Perdition MC #1

Never Ever

Rate this book
Never Ever...

Go Backwards. It was just supposed to be one night. One party to remind her of the good ole days, to remember what it had been like to have a family. It was not supposed to turn into a one night stand, and it was definitely not supposed to involve the guy every woman within a hundred miles had taken a ride on, or turn into more than just a good time.
But his eyes...
His dirty mouth...
One night couldn't hurt, right?

Never Ever...

Get involved. Never ever, commit. The only thing he was involved in, was the club. The only people he was committed to, were his brothers. He had a roof over his head, a job he liked, brothers to share the good times with. Plenty of women who came through the club if he needed to get off, women with no strings and no expectations. What else did he need?
But her ass...
The way she shot him down...
That sass!
That mouth...God, that mouth...

Everly is an MC woman born and breed. When the unspeakable happens on her wedding day, she runs leaving all those good memories behind. That's until her friend Susan talks her into going to a club party at the Perdition MC compound. There she finds herself eye f@cking the enforcer for the club. A sexy as sin beast of a manwhore. Before the night is over she'll find herself in his bed. Come morning reality rears it's ugly head and she is left with more than just memories...

Lucas Morningstar (ROAR) isn't looking for love. He doesn't do commitment, and he doesn't ever want to settle down. After a night of blistering hot sex, he sends the fiery ginger on her way. He's sure she'll be like all the rest and come looking for more. After four months of nothing, fate throws these two together once again. Roar is in for the shock of his life, and maybe commitment and family isn't such a bad idea after all...

"She was something else, looking out her back window at the land she’d bought and made a business out of. Flowers and fairies and fantasy. Something soft and gentle, his little earth mama, makin him a baby in her beautiful body."

What a surprising little gem of a book this was. It's got a very "KA" feel to it, which I loved. I mean who doesn't love an OTT alpha male. The plot was interesting and kept me turning the pages. The side characters were enjoyable and I look forward to reading more about them. I REALLY hope TOP gets his own book and TARA also. I do wish there would have been a better epilogue. I seem to be saying that a lot in my reviews lately, but it really is like the icing on a cupcake for me. At least in this one we get a little bit into the future look, so it wasn't a total disappointment.

description

I loved both the hero and the heroine. Everly was really a feisty heroine without being over the top bitchy. She stood her ground, but was also sweet and vulnerable at times. Roar was awesome. He was SUCH an egotistical dick at the beginning, but he quickly grew on me. Dirty talking and smokin hot. He was so devoted to the heroine. The only problem I had was both the hero and heroine sounded EXACTLY the same. They both spoke in those incomplete sentences, that are so popular with alpha heroes. I like that in my heroes, but it's a little weird for a heroine to speak like that. Just a small nuisance though.

Also, and this is just me being nitpicky. The author really should look into a better cover designer. The cover on this one and the next are really doing her no favors. Had a few of my friends not read this and gave it rave reviews, I wouldn't have gave it a second look. Covers really need to catch my attention before I'll give a book a chance. Anyways, just my 2 cents..

Overall I was really impressed with this and I am looking forward to reading the next up in this series.

I enjoyed this just as much the second time around. I absolutely adore Everly. She's such a badass. I want to be her when I grow up. But she's also sweet. Roar is still an asshole but he's awesome. Their banter still cracks me up.

Original review September 2016

**4.25 Sexy Bitch Stars**

I am really glad someone put Isabel Wroth on my radar. This is the second book of hers I've read and I really enjoyed it.

Roar was a grade A asshole in the beginning. I just knew he was going to fall and boy did he!
"Love everything about you. So deal’s off, babe. You don’t get to walk in eighteen years, you don’t get to walk, because you’re mine. Been mine since the first time I had you in this bed, I was just too much of a dumbass to realize it. Gonna be mine till the day I die.”~Roar

I loved Everly. She was a great heroine and I loved how she didn't take Roar's shit. He thought she'd be back after he rudely informed her to not let the door hit her on the way out. But guess what? She wasn't about to become his club slut. I liked that Everly had a soft vulnerable side too so she wasn't too alpha.

I really enjoyed seeing these two work it out and I loved their banter. I'm looking forward to reading more of the brothers' stories as well. Off to book two!

