T.M. (Tracey Marie) Frazier never dreamed that a single person would ever read a word she wrote when she published her first book. Now, she is a eight-time USA Today bestselling author and her books have been translated into numerous languages and published all around the world.

T.M. enjoys writing what she calls ‘wrong side of the tracks romance’ with morally corrupt anti-heroes and ballsy heroines.

Her books have been described as raw, dark and gritty. Basically, what that means, is while some authors are great at describing a flower as it blooms, T.M. is better at describing it in the final stages of decay.

She loves meeting her readers, but if you see her at an event please don’t pinch her because she's not ready to wake up from this amazing dream.

Pancakes, bowties, suspenders, and a crazy fucking good time till I DIE!!!! Yup, guess who is back motherf*ckers? Samuel Clearwater aka PREPPY!!! The long awaited return of Preppy was worth the wait as readers got to see that Preppy is one crazy mofo that doesn’t need to do much to win our hearts. Maybe it’s the smile or the bow ties but either way T.M. Frazier has readers like myself addicted.

photo 05b63a5093785e54d5f3098475db58_zpsenfij4hu.gif “I never knew true fear until I met pure evil. He wore a smile and a bow tie.”

Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part One is the first installment to this duet that gives readers a much deeper perspective of Preppy’s past. It is highly recommended that you read KING and the rest of the series in order to get a better understanding of the characters and what is going on when T.M. Frazier references past events.

#Preppy1

So what makes Samuel Clearwater different from his two best friends, King and Bear? Well, besides the fact that Samuel loves his pancakes and bow ties, he has a certain taste for revenge, craziness and sex. Preppy is also the kind of friend that you would want to have your back. He would honestly give you a piece of his organ if he had too. So, when King gets locked away in prison to serve his time, it is up to Preppy to watch over their granny green business.

When one of the granny’s house gets targeted and robbed, Preppy does what he does best. He kills and gets his revenge. Don’t let the bow tie and smile fool you, Preppy is one badass mofo. As Preppy handles that end of the business, he finds himself saving a stranger who has a desire to end her life.

photo 05b63a5093785e54d5f3098475db58_zpsenfij4hu.gif “Colorful tattoos were inked over most of his skin. His defined abs flexed when he stretched his arms over his head. His biceps and forearms were lined with veins . He even had one of those V things that ran into his jeans and had me licking my lips like he was a steak and I was a hungry lion.”

Andrea Capulet is a drug addict and is living in her own personal hell. She wants to get better and be the good daughter that her father should have but drugs have always been her downfall especially when it comes to heroin. Andrea wants to forget her demons and so heroin is her escape. She tried knocking on death’s door several times but it seems a certain dirty talking and smart mouth gentleman with a penchant for bow ties doesn’t want her to get through.

photo 05b63a5093785e54d5f3098475db58_zpsenfij4hu.gif “It made sense that his body was built for sin, because the hold Samuel Clearwater had over me was something straight from the depths of hell.”

#Preppy2

Preppy saves Dre in more ways than one. He allows her to see that the drugs are nothing compared to this high that is brewing between them. The sexual fog and attraction soon becomes Preppy and Dre’s drug of choice. They needed the rough sex to feel alive. Both Preppy and Dre never intended this relationship to be forever, but they will soon discover that they will get blindsided by this thing called, love. Will Preppy be adding Dre to his list of pancakes, bow ties, suspenders, Grace, King, and Bear? Or will Dre discover that Preppy is one drug that she should have never got addicted to?

photo 05b63a5093785e54d5f3098475db58_zpsenfij4hu.gif “Preppy was very much like heroin. Being with him sent me into a state of euphoria, free from the trap of my own thoughts, my past, free from anything and everything on the outside of that little room. Outside of us and our tangle of limbs.”

T.M. Frazier sophisticatedly weaves the past and present in such a raw manner that allowed readers to see the progression and growth of Preppy. Samuel Clearwater may be the sidekick of King and Bear but in this story he is the main attraction. The many facets of Preppy is what attracts readers like myself to love and embrace Preppy and his crazy antics and behavior. This man knew pain and so he expresses his outlet and desires in such a different manner and Dre is the only one who can understand his need of power, roughness and control. Dre was indeed the perfect match to balance Preppy. In a sense, they were each other’s saving grace and missing piece. And what happens when the final piece returns back home to discover that the man she loved is still alive? I guess we will have to wait and see what Tracey has in store in the next book.

#Preppy

Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part One met my expectation and so much more. I loved every tidbit and fact that Tracey sprinkled throughout the story. There was still that element of grit and shock value that kept me entertained. Preppy is one of those crazy characters that you can’t help but love who secretly worms his way into your heart trying to steal the number one spot and dethrone his best friends, King and Bear. Did I enjoy this book? Hell yeah! Did I love the chemistry of Dre and Preppy? Absolutely! Tracey did a remarkable job highlighting that these two helped balanced each other. They were each other’s light and drug of choice. Their love was their addiction.

photo 05b63a5093785e54d5f3098475db58_zpsenfij4hu.gif “His frustration, his sadness, his hurt, his desire, his anger, his confusion, but there was something else there. Something stronger. More powerful. More everything. Above all else, I felt his love.”

With Tracey’s magnetic and raw prose, she has written a story that was a riot of entertainment and suspense. This book had depth and took on a deeper emotional undertone as readers got to see sacrifices, love, and addiction in a whole new light. So if you are ready to embrace and discover what makes Preppy tick then I suggest you better one click this book now!!

“Life’s too short to pretend to be anyone else. I’m just me. I say what I want to fucking say. I do what I want to do and I don’t fucking apologize for it.”

Preppy was one of my favorite characters in the ‘King’ series. If you’ve read those books, you know him and you love him #BecausePancakes. I am a long time fan of TM Frazier and I’ve read and loved all her books. That being said, I was so nervous to read this book. Because of all we learned about Preppy and the history in the other books, I couldn't tell if this book would be fantastic, or not work at all. It was a coin flip. I am so happy to report that it was FANTASTIC. I should never have doubted Tracey. I loved what she did with Preppy’s story!

Samuel Clearwater AKA Preppy hasn’t had an easy life. He had it rough growing up, but now he has his friends who are more like family, a lucrative business and his life is pretty darn good. When he meets Andrea or Dre, she is not in the same place as Preppy. She’s living with a lot of guilt. That guilt led her to drugs. She’s now strung out, doing whatever she can to chase that next high. Preppy and Dre meet in an interesting way. Even though she’s a junkie, he sees more in her.
“You want to be high? You can be high on me. You want to take the edge off? I’m gonna do just that, baby.”

 photo 02B32238-3ADD-4A2E-8410-BB5920EE6EE8_zpsvcrqqb1t.jpg

I wasn’t sure if I liked Andrea in the beginning. She was one of those characters that grew on me with time. She hit her rock bottom and Preppy helped bring her up. She’s tough and a fighter. As you know, I’ve always had a soft spot for Preppy. Not only is he hilarious, he’s outrageously inappropriate, damaged and loyal. Being in his head was fantastic. I laughed, I cried, I cringed and I smiled. I loved this book!

