Seven years. Seven damn years of wondering whether the woman was still alive whether she d spent the last two thousand five hundred fifty five days wondering if he was still alive. Wondering whether that night was as burned into her memory as it was his. Seven years having his heart tethered to Addison and now she s back. With even more reasons to run than she d had then. Only this time, Caine isn t letting the gorgeous little flight risk out of his sight. Regardless of how noble her reasons may be. EVERY NIGHT WITHOUT YOU (Bk 2) takes place seven years after BEFORE THAT NIGHT (Bk 1), and is the conclusion of Caine & Addison s story of love, sacrifice, and the lengths one will run and chase when their past threatens their future."

You have to read Before that Night before you can read this book.
Short and sweet, this is going to be…
Addison cross paths after 7 years. They were miserable both of them the past 7 years that their love isn’t finished yet. They’ve both changed. Caine has become harder but deep down he is still the sweet alpha that he has always been towards Addison.
Addison has really done something great. I admire her strength and tenaciousness. Out of all the things that she has been through she deserved happiness. She got it in the end with Caine no doubt about it. But sometimes it was just so long winded.
What I didn’t like is that when I wanted to see more of Caine and Addison getting closer with one another again, Alec who is like the brother she never had keep on turning up. Okay, okay Caine was there when it counted the most but still. Alec constantly butting in annoyed me. A. Lot.
I started off strong with this book but throughout the book either I was slacking off or the book was slacking. I was exhausted by the time I’d finished it feeling at the same time happy that I had finished and a wee bit guilty because of it dragging in parts to my liking.
Several of you will probably say “That’s not true” Ah got to admit it is for me. I did not see that ending coming! Great twist there Ms. Duke!
What I loved – The HERO is celibate for 7 years, yes you read correctly he is celibate for 7 years. So refreshing when that happens in a book. Makes it sweeter.
All four Spencer brothers will be getting a book, Drew is up next. We have Gabe and then Max. A series to continue as Ms. Duke can write a captivating story it just didn’t captivate me all the time.
Ok wow! Wow in bad way. The 7 hours of the audiobook is how addison swooning over caine. How perfect his body is. How sensitive he is. How her heart swooning when caine done something to her siblings. How beuatif his eyes. How strong and perfect species of man. For 7 hours.
The drama, twist and plot only about 1 hour. I feel sorry for david. I think he at least needs to be in the spot.
7 years apart. Who knows what happened between then and now?
MARCH 15th 2017 UPDATE There it goes the slight chance to read this book. It went from my MAYBE shelf to the NO INTERESTED shelf. No (many) smutty.. beside other things. For more info, the review bellow https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
**MINOR SPOILERS, but nothing telling of the plot**
3/10/17 (pg 141 of 255) - As of now this is the worst book I've read to date. I cannot count how many times the word "alpha" and "growl" were used in the first half of the book. Not to mention Addison and Caine have STILL not resolved their feelings for them. This book takes place 7 years after the 1st book. It is essentially 7 years of "I like you, you like me, but let's not tell each other or talk about it." They are worse than teenagrs. Teenagers act out on their emotions, even adults do. There's definitely a lot of eye-f*cking going on and that's about it. They haven't even had a make out session. There are a lot of holes as to what "could've" happened and hasn't. The story has barely progressed to the point where the antagonist has started to return to the story. And who refers to an erection as a "giant parking brake" in a romance novel? It better resolve well.
Updated 3/10/17 (Finished)- Painstakingly finished the book, I admit to skimming almost a quarter of the remaining pages I had. I will say the twist in this book helped a little, but not enough to add another star. I feel like the dialogue between the characters is so vague it makes the story hard to follow. I wish I could return this book, but it's an ebook. Overall too much "growling" and childishness that was mistaken for "flirting". While they finally got together in this book, at best it's a PG contemporary romance novel. =/ There are other books in the Unfinished Love series featuring duets with other couples. After how this one was set up, I won't be reading any of the others.
I'm not sure where this fell flat for me, but I never really connected with Caine or Addison. Honestly, I liked Alec more than both of the main characters. Too bad he's not getting a story.
The story line wrapped up neatly in the end, though it felt a little anti-climactic. We never see David again, though he is in the background doing bad guy stuff. The actual "bad guy" felt totally random and didn't make much sense to me.
After 7 years apart, it's time for Caine and Addison's reunion and a second chance at love. Another short , quick and easy read where all the questions that remained at the end of the first installment are finally answered. There's a little more intensity to both the romance and the angst and criminal investigation in this one adding a little more dimension. Both main characters are well-developed, along with a terrific secondary cast, the dialogue is a little too cheesy in some instances, but overall a good and solid wrap up to a feel-good HEA. Again, a few too many slip-ups in the editing process.
