Tell Me Again

Rate this book
As a teenager, Samantha Carlton used a career in modeling to break free from her painful childhood—walking away from her reckless twin sister, an alcoholic mother, and the boy she loved. Yet she never outran the guilt of abandoning her family. When the past shows up on her doorstep in the form of her late sister’s daughter, Sam opens her home and her heart to the girl she never knew existed. But it’s not so easy to face the man she left behind…

Sam had shattered Trevor Kincaid’s heart, and he’d sought comfort in her sister’s arms. But he’d pledged to shield his daughter, Grace, from the drama that followed the Carlton women. Now Grace has tracked down Sam, and Trevor is forced to deal with the one woman he wanted to forget.

History has a way of repeating itself, and the sparks between Sam and Trevor reignite an old flame. But as much as Sam wants a new future, is walking away again easier than risking her heart for a second chance at love?

Yeah... ok.... the idea of the story is good. But it miss the plot and deamatize moment. As result it feel really 1 dimensional story.

Characters also not helping. The writing does not make the chemistry between characters flaming.

Tell Me Again was an enjoyable story about a second chance at love and apart from some issues with the hero, I enjoyed it.

To escape her neglectful mother and reckless twin sister, Samantha Carlton used her newfound career in modeling to leave town which unfortunately meant leaving behind the boy she loved. After Sam broke his heart, Trevor Kincaid sought comfort from her sister which resulted in a daughter. After Grace tracks Sam down, Sam and Trevor are forced to resolve what happened all those years ago. If the two don’t find a way to deal with what’s between them, they risk losing the love they’ve only just rediscovered.

Sam changed her life for the better after going through a few rough years following her twin sister’s death. She gave up modeling and opened a camp for troubled teens in Colorado. She’s turned into an incredibly strong person and has done a great job building a life for herself. She has a wonderfully supportive group of friends and enjoys the work she does. However, she does still feel immense guilt over Bryce’s death and how their relationship was in the years before Bryce died.

Trevor was quite frankly, an ass. He never got over Sam leaving and does everything he can to hold it against her. He never defends her when people talk bad about her and he was constantly threatening to not let her see Grace. I will admit he built a good life for Grace and for the most part is a great father to her. However, when Grace tries to make decisions for herself, he does everything he can to keep her from chasing her dreams so he can hold onto the notion she’s still his little girl.

Because of my issues with Trevor, I was never fully on board with his and Sam’s relationship. The two had great chemistry, but ultimately I couldn’t look past how poorly Trevor treated Sam. He does have a bit of a turnaround near the end of the book, but sadly it was too late in my opinion. I enjoyed Sam’s relationship with Grace a lot more. The two start off very unsure of each other but build a great relationship over time.

The side characters are what made this book so enjoyable for me. Not realizing it was part of a series, I had read the fourth book, Meant for You, first and fell in love with most of the characters then. Jenny continued to be my favorite character in this book and I enjoyed seeing more of her. Sam and her friends have such a great friendship and are incredibly supportive of each other. Some of my favorite scenes were when the four women all got together.

Overall, I enjoyed Tell Me Again for Sam and the side characters and will be checking out the other books in this series soon.

ARC received in lieu of a honest review.
This is the first story I have read by Michelle Major, a contemporary romance. The story's plot was a bit different that the usual romance, sadly the story was a bit slow. Our female heroine moving on from her past, comes to grip with the fact that the boy she loved and left behind has returned into her life. The kicker is he has a daughter by her twin(who is now dead) She desperately wishes to have a relationship with her niece, but tries not to have feelings for the man. We can as a reader see where this is going. There were some characters within the story that helped it along(Jenny)

I liked this story.

I don't think it was the best but its a nice feeling sort of romance. I don't really think the ending is the best. Its a bit quick once he realises he was wrong. He does a lot of apologising for wrongs he has committed.

Sam is meant to be this gorgeous supermodel whose niece is a spitting image of her. She has made some bad decisions and is trying to right her wrongs.

E-ARC received thanks to the publisher and Netgalley.

Also on Oh So Mellifluous!.

2.5-3 stars.

Second chance romance is one of my favourite tropes ever. I'm always partial to the angst and pain in books and after reading the blurb on Netgalley, requesting for this book is a no-brainer.

