From scooters to yachts, from ambulances to rockets, this book takes the reader on a tour of the different types of vehicles as they go through the alphabet.
This catchy, read-aloud book combines to favorite picture book themes: an ABC book and a vehicle book. The illustrations are full page and very colorful. The author uses both repetition and rhyme to keep this vehicle book revving.
Supported by lively illustrations featuring vehicles that dig and those that move us and our materials from place to place, this ABC book won't stay on the bookshelf for very long. It uses lots of action verbs and description to highlight modes of transportation and working and recreational vehicles such as an icebreaker, a recycling truck, and even a yacht. This one helps youngsters learn the letters of the alphabet in a fun and engaging way--and what could be more motivating than that? Plus, youngsters will be thrilled ot see some of their favorite vehicles featured on the book's pages.
I think this is an okay ABC book. I say that because I would recommend many other ABC books before this one. Of course this still works and could teach kids their ABC's and help them read. In the book however not every letter/word begins with the alphabet letter. This could be confusing for kids and learn more sounds rather than th alphabet and making connections letter wise.
Overall I do like the pictures that are included and how they make word connections but I do believe their is a lot better ABC books out there.
Trucks and tractors, fire engines and helicopters- all work hard. But after a long, happy day of beeping and vrooming, all engines need to rest. This bright, noisy book brings together vehicles that children love. Reviewer 4
This is a perfectly good abc title about all types of machines and some modes of transportation. It is the title that bothers me for it set me up to deduct that from A to Z I was about to view an abc about various types of digging machines. I recommend a title change.
Are there vehicles for every letter of the alphabet? Yes, plus onomatopoeia, bright illustrations, and an enriched understanding of things that go, the world over.