I only read this as I had bought it before I read book 1. I expected an angsty, gritty story but this was neither. I feel a bit cheated tbh. Too 'nice' for me.
This book was totally worth the wait! With the way the first book ended and broke my heart, I knew the second book would make everything okay again. The journey, though, was filled with a few more sad times and plenty of mystery. The biggest shock for me was who was helping David stay ahead of the cops for the last seven years this keeping Addison and Caine apart. But in the end, true love won.
This book, like the first captivated me from the first page to the last. In fact, I read both of them in the same day. I love the Spencer brothers and cannot wait for each of their stories as well. And I might have a tiny crush on Alec, so I wouldn't mind a book about him too (I'm just putting that out in the universe since he's an "honorary Spencer brother") ;) Thank you Violet Duke for your amazing stories!
Every Night Without You: Book 2, Caine & Addison by Violet Duke is the second book in the Unfinished Love series. The story picks up 7 years after Before that Night ends up. Every Night Without You is the conclusion to Caine and Addison´s story. Addison vanished and Caine hunts Addison´s enemy. He hopes to find her again. Caine wonders what happened to Addison and her siblings. Then he finds her and sparks fly- again. I loved the story and couldn´t put this book down. I had to know if they get their well deserved HEA. The Unfinished Love Series is a story about love, loss, sacrifice and the length one will go to protect their loved ones. 5 Stars.
Every Night Without You is the conclusion of Cain and Addison's journey. This book is my favorite so far. My heartached and I fell more in love with the characters. You'll want to read Before That Night book first. This book held more of a mystery and parts that I never saw coming. I absolutely loved that banter between the guys. My favorite scene is in Addison's apartment with all the guys and then her sister walks in. *No spoilers* I was laughing so hard I was crying. I didn't want Cain and Addison's story to end. I can't wait to read more of the Unfinished Love series.
I loved Caine and Addison. This is their conclusion to their story & it takes place 7 years after book 1. I just couldn't put it down. I think I'll re-read their books soon. It was so good.
Book two slayed me! Violet Duke has a beautiful way with words. Her ability to write such clear emotions and complex characters pulls you into every aspect of their lives. I longed for Addison and Caine to be together again.
For second chance romances to work, I need a clear and believable reason for the split as well as evidence that things are worth fighting for the second time around. The author gave us all that in spades. There was no doubt in my mind that these Addison and Caine belonged together. They had both endured so much heartache over the seven years they were apart. It was like their hearts were two pieces of a whole pulling towards each other across the miles. When they were finally back in each others presence, I could physically feel all of the longing, love, and need that pulsed between them. It was heartbreaking and yet hopeful at the same time.
I loved everything about this book. I loved the way Addison and Caine reconnected, their flirting, which was insanely hot and sweet, their constant struggle to stay away from each other, and finally their profession of love. I enjoyed the interactions Addison had with her family, her strength throughout her struggles, and what she was able to accomplish in her life. Everything she did was for Tanner and Kylie, and it was beautiful to see how giving and loving these two turned out to be. And I can’t forget the thrill ride we were sent on. The author definitely kept me guessing; I never saw the little twist at the end coming!
I love all of the friends and family in this book! Alec, Marco, and all of Caine’s brothers are great characters. I especially love how much they all tease each other and rile Caine up. They kept me laughing! I’m looking forward to reading more about these guys and their journeys to finding love.
“Every Night Without You” is the continuation of Caine and Addison’s story in the Unfinished Love duet. It picks up seven years after Addison decided unilaterally that it would be better for her, Tanner and Kylie to leave Caine than to put him in a position of having to lie for her. This only confirms my reason for calling her Saint Addison, as done in my previous review of book 1. Only I’ve now decided that St. Addison should be referred to as Superwoman Addison. In this book she’s graduated from mere saintly behavior to actually running and managing a large halfway house type setup for the homeless. The home includes classes, daycare, community gardens with sustainable farming practices and so much more. Honestly, the woman’s a veritable whirlwind.
Seriously, book 2 is too long. It goes on and on and on about much of nothing. Caine and his brothers are still hunting for the sicko that’s been hunting Addison and we’re finally “treated” to Caine taking Addison to bed. By the way, the 25 year old virgin concept is hardly believable, but whatever. And the quest for the bad guy is anticlimactic.
