I’m your lover.” He grins, flicking his tongue against my ear." I really love the sweet side of Drake, “come on. Let’s go home,” Drake whispers in my ear, kissing my temple. “We’ll just order takeout and chill out. We’ll even watch some dumb girl movie I’ll hate every second of.” I love this series and it's because of Drake that boy has patience of a saint when it comes to Noelle.

Five stars for Holly Woods Files Box set (books 1-4) by Emma Hart
Genre: #Mystery, #Humor, #light-Romance, #Erotic, #Action, #Drama
Audience: 18+, Adults, Fans of Janet Evanovich and JD Robb
Series: Holly Woods Files (books 1-4)
Books in box set:
Twisted Bond
Tangled Bond
Tethered Bond
Tied Bond

Overall Conclusion:
Normally I would put the conclusion in the bottom of the review, but since this is a box set, the synopsis is very long, and some of you might not want to read that far. So here are my take on the Holly Woods Files. From the first book and on, I haven't been able to put them down. I was supposed to only review the first one, and got it in exchange for an honest review, but ended up buying the box set, so I could keep on reading. These books will appeal to fans of JD Robb and Janet Evanovich, since the heroin is a Texan mix of Eve Dallas and Stephanie Plumb. I warmly recommend this box set

Twisted Bond Conclusion:
This was one of the best girl detective books I have read, since I read my first Stephanie Plumb book (Janet Evanovich). It has so much of every thing I love in a good book. The Heroin was a kick ass and take no prisoner kind of girl, with a southern accent that made me crave sweet tea on a cool porch with a shotgun in my lab. It also had 25 chapters of foreplay that made me bring out the fans. My favorite side character has to be Nonna and her advise of life and love. She simply cracked me up. All in all Noelle bond is a super cool private eye, that you all are going to love. The books are a combination of humor, action and passion. I would warmly recommend to other as a great read.

Tangled Bond conclusion:
Book number two has even more action and drama, than book number one. Our heroin and hero are facing a series of murder. We also see how Noelles relationship with Drake evolves and she slowly learn to trust him. It's fascinating reading this second books and I can't wait for the next. I am hooked on the humor, action and fantastic developing characters.

Tethered Bond conclusion:
All I can do it keep laughing and keep turning the pages. In this book Noelle keeps being reckless by putting herself in danger, so it lucky she is always accompanied by her trusty guns. Guns and high heels always will be a lethal combination. I just love the humor, action and fantastic characters. It's awesome watching a love story slowly unfold in the middle of murder and mayhem. All I can say is, keep the books coming.

Tied Bond Conclusion:
These books are some of the best Cozy mysteries I have read in a long time. I love the combination of serious and laughter. I love watching the characters life evolve as the action and drama unfolds. Nonna, Gio and the rest of the side characters gives the story the zest, that pulls it from good to brilliant. This is a true page turner, that keeps you hooked from book to book. It has my warmest recommendations.

Synopsis: (official from Amazon)
Twisted Bond:
"I’m an Italian-Texan woman in a family full of cops. I’m passionate and shoot before I think. You only f*ck with me if you’re stupid."
Photograph cheating spouses. Hand over the evidence. Cash my check.
That was my plan when I returned home to Holly Woods, Texas, and became a private investigator.
Finding the dead body in my dumpster? Yeah… Given the choice, I think I would have opted out of that little discovery, especially since all three of my brothers are cops. And my Italian grandmother is sure the reason I’m single is because of my job.
Of course, my connection to the victim is entirely coincidental. Until I’m hired by her husband to investigate her murder and shoved bang-smack into the path of Detective Drake Nash. My nemesis, a persistent pain in my ass, and one hell of a sexy son of a bitch.
Shame he still holds a grudge from that time I shot him in the foot twelve years ago, or we could have something. In another life.
So now all I have to do is avoid my nonna’s blind dates, try not to blackmail my brothers into giving me confidential police files, and absolutely do not point my gun at Drake Nash. Or kiss him. Or jump his bones.
All while I hunt down the killer.
Sounds totally simple—until a second body proves that sometimes things that start as coincidences don’t always end up that way…

Tangled Bond:
One date with the sexier-than-sin Detective Drake Nash. Simple.
Until you take into account that my brother finally proposed to his girlfriend, so Nonna is on a warpath—and the crazy old bat has Cupid by the balls.
The upcoming mayoral elections has everyone running on full speed, and while I couldn’t give any less craps about the corrupt Holly Woods mayor’s office, a dead body in the middle of a campaign speech has me thrown right into the middle of it. The victim is close to the mayor, but all he cares about is minimizing the damage to his campaign, so he hires me to work alongside Drake to close the case as quickly as possible.
Bad news for our tentative relationship.
We disagree far more than we agree, but being at loggerheads won’t get this murder solved… Or deal with the arrival of someone from his past.
The mysteries behind the murder aren’t the only things unraveling, and despite being knee-deep in lies and corruption and bonds so tangled they’re almost indecipherable, I have to figure out if I’m willing to fight for Drake the way I do justice…
Or if he’ll be my one who gets away.

