Kevin Tumlinson is a thriller and speculative fiction author traveling the U.S. with his wife, an RV, a chihuahua named Mini, and a fully-loaded laptop. He writes multi-million-dollar blockbusters that can be read for only a few bucks.

Kevin grew up in Wild Peach Texas—an actual village wedged between the Brazos and San Bernard Rivers, with a population of less than 2,500 people and seemingly not a peach tree within a hundred miles of the place. He has had an eclectic career that includes engineering, teaching, broadcasting and media, and marketing. He has also been the recipient of numerous awards for writing, public speaking, and his work in advertising and marketing.

At the moment, Kevin—along with his wife and his dog—are traveling full-time in an RV, exploring the US as Kevin writes and promotes his books. The inside joke is that they are going on the worlds most far-ranging house hunt. They're only half joking.

I have read all of the books bundled in this omnibus collection.

For fans of Kevin Tumlinson’s Thriller genre series, well worth taking a peek at the author’s earlier works of SciFi.

The Citidel trilogy got me interested, and the complete body of books made me a die-hard fan, even when Kevin switched genres. [Oh, the SciFi Short Story called Chauna’s Forest is missing, introduced on his website only.]

Look for bargain pricing! You can often get the Collection for the price of a single book.

"The universe had a sadistic sense of humour",

Light Years: The Official Science Fiction Library (Kindle Edition)

I received a review copy of this science fiction compendium by Kevin Tumlinson. And what a good collection it is. Comprising of the complete three novel Citadel series plus numerous shorter stories, this package is excellent value. For those unfamiliar with Me.Tumlinson's work, he writes with an easy to read, immediate style with sufficient characterisation to allow the reader to care for his protagonist's and his descriptive passages are visual, creating a heightened sense of atmosphere. The first novel in the book, and the start of the Citadel saga, for example, throws us right into the heart of the turmoil created as crew members are woken from cryogenic sleep into the panic of disaster about to befall their space shuttle, which was designed to convey hundreds of colonists to a new home planet. The fear as they resign themselves to the very possible destruction of their crafts and their own lives is tangible. What happens next is both realistic and extraordinary .
But the stories do not rely on good tradecraft alone. They are imaginative and, at times, thought provoking, staying in the reader's head after this library of books is completed. An excellent way to enter the creative world of Tumlinson's good science fiction. Definitely recommended

Warning! I had to sit down and read this books for four days straight because I could not put it down. After the exciting three episodes of "The Citadel," I gobbled up the short stories. What makes this collection unique is Tumlinson's story-telling ability. He has everything in balance, beautiful language, a brilliant imagination and the ability to create characters that are unique and endearing, whether human or alien. He has a rare combination of talents that make him a great author for everyone. I tried my best to find any negatives, and the only thing I found was "due" instead of "do" in the first episode of "The Citadel." That's remarkable in over 1800 pages of brilliant story-telling

Little Packages With Big Surprises

This book is packaged with Herat and great big surprises. This is truly a great piece of work. Not only do you get the wonderful story of Citadel, which it's a full course meal, you get desserts, yes you get more than one dessert. The Citadel story is amazing, the detail and facts that went into this story and the characters only leaves you wanting more and the stories at the end gives you just that.
Living in outer space with people who have personal motives to satisfy with no regards for the well being of the society. But than there are those who look out for all and among them is an alien. This is a great story and every should read it.
