By the general law of their species, once a royal fae hit one hundred, the fae was to spend a year touring the four kingdoms. However, for Prince Radisq, it would be his first journey away from all he was familiar with. The celebration held in honor of his hundredth birthday marked not only his sojourn into the other kingdoms but also marked his first foray into finding his mate, with the mating call only occurring once every hundred years, and only lasting a few months.

For Aaeren, the firstborn son of the fire kingdom, he had never known love of the soul mate kind. In fact, he didn’t believe in it, nor want it. After all, what need had he of someone constantly underfoot when he could enjoy the camaraderie of other sports. He had no desire to partake in the water prince’s celebration, but during their first meeting, sparks fly and resistance is futile.

Disappointing ****SPOILER******

I really enjoyed this authors other books so this was a big disappointment. Really? The king dies ina suspicious manner & then Uncle Rasputin shows up? Big cliche that I saw cominga mile away.

This book is different but not. The world is interesting - it's based off of the 4 elements - Earth, Fire, Water, and Air. It's run by noble Fae families within each elemental sector. Fated mates are a huge deal and this is how the story starts....It's Prince Radisq's of the Water Fae 100th birthday and at the celebration all the eligible princes are invited in hopes of Radisq finding his fated mate. I won't say more than that. The story has many cliches and insta-love. Both of which I absolutely love and read often because it's nice to get away from the emotionally charged stuff for a while. This is an excellent beginning to a new series and I love the escapism of it. In this story you will laugh, cry (or at least get sad), cheer, and fall in love. I look forward to the rest of the series!

Aaeren and Radisq are a perfect mated pair. How they were there for each other during what for each was an emotional time was beautiful. What really made this story so enjoyable was how the author brought the world of the fae to life. The society of three of the four kingdoms was so we'll described. I can see why it was a nervous time for Radisq when leaving his home. I could just imagine living in the Earth kingdom. Toby Aden did a great job of laying the groundwork for the rest of the series to play out on. I can't wait to read the next one.

Interesting book, however there seemed to be a lack of emotion in the writing.

Diese Geschichte um Feen ist schnell gelesen. Mir fehlt die Spannung und das gewisse etwas, um dieses Buch interessant zu machen, mal schauen wie es weitergeht