I’m so happy I started this book when I had time to read, because I read this one cover to cover. I didn’t want to put it down. Preppy’s story was so much more than I expected and I can’t wait for the next installment! I recommend this to everyone who’s read and loved the King series!
He was an addiction. I craved him, and I wanted more.

If you're like me, you've been waiting for Preppy's story ever since reading the first book in the 'King' series. There is something oddly endearing about the tattooed, bow-tie wearing, drug-dealing enigma, that is Preppy. Nothing about him can be described as typical, or even appealing on it's own. However, it just seems to work. You can't help but love him.

This book begins years earlier than the other books in the series. It takes you on a trip back in time, to when King was first sent to prison. Preppy, along with Bear, were left to try and hold everything together in his absence. While managing his Granny Growhouse "start-up", Preppy focused his energy on trying to figure out a way to adopt King's child.

When one of his growhouses gets robbed, Preppy comes to the rescue of Mirna, one of his "grannies". Low and behold, it is Mirna's own granddaughter, Andrea, that unbeknownst to her, set her grandmother up to be robbed. While her junkie friends manage to sneak away, Andrea, aka "Dre", does not.

Dre is at an all-time low in her life. She's a junkie. She's suffered unspeakable acts at the hands of her supposed "friends". She's betrayed those that she loves the most, including her own grandmother. With her own actions haunting her every waking moment, she decides to end her life.

When Preppy prevents Dre from taking a dive off the top of the water tower, he is immediately drawn to the pain in her eyes. Her suffering speaks to him and he finds himself wanting to be the cause of her tears. Yet, as time passes and Dre gets clean, his feelings for her grow into much more.

These two were a train wreck right from the start. Both of them were damaged and scarred by their pasts. It was the fact that they were both so broken that actually made them perfect for each other in so many ways.

I'm not going to lie and say that this book was perfect. It definitely isn't a rainbows and unicorns type of story. It is their imperfections that define these characters and their actions...and their actions are definitely imperfect.

Toward the end, their is one scene that will put off a lot of readers. I was so angry at both Preppy and Dre - but mostly, Preppy - that I had tears in my eyes. You'll want to scream, "How could you?" At the same time, it is that exact type of emotion-invoking scene that make a book great. Man, will it make you feel!

Overall, I thought it was a great book. I am looking forward to the next part of Preppy and Dre's story. I can't wait to see how everything will come together now that the rest of this cast of characters have settled into domestic bliss. It will be interesting to see how Preppy and Dre fit in or if they can work past their issues for the long haul. I'm betting that they can.

Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, is as twisted as the day is long. He's the devil in a disguise of suspenders, bowties, and button ups. When he saves a junkie girl from ending it all, the devil decides to come out and play.

Andrea ‘Dre’ Capulet just wants all the pain to end. Deciding to take a nosedive off a water tower seems like the only option left to her. When she is saved by a tattooed walking contradiction, it sets them both on a crash course towards love and death.

Gosh, I don't even know where to begin this review. I LOVED every second of this book. I was/am a HUGE fan of PREPPY in earlier books, so when I heard we were going to get a couple books featuring him, I overcame my abhorrence to cliffhangers and requested an ARC.

You think you know Preppy, he's nerdy, and sexy, and crazy, but he is SO much more than that. He's damaged, and broken, and sweet. Hearing about his past will break your heart. I wanted to reach into the book and give him a huge hug. Dre was an awesome character as well. Damaged and broken in her own right. She also showed great strength and resilience. Together her and Preppy light up the pages with anger, and tension, and passion.

Miz. Frazier's writing is flawless as usual. You'll be sucked in from page one. There is A LOT of story that takes place in this (the first of two) book(s). Your emotions will be pinballing all over the place. You'll be yelling "WTF" and "OMG." You'll be taking Miz Frazier's name in vain, as you think of all sorts of diabolical ways to get her to release book two sooner.

Really all there is left to say is READ THIS BOOK.

4 Bow Ties

Was there ever really a question of whether I was going to love this book or not? I have been a Preppy super fan ever since I first read about him in King. I was trying to wait to read this book until at least the second part came out. It's obvious I failed at that, and I am so glad I did!

I am going to do my best to make this review spoiler free, because I don't want to give away too much for anyone that either hasn't read all the previous books in the series or hasn't read this book. Believe it or not, those people actually do exist. I should know, I was one of them up until recently. Thankfully, I finally decided to take the plunge, because this series has been one of my favorites of 2016.

This story is told by Preppy and Dre in dual point of view. It begins at the time when King is first locked up, and Preppy is trying to help get his kid back from the state. During the book, we also flash forward several times to the present. I liked the way the author did this, and how everything came together in the end. There is a cliffhanger, but it isn't as bad as I thought I would be. However, it did leave me dying to read the next book!

My favorite thing about every installment of this series has always been the fantastic cast of characters. This book is no exception. The author excels at making lovable characters out of men you might normally see as anything but. She also manages to throw in some pretty awesome females along the way.

Before I read this, I wondered about the type of girl that would be the perfect match for Preppy. Preppy would definitely need a woman that is a little messed up herself, that would sympathize with him instead of judge him, who wouldn't be scared off by all of his many peculiarities, not to mention, someone that would be turned on instead of repulsed by his particular sexual tastes. Andrea "Dre" Capulet, a recovering drug addict, is most certainly that woman. She was the perfect love interest for Preppy. I am so glad I didn't hate her! Lol I only want the best for my favorite morally gray hero in this series. I think that's what I got with Dre.

“The first stirring of any kind of desire in over a year comes courtesy of the devil in a bow tie.
Man, I was really fucked up.”

As far as Preppy goes, with his bow ties, tattoos, suspenders, and foul mouth, what's not to love? I had no doubt that this book would only endear him to me further, and that's exactly what it did. Preppy always brought humor and light to any scene every time he appeared in the previous books. We get all of his usual charm in this book, but also a glimpse of something more.

"My strength had always been in my amazing ability to be completely and brutally honest. Of course, the gift of honesty was in addition to my sense of humor, wit, charm, character, striking good looks, phenomenal – yet classic sense of style, and last but not least, the tribungus slab of man meat dangling between my legs. But I motherfucking digress.”

You know what they say, the ones with the biggest smiles hide the most pain. In Preppy's case, truer words have never been spoken. I was so glad that in this book we finally get to see him break down, and be vulnerable. That's not weird is it? Lol I felt like for the first time I was seeing all of him, not just what was on the surface. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that the way he acts normally is phony at all. It is actually quite impressive. He really is grateful for everything and everyone he has in his life now, and doesn't want to dwell on the bad shit in the past all the time.

“Listen, life isn’t about what happened to you in your past, it’s about where you are now and where you’re going. Onward and upward and all that jazz.”

