New York Times bestselling author Zane presents a tantalizing short story collection, which is now the basis of the Cinemax series Zane's Sex Chronicles , calls for a sexual revolution and brings forth our favorite characters—Patience James, Maricruz, Lyric, Eboni, and Ana Marie—as they balance common day-to-day issues, a slew of hot sex, and the fine men in the big city.
Anyone who thinks that men are by nature more sexual than women or that African American women are especially inhibited hasn’t read Zane. Here, she presents an erotic read in three Wild, Wilder, and Off Da Damn Hook.
With a unique ability to tell it like it is—and also to tell it like it could be in your wildest dreams—Zane crafts stories about everyone from the sensual housewife who wants her husband to experiment more to a secret underground sorority of women that organizes some rather unconventional social events. By turns tender and outrageous, The Sex Chronicles is a pleasure from beginning to end.
Zane is the New York Times bestselling author of Afterburn, The Heat Seekers, Dear G-Spot, Gettin’ Buck Wild, The Hot Box, Total Eclipse of the Heart, Nervous, Skyscraper, Love is Never Painless, Shame on It All, and The Sisters of APF; the ebook short stories “I’ll be Home for Christmas” and “Everything Fades Away”; and editor for the Flava anthology series, including Z-Rated and Busy Bodies. In the beginning it catches my attension by introducing each character from a group of friends, which i dont understand why Zane does that because after she is done intoducing friends she totally goes off into sex fantasies and never speaks of them again in the book. If you like to read total sex stories back to back and you love Zane then this is the book for you...
Just as great as many of her stories! She really out did herself with this collection. Some of the stories and the anthology had me flipping pages quicker that the speed of light lol A great read overall.
This was the first Zane book that I had the immense pleasure of reading. I was hooked from the first page. Anyone who has read Zane's books knows exactly what I'm talking about. This is one of the few authors that writes about things NON-paranormal that I read. If you haven't read Zane and you like a lot of heat in your novels. READ HER STUFF!!!
This is one of my all time favorite books. I dont really read anything other than black erotica so I wont say alot about this book except that its an excellent read. This story has climax, conflicts and different plots. It is wrote mainly as a character v chacter and chacters vs self.
A must read! Along with the rest of this talented artist's books. I have always been a fan of Zane, she is one who inspires the author of By All Mean$ (Bobby "BJ" Austin). I encourage you to read Sex Chronicles and once you are done, check out By All Mean$!
Just a bit much for me. Too much sex talk, ok if that is what you like.I have never read her books. I knew it would be full of exotic but I guess I was not expecting so much. The book had a good story line. She basically writes about what women think but will do in this fantasy book.
All of these stories remind me of why I love Zane in the first place. So raw and real with the storytelling and it grabs your attention from the start to the finish. You definitely did it with this for sure. Read this ASAP no disappointments at all.
The book was very interesting the only problem was there were too many friends to keep up with. All of them were a tad different from others and thats what i liked about them.
It said on the book cover Cinemax series. After reading I know why it's on "skinemax". I was told it was popular before Fifty Shades came out. All I can say is it was a quick read but mostly dumb.
I would have loved to read most of the stories in more depth. The book’s opening section, which focuses on explaining all of Zane’s friends, felt a bit disjointed as the later stories seem to drift away from those initial characters. Each mini story is interesting in its own way, and I appreciated the author’s creativity throughout. Still, the steaminess itself didn’t quite resonate with me; though that may be because this work was a pioneer in erotica by black women, and I am used to more modern writing in the genre.
