Wow. A very pleasant suprise
I bought this on a lark...and am glad i did. This is an oddly unique combination of what feels (to my limited POV) like Kipling, C.S. Lewis, Joshua Dalzelle and maybe a bit of Knights Templar too..
*Old* school Pre-WW2 sensibilities on Duty, Faith, and Mission in the face of wild Darkness, yet set centuries and light years from here.
Damn good first effort...starts a little dodge but finishes Hard. One of the more entertaining stories I have read in the last year.
I am deliberately not giving spoiler details. The story is wholly self contained in one book, but Mr. May has left the door open for more.
I will definitely buy a next one if he does.

Great story. Original. Moral.
It was refreshing to read a tale that spans the ages, yet is still focused enough and coherent enough to provide an engaging and compelling moral story. There is love but not gratuitous sexuality. There is violence and horror in the midst of moral clarity. There is devotion to the one true God without hypocrisy or the taste of artificial sweetener so common in religious novels. Eta Canrci is an entertaining read that feels good even after the last page turns.

great story, self published
Fantastic story, great setting, characters you care about, rare treatment of religion/religious characters as gods and intelligent people. The universe is compelling, I hope he writes more in this setting.
The only downside is it’s self published, with the usual occasional typos or dropped word. Hopefully this book will have enough success he can hire a proofreader/editor for the next one.

Something strange has been found in the Eta Cancri (Cancer? The crab?) system. A corporate mercenary team, a thief on the run, and a young data analyst end up facing the mystery. Transhumanism, interstellar travel, a lost earth, and occult horrir come together in this unusual milfic thriller. Well worth the price.