We bare witness to him doing something really disturbing and messed up in this book. One of the things I love about T.M. Frazier is that she isn't afraid to go there. A lot of authors make sure not to go too far with their broken or morally challenged heroes. They don't make them cross the line and do anything too disgusting or infuriating that might upset us or make us stop loving them. In other words, they play it safe. This author looks right at that line of safety, and then leaps right the hell over it! What Preppy does when he brings Dre back to Mirna's house is pretty freaking creepy and despicable. The thing is, Preppy is not just a "bad boy." He is a messed up, broken individual. We have been told time and time again about what a deviant he is, and we have seen him do or say some unsettling things in the past; but this showed us that behavior in a way we haven't witnessed before. We really get to see him, warts and all. In the end, I still can't help but love him. He was made into the man he is today by his demented stepfather, and he was failed and abandoned by his own mother that should have protected and cared for him.

Bear made a few appearances in this book. He's the same old Bear that we all know and love, but there is one scene with him that you may find particularly interesting toward the end of the book, if you can get over being angry at Preppy or upset about the whole situation. The other standout secondary character for me was Mirna. She is such an awesome lady, and my heart broke for her. I think T.M. Frazier must have one kick ass grandma or great aunt or something, because she writes some of the most amazing old women I have ever read about.

Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part One was another spectacular addition to the King series. The story was alluring, illuminating, gritty, and heartbreaking. The characters are raw and complex. The writing is captivating, expressive, and as always, will make you FEEL above all else. I highly recommend it to fans of the series, and readers that don't mind a little darkness in their romance. If you haven't started this series and you think it might be something you would like, please rectify that immediately!

I’m going to hurt you,” he said, undoing the top button of my shorts and pushing his hand into my panties, cupping my sex in his warm and powerful hand. He squeezed, just a little, a show of power. “I’m going to hurt you with my lips. With my fingers. With my cock. It’s going to be the best fucking pain you’ve ever felt.”

Damn you T.M. Frazier! Damn you and your evil genius! What are you doing to me? I can't even right now. First you shatter my cold black heart in Tyrant. Then you give me a smidgeon of hope with your evil teasing ways in Soulless. Then you make my pervy little heart's dreams come true with this book only to leave me with that cliffhanger? Woman, I will hunt you down and demand answers. I will glare at you until you finish the next book. I will wave my fists menacingly and look as threatening as I can while doing it to make sure that you do all of this right this very second. You hear me? You can't leave me like that! You just can't!! GAH!

Have you ever read a secondary character that was so vivid and so enigmatic that he almost stole the show? Because that's exactly what Samuel "Preppy" was to me in King. I loved his warped humor and the way that he was always making everyone around him laugh even with his warped past and his not so pretty present. This is a man that has seen hell and came out with a smile on his face and a bow tie on his neck. I was beyond thrilled to get his book.

Preppy takes us back before the timeline of King began. Speaking of King, I highly recommend reading this series in order to truly appreciate everything that is Preppy. While plenty of background is given, a lot could be lost on you having not read the previous books.
It made sense that his body was built for sin, because the hold Samuel Clearwater had over me was something straight from the depths of hell.

Andrea ‘Dre’ Capulet is at the end of her rope. Strung out, tired, she's living her own personal hell deep in the bowels of an addiction she can't kick.

Ready to end it all, Dre's attempt gets thwarted by a man that may be her savior or her new form of hell...
I didn’t just want to fuck her. I wanted to ruin her.

If you loved Preppy in the previous books, you will absolutely fall in love with him in this one. He's just as potent and just as charismatic except MORE. I couldn't get enough of him
You know, sometimes I’m not sure when you’re serious.” “Oh, well that’s easy to figure out. I’m always sometimes joking in a way that’s honest.” “Totally cleared that up.” “Glad I could help...”

Dre was an interisting character to say the least. It's not everyday you can read about an addict like that and yet feel an odd sort of...kinship to her. She should be desperate and weak considering her circumstances, but even though all that there was this sense of a steel backbone to her. An underlying strength that would make an appearance to show that not everything is as it seems. I loved the way that the author was able to convey that without taking away from her addiction. This wasn't someone that was magically healed and never wanted drugs again because she met a man. She was broken but not ruined.
He’d said he couldn’t keep me. That didn’t mean I wouldn’t always be his.

The timeline of this book runs before the one in King with some flashbacks that take place during the timeline in Soulless. It will answer many questions about Preppy while leaving you with plenty more. It was a gritty, sexy, dirty, violent ride that I never wanted to end. I loved every delicious and devious page. I love the way that T.M's mind works. The woman is an evil genius and I can't wait to see what she has in store for this couple next!!

Re-read update: STILL so very good. Couldn't put it down even when I knew everything that was going to happen!

4.5 Stars. Let me start off by saying that this is not a "safe" read no matter which way you slice it. Prep is messed up in ways that go beyond any hero I've ever read. I've got to commend Ms. Frazier for standing at the proverbial line, looking down, laughing, and flipping it off before skipping over it merrily lol I'll be honest in saying that Prep's proclivities had me dealing with a mix of apprehensive curiosity and unease. He took me out of my comfort zone and didn't fit into any box I've ever built in my mind about what a hero is. Despite my own perceived limits, I couldn't pull myself away from trying to figure out this deeply flawed complex hero. Then we get introduced to Dre and her story is just emotionally heart-wrenching. At the sunset of what she's been through and the spiral her life has taken is this glimpse of the woman she could be or perhaps once was. That part of her really resonated with Prep and brought out something in him that I needed to experience. There are some pretty darn special dimensions to him, her, and both of them together that made the leap worth it. Does the story have it's flaws? Yes. The plot is a little confusing with some jumps that leave many questions that I'm hoping will get answered next book. Additionally, Prep does something that is simply not ok. Not going to excuse it. The story is raw and unfiltered. It doesn't ask permission and it doesn't make excuses. I was hooked from beginning to end. Safety: There is sexual contact without penetration without consent. There is rape and physical/emotional abuse. Very graphic and trigger inducing.

This is clearly a case of it's me not you. I think I got my expectations up way too high before starting this and then disappointed myself. Just like everyone else I loved Preppy from the first time we met him in King. He's a character that is impossible to ignore and not many people would want to. So when I started this and was looking for way more of his insanity it was sad to see that there didn't seem to be much of it. Sure he was still cuckoo bananas, and we got to see his dark side, but it seemed to be toned down.

That doesn't mean I didn't like Preppy because, of course, I still loved him in all his bow tie glory. And I enjoyed that we got to see just how insane he could be when he let his dark side show. He may be colorful, wears a bow tie, and has a penchant for long conversations about absolute nonsense, but underneath all of that he's a man you should be scared of. There's a reason he hangs with King and Bear, after all.
"Upon first glance, the guy was about as scary as the Easter Bunny. Until I saw IT."

Andrea aka Dre aka Doc was nothing more than a junkie looking for her next fix or a way to end it all. Until Preppy showed up and saved her from herself. He gave her a way out of her life of destruction and then planned to go on his own way. But there was something about her bruised and bloodied body that he couldn't ignore. And don't think that it was him wanting to fix her, it was him wanting to see more of those bruises, more of that fearful look she had on her face. So he decided she wasn't going anywhere but with him.