What I Like

Shamelessly, I'm one of the people who judge a book by its cover. I'm more likely to purchase a book if the cover is pretty (gotta do it for the aesthetic ayyyy), and this book has one of the nicest covers in Romance, IMO. I absolutely adore the purple gradient, and the title font isn't too shabby either.

There is so much guilt surrounding Sam--mainly regarding her estranged sister who died, the whole thing about the niece she never knew she had, and the fact that her niece's father was her ex-boyfriend--this story is basically catnip for me, and since I picked this up for the pain, I can say that it was painful, so kudos on that. I also really enjoy Sam's narrative and I love her best friends, and I love seeing her bond with Grace.

What I Don't Like

Oh man, the main reason that spoiled the whole experience for me is definitely Trevor. I don't appreciate his indecisive thinking and knee-jerk reactions every time something goes bad. I mean, I get that he's been hurt in the past by Sam leaving him, but having him back-tracking and going hot and cold on Sam when they were trying to rebuild things together just made me want to break something. I feel like every conflict in this story could be avoided had he like...chill out a little?

Overall, this could have been a lot better. The story is nicely paced, though, and I really enjoyed Ms. Major's writing and will definitely be checking out her other works.

Samantha is a former famous model who gave up her career mainly due to guilt because she had issues being a sex symbol, and it causes a major estrangement with her twin sister Bryce. Samantha now runs a camp for troubled teens, and has a wonderful group of girl friends. But since Samantha is still haunted by her modeling days, she hides behind big clothes and downplays her beauty. One night when she returns home, she finds a teen girl in her house playing nice with her dog. Her name is Grace and she thinks Samantha is her mother. Grace is actually Bryce's daughter, and Grace's father is Sam's childhood sweetheart Trevor. Sam never knew Grace existed, and that Trevor and Bryce got married and had a daughter. Also since Bryce killed herself, Sam doesn't have any choice but to get I touch with Trevor about Grace's sudden appearance.

Trevor is upset and raging that Grace sough out Sam. He has never forgiven Sam for up and leaving him and her sister, and alcoholic mother. He never wanted Sam to know about Grace. When he fetches Grace, he's rude and surly to her, to the point of insulting her in her own home. But Grace wants to get to know Sam, and since Trevor can't deny his daughter anything, he agrees, but still thinks the worse about Sam.

Sam is thrown for a loop, not only because Trevor ended up with Bryce and had a daughter together, but that Trevor has a very poor opinion of her. He must think models are the worse of the worse, assuming she slept around to get her modeling jobs. This man who she once loved as a young girl is so mistrustful toward her because she had the gall to leave him behind to have her chance at a better life. Because she was so selfish, her sister killed herself, and left Trevor a single dad with a confused teenager. But even though Trevor insults Sam whenever he sees her, although he does volunteer to do some handy type work at her camp, her attraction toward him flares again. The same goes for him. Since their fire for one another is intense, they'll sleep together until is dies out. But as they become close and have a sexual relationship, while Trevor continues to insult her, they have to confront the past in order to have a future together.

Tell Me Again really disappointed me big time. I was looking forward to Sam's story, but she's partnered with a true jerk of a hero. Trevor calls Sam a whore constantly, and accuses her of sleeping around. He gets jealous when he invites Sam to a concert at Grace's school. When Sam talks to Grace's band teacher about giving lessons at her camp, Trevor yet again accuses Sam of trying to seduce the teacher. AND the mothers at the school also assume Sam is a vixen and a woman of questionable means because she was a model, and she runs a camp for bad kids, aka criminals who will enter their communities and will rob and steal.

There's a lot of assumption here about Sam that is ridiculous and eye rolling. Trevor never comes to Sam's defense because in the back of his mind he thinks the worse of her. Sam is on pins and needles with Trevor because he constantly threatens to take Grace away from her. He never trusts Sam unconditionally, which is a big big problem in believing this romance. Trevor is the wrong type of character for Sam. He acts more like a villain than a hero. Because of Trevor lacking any redeemable qualities, I couldn't get behind his HEA with Sam. I can see in the future Trevor dumping Sam because she is too friendly with another man or if they have some type of fight, he'll bring up her past and how she didn't care about him or her sister in order to become something great.

A big pass on this one. Trevor is a hero to say no to.