My original comments about author Dukes’ writing must stand. Her syntax needs work and someone should clue her in on the homonym mixups. Plus my previous comments about the redundant phrasing and fluffy writing also still stands. These are things about which an astute writer should pay scrupulous attention. Barring that, a good copy editor is needed. It was a decent plot that got bogged down in too much minutiae. Three stars.
I was so mad with Violet because of the way the previous book ended that I can't quite describe how much I wanted to scream. It's the truth. I was so nervous to start readind this book that I couldn't stop shaking. Before I start my review I need to warn you. If you haven't read the first book of this series, Before That Night, I totally advise you to read it because if you don't you will not understand this one, I can assure you. Every Night With You continues to tell the stories of Addison and Caine. Their love story was abruptly stopped and they only get reunited 7 years later. So many things were left unspoken and they need to forget the past and enjoy the future but can they? Can they forget the pain of being away from each other? Can love survive a 7 year loss? Will everything be alright? Well I can't answer that for you because I hate spoilers so grab this series and start to read it now. Seriously why a 7year gap? I understand that we needed a cliffhanger but this was to much. But why am I complaining? I loved it. I had so many questions that needed answers and thank God I had them. This story, just like the previous, developed in a way that made me sad and happy at the same time, nervous and excited, anxious and overwhelmed. Now I'm freaking out because if the first two books were like this I can't even imagine what the rest of the series will be like. Let's just wait and see...
Part two of the duet with Caine and Addison, not exactly what I expected. I will say first that I am not a fan of this duet format. It is like two novellas. I don't see the rest of this series in my future since they are all duets.
I really liked Caine and Addison, but the family dynamics of Caine's family really stole the show for me. The brothers all ribbing each other and the easy camaraderie they had with each other, was fun to read. Some things in the storyline just didn't make sense to me. How in the world could he see handwriting on someones hand, in traffic, from a few car lengths away? With all of the security in Addison's CoRe home, how could the worker just assume that it was ok for someone to be hired as a tutor without checking it out first? I understand that the mom kind of saved the day, but that erases all of the stuff she said and did? It was kind of slow starting for me, and after they found each other again, I think I expected more.....just more. It was just like, ok, I found you again, lets start where we left off.
Just ok for me, like I said, I don't like the duets so I won't read any more, but it does bum me out because I would really like to see the brothers' story.
I was so excited to finish Caine and Addison's story. Loved all the suspension with a little romance mixed in. This story continues seven years later after part one was written. A great story about no matter what happens to you in life you keep pushing, pick yourself up, and make the best of what life has given you. Addison did just that once she left Caine seven years ago. I never saw the ending coming and could not put the book down the closer I got to the end.
This book was the satisfying conclusion to Addison and Caine's story, so satisfying in fact, that I read it in one day. Seven years after the events of Before That Night, Addison's and Caine's lives intersect once again, but not everything from the past has been resolved, not least the feelings between Addison and Caine. I loved the suspense woven through this sequel, as well as a couple of twists and turns which kept the pages turning themselves.
The second book started with Addison seven years later. She left Caine because she didn’t want him to lie on the stand. She new that he would do anything for her even if he was to loose his job over it. So she made the decision to leave and her and the kids would find a place that nobody knew them and they could live off the grid. She wanted Caine to pursue anything that he wanted to.. It was killing her to leave him but she know it was best. Addison read about this Women and kids shelter in Tucson Arizona and she decided to go in that direction.
So Addison sold the van and her and the kids took the bus to Arizona. Once she got there she talked to the director of the shelter and explained her situation and that she didn’t want to be found that she needed to make a living for her and the kids. When she finish talking to the shelter director she went outside and called and called the only other person she New she could talk to and that was Joe at the diner. Joe is just like a father to her and she needed to talk to him.
While talking to Joe, Caine came in the room with Joe and wanted to talk to Addison. He did and told Addison that the judge gave David bail and he has jumped bail and for her to be careful and what ever she was doing to keep doing it. Cause he couldn’t find her. So she told him ok. But in actual she was missing the heck out of her.
Addison told him an update on the kids. That Tanner was in collage in California and he’s made the dean’s list every year. Kylie is doing well too and she makes straight A’s. Caine asked her was she married or with someone and she told him no. And the same for him. Addison went on to tell him about the shelter. That it’s not a shelter that it’s a Transitional Housing community for Homeless Families. He also told her that he looked her up and her name is Addison James she had it changed to keep David from finding her.