Preppy's story is told in dual perspectives and mostly in the past, with only some parts of the present. It starts three years earlier to where the last book left off and by the end you're left off in the present with tons more questions. I think that was one of my main problems with this book. I knew it was going to end on a cliffhanger and I was fully prepared for that. But I thought we would at least get some answers to the million questions swirling around my head. Instead I felt left in the dark even more and I needed at least hints of what was to come in order for my interest to be held.

Did I like Dre and Preppy's story? Definitely. But I wanted more feelings and emotions to come from it. I knew Preppy had a very dark soul, and I was looking forward to getting that part of him that's hidden behind that cheerful guy he looks like. For me, it didn't happen though. I felt as if we were told that he was a crazy and dark person but not shown. Sure he killed people and he lusted after Dre's pain but there was never a moment that I sat back and though "Fuck this guy is insane." We did get to explore that dark side more and I enjoyed it, just wanted more of it to be fully satisfied.

I plan on doing a re-read of this when the second book is out and maybe reading them together, when I can get my answers, will change my feelings on this book. I know my too-high expectations were a big factor in me not enjoying this as much as I wanted too, so I'm not going to make the same mistake for Part Two.

5 love never dies stars

For most people, death is the end of their story. For Preppy and Dre, it was only the beginning…

...and what a beginning it was.

Samuel Clearwater a.k.a Preppy has been a man after our hearts, he has this way about him that makes you instantly fall in love even while knowing the darkness that is right under his skin. He has an uncanny ability to make you laugh while putting you under his spell with his charm.

Of course, the gift of honesty was in addition to my sense of humor, wit, charm, character, striking good looks, phenomenal—yet classic—sense of style, and last but not least, the tribungus slab of man meat dangling between my legs.

But I motherfucking digress.

Dre is tired of living her life doped up, used and abused. She believes she deserves everything that has come her way, and wants to just end it all…. little did she knew she would get a fresh start all thanks to a man with A wicked smile, a bow tie…and a gun. Her second chance at life comes with a price, and the price may leave her worse off then she was. At least with her first love, heroine, she only messed with mind and body while keeping her heart safe. But Samuel threatens to shatter her already fragile heart.

I wanted to see her sad. Taste her tears. I wanted to know what she sounded like when she cried. In pain, in pleasure, in both. The thought of me being the one to make her cry was my undoing.

Dre is the solution Preppy needs to balance the wrongs in his life, but he must get her healthy and safe. Even if it means keeping his hunger in check. Their attraction and chemistry threatens to burn them up, and they have to decide is one night worth it all...
“You want to be high? You can be high on me. You want to take the edge off? I’m gonna do just that, baby.

She needs to learn how to live again and Preppy is just the man to show her how. Life is short. Death is final. There just wasn’t enough fucking time.

Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part One is the fifth book in the King series, it honestly gets better each and every single time. I fell in love with Preppy during the first book, and since then he's made me laugh, cry and feel everything in-between. He is fiercely loyal and has such a big heart. He is the ultimate friend to have to lighten any mood but trust to have your back and take care of business. He was such a contradiction and the only explanation is that he's Preppy.

Dre was not who I was expecting for Preppy, but they make perfect sense together. She is everything he needs but can't have making their love affair all the more tragic. The story is told from both their POV so we get into their minds, and while Dre's was sad, lonely and scared, Preppy's was light, twisted and completely him.

The topics discussed in the book may be triggers to some, but the way it was delivered and told turns it into not so dark read. Since this is "Part One", we go in knowing that this is only the beginning and that ending just proves there is so much more to be told. That ending made me want to stand up and applaud for a very well played twist. Absolutely LOVED it, and I can't wait for the next.

I recommend this to all my friends, I can't imagine anyone not falling for Preppy...he is just one of a kind. You should go all the way back and start with King, it's only fair to get the full effect of these books as each one feeds into the other and sometimes collide.

Copy kindly provided by the author, via *Sixty First Reads*, for an honest review.

“I never knew true fear until I met pure evil. He wore a smile and a bow tie.”

Preppy: The Life and Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part One is the fifth book in the King Series. Every single book in this series is stacked with action and complex characters that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire read. From the very first moment I met Preppy, I knew he was one character that I could never get enough of.

description
“Listen, life isn’t about what happened to you in your past, it’s about where you are now and where you’re going. Onward and upward and all that jazz.”
Preppy has survived a horrific childhood. Clinging to his two best friends Bear and King, Preppy is one kinky character. He likes things a bit rough and raw. He is energetic, outgoing, and quite witty. When Preppy's work brings a broken heroine addict drops on his doorstep, someone finally knocks him off his feet!

description
“He'd said he couldn't keep me. That didn't mean I wouldn't always be his .”
Andrea Capulet is a broken heroine addict that just wants to get home. Abused by her companions, she finds herself in the middle of a crime gone horribly wrong. When a wild man with a bow tie brings her safely out of the brinks of death, a bond is formed. Preppy and Dre have personal demons to battle, an explosive attraction to each other, and the desire to protect themselves from the pain of heartbreak. As much as Preppy would love to keep Dre by his side forever, he knows that she can never truly be his.

description
"For most people, death is the end of their story. For Preppy and Dre, it was only the beginning..."
Told in dual POV, Preppy is simply stunning. The complex plot is emotionally driven with grit and heart. Although you can read this as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the series from Book 1 to fully enjoy each nuance of each character. The way in which their lives intertwine and their bonds are forged are critical to understanding the full story arc. I would love to divulge more details regarding the plot, and yet, I feel like this is one read that you must go in blind. The best element of this read is the strong character development and the tempo of the pacing in the text. The dialogue flowed so naturally and paired with the smoking hot scenes (one in particular that I will never forget) it's a perfect blend! It seems like every single time I pick up a T.M. book I am so wrapped up in the story that I seem to read and blink and then it's over. I savor every single moment with these characters, and I am DYING for the next book in the series.

description

I simply cannot recommend Preppy enough. If you like your characters rough and raw, then this is one series you MUST put on your Kindle now! There is simply no way to describe the man with the bow tie other than PERFECTION! And as for Dre, I couldn't have asked for a better heroine for him! Together they are unstoppable! I am sure the road will be riddled with many challenges ahead, and yet, I am certain Ms. Frazier will not disappoint! I am counting down the days for more Preppy and Dre!

I love Samual Clearwater. He is a Badass MOFO!

Of course we all know from reading books 1-4 that Preppy is the most interesting character of them all. We also know that he died at the end of book one in a shootout at the MC which was set-up by Bear’s Father. Prep had such a profound effect on everyone’s lives that they all have been hearing inner commentary in his voice since he died.

At the end of book 4 we found that Bear’s father had been keeping a hidden prison in the MC clubhouse where he was starving and torturing a bunch of prisoners, former club members, club whores, and even Bear’s Mother until she escaped. Preppy has been kept there also and was very near death.