This is a new to me author that I am glad I was introduced to. This is the story of Everly and Roar and I couldn't put it down.

Everly grew up in the MC life. Her father was the Prez of an MC that taught her how to take care of and protect herself. In one moment years ago, Everly lost everything that was dear to her and ran. She built a new life for herself but stayed away from anything having to do with MCs. Her friend Susan convinces her to attend a pig roast at the local Perdition MC. As soon as she walks in and feels the familiarity of her old life, she realizes just how much she missed it. This is where Everly sees Roar for the first time surrounded by a group of club sluts. Roar approaches her, one thing leads to another and they spend an explosive night together. In her sated bliss, she feels hope about this new situation. That comes crashing down when Roar tells her to make sure she locks the door on her way out.

Roar can't get Everly out of his mind and is waiting for the day that she shows up at the Clubhouse again. When he kicked her out and treated her like just another piece, he in all of his arrogance, figured she would be back for more. Months later, she still hasn't shown her face and he is going crazy trying to find out where she is. Because in that one night, Everly ruined him for any other woman. On an errand for the Perdition Prez, he gets lucky and sees Everly again. He is totally knocked on his ass by what he finds.

I loved how Everly did not just roll over at all of his demands. I love that she made him work for it, sort of lol. I loved how Everly was such a badass but also had a very sweet and vulnerable side that she only showed to people that she trusted. Roar soon realizes there is no way he will ever let her go and starts working at getting at the soft side of her. I loved that when given the chance, he never waivers. He knows what he wants and is willing to do what it takes to make it happen. I loved Everly and Roar together, they were made for each other. I am immediately jumping into book 2 now.

If this author continues to write faithful, alpha, possessive heroes like Roar, I will read every story she puts out. Very excited to jump into Raid's story.

I really liked this one. Brilliant characters, a great story, laugh out loud moments and a hero who was so into his girl to the exclusion of all else.

So why only 2.5 stars? Because the editing bloody SUCKED. There were so many commas thrown in it made a nonsense of the sentence and paragraph structure, so much so I had to re-read passages a few times to get the damn thing to make sense. Also, constant changes of points of view with no warning - sometimes even in the middle of a damn paragraph. It. Drove. Me. Bloody. NUTS!! So what could easily have been a 4 - 4.5 star read limps in at 2.5 stars instead.

There is no excuse for publishing a book that is so lacking in basic editing.

I found this in my favorites collection on my Kindle but that was a while ago so I decided to do a reread.

This was an OTT crackfest, Ever could shoot like a sniper, fight like a brawler, cuss like a sailor and had knives strapped to her body at all times and she was a crack shot with them as well. Crazy I tell ya! So the h/H had a ONS a la Tack and Tyra where he was a dick to her and she left. Four months later no matter how much he tried his dick refuses to get hard for anyone else(omfg I love this so hard) then a chance encounter leads him to his sexy red headed bitch who's now........ pregnant (swoon) there's a bit of mc stuff happening in the background that ties in to Ever's past but it was mostly about the couple and their sexy, raunchy journey to the birth of their baby and the start of their family. Ever is the shit!!! The H was good too, but this was Ever's show and I loved it.
There were some spelling and grammatical errors but a mc book without ow angst and clubwhores galore??? I'm so down for it.
Now it's OTT in terms of language too, Ever says so many fucks it's no wonder she's pregnant again so soon, the H couldn't say a complete sentence and he called her a bitch regularly, trained men and pushy women get beat up by a pregnant lady 😂 but for what it is?? I enjoyed the heck out of it!

WooHoo! It’s been too long since I’ve read an MC book and this one was absolutely delicious in every possible way!

description

It’s been years since Ever has been inside a MC clubhouse, but when her best friend persuades her to attend a party at one, she decides it’s time to dip her toe in the waters that have played a huge painful part of her past. One look at Roar and all she sees is the club manwhore. When he makes a pass at her, she throws him some sass before spending an incredible night in his bed. Being tossed out the next morning is a stark reminder of what she is in his world.