Sam used to work as a model. She and her identical twin sister Bryce started doing this when they were teenagers. While Sam used her career to escape her alcoholic mother and the hometown where nothing good would ever happen to her Bryce stayed behind. Bryce was reckless and things didn't end well for her. Sam still feels guilty about abandoning her sister. She also abandoned Trevor, the boy she loved. She wanted him to come with her and he wanted her to stay. By leaving she broke Trevor's heart and he ended up in Bryce's arms.

Sam didn't think she'd ever see Trevor again, but when a girl in her early teen shows up on her doorstep she knows she can't let him walk out of her life again. Bryce and Trevor had a daughter and Sam didn't know, they never told her. Trevor doesn't want to have anything to do with Sam, because of their past and all of the hurt that was involved with it. However, he can't seem to stay away and his daughter wants to get to know her aunt. Maybe it's time to talk about what happened and work things out between them. Will Trevor and Sam have a second chance or is it better for them to stay out of each other's lives?

Tell Me Again is an emotional love story. Sam wanted to leave the awful life she had behind and her modeling career gave her a chance. She's a woman with a big heart and wanted to take her loved ones with her, but they refused and she went anyway. I felt sad for her because of everything that happened afterwards. She only knew part of Bryce's history and I couldn't believe how badly her sister betrayed her. Sam has a kind, forgiving nature and I admired the way she handles things. She's kind to Grace and will do anything for the niece she's only just met. At first Trevor doesn't want to give this special woman a chance, but when he spends more time with her he eventually sees the good in her as well. I kept hoping he'd open up more and be a little less guarded, so he'd treat her in a nicer way and couldn't turn the pages quickly enough to see where their story would lead.

Michelle Major has an easy flowing writing style. She writes about both love and friendship in a great vivid way. I liked the way she portrays her characters by giving them all sorts of interesting personality traits. They aren't perfect and that's exactly what makes them fascinating. Tell Me Again is a story about difficult decisions, family bonds and true love. It's a book about complex relationships, forgiveness and giving someone you love another chance. I really enjoyed reading this terrific romantic story.

I loved this one!! It's a wonderfully emotional story of a woman, Samantha Carlton, who had run far and hard from her old life leaving a twin sister, mother, and boyfriend behind. She had to get out of there though and neither her sister or boyfriend would come with her. Now she's shocked when a young girl knocks on her door claiming that Samantha is her mother. News to her!! There's no denying they are related though. The girl looks just like Samantha and the sister she left behind. What a way to meet your niece! And the crazy keeps coming when the girl's father turns out to be Samantha's old boyfriend Trevor. It's obvious immediately that the attraction and passion between the two is there but they are both so different now. Could anything ever really work out for them considering everything from the past.

This is a great story of forgiveness, family, and love. I highly recommend this one.

Sam and Trevor were inseparable as teens. Then she went off to the modeling world and escaping an otherwise miserable life. Years later his daughter shows up wanting to know if Sam is her mother. From there we go on a tumultuous ride of back and forth good times and bad times. Choices, second chances, regrets. A lot of emotions. How to make all three of them happy? Doesn't seem possible.

Story grabbed me from the first. And kept my attention all the way through. Very well written and I enjoyed it. Thanks to the author and NetGalley for a chance to read this one.

This book started off good but as it went on I liked it less. I just didn't care for the characters. Plus I found Sam and Trevor's relationship to be bad. She has a past that she clearly hasn't gotten over and he doesn't like sharing his daughter. Which made the whole thing a mess. Yes they got it together in the end but by then it was too late for me.

This is the first book I have read by this author. The book was sweet, no explicit sex scenes. Sam's story and everything she went through made me feel a connection with her. It was harder to feel a connection to Trevor who kept yo-yoing Sam around emotionally by being involved with her then distancing himself and emphasizing that Sam was not Grace's mother. Trevor never really explained how or why he hooked up with Grace's mother, and it seemed odd that Sam would be ok being involved with him after her that. Also, even though Trevor said he wasn't going to let her go again as soon a there was a conflict he drops Sam like a hot potato and leaves. The end of the story seemed a little too rushed for me, I didn't find it believable that Sam would forgive Trevor so easily after a month of silence and what he said to her. Overall, I give this book 4 out of 5 stars because it was a good sweet story about second chances.

