This series is quick and dirty (in the best way possible).
Damian and Pete are next-door neighbors who have always competed with one another. That kind of "frenemies" relationship translates into sexual tension galore. So now they're fuck buddies, and rather intense ones at that.
Damian likes being in control. He is all Dom. And Pete is his (bratty) sub. (Think BDSM lite.)
Consequences crosses the boundary from all sex to ... more. Pete meets Damian's large family and actually fits in! Huh.
Of course, there's sizzling bedroom action too. These men burn up the page! Tantalus writes amazing sex. Trust me on this.

This was so not what I expected after the first two books!
Once again Damon's got Pete on edge as he's waiting for the consequences of what he pulled on Damon in After. Damon is making him wait, and wait, but finally he contacts Pete and Pete is ready for whatever deliciously dirty punishment Damon gives him.... or is he? Turns out neither of them was really ready for what was about to happen.
This one made me laugh and then turned my expectations upside down as we see a new, sweet and sexy side of Damon and a promise of more to come. Damon in leather? Yes please. Is it too much to hope there may be a leash in the future? Folsom Street Fair here we come!

Scorching hot but with a background narrative which cleverly weaves the insanely sexy scenes into the slow build development of a relationship between two next-door neighbours.

I thought this would be another short story with a just a long, hot sex scene. Not what I got! It was the extra character building, a surprise dinner and a hot, passionate sex scene. The cherry was a lovely HFN for a complete story. Tantalus, aka K.C. Wells, brings her skills to a trio of much more erotic scenes than we typically see from this author. I would dearly love to see a longer, more complete novel in this same style. Maybe with some stronger kink and more playroom action!

First things first. While I label Consequences a short story, calling this the third instalment in a serial would have been just as accurate. There are no two ways about it, if you are going to read Consequences, you’ll have to read Summer Heat and After first. Not that I think that would be a hardship, mind you.
To say Consequences surprised me would be an understatement. This book takes the story in a direction neither Pete nor this reader expected. Then again, I’m not sure even Damon saw this coming when he set events in motion in the first book, Summer Heat.
I really don’t want to say too much about it, because the surprise I got was one of the things I really loved about this book. I’m always delighted when I think I know where a book will be taking me, only for the story to go in a different direction altogether. The first half of this instalment most definitely did that.
Of course there were also parts to this story that were exactly what I expected them to be. This is once again a very hot, sensual and sexy tale. Damon sure knows how to create explosive heat between himself and Pete, just as he is an expert at keeping both the reader and Pete guessing as to what he might be up to this time.
What I like best about the way this tale is unfolding is that despite it being an erotic tale, the two main characters are definitely taking shape, both on the page and in my imagination. They are by now far more than just two hot bodies coming together. Instalment by instalment we get to know Pete and Damon better and I have to say, I like what I’m seeing.
I’m overjoyed that the author has already started on the next chapter in Damon and Pete’s ongoing saga. I’ll impatiently wait until the moment I’ll be able to spend more time with these two sexy men.

Man these two. Each little novellas gets better and better. I was cracking up again at the Hijinks with these two. But with this one, the tables have turned on Damon and things are rapidly changing into something Pete wasn't quite sure of. But they are getting closer and it's so good to see how things turning out. You guys should read this series. So good.

I always look forward to seeing what the next payback will be! Pete is on edge after the latest payback, but Damon has something totally different in mind. I loved that Damon brought Pete It's starting to get serious with these two. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Aspettavo con ansia di poter leggere il terzo racconto di questa serie, ma Tantalus stavolta è riuscita veramente a sorprendermi. Mi aspettavo un altro racconto erotico, puro e semplice, invece mi sono trovata di fronte a un inaspettato passo avanti in questa particolare relazione.
Pete freme nell'attesa della punizione che sicuramente Damon gli infliggerà dopo quello che ha fatto l'ultima volta che si sono incontrati, ma dopo averlo fatto aspettare a lungo, Damon non fa altro che portarlo a una cena di famiglia.
Pete come me è piuttosto sorpreso da questo cambio di direzione nella loro storia, che apparentemente era di solo sesso, ma che forse sta diventando qualcosa di molto più profondo.
Naturalmente stiamo pur sempre parlando di un erotico e dopo la cena non mancherà la parte hot, molto diversa da quella dei racconti precedenti; è sempre estremamente sexy e mai volgare, ma tutta la scena è molto più romantica e ci lascia intendere che il loro rapporto stia evolvendo in qualcosa di diverso e più profondo.
Il racconto è breve, quindi non posso dirvi di più, ma come tutti i libri di questa bravissima autrice è ben scritto e devo dire anche ben tradotto, i personaggi cominciano a essere maggiormente caratterizzati e la storia inizia a prendere forma con una svolta veramente interessante.
Non vedo l'ora di avere il prossimo racconto della serie tra le mani per scoprire come evolverà ancora questa particolarissima relazione.

✔ Letto! In attesa della vendetta di Damon, Pete si reca a un appuntamento con lui senza sapere cosa aspettarsi. Non avrebbe mai sospettato di poter conoscere la sua famiglia e molto meno la sua mamma in occasione del suo compleanno.
Le cose fra i due sono cambiate, la relazione è cambiata, ma senza togliere niente al fuoco che brucia tra di loro.
Le cose si fanno serie e nuovi impegni saranno presi.

This series gets better with each installment and this is my favorite one so far. I love the surprises in this story and how Pete and Damon's relationship is evolving. Damon has a unique way of paying Pete back for what he did in After (Book 2). I can't wait to see what happens next and I look forward to reading the next book in this amazing series.

Adesso tocca a Damon e Pete non vede l’ora di essere alla sua merce, le cose però prendono da subito una piega inaspettata e diversa. Terzo capitolo della serie, in cui si trova una sfumatura di dolcezza nel rapporto tra i due, che mi è piaciuta molto.