Roar didn’t realize he wasn’t going to see the sexy redhead again. Now it’s been months and he can’t think straight for the wanting of her. No other woman will do and he’s sure his male parts are officially broken. But when one drunken donut on the front yard of the compound gets him in trouble with the club president, his world is turned completely upside down.

description

Man oh man, I absolutely loved Roar! He’s everything I look for in a hero. He was protective as well as jealous and possessive, and the fact that Ever’s sassy attitude turned him on made me love him even more.

”…somewhere in there was a soft spot. A soft spot that was so tender it needed major protecting. Someone had taught her how to protect it, to fiercely protect it, keep it safe and off limits. Roar watched the tail of her pony whip in the air as she spun on her heel and marched her sweet as- into the bathroom. Muttering under her breath while she slammed the door behind her. Made him grin like a fool for no good reason. He wanted that soft spot. Wanted his name all over it.”

It’s a close call, but I loved Ever all most as much as Roar. She was independent and feisty and she gave as good, if not better, than she got. And yet for a woman who could totally take care of herself, she had a sweetness to her that endeared her to me. I love the combination of the two.

description

Together, this couple kept me glued to the pages. Their chemistry was just as spectacular outside the bedroom as it was inside. With some great banter and fun, witty moments, I just kept falling harder and harder for them both. There was so much goodness within this relationship that I hated when it came to an end.

This is a quick read that has some drama, a bit of mystery, some shocks that I never saw coming, things that made me tear up both with sadness and with pure joy, and some freaking awesome secondary characters. The MC life outlined here is softcore but with enough of an edge to keep it interesting – club girls included. Really, there was nothing about this book that I didn’t love. And the ending had me grinning like a loon and wanting to reread it immediately.

Thank you to my Mindy Lou for this recommendation that I neglected for too long! Highly passing that recommendation on!

This book was just plain fun to read. I liked both MCs and their journey to their HEA. There was a lot of snappy dialogue that I loved. Ever is almost too good to be true.

There are a few minor editing issues including spelling and grammar errors and sometimes it is hard to tell just who is talking.

If you like Alphas with a Kristen Ashley flavor (this almost read like KA fan fiction) then you will like this book.

I enjoyed this story and I liked the characters but there were times that the story started to feel really rushed and it definitely took away some of my enjoyment. I'm not sure if these character connect to the authors other books but there were also times that I felt like I was missing parts to the story when events or other characters were mentioned.

This was a really good ride!
This heroine was winner for me. She was sassy and strong and she did not take prisoners. She was raised by a hard ass MC prez who taught her to hunt, ride, handle knifes and a guns. She was a total BADASS!
Her whole life is taken from her in an act so vile that I can't even explain it other than, she is a total survivor! Because of her history with MCs she did not want to come to the club party where she meets the hero.
Now the hero is the biggest manwhore ever! He gets into her pants and tell her to lock the door on her way out!!
Yeah he was a totally asshole!
Then,he goes on with his life but he can't get it up! Ahhh poor dickhead!
Really hated this ass and it took a lot of little moments to make him redeemable to me.
The moment that stands out to me is when he was in the office after the ultra sound touching her stomach and yelling that having a paternity test was too dangerous. He would never endanger her life for something he already known was his.
More things happens and load of good make sense drama and hot sex. I don't want to give this story away.
4 stars for me here. It's not a perfect read but it was
Awesome book and totally worth the read here.
Safety: hero is a manwhore heroine is ? We never really know her past other than she was engaged once, some pushing and pulling some club slut drama but no actual cheating, they are faithful and condoms are always used by the hero even with the heroine.

Complete perfection! This had everything I wanted in a hero and heroine. When a man takes complete and total care of a woman, there is just nothing sexier.

When a woman can kick some serious ass and not been seen as a bitch, she goes right into my favorite heroines list. Both couples were exactly like what I want to see in my books.

The very beginning had one moment where I thought it was going in a different direction but the fact that the heroine is the reason the hero changed his tactics so fast your head would spin, was the perfect way to start out their story.

This is the first book I've read by this author. I'm crossing my fingers and begging the book gods to that the rest of her books have the same type of hero and heroines. I don't need or want variety when they are this good.

Pure alpha goodness. Very jealous and possessive but NOT done in over-the-top, silly scenes. Perfection.