I really enjoyed this emotion driven storyline featuring a second chance relationship between two people who have suffered through the consequences of a series of events that left them both shattered. Many years later, Samantha is still mourning the loss of her twin sister while she blames herself for not being able to change the course of events that led to her sister's death. This is a complicated storyline filled with emotional land mines that Sam, her niece Grace, and Grace's father Trevor have to navigate before they can heal from the tragedy of their shared past. My only criticism is that the book totally centers on the fallout from Sam and Trevor's shattered past, but fails to deal with the feelings and emotions of Trevor's motherless teenage daughter Grace. I think the book would greatly benefit from telling the story through all three character's eyes. I read a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

Way too self -deprecating

Goodness! Sam was painful to read. She had no growth what so ever, and everything bad happened was because she was genetically a bad...person? From her leaving, to her sister's death, to her modeling career, to her looks, to her camp...the list is endless. I like to read about growth in a character, someone who messes up, but figures it out without all the woe is me vibes. Then you got the fact that it was never really addressed about her boyfriend being with the sister. He acted like the victim and made selfish choices that impacted his daughter and her. I didn't like him. At all. But then again I didn't like her either. The story itself was cliche in spots, with no depth but a desire to create angst, unfortunately it was done badly. This is a huge miss.

The mistakes of the past impact the decisions of the future. Tell Me Again is a convoluted story of youth, betrayal and healing. Trevor and Sam have a complicated history that culminated in a trail of broken hearts and promises unkept. At the center of the heartbreaking drama lies Sam's choice to escape a traumatic childhood and create a better life for herself. That decision put into motion a chain of events that changed the lives of Trevor, her first love and Bryce, her twin sister. Years later, with a surprise visitor Sam comes face to face with her past. And a painful truth is revealed. Ms. Major has composed a haunting aria. Trevor, Bryce and Sam's sonata had more twists than a maze but the winding road was dramatic, emotional and worth the bumps along the way.

2 Disappointing Stars

When I first heard about this book, I couldn't have been more excited to read it. For one thing, I fell in love with the cover and the synopsis really peaked my interest. I found the idea of this story to be interesting and I really wanted to love it. I thought there was so much potential here, but in the end, it just fell short. There were just so many things that were hard for me to get past, and I couldn't stand the constant Sam bashing.

Sadly, this book just didn't work for me.

I just finished this one and I loved it! This book is second chance romance at it's best--it's both humorous and heartwarming and I couldn't put it down. I really enjoy Michelle Major's writings and Tell Me Again was no exception! It was so good. It's a funny and sweet second-chance love story with some great emotional depth to the characters. Sam and Trevor had great chemistry, and I was immediately pulled into rooting for them and their love story. The supporting cast added to the mix and I already can't wait for Jenny and Owen's book to come out!

Very good book, at times heartwrenchingly emotional and at others laugh out loud funny. It is a story of second chances, family and friendship, and learning how to trust again. Sam is a former model who used her chance at a modelling career to escape from a rough childhood. But along with the pain, she also left behind the boy she loved. Then one day her late sister's daughter tracks her down, a girl that Sam had no idea even existed. Sam desperately wants a chance to get to know Grace, but her father isn't so sure that's a good idea.

Trevor had loved Sam with all his boy's heart, but didn't go with her when she asked. Instead he turned to her sister for comfort, and ended up as a single dad when Bryce turned her back on them and resumed her wild ways. After her death he was determined to protect Grace from what the chaos around the Carlton women. But now that Grace has found Sam, he has to find a way to deal with it.

Their first encounter, when Trevor comes to get Grace from Sam's house, was really intense. Sam is rightfully hurt and angry at being kept in the dark about her niece's existence. She also discovers that the attraction she felt for Trevor is still there. As a father, Trevor is protective of his daughter, but also dealing with the feelings that seeing Sam again has raised. I ached for Sam as she realized how much of Grace's life she had already missed, and at the hurt she felt for the way she had been excluded. I loved seeing her stand up to Trevor and refuse to stay away from Grace.

Trevor finds he really has no choice about letting Grace get to know Sam, but he's determined to supervise it. He decides to do the renovation work at Sam's camp himself, while Grace spends time with Sam. This gives the attraction between he and Sam a chance to reignite, but Trevor also has to get past his preconceptions about what Sam's life has been like. I had some problems with Trevor's attitude, as he frequently threw Sam's past in her face, even though she has left that life behind. He would show some moment of sensitivity, then turn around and say something really hurtful.

I loved seeing the way that Sam had changed her life. After experiencing the highs and lows of a supermodel's life, she put it all behind her and started a camp for disadvantaged kids. She's putting her heart and soul into doing something good with the guilty feelings she has about her relationship with her sister. There's a heartbreaking scene dealing with one of the girls from her camp, and I cried right along with Sam. I loved the strength and compassion she showed during this section.

