This novel is the sequel to "The Girl Who Lived in the House by the Hill" which was reissued as "Beebs of the Berkshires" in a second edition. It continues the story of Beatrice Francis Convey who "lived alone in a small white house by the rambling Housatonic River in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts." It is November and nineteen year old Beebs is sitting at her writing desk enjoying a cup of tea in the early morning hours. Outside in the darkness is "hoarfrost so fresh she wanted to bundle it in her scarf and hang it on a hook by the door." In four hours she will be waiting tables next door at Tom's Place but for now she is alone with her writing. This book contains many of Beebs' Gram stories from her series "When Gram Rocked." Enter Beebs' poignant and poetic world; you will not want to leave.
