Still not my favourite arc! But, hey! A thousand-year blood war is looming😁

The ending in this arc was epic and the battle scenes were exceptional.

My favourite part: Byakuya! Welcome back, my darling soul reaper.

Yes, he is my favourite🤣

I still thought this arc was a joke, but there are a few 'truths'. See you in the blood war.

rating of the last 3 omnibus volumes:
Vol. #16: ★★★☆☆
Vol. #17: ★★★☆☆
Vol. #18: ★★★☆☆

I was a bit bored with this arc. It feels a bit filler-y. It's not bad but it's only a bridge between Aizen and the final arc.
I like Rukia's dessign tho

The Fullbring arc was okay, not bad, but definitely not at the same level of the Arrancar arc. I do like the idea of the powers, but it just didn’t feel flushed out enough.

incoherent and inessential. i did enjoy kenpachi and ikkaku showing up, ignoring their opponents' lengthy speeches, and one-shotting them — a great metaphor for this terrible storyline!

with this volume i am officially caught up to where i quit reading back in the day, so i think starting with the next volume it's new! exciting.

Hype moments and aura farming abound! The spread of the new Getsuga Tensho cutting above Ginjo's head, for example!!!

Anyway, the Lost Agent Arc has ended. I guess it works well enough that this was the last canon material the anime adapted until over a decade later. Ginjo ends up being something of a mirror to Ichigo, including getting Getsuga Tensho, but he lacks the Power of Friendship so he becomes a bad guy. Or, well, he had the Power of Friendship to some degree, but it is far more limited than Ichigo's; Ichigo can allow himself to trust all the Shinigami after learning the truth of the Deputy Badge, which is where Ginjo fails.

This arc is also an interesting experiment because of how short it is. I said this last volume already, but it's still true. Kubo can write a tidy story in six volumes, if he wants to. And there are still a good amount of fights. And all of the fighters on both sides feel "justified": Orihime, Chad, Uryu, and Rukia have been around since the first arc, but haven't always had the chance to shine; all the allied Shinigami beside Toshiro were Ichigo's opponents in the Soul Society Arc; all the enemy Fullbringers are considered roughly "equal," or at least below Ginjo and Tsukishima as the "final bosses" - there aren't as many tiers in the hierarchy as there were in Aizen's army, for example. But... well, the next arc in the manga will be twenty volumes long, so... I guess Kubo didn't love writing a shorter story...?

By the way, Akutami Gege totally stole Hakari's power from Shishigawara here.

****

Volume 52: Ginjo pretends to be a bad guy to get Ichigo angry and trick him into completing his Fullbring. Ginjo predicts Ichigo's Fullbring should cause his Shinigami powers to return and fuse with the Fullbring powers. Ichigo goes home after training, to find Tsukishima hypnotized his sisters into seeing him as a cousin. Tsukishima hits Ichigo's school friends, his boss, and all Xcution members aside from Ginjo. Ginjo theorizes Tsukishima's new ability is to "mark" himself in the memory of someone he stabs. Ginjo and Ichigo go after Tsukishima, but Chad and Orihime come to assist him. Ichigo fights Tsukishima, Orihime, and Chad while Ginjo fights the Xcution members plus Shishigawara (whose Fullbring is Jackpot Knuckle). Ginjo takes a hit from Tsukishima to protect Ichigo. Uryu arrives at the scene, revealing the one who attacked him was Ginjo. Ginjo had Tsukishima cut him earlier to help disguise their alliance, and was awakened when taking the blow for Ichigo. Ginjo steals Ichigo's Fullbring powers. Isshin, Urahara, and Rukia appear. Ichigo regains his Shinigami powers in a new form. Volume end.

Volume 53: Rukia, Renko, Byakuya, Toshiro, Kenpachi, and Ikkaku all put their power into restoring Ichigo's abilities. Also, Shinji, Rangiku, Unohana, Hanataro (lmao why?), Isshin, Urahara, Yoruichi (who doesn't even use a Zanpakuto anymore...), and Yamamoto. Turns out Ginjo was the first Deputy Shinigami. Ginjo shares Ichigo's stolen power with Xcution. Toshiro vs. Yukio, Ikkaku vs. Shishigawara, Byakuya vs. Tsukishima, Kenpachi vs. Giriko. Kenpachi one-shots Giriko with ease. Ichigo and Uryu vs. Ginjo. Rukia vs. Riruka. Renji vs. Jackie. All trueborn Shinigami win their fights by the end of the volume except for the Kikuchi siblings. Riruka turns Rukia into a plushie. Volume end.

Volume 54: We see brief flashbacks of the lesser Xcution members' origins. Byakuya defeats Tsukishima. Rukia seemingly defeats Riruka. Ginjo tries to throw Ichigo off by telling him the Deputy Badge is designed to monitor and control him, but Ichigo doesn't mind and activates a new Bankai. Ginjo activates Bankai as well, which is also a transformation like Ichigo's. Turns out the Captains were sent to see how Ichigo would react to the knowledge that he was being watched to make sure he doesn't follow Ginjo (and also act as bait to draw Ginjo out). Ichigo defeats Ginjo. Tsukishima comes back to sneak-attack Ichigo, Rukia jumps in to defend him, and Riruka pops out of her chest to take the blow. Tsukishima either dies off-page or is just helped by Shishigawara. Yukio and Jackie survive. Ichigo asks to bury Ginjo on Earth instead of in Soul Society. He keeps the Deputy Badge on purpose. Riruka jumps away. Volume end. Thousand-Year Blood War next.

The end of The Lost Agent Arc story. Ichigo will be betrayed! The Xcution crew will battle! And... the return of familiar faces from the Soul Society. I can't but say that this is probably the worst arc story ever written. While to me, reading the betrayal part to Ichigo might turn heads, its just felt too weak in the plot and the battle sequences is just rehash on previous chapters. While this explains about the Deputy Badge Soul Reaper meaning, it doesn't give importance of it why this arc should be told. Next - Thousand-Year Blood War arc... but I already read them so doubt will re-read them.

Honestly, I really don't care much about any people from the new crew, not even Ginjo, but in the grand scheme of things, all where more or less necessary to the end result so…
Anyways, it great that this step didn’t take longer because who wants to read about a depressed Ichigo?

It was lovely how in the end everyone pitched in for Ichigo.

Great volumes, especially 54.

Although undeniably filled with some feel good, satisfactory slap downs, I was left ultimately dissatisfied by the culmination of the Full Bring arc. It felt flat, uninspired and was highly uninteresting.

perhaps one of the most uninteresting filler arcs i have ever read in my life, if you wanted 'friendship overrules all' these 6 volumes are essentially it in a nutshell- it was interesting to see ichigo being weak for once so that was a nice change in pace for the manga

That didn't last very long.
And like...why bring out Ichigo's Fullbringer whatever only to take it away and now he's a soul reaper again and like...was there a point?

I guess the only real progress/change is the deputy soul reaper badge has more meaning? kinda?
idk...

Not my favorite arc or group of characters, but it had a somewhat satisfying end? I don't know what the purpose was, but it is nice seeing old characters back.
