I’m just starting a new role after an extended stay in a previous appointment. I wanted to reread this little gem because it is not prescriptive. No formulaic simple steps and no sense of overwhelm, but plenty of “thoughtful reflection” that provokes the thoughtful reflection required for the ground upon which I tread in these days. Leaves me wanting to shape my own “long friendship with God” and to “live hopefully every day.”

This is a very honest and helpful book about leadership and what we can learn from the Bible. Using stories like Elijah in 1 Kings 19, Ruth and Samuel, the author explores themes such as the pain of leadership, commitment and change. I have found this book incredibly helpful and made notes of the lessons I have learnt from it. I highly recommend it.

A refreshing, practical, honest and scripture-based reflection on Christian leadership.

An easy read but plenty food for thought. One I’m sure that I’ll read again and again.