This book looks back on a romance Preppy had with a girl named Dre during the time that King was in Prison and Bear was away on a long ride with the MC. It has alternating chapters forwarded to the the time when Preppy was being held in the MC prison to show how that happened and what went on during that time.

Like the other books, the romance is ultra hot and steamy, even a bit dark and twisted, but not as bad as you would expect from what you have heard about Preppy in previous books. The story is great and unpredictable just like the others. You can’t help but love Samuel Clearwater. I would definitely marry him!

5 UNDERSTATEMENT of the F*CKING YEAR STARS

First off, I would like to remind everyone that when you go into this series it is not for the faint of heart! It is dark and twisted and utter perfection! If this is the type of books you like to read and you haven't read this series...*tsk *tsk! SMH! Now onto the review!

“...what I had seen would be burned into my brain and haunt me forever.
A wicked smile, a bow tie…and a gun.”

I absolutely fell in love with Preppy in King (book 1)! He was a charismatic, walking contradiction physically and emotionally! To be honest, I was super excited for his book but I wasn't sure how T.M. Frazier was going to pull off a "love" story for him! Where she could really make me believe that he falls in love and create a perfect girl for him.

Well let me tell you, I tip my hat to you TM Frazier! OMG! I not only could see his love for Dre I could actually feel that love! I was CONSUMED by it! I don't think you could have created a more perfect soul mate for Preppy! You are a freakin Evil Ginger Genius!!! To know that Preppy lives somewhere in that mind of yours, makes me just want to spend the whole day with you! It's hard to explain, but it's almost like these character speak through TM Frazier! Not to sound creepy or weird, but she really does a remarkable job of breathing her characters to life! It blows me away!

““I pressed my hand over his heart which was beating a thousand miles a minute. “He’s not here, though, and that’s a start.”.... “No room for him in there,” he said, resting his chin on my stomach. “Because you’re in there, and for a tiny thing you take up a f*ck of a lot of space.”

For a series that is so dark, I was legit laughing through the whole book! Everything this kid says is freakin hilarious! Not only is Preppy a contradiction but so is this book!

“....That’s blackmail.”
“I know you’re upset but there’s no need to be racist.”

 photo E95DC424-4ACE-47DC-B5D7-85F312F8553D_zpsqpby6f9a.gif

As most of you know, I'm in LOVE with Bear! He is my ultimate book husband! So I was super happy that he had a few cameos in this one! Including a super, sexy scene!

“A giant of a man with blond hair stepped in front of me, obscuring my view of the party down below. He looked very much like a tattooed viking. His blue eyes were the brightest I’d ever seen. “Hey, beautiful,” he said, with a slow southern accent.”

"I motherf*cking digress"

This is Book 5 of the King Series by T.M Frazier! And Preppy's story will be told in 3 Parts! You need to read this series if you like some Crazy in your books!! Add this to your TBR!

“Those bright-blue eyes and all that mess of blond hair, tattoos, and muscles, would make any girl twitchy for a touch. Bear did it for me, but that was just basic biology."

 photo EB943FC0-9751-435C-9F5C-023C91B29ADF_zpsbsqr8wcb.jpg

“Again, I motherf*cking digress.”

I know everyone will be asking! And yes! She did it to us again! Nothing new there though! There is a cliffhanger but I can tell you it's not as drastic as the rest in the series! It's more a...."No!!!!! I want to keep reading their story!!!!" feeling! So rest assured! She didn't torture us too bad this time! That last line though!!!!! Omg!

Genre: Contemporary Romace
Type: Book 5 of King series
POV: First Person Dual
Rating:

Samuel Clearwater a.k.a. Preppy grew up in an abusive household. He used his past as a motivation to make something out of his life - even if that something was not exactly straight with the law.

Andrea (Dre) Capulet was a desperate junkie at the end of the line. Just when she thought the ending was in sight, she was saved. With Preppy's help, she was determined to straighten her life, but it proved to be a hard task when the one who saved her had his own demons lurking.

Preppy is my favorite character in the series since book 1. He totally stole the spotlight and I'm glad he finally deservedly get his own spotlight to bask in.

“I say what I want to fucking say. I do what I want to do and I don’t fucking apologize for it.”

What made Preppy endearing to me was his charm. He's honest with no filter which made him hilarious. The things that came out if his mouth were priceless. And most importantly he had a good heart. But I also love how he hid his dark side behind his flawless veneer.

I wanted to see her sad. Taste her tears. I wanted to know what she sounded like when she cried. In pain, in pleasure, in both.

Dre was one messed up character but I can't help but want to root for her. Her past dictated her present, and while she struggled, I also like how she made effort to fight it.

I never knew true fear until I met pure evil. He wore a smile and a bow tie.

Even though I feel like the story is a little drawn out, I really like how both of them were similar, but also opposite. While Dre's brokenness was overt, Preppy's was hidden.

The sexy scenes, well hello, they were mmm, mmm... good. Or maybe finger licking good? lol! Oh yeah Preppy is a (hard and rough) sexy fucker :P

Based on the ending if this book, I'm not quite sure which direction it would go, but I'm definitely looking forward to more of Preppy.

Bowtie...'till I DIE.

PREPPPY: So this is what we know and have grown to love about 'Preppy'

Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, he LOVES Kat Fenton (Oh my bad) and a good f*ck.

BUT there is so much more to him than meets the eye..

In order to get the best reading experience it's recommended that you read the other four main books in the KING series first. (King, Tyrant, Lawless & Souless). You need to go back and read where we all fell in love with Preppy. Told in Dual Perspectives "Preppy & Dre"

In the 'Prologue' we read that in fact Preppy is alive which is where the previous book left off.

In order to understand where it all went so terribly wrong we're transported back to the PAST (Three Years Earlier). Back to where he was robbed of his plants, back to where he saved a drug addict, back to where he met Dre.

It's just like coming home after a long assed journey, the feels you get as soon as you start reading Preppy's story knocks you for a sixer.

"I'll show him the Preppy special."
"What exactly is the Preppy special?" Bear asked.
I made the shape of a gun with my thumb and index finger.
"A bullet with a side of bow tie."
I shot my finger gun and made my best exploding gun noise with my mouth.

This book will uncover the many layers that make up Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, like the peeling of an onion layer upon layer well uncover what makes Preppy tick. Some may think he's an unhinged psychopath, a genius, a killer, a pompous git wearing a bow tie, but peel away more layers and you'll also see a quick witted, loyal, protective man who we all claimed as ours way back in the beginning BUT *whispers* he's really mine!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic It made sense that his body was built for sin.
Because the hold Samual Clearwater had over me was something straight from the depths of hell.

His clothes consist of pastels and suspenders, a nerd you'd likely encounter at your local library hunched over a library book, BUT look again, Upon first glance, the guy was as scary as the Easter Bunny. Look again, closer and you'll see more clearly. Until I saw it. It was a spark. Just a glint of depravity lurking behind his amber eyes.