The relationship that grows between Sam and Trevor is one that does not run smoothly. Both of them have issues that must be overcome before they can have a future. Sam has trouble just believing that she deserves a chance to be happy. Trevor needs to learn to let go of his need to control everything that affects Grace, and also allow himself to have a life outside taking care of her. The memory of their former relationship is never far away and they find themselves falling back into that friendship pretty quickly. There are times that they are easy and comfortable with each other, as though nothing had ever come between them. Trevor can see the woman that Sam has become, likes her and is attracted to her. That Trevor is the one who sees Sam's distress and goes with her to a teen's funeral and is there to support her. There are other times that something sets off Trevor's fears and he strikes at Sam with hurtful words about her past. He usually knows he is being a jerk, but does it anyway. He's always sorry afterwards, but honestly, I want to smack him when it happens. The feelings between them deepen, and Sam is ready to tell him how she feels when a crisis involving Grace occurs. Trevor's reaction is protective of Grace, but vicious toward Sam and I hurt for her. Her devastation is exceeded only by her determination to protect Grace, and the lengths she goes to are extraordinary. I thought that Trevor deserved every bit of the guilt he felt, and that Sam may have let him off the hook a little too easily. I loved how Sam came out of it stronger and more confident in herself, ready to let go of the past and move forward.

The supporting characters of the story were wonderful. First and foremost was Grace. She has a good relationship with her father, but she's also hit the age where she needs a woman in her life. It was fun to see Trevor's confusion when trying to deal with some of her actions. I loved seeing her connect with Sam and how quickly the bond between them grew. There were several really fun scenes between her and Sam, such as the dress-up one. Trevor's reaction is a typical father's when he realizes that his daughter is growing up, and he manages to put his foot in his mouth anyway. I thought she dealt with the trouble at the end far better than Trevor did. I also enjoyed seeing her call out Trevor for his treatment of Sam.

Sam's friends Kendall, Jenny and Chloe were wonderful. I loved how they were always there to support her, and how protective they were also. I liked the scene where all three arrived to check Trevor out and warn him that he'd better treat her right. I think Jenny was my favorite, with her blunt statements and refusal to back down on her opinions. It was also fun when Kendall's and Chloe's men also put in their two cents worth. Sam's reaction to both was fantastic, and though she fussed, I think she also appreciated the motivation behind it. I can't wait to read their stories, now that I know about them.

I liked the premise of this book. I loved exploring the relationship Samantha had with her twin, which was tight but dysfunctional. I appreciated the history that Trevor and Samantha shared.
Trevor is not my favorite hero of this series though. Yes, as a single dad he operates in the "I must do all things to protect my daughter" mode. Yet many of his decisions are fear based. He makes progress then moves backwards so much the reader really struggles with whether he has actually grown or not. This makes Samantha's easy trust every time he assures her of his change something that is tough to swallow.

When reading an interconnected series, my biggest pet peeve is usually when the timelines are discordant. This book had an issue I have never run into before in a series. I realize it is a small thing but I found it jarring and more irritating because it seemed like something that should have been so simple. In book 2 of the series, Ben's niece and nephew, though secondary characters, play a large role in the story. Their names were Abby and Zach. In this book they make a few appearances, but are rather awkwardly named Claire and Austin. I am not sure how someone never caught this error, but I found it very annoying.

This story is good but could have been better with a stronger hero, better development of the relationship between Grace and Samantha, and more care by the author/editor to maintain series consistency.

I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This in no way alters my opinion of the work.

This book was kind of funny. The main characters are in their early thirties (I think), but it felt like I was reading about a couple of 17-year-olds. It was really just a YA novel with YA characters in "adult" situations, haha. Does that make sense?

There was nothing necessarily wrong with the story. The romance was kind of cute. I'm just a little bit over reading about these ridiculously good-looking people with outrageously sad histories and family problems. I'm sure there are real people like this out there, but I'm simply not interested in reading about them anymore.

Predictability aside, the book was fairly fast-paced and easy to read. I still wanted to know how it would end (even though there were no surprises), and I did manage to finish the book in one sitting. That's saying something.

Tell Me Again was not my cup of tea. Or maybe it was, but there was a little too much milk and not enough sugar?

tough pills to swallow

We all go through things in life that we must learn to grow through.