LOVED IT!! I WOULD SHACKUP WITH THIS BOOK AND HAVE ITS ILLEGITIMATE CHILDREN

It's a little Alexa Riley, a smidge of L. Wilder and just a dash of Kristen Ashley. You don't have to turn on the oven, mix for hours or even worry about the proportions it's good stuff.
I will warn you- there is no angst-y stuff, no violent events that make you feel like you need to take a break and come back later, nor are there any high school dramas of 'will she, won't she, could I take her in a street fight, am I willing to go to fairy tale prison to kill this fictional character?' It's lots of sexy moments, the H (road name Roar) is sweet, he applauds his woman's tough side and he does his part around the house.
It's sweet, loaded with love and a committed couple who is figuring it out as they move forward in their relationship, but you won't find any of that whining crap so many other books love. Oh, and he's not her step brother!! Who knew there were so many other people to date other than your f#cking step brother?!?!

4 Morningstar

It would have been five stars if it was a little longer but I love it.

Lucas Roar Morningstar is the enforcer for Perdition MC and does not believe in settling down. Oh boy!!!!

Everly has a dark past that she did not want to relive but her friend convinced her anyways. She step foot back into the MC world.

Well.....you can it read and find out :)

☆☆☆☆ 4 Roarin' Stars ☆☆☆☆

I'm not going to lie, when I first started this book, I didn't think I was going to hang on and see it through. I am SO glad that I did!

Lucas "Roar" Morningstar was a manwhore who had no desire what so ever to settle down. He was content with club life and all the "perks" that came with it. That is until his "ginger" walked through the club doors.

Everly Nolin shut down when her life was flipped upside down. After constantly being nagged by her friend to attend a club party, she finally gave in. She loved being in the club atmosphere of brotherhood and family. Once she met Roar, she was quickly reminded why she stayed away.

After a night of amazing sex, Roar sent her on her way, treating her like she was nothing more than one of the "club sluts". He thought for sure she would come back for more time with him and to his surprise, she didn't. Not knowing how to find her, he was at a loss. Even her best friend who brought her to the party wouldn't tell him because he was a jerk to her. For the four months until he saw her again, he didn't have sex with any other women. He dreamt of her often, drank himself into a stupor and was destructive and causing fights. His last incident sent him right back into her path.

Everly didn't make it easy on Roar and I was so glad. Although they were together, you watched them fall in love with each other as the story progressed. There was definitely instalust. Everly cracked me up and even though I don't care for badass/alpha heroines, she was one of my favorites. Her antics drove Roar crazy.

Great secondary characters and I'm interested to see who gets future stories.

There was NO EPILOGUE! That is not ok so of course that hindered my rating.
It was a HFN ending.

First time author for me. I really liked the basics of the story and the characters. Having read many MC romances, this one is a softer MC romance without the grit and violence. The author shows much promise but the writing was so similar to Kristen Ashley I felt like I was reading one of her books. The author needs to find her own voice. They say imitation is the highest form of praise but I would think no author wants any reader to be continuously remembering the book(s) they have previously read because of the same words/phrasing used. You could interchange these characters with many of the characters in KA's books. I rated this book 4 stars. The things that kept me from rating it 5 stars:
1) The noticeable KA similarities including words/phrases and character similarity
2) While I love a strong heroine, this one went a little OTT to me. I was ok with the fact she could beat a special forces sharp shooter; kill a boar with one shot; butcher it, etc; carried a knife strapped to her back at all times and again could throw/use that knife better than any man. What really got to me is the fact that she's pregnant (in her last months) and physically hurls two club sluts out of her house. Even more, she beat the heck out of three FBI/DEA agents because one of them touched her stomach. Yeah, she beat them up bad, picking one up and slinging him over her hip to the ground. Being in the last stages of pregnancy didn't slow her down.
3) The sex was hot but IMO not erotic. There's the usual various forms of intercourse and oral sex on her. Don't remember reading anything about oral sex on him. But towards the last of the book, we get a detailed scene where he shows her a sex swing he has put up in his room at the clubhouse. He says he's never used it before. There's a wench that lets it down from the ceiling. We get a detailed description of the sex on the swing. The whole sex swing scene just seemed out of place to me.
4) Noticeable editing issues with missing words or words out of order, etc.>

If this was an established author I would probably rate it 3 stars. Since it's a new author I'm allowing for the potential and hoping that my points will be taken in the positive way I am delivering them.