Tethered Bond:
Detective Drake Nash: hot, alpha, bossy, and… mine.
Now, if someone could tell his ex that... I don’t care if the summer fair is coming to Holly Woods and she’s on the planning committee. What I do care about is sugar-filled food, bright lights, late nights… and danger. The type that won’t come in the form of Nonna’s new cantankerous British parrot, Gio. (Please see the damage done to Mom’s new curtains.)
Unfortunately, when the danger comes, it comes in the form of something Holly Woods has never seen. The town is rocked to its core, and once again, I’m in danger. Only this time, it isn’t because of my clients—this time, I’m in danger because of who I am… Because of my heritage.
And despite the HWPD’s best efforts, the bodies keep on piling up.
Drake’s determined to protect me. I’m determined that I can do it myself.
Danger. Mystery. Darkness. Malice.
It’ll be a miracle if any of us make it out of this with guns unfired, cupcakes still frosted, and hearts intact…

Tied Bond:
Holly Woods is going to hell in a handbasket—but this time, Satanists aren’t to blame. Halloween is.
Nonna doesn’t understand why there are skeletons and demons everywhere. Mom is threatening to stitch a devil into Nonna’s pillowcase if she doesn’t shut up. Bek is bumbling over a date with Jason, the handsome FBI agent who conveniently got himself relocated to Austin, and I… Well. I’m considering running away to a town without the crazies.
Nothing new here.
Everything is going smoothly—too smoothly—and I can’t shake the feeling that something is about to happen. Drake insists I’m being paranoid… But when a body turns up at the Holly Woods Halloween party, we have a whole lot more than a murderer to worry about.
Because the prime suspect is his mom.
And it’s my job to prove she’s innocent.

Read the first one fairly painlessly.. although the stereotype Italian grandma ground my gears.. but couldn't get in any further. The main character is irritating.. the main make 'hero' is an arsehole. The 'love ' story is pathetic. The 'bibba' is as irritating af.. all that viwel adding at the beginning and end of every flipping word. Shockingly lazy writing. Nope. Not for me.

Who done it

If you like your mysteries solved with a lot of snark then this is the series for you. A very smart mouthed private eye and an overbearing police detective, what could possibly go wrong. The laughs come as fast as the clues.

Highly recommended

I loved everything about these four books. The storyline, the sense of humour.
Noelle Bond is not your typical leading lady; she's feisty, stubborn, intelligent and witty. She made me laugh on more than one occasion. She's a Private Investigator and knows how to handle herself and a gun.
She comes from an Italian family and has 3 brothers who are all in the Holly Woods police force.
Drake Nash our hero, was once shot in the foot by Noelle, they have a love hate relationship with plenty of sizzling chemistry.
Each book in this set is as intriguing as the last. The relationship between Noelle and Drake has been interesting through each, steamy scenes, hot arguments and the bond that develops is something Noelle never expected.
Great characters throughout but best character award has to go to Noelle's crazy Nonna.
Fantastic gripping storyline that had me turning each page to see what happened next.
Highly recommended.

Well, I just binge read the whole box set and loved it. This series is completely different from other books I've read. These are first and foremost a detective thriller style. Noelle Bond is an ex cop turned PI, born into an Italian family of cops (Dad & 3 brothers). Detective Drake Nash heads the local Police Dept in Holly Woods, he's best friends with her brother, they've grown up together, they are attracted to each other yet hate each other. She takes no shit from anyone and doesn't back down for anything. He is a pure Alpha male, domineering, sex on legs. Mix in her crazy Italian family (Nonna is just the best), and some murders, some hot sexy scenes and some downright laugh out loud moments and you've got one hell of a series. Loved it, give it a go!!

It's been a rollercoaster ride to read these books but totally worth it. It's been one of the best series I've read in a while. A series of books that you just can't get enough from! The way the books are written and the stories that draw you in, you always want to read more. You just can't stop reading. Each book had suspense but the lead character, a strong sassy woman, tries to solve each murder and the way she does it, makes her even more loveable :-) Loved her banter with Drake every time.
I seriously hope there will be more books in this series 'cuz I have enjoyed reading these every step of the way! I highly recommend these books.

Emma Hart's Holly Woods series starring Noelle Bond pulls you into the story from page one! She's a strong, independent, often abrasive leading lady. There were a considerable amount of typos, especially in the first 3 books. Because this series was recommended to me by a friend, and the story held my interest, I proceeded on. As I am writing this, I have completed the first 5 books in the series. Each book has gotten better, and I highly recommend them to those who enjoy a mystery intermixed with their romance. This series has it all!

Ahmaaazing!

This series is like none you've ever read before. I'm serious, it's just not out there. Noelle is the strongest, most flu mouthed, smartest woman you'll ever meet. Drake is just as potty mouthed with an alpha over protective gene that tends to annoy Noelle greatly. The books are mystery first that are full written out stories that aren't just fillers for the romance. The romance is real and it's realistically written. I loved them all!

LOVED!!!!

I don't even know where to begin or how to describe how much I love this series! By the first chapter of the first book I was completely hooked. I can't believe I didn't have Drake & Noelle in my life sooner. Their back and forth banter kept me entertained the entire time and don't even get me started on Nonna. I absolutely love that lady. Holly Woods Files is an amazing story that I cannot wait to continue!

This series is an absolute gem! Her writing is easy and everything flows nicely. The characters were totally relatable and believable making me totally want to pack up, move to Holly Woods and become a PI so I can have friends and employees line Bek and Colton, not to mention the hot police officer brothers!
