It's a great book for its purpose, being a business primer. I looked at it as a very detailed complete MBA syllabus. This touches upon the basics that you are going to learn in business school, but of course, you will dive further in school. However, if you want to prepare yourself a bit for what you're in for, or if you're not sure that an MBA is for you, this would be a great book to read to answer that question. I'm about to start an MBA program with no business undergrad experience, and after reading this, I feel much more confident that while I don't have any educational experience in business, my professional experience has given me a better understanding of the business world than I thought.

Too much generic, some interesting new concepts, but I will need something more powerful...

A good book, offering a general overview of the businesses world. Combine it with a project management course and a business analysis course and you will get a very good understanding of how a firm works in the areas of business, management, critical thinking and economy.

This is perfect book with its title, anyhow for me it has take 3 days to complete.
After reading this book I am more profound for doing management studies in detail level.

I feel if someone has not done MBA and starting his carrier in corporate in any level should read this.
It will broaden his mind and views.

Thanks...

Having attended a top-tier business school I read this book to see how close to the mark it was. Conclusion: very far off. Even adjusting for it being out-of-date by several years (The chapters on IT and e-commerce are almost laughable.), it really only provides a cursory overview of the topics that would be covered in business school and it clearly targets an audience of new or potential small business owners. Most importantly, it just provides some vague concepts as opposed to inciting the reader actually to think through business situations, which is the primary academic purpose of case-method (most top-tier) business schools. Not recommended.

The Book is good, especially for those without formal business education. The author covers most of the MBA basics and gives reader more confident in business daily work decisions. I personally enjoyed most of the chapters, and I recommended the books especially for people who are already in business and in contact with various department in the company.

A very good business primer it is overdue for an update especially the tech sections but well worth the time of someone considering pursuing an MBA or someone who wants to gain the knowledge without spending the time in a traditional or executive MBA program

That the way I like books, direct compact and filled with info, I don't like reading 50 pages to get 5 pages info.