I LOVE THIS! I love this I tell you!!!! I am not even going to knock off 1/2 star for the spelling errors because I am so in love with this couple. No tstl, no angst, no ow/om drama (there is ow/om from their past/bitch trying to cause trouble but H & h don't allow any bs to come between them).

I'll tell you, after the start where they have a one night stand and man-ho Roar tells Everly (I love her name) to run along I'll see you around and she says No Thanks, I wasn't sure how this bad boy would redeem himself. Not to worry, the moment she walks out the door she basically castrates him where any other woman is concerned. When he accidentally bumps into her 4 months later and she has a "bump" of her own he is on board OTT-You are my woman-every other woman leaves me cold. He is so sweet and tender. She is (understandably) cautious.

I love these two, Ever is an amazing heroine. This author managed to write her as tough, capable, self-sufficient but never a bitch. She blew me away. Roar is the perfect hero, really he is. He does, says and comes through so well. he is 100% committed to Ever, how could I not fall in love with him? So many sweet and tender moments.

And the humor, oh, it's just slipped in so effortlessly. Some authors insert humor in such a forced way, not so here. It's funny, sweet, sexy and engrossing all at the same time.

Really wish it was longer because I didn't want it to end. Would have loved it to stretch a bit further in the future for these two, but not disappointed at all. Total keeper and will be re-reading and want more from this author.

DISCLAIMER TO THOSE READING MY REVIEW:
This review is my personal opinion, it may contain swearing, quotes, rants, and spoilers!!!
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK....

I absolutely LOVED IT!! So glad book 2 is already out and available!!
This is Roar and Ever's story.
For an MC this was on the softer side, but even though it wasn't all gritty and angsty it was still a really good freaking read!
Roar is the Enforcer for the Perdition MC, and he is a total badass alpha male. He meets Ever one night at a club party and they end up getting together that same night. His mistake is treating her the way he treats all the club whores by kicking her out of his bed when they are done. When she's leaving he tells her see ya around and her response is Nope!!
Ever is the daughter of a fallen MC president, so when things go down with Roar she knew that it could happen that way but was hoping something would come of it. But when he pretty much tells her to get out after sex she tells him no he wont see her again and means it. I don't really want to go into what else happens just know that Roar realizes pretty quickly he fucked up!!
I really loved the chemistry between all the characters, and really I am kinda hoping that there might eventually be a book about Top the Perdition Prez cause I really came to love him in this story!
I definitely recommend!!

This MC book probably wouldn't have been so bad had it not been for the fucking hero and his fucking disgusting way of talking about women. All of them were bitches, sluts and twats. Even the heroine.

Some of the story wasn't bad and the quality and style of the writing was fine, but that soured me to the whole thing. I wish authors would remember that even if they're trying to write "hard" men, these romances still have to appeal to readers first. And writing the MC genre way is vile and off putting.

Wow. It's been a while since I've been able to read a MC romance without skipping pages that just don't agree with me. I will point out that the first five pages nearly broke my resolve. Roar seemed to fall on the far side of alpha-hole...but he redeemed himself magnificently.

Everly and Roar had a world-rockin' one night stand. Turns out that it was life-altering as well. Roar was adamant that he was "never ever" going to have/want a family. Then he rediscovered the sassy as hell red head who stole his manwhore mojo. Walking into Ever's nursery, Never Ever Land, well...the available puns are inevitable.

Ever is a badass of the highest caliber. She had no intention of running to Roar like some kind of bodice-ripper-heroine of old, needing to be taken care of in her delicate condition. In fact, she didn't exactly expect to see him again, and was more than a little surprised at his barging into her life and forming an insta-family.

Watching these two go head to head is at turns hot and hilarious! The heat factor is lava! There are so many quotable quotes (mostly from Roar) that I gave up highlighting early on. Ms. Roth is my new BFF. She created a badass character who doesn't know the word defeat and pits her against a BAMF who is just the right amount of raunchy sweet. Aaaannnddd...she's endowed them both with the dirty-mouthed biker slang/speak that I'm waaaaay too addicted to.

