A cure has been found for both the Infection and Vampirism, and Porschia Grant must take this news out of the colony. Between her friends volunteering to go with her and a well-planned route, the first journey should be easy. But when they make it to Mountainside, things are strange. The people are frightened of female night-walkers and won’t say why.
When the excursion takes a wrong turn, Porschia’s friends make a decision that will impact the rest of their lives. They expect to save Porschia from the evil contained in The Manor; they don’t expect to have to save her from herself.
When everything goes wrong, who will be left to pick up the pieces and save Ford from a threat no one could have seen coming?
What will happen when they risk everything to save one?
RONE Award-winning author Casey Bond lives on a rural farm in West Virginia with her husband and their two beautiful daughters. She writes phoenixes – gloriously flawed and morally gray characters that fiercely rise from the ashes of their circumstances.
Worldbuilding is one of her favorite pastimes. She thinks thunderstorms are better than coffee and that watching a meteor shower is the closest thing to magic you might ever see. She’s a firm believer that every amazing book needs a world you want to wrap yourself in, a character you want to win, and a love you would fight for.
Casey is the author of When Wishes Bleed, Gravebriar, House of Eclipses, and Where Oceans Burn.
Have mercy! Casey Bond is killing me softly! Between the death and destruction, this installment hit me hard. I saw a new side to both Porchia and Mercedes. My girl Porchia is RUTHLESS when need be. Mercedes true colors came through and I find that I don't like her much.
This series as a whole is fantastic. I highly recommend it.
Friction begins right where Frequency left off. Porschia, Tage, Mercedes, Roman and Saul head out to share the news of a cure with the other colonies. Sounds simple, right? Well let me tell you things couldn't go more crazy and wrong. Author Casey Bond had me revelling in the insanity of Porschia's wrath and the depths at which these characters will go to protect each other. Magnificent!!!
Of course Tage is as sexy and naughty as ever and I seriously cannot live without him. "My God, that sight would never get old. He was strong, virile, and bloody, and he smelled so good." Ahh! (*clears throat)
It's so exciting to watch as each of our main characters continue to grow and change. That's one of the things that really pulled me to this series to begin with and I am overjoyed that they each continue to evolve. Especially Porschia who has to learn to live with being incurable, and not fully a zombie or night-walker. She fights with the rage, hunger and knowledge that she will never be human again. Her strength and courage is the backbone to this series! Roman quotes Shakespeare and I think it describes her perfectly, "Though she be but little, she is fierce."
This series just keeps getting more exciting and just darn amazing! I can't say enough good things about Friction and the Frenzy Series. Grab a copy, sit back and be ready to go into a reading "frenzy".
This is book 4 in the Frenzy series. One I've been "patiently" waiting for. Casey has done it again with this one!! She knows how to please her readers and leave them begging for the next one!!
We start this one with Tage, Porschia, and Roman heading out to let the other colonies know about the cure, of course they have a tag along in Saul. The first place they come across has something different than the colony...something missing but the question is, is that helpful to them or hurtful...
When they come to another colony things are definitely not what they expected...of course this series thrives on the drama and unknown...which always leaves Porschia the one in trouble!! This also causes a drastic decision to be made by a few of them.
“Run, Tage. Please,” I said to him, motioning to my stomach. His eyes fastened on the metal wrapped around me.
Porschia has decided to make a decision that has made her question everything about herself, plus has caused a major issue with Tage.
This isn’t going to end well. Surely even you can see that coming from a mile away. Can you smell the blood yet?
This was yet another amazing read by Casey!! It leaves you wanting the next one! It leaves you with a bunch of questions with quite a few things happening that could not end not well at all.
Casey bond has outdone herself with friction! The frenzy series is such a remarkable story, I devoured every word. When I heard there was a book 4, I lost every once of patience I process. Friction was out of this world amazing! I loved the tension between sisters, the jealousy between the men both human and night walker, and all the different twists the story took. The ending had me losing my mind! And not a cliche at all despite all the different supernatural characters included. The authors writing style is captivating and descriptive enough to make you picture the world she created in your head! The characters from books 1-3 continued to develop while some new ones were introduced! Friction is not a book you want to overlook!
The 4th and possibly the best in the series yet! This installment takes you on even more twists and turns! Not your typical vampire series that's for sure! I can't wait to see where the next book in the series takes us because this one leaves us hanging on the edge...