Going into this book and knowing that it's written in Preppy's own words you know it's not going to be light and fluffy, because thats not Preppy though he is a walking contradiction. His past is dark, gritty, and I think that's what Dre and him have in common, her darkness and secrets calls to that side of himself, the side he tries to keep hidden, but now and then you'll catch a glimpse of it.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic I never knew true fear until I met pure evil.
He wore a smile and a bow tie.

T.M. Frazier... I want to thank you for creating this book. I want to thank you for gifting me an early copy of this book because release day wasn't soon enough for me (I've got a copy on pre-order to add to my Frazierland collection). You have the incredible knack of creating lovable bastards and bishes. Thank you for breathing life back into my most beloved character, Preppy. I love all of the men, but with Preppy... my heart has been broken through too many books. When Doe/Ray read his letter and obituary aloud, it lightened the pain (because of the laughs), but this book (and the one to come) removed it. THANK YOU!!

There was everything to love about this book. Preppy. Andrea (Dre). Pancakes. Preppy's sarcasm. His mind. His quirks. His sweetness. His scariness. His pain and his triumphs. This book was full of many small, wonderful moments that amounted to a beautiful story.

There are times when I've dived into a much loved series where I was disappointed. NOT HERE! I really wasn't sure what to expect. Was it going to be Preppy's POV of what already took place? Or would it be something new, fresh and unique? Obviously I went into this blind. I didn't want to spoil my experience with what was being said on social media. The author gave me what I was looking for and I'm extremely grateful. I got Preppy aka BADA** MOFO and I couldn't be happier!

Told through flashbacks and in real time, the reader sees the little and big picture. We fall in love with Dre, a junkie trying to clean up her act, but Preppy definitely stole the show. His character in this book stayed true to who we all know and love. #Bowtie til I die for real.

There's the requisite killing and angst and intensely hot sex. Who knew how incredibly hot (sexually) Preppy was??? Well, I know now. So freaking hot!!

But I digress.

This book was about so much more than that. It was about life and death, desperation, hopelessness, grief, guilt, finding redemption, and falling unexpectedly in love. We get a real look into what makes Preppy tick. Although we got some of his background through King, the picture is much clearer when received through Preppy.

Honestly, this book made me even more of a Preppy fan girl. Not sure how that's even possible because I was already a tad bit obsessive. Anyone who knows me can tell you that he's always been my fave. Yes, I do love them all, but he has determinedly found a way to stand out. It's the personality that this character embodies. The sarcasm and the quick wit mixed with the charming and the psycho. The same reason I love Sterling Archer and the Ryan Reynold's Deadpool portrayal. Freaking bloody and fantastic! I love my men dark and twisted with a sense of humour and a dash of the debonair.

This book barely satisfied me because I need more!! Dammit it's like feeding an obese man some salad. GIMME MEAT!! Preppy Part II cannot come fast enough for me. Nuff said!

******************************************************
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEkkk!! I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED RIGHT NOW!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! BRING ME MY PREPPY!! #BowtieTilIDie

When I first started this series I had no idea that I would fall in love with it so much. "King" gave me a taste of the bad boy that we all love, and just the mention of his name gives me shivers. Then we got "Bear" and I was freakin RUINED!! He was the epitome of a BAD ASS and I loved every single thing about him hands down.

Then Tracy gave us this colorful take no sh*t mixed in with a side of crazy, character named "Preppy". And you know what happened? I was ruined again!. Samuel Clearwater is the one character that not only made me laugh out loud with his crazy antics but also left me EXTREMELY nervous because let's be honest for a moment: The boy is 7:30 CRAZY AS HELL!

"Life's too short to pretend to be anyone else. I'm just me. I say what I want to fuckingsay. I do what I want to fucking do and I don't fucking apologize for it.

Andrea a.k.a Dre has been knocking on death's door for quite some time now. With a heroin addiction that's taking over every aspect of her life, being beaten black and blue, she's well on her way to Screw Ville Ave with no other passengers but herself. At one of the lowest points in her life, she's rescued by the tatted up bow tie wearing, Preppy. But Dre is about to learn that there's more than meets the eye when it comes to him and fear is a feature that he craves off of.

"I never knew true fear until I met pure evil. He wore a smile and a bow tie.

With a messed up childhood that no amount of therapy can cure, to say Preppy is not normal is a huge understatement. He sees things differently, his sexual appetite is more on the dark side and he gives zero effs what you think about him. But the one thing he cares about are his two best friends King and Bear who would do anything for each other. So when he meets Dre, he notices that foreign feeling of wanting to protect her but make no mistake, he's still Preppy. And PAIN is his middle name.

I loved how Tracy incorporated the past and present for this story. I think everyone wanted to know exactly what happened to Preppy in the past and how he survived the capture. But my only issue is that I would've liked more detail into those things and as much as I loved Preppy( I really do) he felt kind of tamed. I was expecting him to be a little bit more darker so when I saw those brief glimpses of his dark side, I paid more attention and I reveled in it.

Now as for the ending? Thank you for making my pressure go up Tracy!! You'll be receiving my bill shortly. If you're a fan of this series, you really don't want to miss out on this one.

5 The in between STARS

"Baby girl. If hurt is what you want, hurt is what I can do.”

description

"You can hate me while I fuck you”
description

Preppy llego y me enamoro otra vez, de una manera mas apacionada, mas cruda, mas depravada y sádica.
"I wanted to see her sad. Taste her tears. I wanted to know what she sounded like when she cried. In pain, in pleasure, in both. The thought of me being the one to make her cry was my undoing."

Preppy llego y no lo hizo solo. Trajo consigo a Bear, y juntos nos hicieron desear poder tenerlos a los 2.

description

description

Preppy nos miro de frente y nos dijo de la manera mas repulsiva y cruda como lo abandono su madre y como lo violaba su padrastro. Esos dolorosos recuerdos que le han causando tanto sufrimiento.

“He made me this monster. I’m sick and I’m twisted, and it’s because he couldn’t keep his fucking hands to himself!”
description

Y también llego alguien mas:

Dre

"She was a junkie.
Bruised. Broken.
Vulnerable."

description

"He’d said he couldn’t keep me. That didn’t mean I wouldn’t always be his."

description

"We were over well before we had a chance to get started.”
description

Preppy you are MY GOOD BOY, and I love you so fuckin much, to the moon and back. Nos reencontraremos el 27 de enero.

"For most people, death is the end of their story.
For Preppy and Dre, it was only the beginning…”

Let me start by saying from the moment I met Preppy, I loved him if you read this series you probably do too. However, if you haven’t read Preppy yet you don’t even realize how much you love him. I started out thinking this guy is hilarious and I love funny, but I also love broken characters and Preppy is damaged. When I read this book I was in awe of how much I could really love a character.

Preppy isn’t a ‘good guy’ but he sure does look the part. In his bowtie and khakis, he is a complete contradiction to his tattoos. Throw in his give-zero-shits attitude and he is a conundrum you can’t take help but be mesmerized with. Andrea, Dre, meets Preppy under extreme circumstances and she is equal parts pulled in and afraid of him. Like Preppy is she broken and believes she is past the point of being saved.