No cheating (Ever would castrate him with a spoon, not that he's looking), no OW drama , near insta-love, HEA, an awesome crew of guys and gals that can be set up nicely into sequels (hint, hint), pretty stellar character development (I could have used a few hundred more pages of Ever and Roar daily drama) and a couple that socks you right in the feels. LOVED IT!

I had a hard time believing the relationship. They meet, the same night they bang, hero kicks her out of his room. Heroine tells him she should have known better, act like a biker slut, then you get treated like one.

Hero then can't "perform" sexually with anyone else even though he keeps trying. Four months later he accidentally runs into her at her place of work. He sees that she's pregnant. Once he finds out the baby is his, he immediately wants to marry her and tattoo her as his property. He even says he'll be faithful. (They've only known each other for 1 night at this point)

Heroine agrees to get his tattoo, after knowing him 1 night but refuses to marry him, saying he'll have to convince her. Come on. Why would you get a tattoo of a guy's name on your body after 1 night of knowing him? Even if he is your future baby's father?

Basically the only connection they had was screwing each other. Hero and other bikers refer to her as his "bitch" instead of his old lady. Not sure if that's the proper word for her but I don't like hearing the word "bitch" instead of old lady.

The 1 good thing about this book is how obsessed with the heroine the hero is. She's the only woman for him after they banged 1 time but he doesn't go off to find her. He keeps trying to screw other women but it doesn't work.

The book was just ok for me.

-Kindle Unlimited read, which is always a welcome way for me to explore new authors. I picked up this book and the next in the series on the recommendation of GR friends, and while flawed, I did enjoy my time with the Perdition MC.

-Pretty quick read and I tore through this book in a day, which was fun.

-A kinder, gentler MC book, although still pretty standard with the stereotypical club sluts, and yet there’s something here that has potential. WTFery is about 1 (they’re reformed bikers, yo) and Ever’s a decent heroine who doesn’t take crap from anyone. It’s fairly low on the angst scale as well and my main complaint is that the one “danger” felt contrived as it is all resolved quickly and the reader is only told about it in snippets. It needed a bit more action.

-I can understand the comparisons to KA’s Chaos series, and even the initial setup reminds me of Chaos (heroine hooks up with biker hero and he treats it like a one night stand has shades of Motorcycle Man, though it’s not a carbon copy). Much like Ms. Ashley, Ms. Wroth has hooked into the bickering dialogue and some good humor, which allows this romance to shine at times, even if it stumbles on more than one occasion because of the grammatical errors galore. As a published author, an occasional typo or incorrect word I can ignore, but there’s a crazy love of commas and incorrect verbiage that’s distracting more than entertaining.

The Bottom Line 3 stars
Editing issues aside, I did enjoy this read and I’m more than willing to continue with the series and see how Ms. Wroth grows as an author.

Wow, I loved this book so much that I read the whole thing in just one sitting. This was a pretty feel good MC story and lacked some of the darkness and grit I have seen in other books, but I enjoyed this story all the more for it!

At the beginning, we see just how much of a jerk Roar can be, but he quickly realizes his mistake. Ever on the other hand rolls with the punches and often replies back with her signature Never Ever forget you attitude. Add in some fantastic side characters like the club Prez, Top, a bit of a twist to the story early on and Ever's crazy backstory, and this was a great ride!!!

Two things to note here, Isabel does have a rather unique writing style and I am not entirely sure how to describe it, but it was almost like the book was just one continuous story. Even with time passing in the book, the story didn't really pause making it so hard to stop reading even at chapter breaks. The second thing to note is that this was not exactly a cliffhanger, but the story is by no means over. I really hope I don't have to wait too long for the next one......

(One bad thing I really do have to scream about, it is KOI, not coy when we are talking about the fish!!! That really did bug me, but that is just me being nit picky!)

Excellent writing style, story flowed well and kept my interest throughout. Yes, a little instant love going on, but I prefer that sometimes to men who can't commit or don't think they're 'worthy'.
Great characters, especially Ever. Hated the H's name 'Roar' since it's usually a verb it kind of threw me off while reading. But, that's my issue.
My criticism is the 'action' is written as very distant and only referred to. The main characters are usually uninvolved. Made the story feel more like a draft than a full novel.
Not much interaction with secondary characters although they sounded fun too.
Reading this review, I almost feel I'm rating too high but I had fun reading it am am looking forward to more books in the series.