This series is just pretty amazing. Casey's take on vamps and zombies is epic. this is a series that deserves to be sitting on your shelf. Each book takes off right where you were left. I can't say they get better with each book because well they are all pretty damn awesome. They are exciting to read and very hard to put down. Always with Bonds books you may think you know what is gonna happen but you are so wrong. The curves she throws at you... Tage, Porschia, Saul and Mercedes I really love all these characters. I am so excited to get the 5th book but super sad it is supposed to be the final book in the series.
Another great installment in the Frenzy series! This one hooks you in from the beginning and the exploration of the characters in a deeper way is excellent! Can’t wait to sink my teeth into Fraud and plow my way through Forever Frenzy. Casey must be half vampire since she’s so addictive 😋
How can it keep getting better & more intense?!? I can’t stop wanting to know what is coming next. I thought I had it figured out ... where this was going ... but I was wrong!!! The plot thickens & the characters continue to evolve keeping me guessing. Onto to the next book right now!
First how can she forgive Roman for everything he had a part in but not Saul? And Mercedes what does she have to be angry at Porschia for she should get over herself. And ah shit Roman found out the truth about his brother I knew Porschia should have told him to begin with now she doesn't even know she's in danger from him.
So many twists and turns! Casey sure knows how to keep her readers on their toes. This one ended in another cliffy. I am so happy these are on KU and I can read one right after the other.
Wonderful installment in this series. It was fast paced, action packed, and added a few new elements to the storyline. I really loved the issues our main character went through and how she overcame them.
Once again Casey Bond sucks me into her post apocalyptic world of Infected vs Vampires and all the humans the life hangs in the balance of these two damned creatures and their fight to abolish the sickness that plagues them. In Friction, we see our beloved little hybrid Porchsia begin to unravel. The responsibility that has been put on her shoulders since birth has begun to overwhelm her as the battles to keep her humanity versus giving in to her revengeful emotions for the wrongs that have been placed upon her. She's rattled and rattling those relationships that have kept her from Frenzy.
Bond does an excellent job of keeping the reader entertained yet again. Friction is the fourth book in the Frenzy series and I'm still just as emotionally involved eagerly absorbing the pages as I was when I first one clicked Frenzy, Bond's first book in this series. Bond's storytelling continues to grow as she tells the story of this Blackwater community. New secrets, characters, and emotions continue to develop engaging readers until the next release. I am so excited to see what Bond has in store for these characters. Will they find cures for these curses? Will Porchsia be able to deal with her new hybrid life? Will Roman ever return to his human form? So many questions are left unresolved! Make sure you read this along with the other three books and get ready for the next release by Bond. I'm sure it'll be just a good as this last one is!
Casey L. Bond’s “Friction” was another thrilling installment in the Frenzy series. I learned even more about the characters and the competing illnesses. The addition of new characters increased the intrigue.
Porschia has become more dangerous and there's more reason not to trust everyone. I haven't figured out whether to like Roman more as a vamp or a human. Tage is trying hard to be a good guy, but Saul doesn't make things easy. Mercedes is caught between being a good sister and her loyalty to the former Infected, Saul.
I loved Porschia’s strength in “Friction”. The longer she remains this odd hybrid, the more miraculous she becomes. Her humanity is still hanging on as the monster within threatens to overwhelm her.
Roman troubles me in this book. He comes off as wanting to be a human intent on being a good citizen. Deep down, however, he enjoys being a night walker. He uses his abilities to gain pieces of information.
Pieces of information is a reigning concept throughout “Friction”. No one really has the full story about anything. The humans of Blackwater react not knowing the truth about the illness, Porschia's, and the other night walkers. Even Tage and Saul act and react from snippets of info. Makes me wonder if they all sat down and talked, would outcomes be different.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series!
This author may be the death of me.... Porschia Grant has been the backbone of her community wether or not they choose to admit it. She has stepped up and volunteered all that she is, to keep those she loves safe - even when those that she is protecting don't do a darn thing for her! In Book Four of the series, we pick up just where Book Three left off.... with Porschia and Tage trying to spread the word about the cure that they have found. They head off to the next colony and find that not everyone is accepting of them, however they are determined to at least give them the knowledge. Porschia finds herself in a terrible situation and as always, she does what is needed to survive and protect... but it leaves her mentally in a dark funk. I think Saul is manipulating her... he is a punk. By the end of the book, Porschia has more to worry about than her love life. Roman is questionable, who is this new chick... and what the heck is happening with Ford?? I found myself completely enthralled with the book, and was angry when forced to enter society. It's that good! I loved it, and I can't wait to see what in the world Porschia is going to do with these threats... both new and old!
