When quantum physics professor Roland is found dead in Sibyl’s house next to a half-eaten sundae, the detectives pin Sibyl as the prime suspect when evidence is found that implicates her! Along with Mr. Buttons, starts , Sibyl starts investigating to solve the murder and to find out who tried to frame her.

I love this series, always a light read and full of lively characters (Mr Buttons is in fine form in this one!) and great plots. As always, there's some real laugh-out-loud moments, and as always, it's usually Mr. Buttons, by far my most favorite character in this series (the false eyelashes had me rolling, as did the dinner Cressida and Sibyl "cooked".) The ending was soooo satisfying and Mr. Buttons finally got his greatest wish! (heh heh)

Another great read in this series and another spot filled on my r/CozyMystery Book Bingo card.

One of Cressida's newest guest, Dr. Roland Cavandish is a quantum physicist. He is a womanizer who openly flirts with everything in a skirt and had notified his wife who was with him that his mistress would be joining them.
Sybil invites the wife over for an icecream sundae for later the next day to try and cheer her up.
While Sybil and Mr. Buttons took an early morning walk to exercise Sandi (a labrador), upon returning, Sandy started growling and barking at the door. Sybil goes into the home to find Roland dead in her kitchen eating a sundae.
Now, Sybil is once again the prime suspect for a murder. So she, Cressida, and Mr. Buttons had to investigate to clear her name.

Another great story from the frozen Australian town of Little Tatterford during a harsh winter. Well developed characters, and a strong plot line.

Obviously, I loved the mystery. But I have to tell you that I have learned so much about Australia from reading these books. Like that the older houses in the mountains aren't really designed for some of the wintry weather, or that sleet is common but snow is not, or that the rural mail service is as messed up as it is in Wisconsin. But we came for the fun and the sleuthing, and there is nothing to disappoint. The characters are as astounding as ever, including all of the new ones. If you haven't been lucky enough to read the others in this series, it's never too late. Each is fully stand-alone, but I think that you miss out on so much fun by not reading all of them.

While I didn't find this series as entertaining as the author's Witch Woods Funeral Home series, it was a readable series for when I want more of a lighter reading session.

This is the 5th book in the Australian Amateur Sleuth series. I didn't read the first 4 because I saw books 5 and 6 at a garage sale over the summer and grabbed them.

Because this book has no witches, werewolves, or other supernatural creatures, I found it less entertaining than I thought I would, given that I loved the Author's series.

Thankfully, it was easy to understand the incidents that had gone before, so figuring out who was who and the plot of the book(s) was quite easy.

Sibil's ex-husband is now in prison for trying to kill her. But now a murder takes place and interferes in Sibil's life. Three of the characters from former books are the lead characters, Sibil, Cressida, Mr. Buttons, and Sibil's boyfriend, Blake.

The story itself is well-written and the plot keeps you guessing. The characters all have unique personalities and are also well-written. As I explained above, my issue with the series is that it is s a cozy mystery and not a cozy supernatural mystery. :)

Little has changed in Little Tatterford, except that Sybil has finally received her post divorce settlement. When a pompous guest of Cressida's newest guest Dr. Roland Cavendish, a quantum physicist, is found dead in Sybil's cabin, and the police are (once again) on the wrong trail, it's up to Sibyl and Mr. Buttons to save the day. Honorable mentions to Blake, Sandy, Max and Lord Farringdon for their help.

Biggest complaint, it seems that Sybil’s dream premonitions are completely gone, at this point. Really it's a pity, because it was a fun element to the story. Overall, an enjoyable, if predictable mystery. I still enjoy all the quirky characters and their interactions. This was found another light, entertaining, cozy and fun read.

Book #5 in the Australian Amateur Sleuth Series continues to prove there’s never a dull moment in Little Tatterford. Especially when you have Sibyl, Cressida, Mr. Buttons, Blake, Sandy, Max and Lord Farringdon involved.

Oh my, another murder, but this time it just happens to occur at Sibyl’s instead of the boarding house. All of a sudden Sibyl becomes the prime suspect.

This series is such an easy read. These books are laugh out loud funny, entertaining and educational if you don’t know anything about Australia.

If you haven’t started reading this series yet, you need to!

Another fun-filled cosy mystery, I really love this series! Maybe not so much the fact that Sybil is a suspect in this case, but I love the banter between characters.

And good for

I think I remember that in this book, Sybil’s premonitions are completely gone. Such a pity because it was such a cool element.

A note is needed regarding Amy Soakes, the audiobook narrator. She is great! It definitely makes for a fun listening experience.

Mr Buttons is insufferable but for once he’s right🤣🤣 when Sybil finds the dead body of a womanizing boarder in her cottage, she becomes prime suspect #1. Never mind that she hated the guy, but it seems someone is determined to set her up for the crime. Sybil and Mr. Buttons are determined to solve the murder before she’s railroaded into jail. Another quick, mystery, pretty formularistic, and I guessed the killer pretty early, however, it’s a cute time waster.

Enjoyed this installment in the Australian Amateur Sleuth series....and this time the title was actually related to some of the content! Wow! This is a really light series with characters who have lots of quirks, but I enjoy them. I get a bit tired of the repetition of some elements, but that's often the case in these series when the author has to assume people might not read them in order.

once again murder is on the menu and Sybil and the crew at the boardinghouse are right in the middle of it. These are cute fun quick reads/listens. Mr. Buttons is finally totally convinced that the cook Dorothy is a murderer as he has always maintained, the police are once again on the wrong track so Sybil is looking into finding out who has killed the latest victim....

This is a great book; this is the fifth book in the Australian Amateur Sleuth series written by Morgana Best. Sibyl Potts has finally been awarded her long-awaited property settlement, and her ex-husband has been sentenced for her attempted murder. Yet just as all seems well in her world, the body of one of Cressida’s boarders is found in her cottage next to a half-eaten ice cream sundae. When all the evidence points to Sibyl as the culprit, she is determined to put her sleuthing skills to the test once again to find out what really happened. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