Alec is the PI that helped Addison keep her self off the grid. I’m not going to go further into everything else cause I want you to read the story cause you really need to know what happens between Caine and Addison but there Is this thing that happen with Caine with his ex partner that killed hisself. He took care of his wife after he blew his brains out. His wife is Georgia and she has to kids Millie and Kevin. Georgia is a professional seamstress. But it’s more to Georgia that meets the eye.. you are going to be like me 😧🤭
Plus there is a twist with Alec that you are going to find out. It has something to do with Addison’s parent’s and her sister and brother... you are not going to believe this!! So please start with book one “Before That Night” and end with the shocking ending in “Every Night Without You” get Them read them and enjoy the love these two people have for one another and what they have to endure to be together. 🤗
Caine and Addison's story picks up in the future with an unbelievable lapse in time of seven years without any type of contact between these two smitten characters, after discovering that they wanted a life together with all of the trimmings. I enjoyed this story with all of the old familiar characters and a few new quirky ones. However, I got hung up on the length of time they wasted before they rekindled their relationship. I thought that it probably wasn't very realistic for these two individuals in this very new romance to survive seven very long years working around others without any type of contact with each other. That would give anyone plenty of time to question their decision to continue to wait for endless years without encouragement from the other person while they grew older and older wondering if the other person had already moved on without them. The story was interesting and there were a few unexpected surprises toward the end. I enjoyed the book. I just wished Caine and Addison had been brave enough and tough enough to face whatever the future held together instead of losing all of those years. !!!!
Caine and Addison are perfect for each other, they both love with their whole hearts, care for kids, love their families, and get through the bad stuff.
It took 7 years and the Spencer boys, Alec and 1 Spencer girl to track and eventually solve the stalker mystery.
This book is funny, has a little touch of erotica (could use a little more best though) and has beautiful characters.
The boys are gentlemen, funny and lovingly pick on each other especially Caine.
The only place this book fell a little short on was the final chapter. It cut too quickly to the epilogue.
I wanted to see what happened to Lara, the wedding, Alec, Marco, Tanner and Kaylie.
The epilogue was sweet though. I hope that future books in this series update us on Addison and Caine.
I also hope we get to see the love stories of Our only original Spencer girl, Tanner and Kaylie.
Trying to figure out, is Drew and Tanner close in age? That's my theory.
Cannot wait to read about Drew, Gabe and Max that I know are set to release.
I was really looked forward to reading this after the 1st books ending. 7 years later is where it would pick up. So much could happen in 7years yet the story didn't portray that. It literally made Addison into the same person she was at 20. The kids are basically M.I.A. I couldn't believe there was no type of relationships developed during those 7 years. It's almost like time has stopped and when they weren't together. Considering David was the person of interest in the 1st book you would think they would have evolved here..It doesnt. I'm honestly disappointed. The book had so much potential but fell flat. I found myself struggling to finish it. The book left a lot to be desired in order for Caine and Addison to have their "happily ever after" I think I would have enjoyed her relationship evolving with Alec. It definitely would have been a plot twist. I probably won't be reading the remaining books in the series.
It's been seven years without the love of Caine's life Addison. When Caine accidentally finds Addison, she no longer looks or acts like the innocent young woman he knew long ago, but is now leading the charge for the homeless and abused. Addison has built her new world without Caine but has missed him every day, only knowing that keeping herself and her two siblings away from him helps Caine to stay on the right side of the law as a psycho stalks her with some idea that she belongs not to Caine, but to him, David. Caine has spent seven years trying to find David but every time he gets close David disappears. Someone is feeding David information but who? Now that Addison and Caine have found each other again the danger increases. Again lightness with enough darkness to keep me interested without going overboard. I am still having visions of a Kylie size hole in the door with cartoon 'whoosh' characters following her lol.
I thought book #1 was okay and was interested enough to read the second part of the story between the two main characters. OMG it was painful!
The overall story was slow moving and I was confused by some parts of the story. Characters would pop out of nowhere and they’d make corny jokes around Addison and Caine, the main couple. Perhaps it was meant to be light and humourous. I found none of it.
Honestly, the first book was much better; this book felt like a knockoff cheat. Towards the end I didn’t care about the characters or story anymore, I just wanted it to be over. Needless to say, I skipped and skimmed a lot of pages and yet still felt like the story dragged.
I currently have no plans to continue reading this series or this author. It might change in the future but this book was a disappointment.
I swear with every Violet Duke book I read, I love her and her stories more. She takes you on an incredible journey with Caine and Addison. They were so perfect together and it was saddening to see them struggle to stay apart and yearn for the other. Their story was one of the most beautiful stories I have read. This one had a little suspense, a great twist, dear, family, laughter, and a whole lot of love. Their relationship was so intense and pure. They knew where they belonged from the beginning. I enjoyed getting to know both Caine and Addison's family and friends better. I cannot wait for the other books in this series.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the author.