If you have not read any books by Casey L. Bond I highly recommend reading the Frenzy Series. Please do not read ahead if you have not read the series. I was blown away by books one, Frenzy. I mean who writes books about Night walkers and the Infected in one book..Well besides Casey? Then for one to be a hybrid in Frantic..WOW. She freaking knocked my socks off with the turn and twist of events and how the characters developed. Then we explore Frequency with Saul. OH Saul, what to say about what happened with you and your decisions. To think that the cure was found, or is it a cure or a curse? Now we were pitted with Friction and what happens when Casey's Heroine goes out to try to save the rest of the world with this so called cure.
Friction will be a guarantee, People will be Frantic in the search for survivors. Will everyone be on that same Frequency or will it be a Frenzy as they battle what is outside their safe town?
Casey L. Bond never disappoints with her books. When I get a book of her's I immediately put down what I am reading and pick her's up and start and finish it the same day. I recommend these books to all paranormal and dystopian lovers out there!
Friction picks up right where Frequency ends. You have to have read all the prior Frenzy Series books to be up to date with the story. We see the Infected and Vampires dealing with the news there is a cute. As they prepare to share the news with other survivors outside Blackwaters walks they see not all is as safe as it may appear. There is truly evil still out there and it's where you have to fight to survive.
We see Porschia face her worst fears as well as face what she is as a mix of an Infected and Vampire. Just how truly strong and deadly she really is. But this is not who she is or wants to be. Can she overcome this new found knowledge of herself? Or is she forever changed?
I was so sad when this book ended, I wants to keep having pages to read. I love this series and knowing the end is near makes me so sad. I am looking forward to the next book because it is going to be just as amazing as the rest!
Ugh! Here I am reading Friction, into the story and the characters and it just ends. My frustration woke my husband and he just didn't get it. I love Casey Bond's writing because with each series it's different yet pulls you in. I hope when you started Friction you have read the others in the series, if not go back and fall in love with the characters from the beginning. As soon as I think that everything will be love and sunshine something else happens to the gang and I'm left waiting more. We have a cure for both infected and vampires, trying to spread the news only to confront more conflict. If you like YA and/or dystopian books I recommend this series. #TeamTage
I was asked for an honest review free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.
Wow!! Casey does it again. This is book 4 in the Frenzy series. I keep getting surprised with each book I read. Casey is talented in the art of story telling and keeps her readers on the edge of their seats. I felt this series was done with book 3. It felt finished to me. When I heard there was a book 4 I was curious as to where the story would go. Wow I am so glad I picked up this book. If you haven't read this series, I highly advise you to pick up book 1. This series is a vampire series unlike any other that I have read. I fell in love with the characters in book 1 and loved the story all the way through book 4. I can't wait for the next book!!!!

Once again I’m maddeningly in love with this series. Each book is better and faster paced than the last, I swear these cliffhangers are going to end me. Friction took me through many highs and lows, leaving me nearly nail and cuticle-less by its end from sheer anxiety.
Things are getting tougher and emotions are running high while Porschia and her posse attempt to spread the good news. Not everyone is what they seem, and it already seems no one can be trusted. The Bondster really knows how to make you become separated from yourself and part of her world, and rather attached to her characters.
I really need the next book, and will stop at nothing to get my greedy paws on it.
This is the 4th installment in the series and picks up right where book 3 left off. Porschia and her crew set off an a mission that seems to be simple enough to do, but it is the furthest from simple. Porschia's wrath was something that left me unable to set the book down and I couldn't help but love how the characters would go to great lengths to protect one another.
Each character grows and changes, and there is a power in Porschia that made me love the character even more. She has to fight with who she is, and know that she can never go back to the human girl that she once was.
Be sure to pick up Frenzy if you haven't started the series, and take a bite out of this great series!
I totally run hot and cold on some of the characters. Roman is a hypocrite, Mercedes is crazy, and Saul is just pathetic. I just don't understand the politics and dynamics that are in this group. Porschia seems to be the leader but her emotions are running high. Ramon can't seem to take a back seat nor would I trust him to lead then there is the outside people who want to get rid of them. There is so many complicated stuff going on that the crazy thing is it makes sense.
I'm hopelessly addicted to this series. I'm on edge for the next book! This book was action packed and even though the cure has been found, there is still a lot of turmoil and evil abound. As they go farther than Blackwater there are far more sinister forces at work with a coven of murderous vampires. There are whole protected villages missing and the townspeople of Blackwater are being less forgiving. What is going to happen next, grab the book and find out. Read the whole series!
