A stellar read on the new trends in digi-urbandev!
Cases of Barcelona and Palava discussed in great detail. Buildings that have senses and are cognitive (your fridge watches you! and your door will tattletale with pleasure... ).
The LED displays vs light pollution seems to be a bit straight from the realm of the wishful thinking. Aren't the LED's one of the light pollution-causing factors? Well, only if the smarttech gets the LEDs to minimise the light output, then maybe it could work?
Monitors: wearable, environmental, activity recognition-oriented...
Trafic state recognizers and optimisers.
IOT models, Open & Big Data... etc... Lots of great material to ponder the future of our urban living.