So if you have read this series you know a little about Preppy, but I won’t spoil. I can just tell you that when Frazier released he was getting a book I was immediately like wait, what, how. I had my idea of how this story would play out and this wasn’t it. When I heard his story would be three books long I was again wondering how. After reading this book, I can see it and I couldn’t be more excited for his full story.

I love how she is telling his story, it's absolutely perfect! It allows us to truly get to know Preppy, not King’s Preppy or Bear’s Preppy, just Preppy. The broken soul who made my heart fall in love with him. We get to know him, his past, his fears, and his desires. After getting to know him he is my favorite character in this series. He made me laugh out loud with his witty comebacks and banter, but also made me feel so much.

Frazier has completely blown me away with this story. It’s phenomenal and one of my favorites of her’s. Preppy is a book I without a doubt recommend and as soon as I can get my hands on the next installment it will be the first thing I read. Preppy made me laugh, cry and fall completely in love with these characters.

I must admit, Preppy's book is one of my most highly anticipated reads of this year. With that comes a bit of trepidation- of fear for too high of expectations. Preppy is one of those side characters we've met and gotten to attach to right from the beginning with King. His humor and wit is such a welcome contradiction to the darkish anti-hero nature of these books.

 photo 611913F6-6262-4234-9B9C-5716661236E0_zpsrs6c3yz4.jpg

A kid that was once saved by a bully on the playground by King is now a grown man dressed in a hipster motif. But don't let the bow-tie, button down, and perfectly pressed slacks fool you. Preppy has a darkness from deep within that's masked by his humor.

I would even go as far as to say that my strength had always been in my amazing ability to be completely and brutally honest. Of course, the gift of honesty was in addition to my sense of humor, wit, charm, character, striking good looks, phenomenal—yet classic—sense of style, and last but not least, the tribungus slab of man meat dangling between my legs. But I motherfucking digress.

But only until he finds junkie Andrea (Dre) atop a water tower, ready to jump, does his life take a drastic change of course.

T.M. Frazier nailed Preppy's character in this book. I must admit I had a constant sh*t-eating grin throughout reading this book. He's so endearingly complex- flawed and violent, tattooed and beard, yet caring and dressed like he's headed to a Wallstreet job. I loved him!

But I motherfucking digress...

Dre is also a bit of a contradiction. Strung out on heroine, life hasn't always been this tough. But getting with the wrong crew dragged her down to the lowest depth- stealing from her grandma with dementia. It's only when Preppy catches her and her hoodlums in the act does her life change...for the better...or not.

I read this book in a day. I couldn't put it down. It's that good. Preppy is a character you can't help but love and pray for a happily ever after with love. Couple that with the tough life Dre has had, they're perfectly suited as long as their demons don't get in the way. I cannot wait for the second installment in this series! Back from the dead, they must get their happy ending!

OMG I've always loved Preppy but now I'm in Love with him.

This book was nothing of what I was expecting. It was sooo much more. We get to see layers of Preppy we haven't seen in any of the other books and honestly they surprised me and made me love him even more.

Dre was perfectly imperfect for Preppy

She's had a rough few years and she was on a downward spiral when she collide with Preppy.

If you have already read this series you already know that T.M. Frazier is the queen of cliffhangers and this one wasn't the exception although it's kind of a giving when the book title said part one. I kinda knew where this book was going to end that it wasn't going to be far off to where Soulless end.

And now I can't freaking wait for part two!!!

When I first heard that the crazy, psychotic, Preppy was getting a book; I was so excited!!!! Probably even a bit scared, because I couldn't imagine how we were going to find any kind of normalcy, or romance in Preppy's life. I have anticipated this book for a long time now, so when the 24 hour countdown begun until it was going to show up on my Kindle...it was painful to wait for it!!! I had my Buddy read all set up, and I knew Steph and I were going to need to hold one anothers hand through this book!! Unfortunately, none of the above happened. I want to cry....I am quite disappointed by what I read. There were glimpses of the dry humor that Preppy has, but only glimpses. The first half of the book literally not much really happened. I am not kidding..It did start to offer some decent scenes towards the end of the book; but nothing that I expected from Preppy.

I don't mean to be negative, as I said, there were even a few scenes that I really enjoyed; but when I cracked open Preppy's book I expected utter chaos, and cringe worthy scenes unlike I have witnessed in any of my stories before. After all, Preppy is one of those characters whom there IS no compare to. He is messed up. In my opinion, he is way too tame in this book...He had some moments; but to be honest; I have seen worse. I must be extremely Jaded, and have read some real dark books I guess, because this one had no shock value what so ever.

As far as Andrea aka "Dre" goes (she is his heroine) I felt she was not near a strong enough personality for a guy like Prep. I am not loving her much; but I will remain hopeful in the second book that she will grow as a person.

This book is done in two parts, and that being said you can expect a cliffy. The good news is that I didn't find the cliffy that wowing, so I am not sitting here sweating for the next story.
I am sorry folks....I have to be honest in my feelings and that is what they are. It breaks my heart as I love this series, and I love T.M. Frazier...(I still do) this was just a big miss for me. I didn't hate it; but like I said; I was extremely disappointed. On the positive side, the sex was H.O.T.!!!!

A lot of other readers are loving it, so this seems to be the case of "It's me"....I just had to write what I feel in my heart!

☆4 Preppylicious Stars!☆

"What exactly is the Preppy special? A bullet with a side of bow tie."

I love Preppy! Forget King and Bear, give me more Preppy! This character needs to be real. He needs his own clothing line, his own tv show or something. What I'm trying to say is Preppy is the man and I can't get enough of him! The crazier and weirder he is the more turned on I get! How does one use suspenders, bow ties and guns in the same sentence...only Preppy. I want to tame him and make him my own!

I just recently started reading the King series, so for me I didn't have much of a wait like most of Preppy fans, but nonetheless I was still dying to get my hands on this book! T.M. has outdone herself with Preppy. This may be my fave book by her to date. Yes there were parts of the story that I felt didn't quite connect, and some parts bothered me, but then again it is a dark, twisted, disturbing sort of read. I do hope in book 2 we get a better idea of how he came alive after death. This book was more like a pre-death Preppy, but I'm not complaining!

If you're a fan of T.M. Frazier and the King series then you definitely want to read this!

You thought Preppy was dead...you thought wrong.

Yes, I thought he was dead....and that's the reason I delayed reading his story for more than 3 years. I hate reading about dead men walking.
What a huge mistake! The beginning of his trilogy was heartwrenching, but also so much more.

We finally learn everything about Mr Clearwater, his childhood, his absent mother, his abuser, what shaped him to be Preppy.

I loved this guy! Although as a typical pig-headed man does everything to drive the love of his life away.

Favourite scenes:
1. When his mother asks for his forgiveness and he manages NOT to kill her slowly and painfully.
2. Preppy, Dre and Bear. What an unexpectedly hot scene!