I wouldn’t say the book was filled with verbal abuse, but there was a lot of verbal attacks on the female main character and in seemed like her past was thrown in her face at every opportunity; even though both parties weren’t innocent in their behavior. If we live a life where our past is constantly thrown in our face and we aren’t given the opportunity to flourish and learn, we can stay stagnant. Luckily the main character (Sam) was able to fight battles all on her own and didn’t need a hero to come in fighting. I wish this story would have focused more on their individual accomplishments and their goals as a couple. The last few pages don’t make up for it being centered around unforgiving, unapologetic, narcissistic men that place unrealistic conditions on women they supposedly love.

Former super model Samantha Carlton and her ex-high school boyfriend Trevor reuinte in this contemporary romance based in Colorado. Oh, and did I mention Trevor had a baby with Samantha's twin sister while she was gone? Because he totally did.

To be fair, this isn't the type of book I usually read, but I did find this entertaining and light-hearted. Sam and Trevor go through the usual will-they-won't they and then break up and get back together dance you'd expect. Grace, Trevor's 13-year-old daughter, is an unexpected delight, as she seems to be the only one who doesn't have a problem with her aunt and her father hooking up.

If you like this type of book, I'd highly recommend it. I actually had to put it down for a week or so while I had other obligations in life and had no trouble picking it back up and falling back into the story.

I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

The story
Sam is a former model, who lives in Denver and runs a summer camp for disadvantaged teens in the nearby Rocky Mountains. When Grace is waiting in her living room one evening, she discovers that her late twin sister Bryce had a daughter with her boyfriend Trevor. Grace brings San and Trevor back together, but the getting there is a troubled route.

My thoughts
Second chances romances can be painful when the reasons for the breakup haven’t really gone away and there is still anger and unresolved issues. Sam and Trevor seem to glide back into a relationship easier than one would expect given their protestations 😳 and the presence of a niece and daughter. This is the third book in this series, where each of the group of girl friends gets their own happily ever after.

The excerpt was so good and it became the reason why I wanted to read this book but this book disappointed me. The Hero was not likeable and he had so many mood swings. The heroine deserved someone so much better.
Out of 5 Star;
Hero-Trevor: 1 Star; The only thing good about him was that he was a good father
Heroine-Sam: 4 Star
Secondary character (see below);
Grace-Hero's daughter and heroine's niece: 3 Star
Heat level between Hero/heroine: 2 Star
Overall book: 2 Star; Hero was never redeemed in my opinion. Also, his backstory with heroine's sister was poorly written. Also, his judgement toward heroine was pathetic.

Could have been better

Would have given this 5 stars if the author would not have let the pictures of Sam be publicized. A better ending that did not hurt the heroine would have made more sense. It was terrible that she let the pictures out to protect her niece and Trevor let his daughter in the spotlight anyway. It was a senseless soiling of all the good Sam had done in her life. It was such a terrible secret and something that should not have been let out. Everyone,, including the kids she cared about would be looking up naked pictures of her.. Otherwise great story.

Good and....

Loved this book. The first two in the series for me kind of dragged, but this one was entertaining. Sweet, fun and a quick read. However, I had difficulty getting over the name changes of Chloe and Ben's niece and nephew...who does that? I was having significant challenges with that and almost stopped reading the book as a result. Not cool!...and a sure way to drive binge readers crazy!

First I will state that am a romance fan and regardless of liking the story I will admit that I hated Trevor.
Overprotecting parents only create really good liars and he was a complete asshole to Sam in no way was she responsible for her sister choices in life and him sleeping with her and she did, wish she would had end up with the music professor anyone else but him.
I normally wouldn’t care so much for fictional characters but Trevor certainly was one helluva ASS

Trevor Kincaid was an AWFUL hero. He kept turning on Sam, and then apologizing. There's a big blow up at the end and he has a 'revelation' of sorts, but it feels NO different than all of the other times he's made an ass of himself and then apologized. I have no faith in the HEA at the end because I don't believe that he'll be any different the next time something happens to make him doubt Sam. Ugh. She deserves better!

A very real story of how events in the past can cause problems in others lives. This book had well developed characters. Enough of the back story for the reader to understand why and how current events were happening! I would definitely purchase books by Michelle Major in the future. I received an advance copy from Netgalley.com in exchange for my honest review.