Update:

Okay, I just finished listening to the audiobook version. And OMFG IT WAS SO GOOD, I could cry. Everything was heightened and I felt EVERYTHING. That's when I know it's a really brilliant one. I mean, the book itself is already phenomenal as it is. But nothing can compare to listening to Dre and Samuel go through all of that.

This is honestly one of the best audiobooks I've listened to. Huge kudos to Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh for knocking this one out of the park! Definitely the perfect narrators to bring both Preppy and Dre to life! Sort of. Well, in my ears. LOL!

So, T.M. Frazier definitely knows how to leave a girl hanging! How can three measly, common words blow my freaking world up to smithereens? Everything you think you know? Nope, it's not always as it seems with this author! She'll leave you guessing and gasping and trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together. She'll make you contemplate and want to flip back on the pages, thinking there's something you missed or must've skipped. Because HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? But hey, it's a crazy game of waiting and wanting more of Preppy now. We all just wish we wouldn't die of too much pondering and anticipation before Part Two comes out. Because seriously. Preppy. And that ending.

Preppy's story is most certainly one of the most anticipated reads I've had ever since King's book came out. Because let's be honest, we can never lose hope no matter what. He made an impression, stole our hearts, made pancakes, and that's all we need. I was one of those insane readers who demanded that he should get his own book, regardless of the circumstances back then. And then Bear's books came out. We got to the ending...And voila! We all went mad as a freaking hatter with the revelation and news.

I had a feeling, diving into this book, that majority of it would be flashbacks showing us who Preppy really was way back when, his childhood, how he met Dre, and what really went on with him behind the scenes during the times we were having our fun with King and Bear. Some would probably be turned off or be confused as hell with the timeline, but that's one of the reasons why you should definitely read the first four books in the series before getting into this one. Because Part One of Preppy's story begins even before the start of King's book. And I loved it. It was tricky, but if you're one of those who really followed this series, you won't have that much of a hard time adjusting with the timeline.

Samuel "Preppy" Clearwater was everything I expected and so much more. Others would probably think they'd get the full-on deranged and sadistic side of the guy, but I think T.M. Frazier went on a deeper angle here. Yes, Preppy, I totally went there. There were surely flashes of his wild side, but Frazier also showed us a side of Preppy that we weren't so familiar with when we read the previous books in the series. We were well aware of his crazy jokes and sarcastic remarks that never failed to crack us up, but there was so much more to him than that. I must say, I think I may have fallen even more in love with Preppy after reading this. And I'm not sure if I can survive both the wait and getting more of his story, because this already killed me so good. Just imagine starting Part Two with everything going on in the present, now that we're all caught up to speed.

What I wasn't expecting was Andrea "Dre" Capulet. I probably shouldn't have been surprised with how she and Preppy met, but there I was, stunned silent. Dre, or Doc as Preppy likes to call her more, might've been a strung out junkie when she met him, but she has one hell of a story that would make you cringe and have your heart shattering too. She may appear weak, like she can be tossed aside without much effort, but her heart was a lot more salvageable. And stronger. I just loved how she gets everything he says, especially his humor. I love that she goes along with whatever he wants to talk about and lets him speak his mind without interrupting. And I loved how similar they are, how kindred their spirits are, before they even recognized and realized what was going on between them. And that makes her an even more perfect match for this guy. They just...worked.

T.M. Frazier, I love you, but I'm begging you, please don't make us wait too long for the next one. Because those last three words will be the death of a whole lot of people in the world of Frazierland. It will definitely haunt me until I get Part Two, that's for damn sure!

♥ ♥ ♥ 4.25 STARS ♥ ♥ ♥

'I wanted to see her sad. Taste her tears. I wanted to know what she sounded like when she cried. In pain, in pleasure, in both.'

I was super excited when I heard that Preppy was getting his own book. I just loved him in the previous books of the King series. He provided the much needed comic relief and was just an overall awesome guy. I will admit, though, that I was a bit afraid I wouldn't like his book, but I shouldn't have worried because the book was really good.

If you have read the King Series then you are very familiar with Samuel Clearwater, a.k.a. Preppy. Preppy had a really crappy childhood full of abuse. The only good thing that happened to him was finding his best friends, King and Bear. They all grew up together as each other's only family and sort of saved each other. Now, Preppy has made a name for himself and is doing really good with his business, "Granny Growhouses." So, he cannot believe that some people have broken into and robbed one of them. Preppy isn't letting anyone get away without getting revenge, and that is exactly what he does.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

“You want to be high? You can be high on me. You want to take the edge off? I’m gonna do just that, baby.”

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

This where Andrea, a.k.a. Dre comes into the picture. Dre is a heroine junkie living in a hellish situation she desperately wants to escape from but that her addiction keeps her prisoner of. She is the reason why her grandmother's house was robbed, she just had no idea what was inside of one of her rooms or that all of it belonged to Preppy. When he finds out what is happening he goes after the people to get his revenge. Preppy finds Dre and ends up sort of saving her. Dre wants to turn her life around because she feels so much guilt, she just doesn't know how. Preppy doesn't let people get away with doing stuff to him, but there is something about Dre that interests him.

The more time these two spend together, the more intense their attraction became. I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't sure if Dre would be a heroine that I would like for Preppy, but she actually was. Preppy was his usual bow-tie wearing, pancake loving self but Dre brought out other parts of him that I loved. Preppy showed her a whole new different high in their chemistry, something they both became addicted to.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

'He'd said he couldn't keep me. That didn't mean I wouldn't always be his.'

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

I don't want to give too much of the story away. I will say that I was hooked from the start. I loved that it flowed from the past to the present so well. I still very much loved Preppy. He was full of hilarious comments that had me laughing. In the end, I liked how Dre and Preppy complimented and saved each other. The ending of this book was crazy good that I could not put it down. I cannot wait for the second installment to know what happens next. I just know it's going to be so freaking good.

Title: Preppy
Author: T.M. Frazier
Category: Romance, dark
Series or Standalone: Part of a series
POV: Dual
Plot: 5
Characters: 5
HEA: Not telling

What did I just read??? OMG. Get ready for Samuel Clearwater!!!!!!
Finally we have Preppy's story and what a journey it is!
Samuel is one of the most complex character ever; funny in his own dark way, clever and of you are a fan of the King series you have to read this book!
What happens when a man with dark appetites, killer smile and a bowtie meets an exhausted and emotionally unstable young woman?
Dre is a good person but heroine has destroyed her life and her relationship with her family and friends. When she returns to the one home that has ever felt welcome, she never expected to meet a man who has the power to either destroy her or save her.
T.M. Frazier has brought Preppy to life in an amazing way! His character is brightly painted in vivid technicolor and his personality felt so real that you could almost touch it through the pages. Excellent characterization of a character that I've loved through the entire series. I loved Dre; she was a refreshing character and despite her addiction she was so strong.
Also, Bear is in the book, girls!!!! Dear God, I fangirled so hard!!!
I highly recommend this book. Do not miss it.
5 Stars!!!
